Anyone due in August?

I am due my second baby boy on 18th August. Just went to midwife on Thurs and was told he is breech - panicking slightly, as I thought by this stage (34+ weeks) they pretty much stay in the same position! Midwife tells me there is plenty of time for him to turn, so fingers crossed!
Would hate to have to have c-section as I found giving birth to my first little boy naturally 16 months ago very painful, but the most rewarding and fantastic experience I have ever had.

Still here too...
Damn horrible night. Had such a painfull contractions, took the Co-Dydramol the MW gave me, but they calmed down and still nothing much changing.

Going to have lunch in M&S with my SIL in the hopes that my waters will break and I'll get lots of vouchers!!

Cots up, bath/changing table things is up, carpet is in... where is this bleeping baby!!! Doesn't it know it's due today!!

Beccaroll, I fractured my coccyx a few years ago and have already been warned by the MW that it could fracture again during labour... nice.

Baby bunny is still OP by the feel of all the kicks in the front.

Bunnyrabbit if they are lower down then they could be elbows

Pie you poor thing. Look at it this way - you don't know when baby will come. Maybe he/she will come a week early. So you haven't gone back a week after all

I had trouble with my coccyx when younger and it was really painful towards the end of my most recent pg. Couldn't sit on a hard chair etc. But since the birth its been fine.

princesspeahead · 29/08/2003 19:23

hi everyone. beccaroll, due tomorrow. Is your back feeling any better? bunny the contractions sound a pain, but they must be doing something. Maybe it means that your labour will be relatively short and effective???

bunnyrabbit · 29/08/2003 23:20

Oh I do hope so. I've just posted on another thread that I've bought a fresh pineapple, and intend to eat nothing but this and gaviscom tomorrow!!!

Well, here's hoping your on time PPH 'cos it doesn't look like I'm gonna be.....

BR
PS. Didn't have time to make apple cake so will make it tomorrow.

Beccaroll · 30/08/2003 10:05

My back is a little better thanks...

I went for a walk yesterday and was in agony with pains in my pelvis when I came back - hopefully it pushed baby down a little bit more!!

Im 7 days over today - starting to get v sick!

princesspeahead · 30/08/2003 10:37

sadly I'm allergic to pineapple - gives me terrible mouth ulcers in less than 24 hours. Don't think I could face a lacerated mouth AND lacerated perineum and nipples all in the same week....!!

but hope it works for you.
have run out of RLT but since it clearly wasn't doing much anyway, I'm not about to hike off and get any more.
Resigned myself to being here for the long haul. As usual....!

bunnyrabbit · 30/08/2003 10:45

Hi guys,

Still here, and the phone calls have started already. Have told DH that I'm not answering the phone today to anyone except my SIL!!

Well at least we'll have time to put the curtains up in the baby's room.

Hey and we can all make apple cake!

Hang in there girls. Anyone heard from Neen or Eva?

BR

princesspeahead · 30/08/2003 10:58

same here. got up at 8.30 and by 9.15 I had

  • phone call from friend from the village
  • SMS from sister
  • phone call from mother
  • phone call from maternity nurse
  • SMS from friend's husband
  • visit from old codger down the lane "just dropped in to see if everything was alright" "Ummm, yes, thanks but I'm still in my nightie, please could you BUGGER OFF"

I'm also not answering the phone. Ever again.

Beccaroll · 30/08/2003 12:22

Its soooooooooo annoying isnt it!!! I know everyone means well but it makes you feel like your letting everyone down when you say "nope still no sign"

I REALLY want to go into labour today!! Any ideas girls? Ive been told to bottom bump down the stairs but worried it might make the poor thing dizzy!!

princesspeahead · 30/08/2003 13:41

I bottom bumped down 5 flights of stairs with my 2 year old dd while 10 days late with my ds - made not the blindest bit of difference, but she thought it was hilarious fun....

I don't think there is anything you can do, they come when they come I reckon

bunnyrabbit · 30/08/2003 16:50

Well if there's no luck tonight. I'm cleaning windows tomorrow...

Had two more SMS and two voicemail messages. Feel like saying I've had the baby, but couldn't be bothered to tell anyone!! What do they think? I'm gonna keep it a secret for God's sake!!!

BR

motherinferior · 30/08/2003 17:03

Change the answerphone message to 'I haven't had the baby yet' and screen calls? I did that when expecting dd1 (you just have to remember to change it afterwards).

princesspeahead · 31/08/2003 11:05

any news bunny and becca?
or from eva, neen and myers the cat?

I'm still here....

Beccaroll · 31/08/2003 11:12

Nope none from me!! 40+8 now....

Had a HORRIBLY hormonal day yesterday - actually not sure if I should blame my hormones or just selfish DP. RANT RANT RANT

Is anyone doing anything to try and hurry things along or are you just chilling?

I'm here again....complete with a lovely pink bundle called sasha louise.

Nothing went to plan....but what the heck. We managed to wake most of Portsmouth I think before the epidural!!
All ended up in an emergency caesarean when we lost her hb, but we are both here and fine!!

How are Meers and Katherine doing?

bunnyrabbit · 31/08/2003 13:33

Hi Myersthecat,
What lovely news. So glad all is well. You got there in the end, even if it wasn't quite how you intended.

PPH, still here worse luck. Eating fresh pineapple even though it's giving me even worse indigestion. How about you? Any contractions yet?

Beccaroll, rant all you like!! You have permission. I'm two days late and depressed and tetchy so can't even imagine how you must be feeling.

BR

Beccaroll · 01/09/2003 11:24

bunnyrabbit · 01/09/2003 11:49

Eva3 · 01/09/2003 19:06

Hi everyone ! Will write proper birth announcement soon. Had 1st stage from 4pm until 10:30pm with no painrelief - just DH's fantastic lower back massage and clary sage on a towel. Then 2nd stage 2 hours of pushing and head stuck. The saga continues later....suspense! I feel good, and am elated to announce that Madeleine Rosemary entered the world on Thursday morning Aug 28th at 1.50am weighing 8lbs 11oz and possessing a head with a 37cm circumference.... promise to tell all soon, just a bit too exhausted at the moment. Finding it tricky to find time to spend with DD...

mears · 01/09/2003 19:10

Congratulations Eva3 - imagine keeping us in suspense!! Looking forward to part 2. Best wishes
