Tablets by post?

Hello - has anyone got experience please of taking the tablets by post? I just found out I’m pregnant, which is a totally shock. I don’t want to go through my GP and I don’t want to have a face to face appointment or scan. I think it would break my heart to see a baby on a scan, so I think the tablets by post make more sense. I’ve previously taken the MAP, so I’m trying to think of it similarly.

I’ve only had chance to Google Marie Stopes so far and that’s where I saw it as an option. Are there any other private clinics I should contact? Thank you

Glad things have been bearable @StormGrey. The worst of the physical side of things sound like they were ok.

Just keep an eye on your mental health. I’d recommend speaking with a counsellor (even once) just to get a bit of closure. I wish you all the best. You made a difficult choice.xx

ED81 · 13/07/2021 18:32

@sam433. Really sorry to hear you are struggling. You didn’t make this choice lightly and it might be feelings of guilt you are experiencing.

I hope things improve. The wait will be difficult but please be kind to yourself during that time.xx

And for you lurker poster ... who keeps daily name changing and sending me vile messages
I'd give up if I was you .. you wasting your time .. I've heard it all

Yes perhaps I will end up in hell - put the kettle on when you've heard I've arrived

Yes perhaps my own children will all die ... we all will one day you tulip

Yes no doubt I do suffer terrible nightmares sometimes
Not about my job .. only about terrible evil judgmental vile nasty sanctimonious creatures such as yourself

Save yourself the effort and just go watch a bit of Corrie love

Oh it's ok @StormGrey
If you ever feel bored .. have a search for " buffer zone Abortion clinics "
This is what we face on a daily basis

For myself ? I care not one jot
For every single woman / girl/ mother / partner / best friend who has to face these creatures as they try to enter our clinics at perhaps the worst time in their life - I could cry

ED81 · 13/07/2021 20:44

Xx

Hi Sam and Storm and anyone going through it... This thread might be of interest... About failed MA, continuing after first pill, etc. You've been getting some good information from the facilities; there is some hope and minimal risk of defects (same rate as in the general population).

www.netmums.com/coffeehouse/pregnancy-terminations-1161/unplanned-pregnancy-46/1758695-failed-abortion-anyone-continued-experiences-please.html

Page 8 of the thread has the NHS handout about miso

I know some mumsnetters don't care for netmums and vice versa, but there it is. All best wishes!! x

I think there is a lot of conflicting information for a couple of reasons

Some of the pro life movement infiltrate every opportunity they can

There really isn't a huge amount of data in this .. not legal or morally right to do the normal research or testing

I have always been led to believe that the first trimester is a very important development transition for a foetus so we would never administer Mifepristone to a wanted pregnancy, however the risk of miscarriage is relatively high as the point of the drug is to stop the pregnancy hormone and start to breakdown the lining of the womb , which the Miso continues in 24-48 hrs

I cannot stress enough to anyone going through this process the importance of being sure of your decision prior to taking anything at all

Even if the meds had caused no issues , the mental trauma guilt and fear of repercussions and being punished is enough to cause real harm - physically and mentally

Counselling is always available , abortion providers are NOT there to encourage you to abort , in fact it's the opposite , it is our job to ensure you have considered your options and although you may never be happy with your decision - you must be able to come to terms with it - to be able to move forward and live a fulfilled life with your existing family

Please be sure what you want - if that needs to be delayed then so be it
Late medical and surgical options are still available and not so bad

My thoughts go out to anyone in this process , be kind to yourself and accept any support offered at all 💐

Morning all - a good nights sleep and I'm feeling so much better this morning.

Still a little dizzy and lightheaded, so I'm back in bed, which is a luxury. I'm so happy that I'm no longer feeling nauseous, bloated or anxious. I feel refreshed and calm, which is a blessing after such a stressful couple of weeks.

Thank you all so much for your kindness and support. It helps enormously to have somewhere like this to write and share concerns and hear thoughts and advice from such kind non-judgemental people.

I'd give you all a massive hug and a big piece of cake if I could xx

Glad your feeling so much better @StormGrey and for sharing your experience yesterday! I have just inserted the first 4 tablets and having a lie down. Hoping I have done it correctly and it will all be ok 🤞🏼

StormGrey · 14/07/2021 10:02

Thinking of you @Busylizzie85

Drink lots of water, keep up your sugar (apple and nuts were easy to eat), take painkillers before you need them, rest lots xx
