Failed abortion- now 22 weeks.

Hello,

I had an abortion at 9 weeks. Turns out that it failed. I’m now 22 weeks, I’ve had a scan& the baby is perfectly healthy& growing fine. I’m just petrified of any birth defects it might have? Are there more chances of disabilities such as autism due to taking the medication?

If it’s the case, in all honestly, I don’t mind. It’s just playing in my mind.

Thank you xx

@Jaykennedy god bless him he'll be okay. If I had known that this could happen I wouldn't never have had a termination. I can't imagine what you're going through but surely praying. He is a fighter and hopefully everything will be okay.

Thank you very much for your kind words. My mother told me that if a baby that doesn’t survive during pregnancy it is very hopeful his will come back and be with you and I feel so much faith in this for you. ❤️

I’m glad that Monday is just around the corner for you and it is an anxious time waiting, I hope the best for you and baby and hope that he is still there💙 It sounds sort of silly but I whisper to my intuition prayers and so far so good.

heartbroken22 · 27/06/2022 19:55

@Jaykennedy thank you. Do you guys still have pregnancy symptoms?

heartbroken22 · 27/06/2022 19:55

@23456loz are you still getting positives?

Ab3 · 08/07/2022 12:38

My mother took abortion pills when she was pregnant with me but it didn't work and I am now 22 years old and healthy but I am worried if the pills she took can have an effect on me on the future when I decide to have a baby. Can the pills she took then affect my fertility?

heartbroken22 · 08/07/2022 21:49

@Ab3 bless your soul! And to answer your question no I don't think it would affect you fertility...there's nothing to suggest that...

Iam going through the same situation, I had a failed abortion and m now 15 weeks pregnant. I always think about my baby's health and it gets me worried. My doctor said everything is normal even the scan showed that my baby is healthy. This story has given me hope and I will be sleeping peacefully from today. Thank you

Hello, there is something very special about babies that hang on extremely tight through trauma. I'm happy for you that baby is all algood and healthy. When I was going through this I needed some serious confirmation that my baby was going
to be ok if I carried on due to what I had just put him through. During my scan to see if he was still there, the lady said he was doing exactly what he needed to do and he seemed well from out here. I finally found in my opinion the best midwife out there, she booked me a fetal medical scan in Auckland and more than just once too, I needed to know. At 18 weeks, he was missing bits and pieces BUT he was a boy and I will always love my son, to me he was perfect but I would rather he come back again in his own time with all the necessary equipment! Good luck to you, do go extremely out you way to find out what it best for baby.

Can a woman get pregnant during lactation period?

BobbieJean89 · 02/10/2022 21:35

Yes it is possible. Lactating does not stop ovulation.

Stacey2122 · 05/10/2022 18:02

Update. I had a failed abortion at 5 weeks, I am now 29 weeks. And honestly it has been emotional rollercoaster. My baby boy has been diagnosed with left duplex kidney with no obvious right kidney. That was fine until they saw a double bubble indicting duodenal atresia. I know this can happen to normal babies too but my main advice, don’t do abortion if u didn’t want to and don’t let anyone pressure you into doing it because that’s what happened with me. Biggest regret in my life.

Hi all I took misoprostol 2 weeks ago. Didn't experience any bleeding. So abortion failed. I took a test this week and it was positive. I've got pregnancy symptoms and feeling so guilty and scared. I decided to keep the pregnancy but so scared that it wouldn't be a healthy baby. What do I do do I go to the Dr I'm afraid of judgments please advice.

Hello,

I would advise to go to the doctor for confirmation of your pregnancy. If you know deep down that you can't bring yourself to let him/her go, then please, think about, I regret that I could have met my son in under two months. They doctors will likely advise you to abort like they did for me but I could not bring myself to that, I loved him too much but in my experience he deserved the necessary body parts to come back in another life. If you can do it, do it. What I wish I was told earlier is that it's not too late to have an induced labour over 20 weeks if worse comes to worse. Love and hope to you xxx

OrigamiSnowball · 07/10/2022 13:07

Hi PP11111, I have seen many cases where, if the tablets don't abort and the pregnancy continues, it usually results in a healthy baby. Don't be afraid of judgement, many women change their minds and it's no one else's business. There are so many posts on this board saying "I took the first pill and immediately regretted it." You're not alone, and I wish you and your baby all the best.

Shasha83 · 07/10/2022 15:01

Hi,

kust want to let you hear my experience so far, I posted on this thread before. Me too, I took misoprostol only because we don’t have the regular two set of pills where I live (Caribbean) when I was about 9+ weeks, worst decision I made the following week I felt so angry with myself and guilty of dook something I wasn’t 100% sure of. When I went back after a week to see if the procedure succeeded the gyn told me the baby is there still and he grew over the week as well. I didn’t have a lot of bleeding very light bleeding only the night I took the pills, and some light cramps. He told me he can give me more pills to finish the procedure and that’s when I knew for sure I couldn’t do it and he immediately told me we’ll take it as a regular pregnancy from then on.

Fast forward I’m now 32 weeks far, did the nipt test and several ultrasounds and have 2 different OV/gyn’s I go to just for my peace of mind, everything looks good and normal so far. I was so afraid because of possible defects but my doctor/Obgyn told me he has seen it before and the misoprostol gives contractions but doesn’t attack or stop the fetus itself from growing so depending on how far you are also it might not work. And then I read sometimes it just doesn’t work. I’m still praying that my baby will be born in good health 🙏🏼 He is in breech position so I might have to schedule a c-section if he doesn’t turn in the next few weeks. I will keep you ladies updated.

all the best love to you all ❤️

OrigamiSnowball · 08/10/2022 13:16

Wow Sasha, so happy to hear you were one of the lucky ones. Hope your pregnancy and delivery go smoothly. Congratulations!!

Ntk3010 · 09/10/2022 07:04

What I mean is that can a woman get pregnant when breastfeeding her baby and have not started seeing her period (menstruation)?

Ntk3010 · 09/10/2022 07:05

Even when she have not started seeing her period (menstruation)

Ntk3010 · 09/10/2022 07:27

Gud day guys
I am leaving this message for those who are experience what I experience or will in future, if u took abortion pills called misofem/misoprostol and failed wether u see small light blood or not, when u do another pregnant test and come out positive it will not affect ur baby in case you want to keep it pregnancy.keeping the pregnancy is a good thing because children are gift from God it only devil's that pushed us to abortion. When u experience this no that God is fighting the devil for u by giving you a second chance.
This happened to me and my partner we keep the pregnancy and now God gave us five months old beautiful baby girl ( we are happy to be parent)

OrigamiSnowball · 09/10/2022 14:20

NTK, that's a pretty insensitive thing to say, I don't think you're doing any good by saying that. I'm glad things worked out for you but it's not appropriate to say that people who aborted were following the devil (?!) Just not helpful. And in answer to your question, a woman can get pregnant before having a period if it is her first ovulation after giving birth and there are sperm to meet the egg cell. Menstruation only occurs after an egg is not fertilized and the cycle starts again.

Shasha83 · 09/10/2022 16:06

Thank you so much for your kind words yes indeed I feel very lucky and grateful ❤️ 🙏🏼

PP11111 · 09/10/2022 20:28

Shasha83 thanks for sharing honestly speaking I'm feeling much better. My next step is to see if baby is fine.

PP11111 · 09/10/2022 20:34
