Hi everyone!

Well, I got my BFP on Friday morning and it is only just starting to sink in! According to my dates I am due 2nd Feb and I thought it would be nice to have a Feb babies thread, where we can all share our news/worries/excitement!

Cant wait to hear from you

Pebblestone · 21/06/2010 19:49

Hi jackinthebump my husband is 44 next month and there is no evidence for any problems linked to men of this age so don't worry! Just enjoy it!

cler · 21/06/2010 19:53

Hi judyjiggles, it is normal to have period feelings, ive had it bad and had lots of painds in my tummy.

judyjiggles · 21/06/2010 19:56

Thanks Cler. Its hard to know what's normal and what's not isn't it!

Jackinthebump I definately want to know the sex of our baby! I am hoping can talk my partner into that too

jackinthebump · 21/06/2010 20:11

Pebblestone - thanks, I think he is just being silly TBH!

I really want to know the sex but he is adamant he doesn't want to know! I can't go 9 months not knowing, he said if I want to know that's fine just don't let it slip to him! how hard will that be!

girlinlondon · 21/06/2010 20:16

Hi judy jiggles I've had some pains too. I asked my doctor and she says some people do some people don't, it doesn't necessarily mean anything. She said when she had her first, she had discomfort too. It still worries me a bit though, even though she says its is ok.

On my god the ms, it is not fun. Can barely concentrate at work, on work, as spend most of the time thinking about trying not to be sick. Nibbling on biscuits throughout the day seems to help.

And the tiredness, I'm exhausted.

I've read in a book it gets better after the first trimester. But that is still 5 weeks or so away... just want to fast forward to the scan now. Shouldn't wish is away, but the sickness and tiredness is not fun

Sam2302 · 21/06/2010 21:24

Hi everyone!

Can I join the Feb babies party too?

Am just over 6 weeks along with my first, due date is 11 Feb. This is all so new and still feels a bit unbelievable. Plus I have no idea what is supposed to be happening when! Seen the GP who has referred me to the hosp so I guess that's the first step???

Mega tired by the evening when I get home from work and just want to sleep. Also want to eat lots as psychologically think I need to feed the "baby" but all the books say that you shouldn't put on more that 1-2 kgs in the first three months so keep worrying that I'll eat too much! It's all very confusing!! xx

Sam2302 · 21/06/2010 21:25

Also am relying on a healthy diet and folic acid to do the trick for healthy bubba but do most people take other supplements too??

leelteloo · 21/06/2010 21:55

Hi, can i join please. Did a test few days ago but knew i was pregnant from the day of conception (2nd baby). Could feel a slight popping sensation in my tummy all day and just knew, so wierd. Have had all the aboved mentioned symptoms apart from sickness, which is good cause dd is only 10 months and it would be a struggle.
I have a yoga for pregnancy dvd from last time still in the wrapper , i stayed very tired and then got the worst carpal tunnel symdrome, and was pretty much bed bound with pain from about 30 weeks
I am praying i don't get that again. I am SOOOOO excited though and its great to have this thread, my baby due 18th Feb and got booking appt with HV next tue. I will be having another Cs, unfortunately due to pelvic disproportion, not looking forward to that again!

wigglesrock · 21/06/2010 22:10

Can I join too, due 14 Feb - will be my third, have two dd, very nervous with this pregnancy, feel soooo lucky, leelteloo I had awful carpal tunnel with my first one, but never came back with second!! , only dh knows and feel so sick!!!PS Ice-cream snickers help

PandaEis · 21/06/2010 22:11

hi

i got my BFP about 2 weeks ago but i have been too scared to say hello i have just been lurking and reading everyone elses stories

so my story is... i am 28 and my DH and i have been TTC for almost 3 years for number 2 we have got a 4 year old DD and i have had 6MC's 5 of which have been 6 weeks or earlier! i am now 7+1 and having sore boobs, nausea, no AF (obv!) i did a first response on saturday and it was a nice clear BFP so i feel ok about things up to now i am waiting to see the GP tomorrow (first appointment i could get) and i can get confirmation to go the clinic to see the consultant i have a medical condition causing my MCs so i should have blood thinning injections and twice monthly scans so i am crossing my fingers that the GP doesnt drag her feet and gets me straight along for a scan

im half expecting her to say it is all in my head i suspect thats a product of how long ive been waiting for it to go well

ok sob story over

i will add myself onto the list...according to my LMP my due date is feb 6th which is spookily, 2 years to the day that DHs grandad died!!

Hi Pandaeis

scary isn't it! but i think this website is great. I only joined today - I've never used this kind of forum thing before but I started a thread about being terrified and people were just lovely. I think its wicked we can all support each other

JustOneMorePlease · 21/06/2010 22:23

Hi, wow it is hard to keep up with this thread!
Went to doctors with dd1 today as she had a funny rash. When i mentioned that i was pregnant she actually asked me if it was an accident (this is number 4 and was very much planned).
I went into a long shocked speel about how we always wanted 4 and we feel very lucky.
I guess in society everyone has an opinion about everyone elses lives and babies are no exception. I was "allowed" dd1 as we had 2 ds's.! But obviously that was it!!
I guess we are going to have to get use to people giving their opinions!!
Sorry winge over.... still a bit nauseous and knackered as far as symptoms go, but very excited as we are going on a family holiday at the weekend. The boys are sooooo excited. Seeing gp on our return at 8/9 weeks.

Keep well everyone and look forward to mass update on my return. Am thinking of all of you waiting for scans and those who have had problems. xxxx

MrsWest2010 · 21/06/2010 22:38

Hello everyone! I have just found out I'm pregnant too. According to my calc's my first baby is due around 20th February. Haven't been to the doctors yet, going on Friday. Already had my first 'scare' with what feels like mild period pains and one 'spot'... I've been in tears all day... not sure if I will cope with another 7 months!!! Your messages have already reassured me that I'm normal... thank you!

I hope that you are all getting on ok and being treated well by those that you love.

x

smallblackflowers · 21/06/2010 22:47

Hi all, am pleased to say that I've not had any more spotting since saturday morning, and have been feeling particularly crappy, so am fairly sure that all is ok. Got a letter through inviting me for my scan and booking appointment on 27th July - I'll be 12+1, and another inviting me to the diabetes clinic on 15th July (I had gestational diabetes in my last pg). Was hoping to see a midwife before as want to find out if my LHA provide the nuchal scan, as will need to go private if they don't. Have googled but to no avail....

Welcome to judyjiggles, sam2302, leelteloo, wigglesrock, PandaEis and MrsWest2010

I think that makes us 79 people now - wowee - our own little baby boom.

PAndaEis thanks for adding yourself to the stats - everyone else I've added you below but didn't know ages.... if you were able to fill in the '??' that would be fab.

canoe · 22/06/2010 07:05

Wow, so many newbies! Congrats and welcome everyone.

Sam we've got the same due date - it's great to have other people going through it at the same time.

Re your suppliments question, I'm taking a multi vitamin called pregnacare, it includes folic acid, but also loads of other stuff. I wasn't going to bother with taking anything extra except folic acid, as i normally eat really heathily - well i try to! But I'm really pleased i'm taking extra stuff as i feel pretty queasy most of the time and can't face eating much. The thought of food makes me feel sick, so i'm worried i wouldnt be getting enough vitamins and stuff otherwise.

Although the tablets are massive, I'm really struggling to swallow them, does anyone else find that? I've started taking them with yoghurt rather than a drink which seems a bit better, but they still make me gag sometimes - not great when i'm already feeling sicky.

I'm finding cereal is a pretty good meal when i can't face much else, although i'm not sure how healthy that is, except for the calcium.

Anyway, hope everyone is coping with their MS. Take care all

canoe · 22/06/2010 07:14

And Jack yes we're in the same position where i definitely want to know the sex and DP doesn't. I feel i want to know so i can start bonding with it before he/she arrives. That feels much harder to do when it's an 'it' IYSWIM.

When could we find out the sex? I'm guessing we've still got a while to come to a decision. I don;t think it'll work with me knowing and him not. I'm bound to let it slip!

I don't think we'd tell other people though

leelteloo · 22/06/2010 07:29

HI Canoe, you can find out sex at 20 weeks scan.
Hey PandaEis, make sure you don't let the GP drag their feet, put your foot down and stomp it hard if you have to! I've got everything crossed for you!
I'm taking Mummaomega, special pregnancy omega fish oil, very very good for baby, its expensive but you have to get special one in pregnancy because other fish oils can be harmful.

leelteloo · 22/06/2010 07:32

Oh and i'm 36 (geriatric), amazed at the administration of this thread, well done KnitterNotTwitter and others who are keeping on top of it all.

angels1 · 22/06/2010 08:00

justonemoreplease it's odd what people say and their pre-conceptions. I remember when my sister was a baby (she's 10 yrs younger than me), random strangers would come up to my mum and say 'is it the same father?' and poor mum was so taken aback! (btw it was!!).

canoe I take seperate vitamins so they are alot smaller and easier to swallow. I just take a folic acid and vitamin B6, and then a liquid iron tonic. Having said that, I forgot to take them yesterday, yikes! I also find cereal is a good food to swallow. I don't really fancy food, but feel so hungry! I've been surviving on baked potatoes, toast, breakfast cereals, rice, tofu, seeds, cheese and salad, so really not the healthiest...I'm worried too I'm not getting all the nutrients, but it's only hopefully a couple of months we'll be like this, then I'll make sure I get super nutritious.

Have a great day everyone - great to see so many peeps here

sbf so glad your spotting has stopped

re: Vitamins I'm taking the pregnacare ones but not very religously. Baby will take what it needs from me, they're like that. The vitamins are more to top up what baby has taken....

I've also started eating seeds on my porridge again - definitely helped against baby brain last time. The ones I eat are Holland and Barrett ones:

Breakfast sprinkle www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/product_detail.asp?pid=785&prodid=841

mixed with omega sprinkle
www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/product_detail.asp?pid=788&prodid=844

I started eating them when my mum read an article about the benefits, particularly to pregnant mums and their developing babies. Plus I prefer the idea of getting my vitamins and minerals in 'real form' rather than 'tablet form'.

GinaFB · 22/06/2010 10:23

WOW how many new people have joined the thread! Hello to everyone and Congratulations!

Sam2302 I am on a mega dose of folic acid that is on prescription and I spoke to the Dr who said that really they only tell pregnant women to take pregnacare etc is for the folic acid and as long as you eat a varied healthy diet that you will be fine! It also is very expensive! I was surprised at her honesty.

jackinthebump My OH wants to find out at the 20 week scan as do I. I want to be able to plan, get the nursery ready etc and besides there is no way we could wait another 33 weeks to find out!!!

Panda keep on at the GP to get your scan. [

No nausea today so far but its tending to start later on in the afternoon... . My new bras arrived yesterday and are not too ugly but MASSIVE and super comfortable! I bought some a size up to "grow into"!

I am dog sitting for my Mum and Dad at the moment and their dog is old and suffers with some incontinence Yesterday I was up at 5am to let her out and again at 4.15 this morning. Plus as she didn't manage to get outside this morning I spent some time cleaning up her mess. As I am NOT a morning person I am very tired today and DP has felt the brunt of it!! ooops!

Long post sorry!!! Have a good day everyone! Xxx
