Hello hello helloo!!

Big welcome to LadyBee and LilRed - congratulations. If you look under your seat you will find your complimentary tickets to the Emotional Dufferatory Rollercoaster.
Small print: Please note this ride may cause nausea, bladder weakness and mental inbalance, but the company is great.

So, everything went perfectly today. Little poppet was bouncing about, measuring spot on for dates and nuchal was 1.3.

Amazing that is has doubled in size since last scan two weeks ago. Is no wonder I haz been knackerated!

BTW yesterday's non-vegetarian apparel comment reminded me of this which I saw years ago and can't believe is still running. Yes ladies, for those special occasions, I give you Hats of Meat.

Jolls ahem - ladies in a line please - Mexican wave for Jolls. Fingers still crossed for you my lovely.

Meita we have a second bedroom - but it has been full of massive slabs of mdf since we moved in 9 months ago and ripped out some hideous fitted cupboards out of our bedroom. They are too big to fit in the car and we've just been ignoring them. Baby will have to live in the bathroom. Was wondering what everyone was doing, particularly if first child, or if second will they be sharing or are you still in spare room diy paralysis?

TFLS I suspect I may be in the same state as you in 8 months time! Whhhaaaat t f - a baby???!!

Air kisses all around - am a bit too dizzy to think coherently, will pop back later.

x

Unbuffy · 15/06/2010 17:12

Gilda - Big congrats and WTF??? (re hats of meat) On wierd websites (but not as icky), try jelly fun And don't TALK to me about mdf. I SWEAR dh keeps those big sheets as PETS. FOREVER.

Grrr...

Anyhoo, dancing bebes are good, very pleased for you!

barrenbrook · 15/06/2010 17:27

Ladies, just popping head in to see how you are all doing, super pleased to see all is well, spesh with ( in no particular order ) Gi1da, GLB, Alba, Meita, Boodles, LeeWT, Louisesh, MrsRigby, Effi, SamB, Unbuffy, HappyGirl and Zayja. Glad to see scan went well Gi1da.

Mucho love to you all x

Goodluckbear · 15/06/2010 17:36

Congrats Gilda!! That's great news.

Try www.takeaweirdbreak.com for a good afternoon laugh.

Can I be crazy hormonal paranoid lady for a moment - when I had my scan last week the baby didn't move around much - they kept poking my belly and had me jump up and down to get him to move but he didn't. He made a couple of little movements but not much. Does that sound ok? Because lots of people mention seeing the babies moving around loads at the 12 week scan and he/she wasn't doing that at all.

I don't know why I'm getting worried, I presume the sonographer would've said if it was a problem.

xxx

Goodluckbear · 15/06/2010 17:37

Ooooo - hello Barrenbrook!! Cross posts. Good to see you lady

xxx

Unbuffy · 15/06/2010 17:49

GLB mine would not move either. Half rolled once, then settled back face down like a sleepy puppy. dd danced manically, but this 'n refused to move despite me jiggling, wiggling, drinking cold water, peeing, and running up and down three flights of stairs twice. I reckon we've got lazy boys in there! Don't let it get you down.

Big waves to Barrenbrook! Nice to see you, to see you, Bruce!

Goodluckbear · 15/06/2010 17:51

Thanks Unbuffy - think I'm in a lunatic mood today.

AlbaDeTamble · 15/06/2010 18:14

Great news Gi1da! Now you can kick back, relax and have a lovely holiday

good to see you Barrenbrook, hope both you and Jollster will be back here really soon, and Cheepz too, seems like the longest work notice ever, bet it feels even longer for you...

Hello LadyBee and LilRed and welcome

clareanna · 15/06/2010 20:04

Gi1da wonderful news! soooo pleased for you! can't yet imagine what it will be like being in that scan waiting room again. Am sounding a celebratory vuvuzela in your bean's honour - DUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRR

(this is my favourite joke at the moment - sorry)

randomimposter · 15/06/2010 20:07

TERRIFIC news for the Gildmeister. Collective sigh and relief and big grin all round x

randomimposter · 15/06/2010 20:07

sigh of relief obviously - doh

HappyGirl1 · 15/06/2010 20:28

HUGE BIG CONGRATULATIONS GILDA I'm literally over the moon! If i had the energy i'd jump up and do you a little celebratory jig but i'm too wrecked to move off this sofa! Huge big congrats, you must be over the moon!

No news here in HappyGirl world, a few family bits going on so been a bit stressful but sure all okay in the end. then our heat broke this evening - all happens at once! All i care about is the little baby inside me though, I hope it can survive a day of mum to be being stressed.. super calm now though!

hi to all!

LilRedWG · 15/06/2010 21:26

That's fantastic G1lda - I love that feeling, although when we finally had a positive scan with DD I went into shock - DH literally had to steer me as I walked as I was so out of it.

I spoke to my lovely GP and she has told me that she agrees an early scan would help me and that when I am 6+3 I should see the duty doctor with "cramps and maybe some spotting". That way I'll get a referal for an early scan. Apparently the EPU won't accept for just reassurance, even after multiple miscarirages.

So in two weeks time I should know if this one has a little heartbeat or not.

Thank you all again for your warm welcome. I'm not to hot on posting all the time but will pop in as often as possible.

Take care.

Gi1da · 15/06/2010 21:46

A meeellion thank yous for the lovely well-wishes (top marks for musical accompaniment and dance). You ladeez is truly da bestest.

Clarea I was lucky, the waiting room and scan rooms for today were in a separate area just before you get to the EPU so I didn't have to be in the same place. BIG phew!! Not sure if this is standard.

LilRed sounds like your gp is doing a great job of looking out for you. Dr Gilda also prescribes lots of chilling out and relaxation.

Salute to Barrenb hope you're doing well x

oh and Buffigella did I read that right - 300 meringues? 300? Blaahdy ell!

Wishing you all a good night's rest

LadyBee · 15/06/2010 22:41

Evening! Guess what! NZ didn't get eaten all up in their game today

Gi1da - hoorah! I did a little skip and hop when I read your post (and thank you for the tickets, I'm picturing them on gold-foil a la chocolate factory)

Redhead - goodness I'm not surprised you whimper at the thought of all that. Definitely the NCT classes will help with meeting people beforehand. Where 'south' are you going? An ex-sweetshop sounds just delightful but I expect with lots of work to do it doesn't feel storybook right now. And a 2-hour commute sheesh. Poor you . Don't forget about MN local or meetups as a way to meet people - I met a lovely local new mum on my antenatal group last time around and are still friends.

LilRed what a great GP!

GoodLuckBear and Unbuffy, very of your holidays - especially a weekend away from toddler. GLB I'm positive the sonographer would have raised it if they were worried. Probably your bean was just asleep! They go through periods of rest and activity as will become much more clear once you start feeling their movements.

LilRed I added you to the list, I hope I got your stats right?

Congrats Gi1lda! You must be so relieved now!

Thanks everyone for advice/comments re: baby panic... yes we are planning on having minimeita stay with us in the beginning, and we're planning on being a bit minimalistic on the acquisitions front. I just hope that planning permission does come through, else I don't know what we'll do in the mid-term.

A good wave to BB - nice of you to check in! Wishing you all the best on the TTC front.

Need to sleep - shouldn't be up this late anyway! So good night everyone!

zayja · 16/06/2010 04:29

Hi Ladies,
Typed a post yesterday and lost it due to "updating the server"?! grrr.

Anyway, basic gist was welcome lilred and ladybee and congratulations!
Also, good luck with getting through dates and assessment clareanna, I told myself that things wouldn't happen the same way twice.
meita, maybe take some extra time off if you feel like it and can afford to, that way you'll get a little relaxing and prep time before baby comes!

Congrats g1lda on you scan, what a great relief, eh?

I had also asked for good luck for my appt. today. Well, all went fine. No ultrasound until week 21 but heard a great stable heartbeat and that was reassuring enough. Now I can go ahead and announce. Anyone have a good or creative way to go about it? Don't really feel like just dropping it casually as I see friends but also don't really wanna post it on Facebook either...

Keep chuggin' along!

toomuchteaching · 16/06/2010 09:45

Brilliant gi1da, so pleased for you! I can't imagine the excitement!

Can I just quickly ask for some tea... or a big fish slap if you prefer!? 10+4 is the day to get past for me... and I'm just a bit... down.

I know, I know, I need to relax, it'll be fine.

Meita · 16/06/2010 09:49

Zayja, hearing the heartbeat is great! Glad it all went well. Sorry can't help with announcing, I sort of didn't - I told some people when it was unavoidable and then it kind of made the rounds. Not the best way of doing it though, I'd say!

toomucht, hang on in there.

clareanna · 16/06/2010 10:29

Popping on quickly for advice. Have had quite sharp ovary pain on left side and general down below achiness last night and continued this morning. On a course today and supposed to be on london tonight for a dinner and am freaking out a bit. Any thoughts? No spotting

Redheadgal · 16/06/2010 11:55

Brilliant news Gi1da - really pleased for you. Go and enjoy your hols.

Glad your appt went well too Zayja - can't wait to hear the heartbeat - have seen it during the scan, but hearing will make it seem so much more real.

ToomuchT - (gentle push towards positive thinking). And a big hug {{{ }}}

Clare - I had exactly the same sort of pain at about 6 weeks. Twice. The first time was completely out of the blue and I was doubled up in pain, the second time I'd been swimming and was worried I'd overdone it. Spent the rest of the day on the sofa with a general ache down there fretting. Turned out to be absolutely nothing to worry about. Try not to freak out. Random pains (without spotting) are pretty normal I believe.

Thanks for the sympathy strokes LadyB - it does feel rather overwhelming, but I guess we'll get through. We're moving down to north coast of Kent. I've already scoped out NCT classes, but at 10 weeks I'm still not ready to believe just yet. My DSD (aged 8) is pretty stoked that we're moving into a sweet shop although I have told her we won't be inheriting the merchandise!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Unbuffy · 16/06/2010 12:30

mw appt. Heard heartbeat! yay ! mw very positive about VBAC which helps as it's something I've started worrying about already. Think my mind has finally gone...

Clare Random pains regularly. Try not to fret too much.

Hello all else!

boodleboot · 16/06/2010 13:56

hello girls

just a quickie as am thoroughly miserable at the moment - great news about all the scans and heartbeats....we seem to be on a real run of good sticky beans which is wonderful to see!

I have had nightmare week with pre-eclampsia scare and bedrest...all is ok it seems for the moment but we had a real moment on monday where we totally freaked and thought that baby might be coming which at 27wks would be terrifying. I am taking it easy as much as poss and looking at starting maternity sooner as just cannot cope with the SPD and fact that my bump is measuring up at 32wks already (damn fibroid) - have scan next week to check growth of baby and fibroid...fingers crossed all is ok.

take care of eachother
xx

HappyGirl1 · 16/06/2010 14:17

Zayja congrats!!!!! That's great news!

Unbuffy yay for you too!! That's great they heard the heartbeat.. I'm so glad to hear that, I'm really hoping they will hear our babies heartbeat inside me next week too!

Never heard of VBAC, going to go have a look now on google. Worried I don't know enough. I've been scared of reading the pregnancy books ever since the MC but really must start back on them now.

Boodleboot you poor thing, really really glad that all is okay though but that was a real big scare. Poor Boodleboot. Good idea re looking at MC earlier.

Seems I've got Carpel Tunnel Syndrome which for 15 weeks is apparently very early. So drinking tons of water in the hope it will fix itself as I'd really rather not wear splints etc!

Happy Wednesday afternoon everyone
