Failed abortion- now 22 weeks.

Hello,

I had an abortion at 9 weeks. Turns out that it failed. I’m now 22 weeks, I’ve had a scan& the baby is perfectly healthy& growing fine. I’m just petrified of any birth defects it might have? Are there more chances of disabilities such as autism due to taking the medication?

If it’s the case, in all honestly, I don’t mind. It’s just playing in my mind.

And have you had a failed abortion and are worried this may happen??
As you can see from the feed the amount of amazing success stories, from myself and many others.

hello I took an abortion pill and I had a brown thick discharge but it’s not plenty can it be that the pregnancy is still there

Hi everyone, im still on my journey and im optimistic (though with mixed feelings) my baby is coming out well and strong.30 weeks gone.

Hi I took the abortion pill at 6weeks with some few clots and bleeding but pregnancy symptoms seems not to stop.Vomitting throught the day without food and water so I went to the hospital and they took a scan pregnancy was continuing and they were twins growing normal with heartbeat.I told the doctors I want to continue with this pregnancy.Now 10 weeks and some days.But I'm just afraid for birth defects and I can't forgive myself for doing this to these babies.Has anyone had a failed abortion on twins?What was the outcome.I m just afraid .

Hello I am now 29 weeks pregnancy. At my 6weeks pregnancy i took the mifepriston tablet only then later i changed my mind and decided to keep my angel.Then at 9th weeks i did my ultrasound and my baby was fine and there was heartbeat.Then at NT and Anomaly scsns the baby showed normal and fine pisition.Now i am very much tensed will there be any possibility for the further defects of my baby after delivery?i am worried.

Hey, just wanted to say that studies have shown that if the mifepristone does not successfully end the pregnancy, there is only a small chance of fetal deformity. If the pregnancy continues, it usually does so normally. Don't beat yourself up for changing your mind, your child will never know and it's a lot more common than you think. My little boy is nearly 4 and I took took both pills and they didn’t work. He is happy and healthy, my consultant told me there is just as much chance of abnormalities with a normal pregnancy

I gave birth to my bundle of joy august 19, my baby is in full shape and very healthy. Thanks for all the support i got here.

My mum had taken drug injections for termination of featus during pregnancy but im still alive im now 19years old 💪💪💪

Hi I hope you get this even though it's so much time later. I wanted to ask you because I too was about a month pregnant when I did the medical abortion but I took both sets of pills. How was you pregnancy? I regret doing the abortion on 2 days ago and am hoping for a miracle

Hello,
I got an abortion at 5 weeks and took both sets of pills. I did have clots , bleeding, and cramps. I took a pregnancy test 4 weeks after and it still says pregnant. I went to ER and they say there is no tissue left in my uterus but they did not see a baby. However, I have a hard stomach and I’ve been very tired. My breast are slightly tender but nothing like how they were. Also they are still a little bigger than they were. I’m scheduled to follow up with clinic but has anyone else experienced this and were they still pregnant?

How was your baby is it okay now? Im facing similar problem my misoprostol failed. Im trying to go with the pregnancy but scared with the possible effect on the baby

I want to share my experience don’t know one or two people might benefit from it ,it all happened 2022 around March when I missed my period ,I to over the counter medicine after like five days to prevent any pregnancy after I had an unprotected sex ,after taking the medicine called Ella one after 5 days I continue with my life thinking oh all is well ,and later I noticed I haven’t seen my missed which prompted me to but pregnant test kit ,I did and it was positive ,thought of it for some days ,then I decided to go for abortion ,I booked an appointment and was given one tablet at the appointment to come back I think twos day after ,I went and was admitting to have the remaining procedure carried out ,I was given like 6tablet I.e 4was inserted and two orally ,I bleed for hours and passed like 2clots not to big and was asked to go and come back after 11days for confirmation.I went back and the pregnancy was not successful I was advised to go for surgical abortion which I refused and decided to keep the baby ,because as at the time I was almost 11weeks I decided not to go ahead with termination as my mind was made up and I was advised to for the can I think 12weeks scan which I did and followed up on all scans to be sure my baby is perfectly fine ,and thorough out the pregnancy I always come on this post to read as I was very worried of any defect and all ,reading people experiences here really helped and now my baby is here ,healthy and happy .my advice for anyone that want to keep their baby after failed medical abortion is to follow the midwife’s,consultant’s advice ,go for scans to see the baby s okay and everything will be fine .

Hi, I had a medical abortion at 5 weeks. I had mifepristone to stop the hcg & then i was supposed to take the second pills that dissolve 24 hours later, but i ended up taking them 33 hours later.. i didn’t bleed very heavy at first & i don’t remember if i passed any clots, i think i may have passed 1 which may have been the pregnancy (hoping not) because i greatly regret what I did. I had light bleeding and cramping at first and then it got a little heavy, but i only bled for about 9 days. I took 2 test yesterday and they were both faint positives sort of like when I first found out.. not sure if the hcg is just slowly going away which is why they are faint, or the abortion failed? Has anyone experienced anything similar?

There is a possibility that if a woman is still pregnant after an abortion is that the pregnancy was twins. This happened to two ppl I know. Best of luck to everyone and their decision making.

I'm waiting for a scan in few weeks. im still am convinced I'm pregnant even tho Im definitely sure I passed the baby. I feel like I'm going crazy has anyone had this. I had serious regret after I did it so don't know if I'm going crazy. 😬🤣 like the chances of a baby being there is so low I know it but I've been getting fluttering in different places of my stomach for about a week now my stomach has been bloated ever since and I worked out today I'd be about 17 weeks if I'm still pregnant.

But I’m having regrets now about my decision so I’m praying that the MA failed. Due to go in the clinic on Tuesday about my ongoing symptoms cos it was 4 weeks ago now x

Yes went for my scan no baby or remains. It's hard because scinc3 that scan I've told myself I'm not pregnant n alot have the symptoms have gone... I think I was paying too much attention to my body which I usually don't do 😬 my stomach still isn't right but I'm now thinking it's got to be somrhing else other than pregnancy. Im going back to the Dr's for further tests and I want a scan on basically every bit of my stomach not just my uterus etc... its so hard when you regret it and it's horrible that you'd only know you'd feel like this after doing it... I really hope you go and you get your wish. Please stay off tiktok because I found myself in a world of feeding my mind what I wanted to believe n it just crushes you even more xxxxx

Hiya I just wondered what experiences people have had. I was 4 weeks 5 days pregnant and took the abortion pills. I bled for 5 days and it was a bit like a heavy period nothing to much. Anyway fast forward 5 weeks latterly I went for a scan at the clinic and found out I’m still pregnant. I regretted the moment k took the tablets and would like to continue the pregnancy but wondered if anyone on here has had this happen and if the babies where healthy when born as I know there is a risk of defeacts.
