Anyone due in August?

I am due my second baby boy on 18th August. Just went to midwife on Thurs and was told he is breech - panicking slightly, as I thought by this stage (34+ weeks) they pretty much stay in the same position! Midwife tells me there is plenty of time for him to turn, so fingers crossed!
Would hate to have to have c-section as I found giving birth to my first little boy naturally 16 months ago very painful, but the most rewarding and fantastic experience I have ever had.

Yep I agree trudles, all sounds very hopeful and like things are going in the right direction!!

My induction is booked for tomorrow and although I considered refusing it and going for monitoring I think Ill just go ahead and be induced - after the complicated pregnancy Im more than ready for it to be over!!

So.... doesnt leave me much time - just think, tomorrow Ill be saying "Im getting induced TOMORROW"

Wonder if I will be next or if one of you will pip me at the post!

Make up shopping sounds good - I need to buy a good concealer for those first few weeks photos! hehe

Oh, you poor loves. All the vile symptoms of approaching labour, but none of the actuality. Hugs from this mummy xxxxxx

zen-like calm, zen-like calm, zen-like calm....

motherinferior · 03/09/2003 20:38

...after all, no chance of said ZLC after the little darling arrives...

princesspeahead · 03/09/2003 22:15

hee hee hee!
thanks for reminding me. I do tend to think that the baby will be wrapped in a white blanket fast asleep in its moses basket all the time.

HA!

Beccaroll · 03/09/2003 22:19

What?? You mean it wont??

motherinferior · 04/09/2003 10:11

er.....

....must get back to the joys of motherhood

Katherine · 04/09/2003 10:13

Really feel for you all. But honestly although you probably won't beleive me - treasure those movements and feeling of a babe in your tummy. Once it has happened you WILL miss being pg. I feel quite sad now that its all over and really miss those kicks and prods (although of course I'm getting plenty from the outside now )

Beccaroll · 04/09/2003 10:15

Role call for today please!

Who is still with us?? Has anyone gone into labour over night.

I for one havent!! 12 days late today.

Im going for MORE reflexology later, more so to relax me than for induction of labour as it obviously doesnt work LOL

Oooh spooky. I was gonna post a mail for a role call....

Very much still here.

Am a lady who lunches at the moment so going for lunch with my friend and her 2 year old. Hoping this will make me appreciate that baby bunny is still nice and quiet in my tummy. oohhh just had a contraction! Think I'll ignore it...

beccaroll, in case I don't get to post before, I wish you much luck with the induciton but hope that you don't need it. Don't forget to let us know all the gory details as my number is up on Tuesday!!

Take care one and all and don't let the b***s who keep phoning grind you down.

BR
PS. What do you mean my baby won't be asleep all the time? I there something I should have been told before I got my self into this????

trudles · 04/09/2003 10:40

still here nothing happening had home visit with teacher this morning blubbed a little felt a prat blamed it on hormones. Katherine I am definatly not going to miss being pregnant I am already thinking about long term contraception as dh wont have snip just yet.

Katherine · 04/09/2003 11:41

Trudles - just read my posts further down. I was the one who just wanted this baby out. Not saying I'm not glad she's out - just that there are some things you do miss. I was 9 days late with all sorts of near misses with my homebirth plan. I KNOW how frustrating it is and nothing I say will change that for you - I was there myself just 13 days ago BUT I just meant that if you focus on the nice bits of still being pg then it does help a bit (only a bit though )

trudles · 04/09/2003 15:00

I cant really think of any nice things about being pregnant at the moment apart from the end result. hate being fat,I feel very self concous and unatractive, cant do the things I would normaly be doing every day is like groundhog day

JeniN · 04/09/2003 15:44

Still here too...9 days over. Had another stretch and sweep today. I'm also booked in for induction Tuesday if nothing happens. Feeling more relaxed today - MW very helpful.

JeniN · 04/09/2003 15:49

P.S. Trudles - I so relate to that. I feel huge and can't believe how boring my life has become over the last week or so..desperately trying to come up with distractions. Even started baking muffins.

bunnyrabbit · 04/09/2003 16:10

Jenin, looks like we're both going for it next Tuesday then.

So bored I even cleaned the windows and have logged into my work web mail!! Spoke to guys at work twice today and even emailed my boss, whose partner is pregnant, to say how bored I am. Wonder if they'll let me come into work tomorrow??

Don't know how people stay at home from 36 weeks. Wish I'd stayed till 39!!!

Yours, thoroughly pissed off now.

hello, still here!
had an epic trip to John Lewis this morning, since so many people I know seem to have gone into labour/broke their waters there, but doesn't seem to have had much effect on me, sadly. 5 days overdue now.

Feeling quite zen-like actually, I've decided it is going to be between 10 and 14 days late so I might as well get on with things in the meantime....

good luck all of the rest of you!

bunnyrabbit · 05/09/2003 09:33

Good luck today Beccaroll. Hope all goes well.

Had a show yesterday and have had painfull period pains/contractions most of the night so am still hoping baby bunny may pop out of it's own accord.

Katherine · 05/09/2003 10:10

Oooh Bunny rabbit fingers crossed for you.

Thinking of you Beccarrol

JeniN · 05/09/2003 13:38

Yeah! Had a more successful sweep today (third time lucky). Funny, MW said she's seen loads of people today who are being induced Tuesday - must be something in the air. It does feel surreal at this stage...like I'm not sure I really believe I'm still actually gonna have a baby.

trudles · 05/09/2003 13:43

nothing happenning 6 days over, just feel upset as dd leaves nursery today after being there since she was a baby. Stretch and sweep tommorow.

bunnyrabbit · 05/09/2003 18:49

Well ladies it looks like I may win this leg of the race. Had another show at lunch time, the last of it I think, and am now having regular and extrememly painful contractions every 10 - 15 mins. Have had to put my TENS machine on, which I think is nullifying the pain.

Will keep you upto date.

princesspeahead · 05/09/2003 19:29

bunnyrabbit! very exciting, can't wait to hear the news... good luck!

Wills · 05/09/2003 19:41

Ohhhh this thread has become sooo exciting. Thinking of you Beccaroll. Good luck bunny rabbit. Not long now pph. By the way... Sex definitely worked for me...... Dh worried for days after that he had somehow caused the placenta to abrupt. MW told him that he couldn't possibly be that big - not sure if he was hurt or relived !

Katherine · 05/09/2003 20:18

Wills

BR - excellent news. Good luck.

Everyone else - see you do go into labour eventually!
