Just quickly starting new thread as @wheresmymoji is busy. Special thanks to @ofwarren for the updates and special thanks from to everyone posting useful info and being supportive.

The Italian jump in no, s is astonishing.

Tipsey I went skiing in Switzerland. It’s rubbish. Basically trying not to die for 5 days while having a bright red nose on all photos.

My extra freezer arrived today but they delivered the wrong item and I now have an extra fridge.

New freezer being redelivered Friday. Annoyballs.

There is a rumour that there is a case in Cardiff. Anyone could confirm?

Whether it's true or not, the Italian prime minister has come out and accused one local hospital of mismanaging "security protocols". I.e. the seemingly high number of deaths could be correlated to the fact there was a big spread inside a hospital.

Makes sense, especially given the age range of all fatalities in Italy was 63+ until yesterday (i read somewhere).

@Saffronesque True that. I think I’ve spent atleast £600 so far in prepping - this without the particularly large weekly grocery orders for the past two weeks. Most of it was in Costco, got blown away as it was my first grocery order so placed another partly because I have to buy few stuffs as a back up supply for a friend’s charity lunch and tea event coming up (if she doesn’t need it, we will be left with hundreds of creamers and sugar sticks lol) so added some more to my cart. I think I’m done prepping.. zapped of all energy and cash already

I don't know why there are two different figures. But sometimes the website changes a bit after 6pm. It's the equivalent of the NHS website I think:

Among the 2706 positives:

1065 are found in home isolation
1346 hospitalized with symptoms
295 in intensive care

Kids have another two weeks off school and we've just had the most snow since November so guess what everyone will be doing....

Deaths at the 6pm briefing yesterday was 79 so a big jump. I hope they are now retrospectively realising deaths were CV 🤞

@Puppycorn I'm off to tescos after tea to get the final few trolley load of bits. My nerves can't take trolley handles & checkouts much more & I've nearly spent all this months housekeeping too. I'll report back what is or isn't left on the shelves.

Emilia Romagna didn't have many cases a few days ago....

I went shopping earlier. Other people are obviously prepping too. There weren't too many tins of beans other than baked beans. No chickpeas to be had. No bread flour or bread mixes. Pasta shelves had noticeable gaps but there were still some packets to be had. Large bags of rice had also sold out.

Think I am going to make a couple of Christmas Cakes!!!!

They are a food that will keep for months, dense in calories, even got fruit in and I think if we are all stuck at home they might be a nice treat.

@MinesaPinotPlease. That's a great idea. Has anyone else considered how much weight we will all gain eating all the carbs?
Also wondering is it better to continue with my diet, or will chub help if I catch the virus? (Serious question )

@WitchDoc The delivery men think I’ve gone crazy already. I didn’t have the guts to go and touch the trolleys this morning either ..dh did but only after wearing gloves and he wiped the trolley handles with the surface wipes. I don’t want to go anywhere after this though I can’t stop dh or dd until the schools and offices close. 😫

I've given up the low carb diet I've been on as I know if I'm ill all I want is carbs and also figure if you're unwell it's good to have a few extra pounds in case you lose them being so sick...

@actiongirl1978 I was wondering the same! I was thinking that being hungry could make me more susceptible - well that was the excuse when I ate the creme egg!

Was dieting for my April holiday - which I guess might not happen anyway

Readyme my DC are all under 5 so I've just said there's a lot of germs about at the moment and people are getting ill so the doctor said they need to wash their hands twice to Happy Birthday 🙈. This seems to have done the trick.
