Calm down Happy, vbac is vaginal birth after caesarian - dd was undiagnosed breech. Some hopsitals/mws try to push you towards another section right from the word go rather than letting you attempt to labour. I've been reading up and intend to be stroppy firm at consultant's appointment in a fortnight! But it's good to know that the mw (even if not attached to hospital) is positive and she reckons the consultant is too. Hope the carpel tunnel clears up - ouch!

Boodle that sounds horrid! Put your feet up and rest, lady. And reassure yourself that at least if the worst happens and the baby is born early it is within the 'viable' area so all should be well. But I really hope that gets better for you soon, you deserve a bit of break.

Oh and Gilda it was AT LEAST 300 - mini out of piping bag mind, each one's only about 3 inches accross, but still... A busy day... And still have to stick them all togather with cream on saturday. Yay.

Meita · 16/06/2010 16:15

Unbuffy, yet another heartbeat heard - yay! Keep it up everyone!

Boodle, pre-eclampsia is scary. But then, these days once it's diagnosed, they can look after you. At worst, they'll make you have your baby earlier. Yours might yet arrive before mine! Though I hope not, obviously. My cousin had pre-eclampsia and spent some time in hospital being observed and treated. Now she has healthy 18 months old twins.
What made you think at 27 weeks that your baby was arriving? Did you have contractions? That must have been terribly scary. I remember waking up in the middle of the night at about 26 weeks, being in pain, and thinking "this is it" - it's such a shock to the system. But it hasn't happened since - must have been a first bad BH or something.

I'm finding this last trimester passing soooo slowly. Just about like the first. Keep thinking lots of time has gone by, then realise that it has only been one day. The middle trimester just flew past in comparison!

Does anyone have any thoughts on what might be up with me losing weight recently? I was gaining steadily but slowly throughout the second trimester, but now I've lost about a kg in the last three weeks. I thought weight-gain was supposed to be strongest/fastest in the last trimester?

LilRedWG · 16/06/2010 16:37

Lovely - more heartbeats.

Boodle - SPD sucks. I was told to take early ML and didn't, stupidly. I battled on, trying to keep everyone happy and believe me - it really isn't worth it! Please take good care of yourself.

I'm having a bit of a panicky day - again - as I'm drinking a cup of tea and don't feel too sick, just a bit burpy. I hate this! I just wish I knew one way or another what was going to happen.

Gi1da · 17/06/2010 07:02

Boodle crikey lady, no more scary stuff! Do rest up and look after yourself. So sorry you've been having a rough time, hope it settles. Absolute bugger about the fibroid. Sometimes you just have to wonder about mother nature, I mean surely that's just plain mean? Fx you have a nice gentle week ahead (well longer than that obv but I'm just preparing to be gone a week iyswim).

Meita hope you get an answer on the weight thing, am sure you mw will reassure you. Funny how pregnancy turns everything upside down, normally that's something to break out the bunting for! I'm expecting to lose a bit after giving up the booze!

Zayja how fab to hear the heartbeat! And at least by the time you have your scan you'll have a photo you can show without having to interpret the blob, yes ah, that end's the head and ah, those must be the legs, ooh a boy, no that's the cord....

Toomt 10+5 today - congrats on trouncing that milestone yaaaaaaaaay!

Buffs have a superfab party. I hope the meringues are a sensation and your boobs stay in your dress!

LilRed hugs to you, it IS such a drag and there's just nothing you can do but try not to fret. Of course we can always slap you round the chops with the thread halibut to knock you out till you reach 12 weeks. Let me know, I'll limber up.

Happy sorry to hear about the carpal, good luck with it. I didn't know water could help, note to self, drink more! Good luck with your appt next week. Happy heartbeats here we come!

Reds I love north Kent, my folks are on the coast a few miles before Margate. What a great place to bring up a family. Respect to you on the house project too!

Clarea hope the pain has gone, honestly we just don't need all these stupid twinges but I guess there's a lot going on down there. Sometimes things shift gently and sometimes it just adds up to a sudden ouch!

Lovely Alba you'll be past 12 weeks and have had your scan by the time I'm back, will be sending you seaside good luck vibes.

Ooh I'm running out of time, alarm due to go off and we will be running round to pack (ended up leaving office at bloody 8pm yesterday which I was not happy about) so didn't get organised last night.

Ladies, wishing you well one and all. Have a wonderful week, if Jolls has joined the thread by the time I get back I swear I will wet myself with excitement!

Love to all xx omg I'm off to the sea! Woooooot woooooooooot!!!!!

diggingforvictory · 17/06/2010 09:41

Goodness, I go away from the computer for a couple of days and look at all the activity! Congrats to lots and lots of you who've had scans and heard heartbeats. It's so reassuring isn't it.

Happy, I had carpal tunnel with my son, but it didn't start until about 30 weeks. I'd been hoping to spend lots of time playing the piano as soon as I stopped work, but was in too much pain after the first couple of minutes. There was nothing I could do, but maybe you can do something this early on.

Meita, are you eating smaller meals by any chance? You're stomach will be all squashed up by now, so you might be eating less hence losing weight? I'm sure the baby will be absolutely fine - your body will rob itself of nutrients to feed the baby. Hopefully your mw will put your mind at rest.

Have a lovely holiday Gilda!

AlbaDeTamble · 17/06/2010 15:00

Quick list update... have added a missing in action section because this is a huuuuge list to have to update. Left most because some people only pop in occasionally, but have been lurking on Dec and Jan antenatal threads and JodieO is very active over on December... Anyone at a different stage from me having seen anything similar, please reduce the active list length! (though it is of course lovely to see there are so many of us...)

sorry a bit too tired for name checks -- everything Gilda said!

First day off sick yesterday. Having finally started to feel better, suddenly got every symptom back with a vengeance, felt utterly dreadful. Wanted to sleep, but lying down made me sick, so then had to get up... you get the picture... much more human again today

hope everyone else well

toomuchteaching · 17/06/2010 15:02

Gi1da thank you for the pompom action, I am now officially more pregnant than I have ever been!

Have a lovely holiday!

sparklyrainbow · 17/06/2010 16:20

Wow, it's all exciting on here while I've been gone! (Sadly Alba honeymoon didn't last that long but I've been busy with work and feeling awful!)

Congrats to everyone who's had good news this week, very exciting. I seem to have missed a lot, Gi1da did a good job with her name checking- hope you're having a lovely holiday- so am sort of updated by one post! Shall have to start paying more attention though yay for Toomuch!

Told my head today I'm pregnant as I've had a couple of days off this week with the worst sickness so far and she wanted to discuss my plans for next year. Have scan Monday and she's keeping it confidential for a while anyway so that's good

Sparkles and good wishes to all x

Hello all,

My goodness, can't and won't try to match namechecking feats thaqt have gone before. Blimey, musta taken you a week to write that, lady! Have a fab time at the seaside, enjoy the rest.

Hi and mad waving at everyone else, good to see you again sparkly, and have a lovely weekend all. Will probably be AWOL as as parentals (see 300 meringues) until Sunday, so nothing dramatic is to happen until I get back, m'kay? A nice, peaceful, relaxed weekend is to be had by all

Will let you know if my dress falls off if/when I recover from shame...

LadyBee · 17/06/2010 22:47

You'd have to be InBuffy then

My GP has referred me for a scan. It's so incredibly early I'm sure it's going to be completely un-reassuring and inconclusive but I guess I may as well go up and get in the system, presumably they'll just ask me back in a couple of weeks if they can't tell for sure.

So that's tomorrow spent waiting in the charming environment of my local EPAC. Oh Boodle I think we must be neighbours - were you at Queen Elizabeth? That's where I had DS.

I'm sleepy. Tomorrow will be a bit shit, but hopefully in the afternoon I'll be able to catch up properly. See you all soon.

AlbaDeTamble · 18/06/2010 08:27

Best of luck for today LadyBee

diggingforvictory · 18/06/2010 08:38

Good luck *Ladybee". I hope you see something, but please don't worry if you don't as it's so early.

LilRedWG · 18/06/2010 10:42

Best of luck Ladybee - it is so early, so don't worry too much (as if that's possible ) if you don't see anything.

Take care.

Goodluckbear · 18/06/2010 11:43

Good luck Ladybee - same as what the others said. My mate just had a scan at over 5 weeks and she just saw a dark blob. But you're right it's good to get in the system, they'll probably have you back in a couple of weeks which will be good.

xxx

clareanna · 18/06/2010 15:26

Hi all I'll be joining ladybee and having a scan later on. One sided pain and cramping got a bit worse and now got bad tummy. Spoken to epu and am off the gps for referral. Am just hoping it's a cyst and a tummy bug, nothing more

Goodluckbear · 18/06/2010 15:34

Good luck clareanna too, hope the scan puts you mind at rest. Will be thinking of you xxx

zayja · 18/06/2010 16:16

Good luck clareanna and ladybee, hoping for good and reassuring news.

congrats unbuffy on hearing the heartbeat as well, isn't it a great feeling? When they booked me for a 21w scan, they said exactly that g1lda, that way I'll be assured a great picture, so now it's the waiting game!

Aw boodle, do rest and take care of yourself. I'm almost a bit envious of being ordered to take it easy, but I know it that's ridiculous and a much more worrisome than restful time. Will be thinking of you and hoping all is well!!

meita, not sure about the weight loss, have you uncovered anything in your research? Probably nothing to be worried about - maybe a few less stretch marks too!

LadyBee · 18/06/2010 17:18

Clareanna I really hope all is well with you and that the scan is reassuring - hope your unit stays open long enough (or can scan you tomorrow if not) and you don't have to wait too long.

Well, as we thought, it was too early to get a definitive result on the scan - they saw a gestational sac and yolk sac and the sonographer said that there was the tiniest 'white line' but she didn't want to confirm whether that was a fetal pole. So for my dates this is pretty much on target and they will scan me again in two weeks, when hopefully they will be able to see something more positive.
So at least I know the tests didn't lie despite my lack of symptoms, it's not ectopic and it's not twins (unless there's two lurking in the one sac!).

Waiting was difficult. I deliberately sat in a different part of the room from the last time I was there, but at one point a little one started crying for her mummy (she was waiting with Dad outside) and it just set me off (hormones much?) I also found it incredibly hard seeing a couple of women come out after talking to the nurses obviously upset. It was only just over 2 months ago that that was me.

I put a lot of my emotions on hold when I started ttc again, thinking that probably it would hit me hard when I didn't get pregnant again straight away. It feels pretty close to the surface right now, but I've got to go and pick up DS soon so got to keep it under wraps for a little while longer.

toomuchteaching · 18/06/2010 17:50

LadyBee keep positive, it sounds good so far, so hold on to that for now. I know that's not going to be easy though. I didn't have any symptoms at all that early. It's been such a short time for you, I was a wreck for months and months after my mc, so I think you're brave just going through it this quickly. We'll all be keeping everything crossed for you.

Good luck clareanna too, hope you get the answers you're looking for.

I'm actually a bit jealous of 300 meringues, I'm so hungry I think I could eat them all myself! Good luck with the dress situation Unbuffy, hope you stay in!

Have a lovely weekend ladies, restful, quiet and unexciting.

clareanna · 18/06/2010 18:58

Hi thanks for your thoughts ladybee glad you feel a bit reassured- I know what you mean about returning to the epu- I had a few tears too. Was introduced to the delights of the internal scan (know now how it got it's nickname) and baby in the right place with a heartbeat- yay ! They did find a dermoid cyst and a corpeus luteum cyst on left ovary which explains the pain. Dermoid cust will be monitored- fx it doesn't grow . Next scan on 13 July

LadyBee · 18/06/2010 21:03

Oh that's fantastic clareanna - heartbeat is great news.

I'm absolutely starving - have already eaten an enormous plate of sausage, mash, peas and am seriously contemplating a bowl of cereal to fill up.

Am also weirdly cold. Actually I think that might pg related, I remember getting the shivers a lot early on last time too.

Maybe a hot chocolate would be the thing

SamanthaB123 · 18/06/2010 21:07

Hello, having a miserable time and haven't posted in a while. I've been having severe back pain on the left side and some lower abdominal pain too. I've been to hospital twice now and while the baby is fine I'm still waiting for a diagnosis. They think that it is ureteric colic which is pain associated with a blockage in the kidney - maybe a kidney stone. I am going for a kidney scan on Monday which should give some answers and over the weekend I just have to manage the pain with paracetamol. I was given buscopan to take as well but it isn't entirely recommended in pregnancy so I've decided not to take it. I know it's great that the baby is fine but I feel really flat and am very uncomfortable.

Hope everyone else is ok, I haven't read all the posts so if I've missed something important I'm sorry! SB x

HappyGirl1 · 19/06/2010 10:49

Clareanna Ladybee really glad to see that you both had positive scans although sorry to hear about your cyst.. I have had lots of cysts in my time and was really worried before getting pg about them but was told that the cyst won't actually impact the baby but obviously will cause you pain. Hope your okay.

Ladybee good news they saw a sac.. just take it really really easy now

SamB really sorry to hear you are in such pain you poor thing that's terrible. great the baby is good though that's fab but realy hope they do something to relieve your pain on Monday.

No news with me, finding this time a bit of an odd one, still getting quite a bit of nausea more to be honest in the last week (15 weeks) than at all and that's good it gives me some confidence I guess but it would just be great to have some way of knowing every day that the baby is okay.

Really struggling to not lie on my back in bed too and I read that's not good for baby but honestly I just keep waking up on my back - hopefully it's okay.

well have a good saturday one and all

LadyBee · 19/06/2010 19:23

HappyGirl lying on your back is really only a problem when the baby is much bigger and is heavy enough to press on the veins and compress them - you'd feel the effect if this was happening so if you're not feeling odd lying on your back it's fine. Honestly, stay comfortable while you can!
