Hi everyone!

Well, I got my BFP on Friday morning and it is only just starting to sink in! According to my dates I am due 2nd Feb and I thought it would be nice to have a Feb babies thread, where we can all share our news/worries/excitement!

Cant wait to hear from you

Hi all! I seem to be feeling sick almost all the time at the moment, keep telling myself it's all in my head but not sure! Just gone to bed with a glass of water and packet of Ginger nut biscuits, I'm sure that will do my teeth the world of good!

Found it strange that when I went to doctors I told her I was pregnant and she didn't do any test at all! Booking in appt is in a few weeks time!

angels1 · 21/06/2010 08:33

tabbycat at least you have sore boobs - so you have something to go on I think all this pg stuff is so stress inducing - I was panicing yesterday afternoon that I felt 'normal' and I should be feeling bad, then 2 hours later I was in bed feeling sick thinking 'I wish I was feeling 'normal'! I just can't win!

sweetnitanitro glad I'm not the only one with hunger....and wind! I seem to have an increasing constipation issue too now, sigh.

Hope all good this morning.

angels I have been STARVING! if I don't eat then I get dizzy and faint! I am coming out of that a bit now and figured that with all the important growth that is done in the first 6 weeks or so that it was all to do with that!

sweetnitanitro ditto in the wind! My DP is frankly mortified but very understanding!!!

Breezey Hi!

smallblackflowers how are things going, everything ok over the weekend?

I haven't been suffering with MS much, no real sickness just nausea and some travel sickness. Very very tired by early in the afternoon and some aches in my hips and tummy where things are stretching out, also I am congested, I know this can be a sympton but not sure if its that or hayfever!!!

Grannyapple · 21/06/2010 09:56

Hey folks! Feeling ok, tho have started to feel a bit queasy last night & this morning-hopefully it won't get worse ( wishful thinking I expect!).

Went to docs this morning-no need for dating scan as I know my dates, so straight to kings for nuchal scan. I asked if I could refuse some of the tests but he said they are basically 'probabilities'. Don't think we'll proceed with further tests anyway if comes out high risk.

But doc put me at 7 wks ( I think I am just under 7). But hopefully that means I'll get my scan quicker! Scans r around 11-12 wks for my area, so hoping I'll have a date in the next 2 weeks.

Grannyapple · 21/06/2010 09:58

Sorry that should say 'i think I am just under 6'!

caramellokoalalover · 21/06/2010 10:23

Hi lovely ladies (and man), Have been away for the weekend and haven't had a chance to catch up on the posts. Just thought I'd very sadly drop by to say I had some bleeding over the weekend. Off to the docs tomorrow to see what the deal is, but I'm thinking it's not good, and I may have to leave the Feb bumps.

tabbycat76 · 21/06/2010 10:24

Glad all went well grannyapple, we're heading out shortly. So have you had a nuchal scan already then?!?! Bit confused as you say you went straight onto Kings.

Deliaskis · 21/06/2010 10:32

Hi Ladies,

Sorry to hear some of the sad news. Thinking of all the ladies out there with worries.

As for me, I am feeling a bit 'un-pregnant' today, no symptoms really apart from tiredness. Should feel lucky but in reality feel slightly concerned even though there is no real reason to.

Actually, I have had a few hormonal moments - DH rang me as I was two minutes from home yesterday morning and I was all cheery on the phone, and by the time I got to the door two minutes later I was in tears for no reason at all, and then five mins later was prancing around in a new dress saying how summery I felt. Talk about mood swings!

D

caramel to soory to hear that - will keep my fingers crossed for you too....

Welcome to Breezey - I'll add you to the stats in a moment

re: Bras... definitely not too early to get a bigger bra - if your girls need it then go for it.... Try and get a soft one i.e. no underwire if you can as it's beter for your developing ducts.... I needed to get a bigger bra last time but boobs seem to have stayed the same this time - anyone else finding that?

Rachel1979 · 21/06/2010 10:43

Hi everyone, I'm new to this thread, also due in February (12th Feb I think). Congrats to all on here!

I'm just over 6 weeks, and apart from feeling a bit tired and needing the loo ALL the time, I dont feel like I have any symptoms. I know I should feel lucky (and I'm sure they will come!), but makes me feel nervous that nothings happening or somethings wrong. Anyone else been through this??

I'm having an early dating scan tomorrow (private, but couldn't wait!), and we haven't told our parents yet so going to use the scan photo to tell them. Think they'll be over the moon!

Anyway, let me know if you know how I'm feeling on the lack of symptoms!!

Grannyapple · 21/06/2010 11:03

Hi tabby-no not had scan yet, was just surprised that the referral is straight to kings as no dating scan. Good luck for ur appt too x.

Diamondback · 21/06/2010 11:06

I went and bought new bras last Thursday and I'm growing out of them already! I'm already wearing the sports bras to bed as it's just so much more comfortable. They're hilarious - really 1950s style and very 'sturdy'-looking.

DH and I were away for the weekend with friends and I was eating so much he thought I was having some sort of emotional breakdown! But I assured him I'm just really, really hungry, so he's fine with that and we are filling the house and my office drawers with healthy snacks so I don't spend the entire nine months eating flapjacks...

Going to try to mark 50 student assignments without falling asleep now - so sleepy!

LalZee83 · 21/06/2010 11:14

Hi all

Firslty, caramellokoalalover - hoping its not bad news for you - ((hugs))

Secondly, Morning Sickness Update:

Ok so after feeling a tad better on Friday and thinking ' I can handle this MS' I felt really sick on Saturday evening and spent almost the entire weekend lying down. Felt totally wiped.

Then last night had really painful aches across my back at around 4.30am. Woke up at 7 feeling ok, by 7.30 was throwing up stomach acid.
Went straight to docs this morning, she tested my urine and said that while everything seems normal I do not look well at all and that I should stay off work for a few more days and signed me off with Hyperemisis Gravidarum. Also she wants to see me on Thurs to test urine again.
I also got given a prescription for Avomine. Dont know if I will take it but good to know it's there. Just worried now as I have DH's grandma's funeral on Weds and would be devastated if I couldn't go and pay my respects.

Anyway I just thought I'd post in case anyone else is really struggling with the MS and finding it hard to function - please see your doc, they can help.

Lastly she mentioned that some women who get it badly may be carrying twins. My DH thought this was HILARIOUS. I genuinely have no idea how I would cope!!

Wishing you all sticky beans and a lack of MS!

varicoseveined · 21/06/2010 11:16

peeking in

Hi everyone, I had a BFP nearly two weeks ago but due to MC in Feb last year have been hesitant to join. I'm 5 weeks along and my baby is due 21st Feb. Trying to keep it quiet until the scan, only DH and 2 friends know so far but I must say that I'm looking rather big already. I have a DD who is 3.

Deliaskis · 21/06/2010 11:37

Rachel1979, I am exactly the same, see my 'feeling not very pregnant' remark above!

I also worry that something is wrong, but in actual fact have no bad signs either, so have to stay positive and assume no news is good news!

Come back and post tomorrow after your scan...

Can't believe there are 73 people on here! AMAZING!!!

I am having trouser trouble today! My hips have just exploded out and I have a pot belly already. Its only been 4 months since I was pregnant last so I'm putting it down to having zero tummy tone and the fact that I've not stopped eating for 3 weeks!!! Anyone else "showing" more than expected?!

tabbycat76 · 21/06/2010 13:21

Well, I saw the GP today with my husband, the first step in reporting our pregnancy. So exciting. I almost feel like crying everytime I tell someone!!! Mad!

Anyway, he said book yourself in with the midwife and you'll get a scan around 11 weeks. Told him I was a bit worried at the lack of symptoms I'm having as I really don't feel any different at all (YET!) so he suggested talking to the midwife Thursday (when she's next in) and considering an early dating scan. I think if I'm in the same mind come Thursday I'll push for an early dating scan as I'm so confused. No period, 2 positive tests and sore boobs must equal pregnancy but why the lack of symptoms?! I'm worrying it's not growing so we shall see. Husbands not worried at all!

So that's about all he said. In and out!

If others are in exact the same position at almost 6 weeks please tell me as it'll reassure me I'm not a freak experiencing nothing!

Welcome to all the newbies - can't believe we're up to 73, that's great! All these new friends to chat to, brilliant!

Honeywitch · 21/06/2010 13:25

Hi all
Yes, i'm showing a bit, but it could just be a fat, untoned tummy! However, I can't wear my work trousers already as it hurts and I am much more comfy in maternity wear (plus it looks loose and nice, so noone will know!)

Had a bit of a drama yesterday - we were off to see my parents (Father's day, but also to tell them) and the car blew up! We sat on the M11 for an hour while they got to us and then when we got home, I'm afraid I dragged my partner out again in my car to see my parents bacause I couldn't stand the thought of another week bursting with my secret!

I gave my dad the father's day card and while he was opening it I gave my mum a card from their grandchild-to-be, saying hope to meet you in February. She took ages to open it and then stood there looking really puzzled an then finally got it! They were both delighted for us, so we had a lovely time.

Now got to buy another car though! :-(

nicb79 · 21/06/2010 14:05

caramel thinking of you. xxxx

I'm feeling awful...(sorry for those symptom free)absolutly wiped out. Having to spend regular rests on the sofa when my kids allow. Don't know how I will manage at work tomorrow.

Why is pregancny so hard...

I've had the extreme hunger too. What are people managing to eat, I find it a struggle to find anything I can stomach.

On the bras front, try to get one you can grow into a little or you can use as a nursing bra. You can also get bra extenders which just extend the back of the bra. I can't believe I got rid of all my maternity and nursing bras.

I'm not seeing midwife until 10 weeks now, hope that doesn't mean my scan will be delayed.

Love to all.

HazB2010 · 21/06/2010 14:58

hello all
73, wow!
I got my scan dates through today - 19 July (dating, probably about 11 wks), and booked a private nuchal test one (not available on the nhs in my area).
Feeling rough - not been sick, just feel constantly seasick! It's the tiredness I'm struggling with - I'm working in bed today, can't get up! Feel very pathetic but also too tired to care. Also ravenous but too seasick to be able to face much : ( I sound very grumpy, but am actually very excited! X

angels1 · 21/06/2010 15:22

hi all,

I've just been trawling the net for ms relief ideas other than ginger biscuits (if anyone else tells me to eat ginger biscuits...!). Found a very odd one I wondered if anyone knows about - said sleep with your feet elevated - something to do with oxidising the torso which reduces the risk of vomiting. Now, my school biology days are long gone so I can't work out how the theory actually works...but it sounds a bit suspect to me, and I don't want to be a right idiot by doing this only to find it makes no sense at all. Does anyone have any idea as to whether this could work?
