Hi everyone!

Well, I got my BFP on Friday morning and it is only just starting to sink in! According to my dates I am due 2nd Feb and I thought it would be nice to have a Feb babies thread, where we can all share our news/worries/excitement!

Cant wait to hear from you

Deliaskis I had absolutely no morning sickness with DS1 and think I've got away with one day of it with this one.... although that's obviously tempting fate in saying that and I'll be vomiting for the next 7 months....

Re tummy exercises when you get pregnant and as your bump develops the two main muscles that run vertically up the front of your stomach separate and the bump sort of pokes through them. If you keep doing lots of sit-ups you bugger up that muscle and it won't go back in place afterwards apparently!!

GinaFB so lovely to have seen the heartbeat - luck you. I'm keeping everything crossed for my 7 week scan tomorrow.

HazB2010 How shitty of them to 'out' you that is awful - poor you.

I put on my maternity jeans this morning - like a pair of old friends :-) Feel SO comfy... will have to resist the rest of the maternity wardrobe for a bit - much of it is quite obviously maternity wear and that'll be a total give-away! I live with my sister and can't see that I'll make it until after my 12 week scan to tell her - particularly as that scan is happening at 13.5 weeks.... I feel huge!

angels1 my 5 week scan was an internal one and my 7 week scan tomorrow will be too. I think they were saying that the 12 week scan is done internally too now - something to look forwards to....! The thing I find most disconcerting is the way they put a condom over the end of the probe... Although the rational part of my brain says this is perfectly sensible and a cost effective thing to do; the childish part can't stop sniggering...

GinaFB · 16/06/2010 12:52

MrsT I have used a local BUPA hospital that offers "pay as you go" treatments so avaliable to everyone. It cost £156 and they were fantastic, they really offered reassurance to me. If you contact BUPA they can give you the number of your local BUPA hospital. (Your health insurance won't cover anything to do with pregnancy!)

HazB2010 thats really naughty... I think my colleagues at work have guessed but I'm not saying anything until 12 weeks!

newdad where are you! Our stats need updating on your fancy spreadsheets!!!

canoe · 16/06/2010 13:10

I've got my doctors appt this afternoon - i just had to do another test to check i really was pg! I've not really got any symptoms, just sore boobs.

The system here will be a bit different as i live in botswana so not really sure what the processes are here.

CheeseChomper · 16/06/2010 13:11

Hi all,

I'm 7+1 today, feeling rubbish and just chucked up my lunch, my jacket potato made an unwelcome reappearance (sorry, tmi!). Luckily i'm working from home today, so can feel sorry for myself and have my head down the bowl in private!

Generally I haven't actually been sick much- only twice now, but have felt nauseous quite a lot, and have 'gone off' foods in general but weirdly eating something seems to help the sick feeling.

I'm normally starving in the run up to breakfast, lunch, dinner etc, but at the moment i'm just not bothered and don't feel particularly hungry. Sweet stuff seems to help, which doesn't bode well for keeping fairly trim in pregnancy- I had planned on super-healthy eating and carrying on with exercise, but at the moment i'm just too knackered!

Peanut butter and nutella sarnies are my new favourite thing!

Grannyapple · 16/06/2010 14:19

Hey canoe-good to c u on here too-trying to flit btwn here & the JS thread!

I am totally with you-have mw appt on Monday & still don't believe I am pg. I too bought another test ( using it tonight) to still convince myself as I have virtually no symptoms ( although belly button feels like it us being stretched a bit today-hmmm..)

RachelPross · 16/06/2010 15:33

Hi all,

I am 6 weeks exactly today, feeling wretched...sick yesterday after breakfast and lunch. No sickness today but nausea and I feel exhausted. I have a very busy 2 year old and 4 year old who are very sweet and try to help because they know I'm not feeling 100%.....but all I want to do is crawl into bed and sleep till week 12!!!
Luxkily I work from home so I can snooze if necessary and work when I've recharged my batteries a bit.
I've heard from a few people that the more babies you have the worse the pg symptoms are...anyone else finding this to be true?

Fpr those of you who have no symptoms....enjoy it, I had none until about 3 days ago and now the morbning sickness has hit like a ton of bricks

smallblackflowers · 16/06/2010 16:07

Hi!

Like you rachelpross my sickness well and truly kicked in at 6 weeks (yesterday). And bf is getting more painful by the day.

I am able to eat pineapple, twiglets, ham sandwiches made with milk roll, and can drink lime cordial with sparkling water. I really don't want potatoes or anything chocolatey.

On a positive note, within about 5 mins of putting some acubands on my wrists I felt significantly better.

My viability scan is booked with Baby Premier and is costing £85. Its next weds when I'll be 7+2.

Still haven't heard anything from a midwife, and its been a week and a half since seeing the GP and him submitting a form on my behalf. May chase tomorrow if I feel up to it.

nicb79 · 16/06/2010 16:23

I'm hungry all the time...and eating rubbish, opps.

Hair seems to be getting greasy very quickly, anyone else finding that? maybe its just me!

Looks like I have 1 more week till the sickness starts...

xx

sweetnitanitro · 16/06/2010 16:23

I'm not feeling too sick today but am utterly exhausted and DD has been the toddler from hell today.

RachelPross if that is true about the pregnancy symptoms getting worse then this will be the last time! First pregnancy was absolutely awful. Still, you forget it all once you get your little bundle of joy, don't you?

I may be computerless for a couple of days, doing some furniture rearranging so my daughter can have her own little room. I will miss co-sleeping with her but there won't be room in bed once I'm huge and then when the new baby comes along.

GinaFB · 16/06/2010 16:43

smallblackflowers I heard somewhere that pineapple can cause MC... I will check though. x

GinaFB · 16/06/2010 17:09

smallblackflowers ignore me totally!!!!

see here

tabbycat76 · 16/06/2010 20:23

Like a lot of you, I too am a little worried about few symptoms. VERY sore boobs now and the faintest of nausea but generally in the morning. Nothing more at all! Guess that should be a blessing in disguise!

I've been a little cold too - so a boy eh?!?!? Interesting! I'm sure my hubby will love that! I've just come home from meeting a friend to find my husband who is normally the one who feels the cold, with all the windows open and a big chill in the house! Surely if I'm cold he should be like an icicle?!? But no! Big woolly jumper on for me!

Also, big congratulations to the newbies - always good to extend our own mini baby boom (and we are PRE world cup mummies to be) and also big congratulations to those that are 5 weeks today! A whole 2.5 mm long! Now that makes me feel pregnant!

earlgreyismynectar · 16/06/2010 20:52

Hi everyone and welcome newbies! Brilliant news tadjenny and ginaFB what a relief for you both! You can now relax and enjoy your pregnancy! The rest of us will be there in the next month! I look forward to hearing everyone's news! Good luck for tomorrow knitternottwitter. Deliaskis I too had no MS with DC1 and she was born very healthy! Consider yourself lucky if you don't get it! I'm 6 weeks today and despite feeling nauseus (particularly in the morning) I haven't been sick yet, fingers x'd. My main symptoms are being SO bloated, I'm already having to wear loose/drapey tops to hide my tummy as it is seriously distended!! I'm still managing to fasten my jeans but only cos they're low on the hip! Very tired, unfocused and I suffer no fools just now. Cheerios are my new morning friend, sure it's the sugar hit! Cups of tea (bog standard complete with caffeine) are keeping me right too. I'm liking the sound of Nutella & peanut butter cheesechomper, found myself buying Nutella for the first time in years the other day so I obviously thought I needed it! The big shock craving for me today was an M&S egg & bacon sarnie today! I don't eat bacon / red meat, so that was a surprise and god it was good! Still generally off food. I'm hoping the healthy cravings will kick in soon, withy last preg it was grapefruit, ate a whole one everyday.

nicb79 my hair seems to be getting lank fast too! We should be blossoming and abundant soon though...

HazB you have my sympathies for being outed. As I've already mentioned on here I was outed at work in last preg by a good friend (& she remains a good friend! But I felt so let down at the time). I told her in confidence as soon as I found out at 5 weeks. I made it official at 12 weeks, little did I know half the work force knew my secret at 5 weeks (sigh)... This is the reason that I feel strongly to keep this one toyself for as long as I can possibly get away with it (which judging by my distended tummy won't be long!). Hope you can tell everyone else in your way and in your time.

Mrsteapot I think a little (or a lot) of whatever you fancy is the only way to go just now, however bizarre or repetitive!! I knew someone who craved chalk on her pregnancy (seriously) she said she tried every kind of chalk but dressmakers chalk in those shiny triangles, was the best and she simply HAD to have it! At least you're craving real food!!

Wishing you all well x

earlgreyismynectar · 16/06/2010 20:55

Sorry for all the typo's, speed typing on iPhone

georginga · 16/06/2010 21:14

Hi, found out this morning at work... I only did the test as I had a dream last night! I started charting my BBT well into my cycle 2 weeks ago and was concerned that my temps seemed a little low and was anovulatory. I carried on as i figured when it drops after my period it would reassure me. It didn't drop and i never got my period and now i know why.
Im only 5wks +3 based on last period so i'm not getting hopes up yet. Have no symptoms wot so ever, going to see dr tomorrow. fingers crossed it'll be ok

Lulabel27 · 16/06/2010 21:26

Hi friends!
I had my dating scan today and found out that I'm 7+5 amazing how accurate they can be! I guess that means I'm technically due in January but please let me stay

It was incredible to see the little heartbeat which made me forget I had a 12inch condom and KY covered probe up my doo-dah. I suppose I should get used to losing my respectibility!

I have to go back in 4 weeks for the 12 weeks scan but its made me feel a lot better about not having many symptoms (just sore boobs and emotional!). So for everyone else worried about lack of symptoms I would just say don't worry and enjoy it

Kez84 · 16/06/2010 21:49

Hi just updating my ?? had to change my EDD to the 14th based on the doctors date wheel but thats based on a 28day cycle and mine is 21 so i shall have to wait for the scan. Not feeling to bad at the moment just a bit of sickness, dizzy, sore boobs and really tired. we've told our parents, mainly due to being really excited and i can't keep a secret!

Evening all.

Not much in the way of symptoms for me yet. I'm feeling a little light headed, anyone know whats needed to get one of those tfl baby on board badges?

KnitterNotTwitter · 16/06/2010 23:09

gigglet you can get straight to them via email at [email protected], or ring up London Underground customer services on 0845 330 9880

gigglet · 16/06/2010 23:24

Ok, thanks KnitterNotTwitter. I've now sent an email so hopefully I'll know tomorrow. I'm guessing they need something signed.

I've passed out on the tube before (not preg related - was just sick) and it wasn't a pleasant experience, being trapped, then getting off at some random location where you get to sit and contemplate whether to get back on or get a taxi home... I want to get this badge sorted out before I really need it!

earlgreyismynectar · 17/06/2010 07:01

canoe look forward to hearing about your experience and how it differs in Botswana. We have the same EDD! Take care

tabbycat76 · 17/06/2010 08:31

Morning everyone - hope all are well!

Ok, I have a question but feel it may be a little too early in the day to ask but it's starting to get to me....

I'm just wondering if anyone else has denied their partner any bedroom antics since they've found out they're pregnant? My reason for doing so is because of my boobs which have become lots more sore over the past couple of days, to the point that I'm having to hold them as I run down the stairs. Is this normal behaviour to not want to do 'anything' or is my husband right in feeling neglected?!?!? He's beginning to feel that I only wanted him to get me pregnant - silly fool!!

Sorry for asking a question like this so early on but I just want to know if I'm not alone (or am!) Thanks guys.

KnitterNotTwitter · 17/06/2010 08:36

tabbycat76 it's totally normal to just not want sex for the first trimester if I remember rightly. Then second and third trimester I was extremely 'up for it' DH was overjoyed . You should just do what feels right IMO

KnitterNotTwitter · 17/06/2010 08:41

Adding georginga to the stats list - welcome new person and 'congratulations' you didn't say your 'stats' could you let us know for the list, we'd love to know your due date, age and whether you have any other DC....
