Marrow - really hope things go ok for you, it sounds like you've been through so much. Fingers crossed that everything stays put.
Good luck Samantha and hope it all goes well for the scan!

louisesh · 06/06/2010 20:27

Wow a hive of activity!!! Hi to all newcomers.Welcome....

Hi BOODLE how you doing old chum??

GILDA my little librean is growing very nicely i feel soo FAT!!!!! Can deal with my stomach but not my face expanding!!!

Had a fab weekend away with family to start my sisters pre-wedding celebrations excellant just knackered now.Stayed in a lovely hotel, nice spa, fab food and excellant weather.

Good luck to all with up coming scans. Will sort out my mat leave at work tomorrow got my mat b1 form last week, soo that makes it worthwhile going in tomorrow!!!

Saw MW last week all well all measurements correspond with my dates...seeing her again in 5 weeks for my 28 weeks bloods and to sort out my "health in pregnancy grant"

Feelind odd little flutters now. like being tickled from inside or i need to fart!!!! 1 or the other anyhow!!!!!

clareanna · 06/06/2010 20:59

marrow good luck with you scan on fri- it sounds really positive so far though- hold on to that

ba8y how are you today?

unbuffy poor brian- will leave him in the capable hands on mrsg

dorcas how are you holding up?

samantha hope all went well today

louisesh can't believe they haven't done away with that maternity grant payment yet- seems like a big waste of cash to me- would be better giving vouchers for supermarkets that can only be redeemed on fruit and veg if that is what it's meant for!!! Not that i'll be turning mine down mind ... . Lovely that you're feeling flutters such an amazing feeling- can't wait!!

Well as for me- the mc related nightmares started last night - jeez that was fun! I'm v prone to nightmares if I'm stressed or got a big life event happening (had some brill ones before getting married- finding out dh was having an affair with my brother was a classic!!)
just hope the mc ones aren't frequent...

culina · 06/06/2010 21:25

Hi ladies

Thanks for your kind responses and for making me welcome here.

Dorcas ? How are you getting on? I agree with MsJL that it is sensible to go for the early scan slightly later ? at least when you reach 7 weeks as it should be more re-assuring.

Ba8y1 ? I am sorry to hear about your bleeding but please do not panic ? it may not be a bad sign. My friend had light bleeding throughout most of her pregnancy and all went well in the end. How are you getting on? Are you still going for your scan on Tue? I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

MsJL ? thanks for your advice. My scan is on Thursday when I should be past 7 weeks, so I am hoping to see a heartbeat there (if things are progressing well). Good luck with your scan on Tue ? keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Lotta123 · 06/06/2010 22:19

I'm four weeks pregnant after a MMC (two months ago too). Part of me is thrilled to bits as my husband and I really want this baby but I'm also scared.

My miscarriage happened in week nine, but the baby had stopped developing in week six. I found out at an EPU but got given incorrect advice about pain relief and ended up being rushed to hospital in an ambulance.

At the moment, I feel I'm trying to plan for a pregnancy and the possibility of a miscarriage.

I'm going to ask for some extra scans - one in week seven and then a week ten one as we're abroad in week twelve. I figure if anything is wrong then it can be dealt with (what an ugly phrase - apologies) before we travel - last miscarriage, we had to cancel our holiday as doctor wouldn't let us travel.

Also, nightmares for months after a miscarriage are really normal so hope that knowledge will reassure you, Dorcas. I've had some real horrors too. It sucks. You should be able to see a heartbeat in week six so do go for one if it'll help put your mind at rest.

Thinking of you.

dorcas111 · 07/06/2010 08:23

Hi, thanks everyone for asking after me. I'm doing ok- feeling a bit better now I've got past the six week mark, although still can't totally relax whenever I go to the toilet, I'm still bracing myself for the worst. No more nightmares though which is good. I have the day off today so I'm going to try and do nice things and look after myself. Might need to go bra shopping as well, as I am bursting at the seams a little in that department!
Hope everyone else is okay, those who are having scans today, good luck, I've got fx for you. Ba8y, hang on in there, I'll be thinking of you and hoping it will still all be okay.

Hiya all

Theme for today: ELO, Mr Blue Sky. Cos it's grey outside and I need the get-up-and-go...

Hello and congratters to all newbies (so many new folks, can't keep up! REally good news)

Hope scan went well SamB, and good luck to GLB and MsJL - looking forward to more good news!

Forgot to say in busy catch up post (Alba reminded me just there) - nice low risk after nuchal scan, even though they had to do it all upside down due to lazy bean... So that's good too.

Have just found nice big pair of trousers in the bottom of my drawers (chest of, not pants!) - hoorah! Bit of adaptation and another item of clothing that fits - woohoo!

MsJL · 07/06/2010 13:57

Ba8y1 how have you been over the last couple of days? Do you have a scan booked?

Marrow Welcome and congratulations on last week's positive scan. I am sending you much love - you've obviously had a horrendous time but this is all sounding good.

naitimum as sending you lots of positive vibes. As someone with a background of 3 mmc and no DC I don't know what I can say to re-assure you but just take each day as it comes and look after yourself. Little treats can brighten up the bleakest day.

I am incredibly distressed at the idea of my scan tomorrow. I have never been scanned at 7 wks before. The previous scans which found non-viable pregnancies were all later so I have to say that I honestly have no hope for tomorrow. I felt so down yesterday, I didn't know what to do with myself.

It is DH's birthday this evening so I am summoning all my powers to give him a nice evening. Wish I wasn't going to hospital tomorrow.

Goodluckbear · 07/06/2010 17:38

MrsJL - all the best most positive vibes for tomorrow's scan, will be thinking of you xxxx

MsJL · 07/06/2010 17:43

Thanks so much Goodluckbear x

Gi1da · 07/06/2010 20:50

Seconding the well wishes for tomorrow MsJL. Hoping for you this one's a keeper x

Ba8y1 · 07/06/2010 21:29

Hi girlies

Firstly apologies if you are reading this before dinner, hope there?s not tmi!

Thank you all so so much for all your messages since Saturday ? am not usually one to ask for support and it was just so lovely to have it from people who actually know what all this can feel like.
However I am now allowing myself to feel more cautiously optimistic ? after the (somewhat small) bleed on Saturday morning the seemingly inevitable cramps and clots did not materialise and I was bleeding free (though with some brown discharge) until Sunday night when again I had a small bleed. I have had nothing since. Both bleeds were associated with opening my bowels (sorry this is the TMI bit!!) and I found a thread on MN where other people had had this due to cervical erosions ? so all in all I feel a little better ? perhaps all is not lost! Does anyone have any thoughts on this??!!

Anyway I am going to see the doc tomo and will hopefully be scanned by the end of the week ? having been through the mc thing before am not in a huge hurry to be told its all over so not pushing for urgent appnts/scans!! Will let you know the outcome!

At least now I can concentrate on all your stories!! Though I will only be adding myself to the list once scan is done as I have no idea re my dates! (no AF since mc).

MrsJL ? wishing you lots of luck for tomorrow?s scan ? will be thinking of you ? let us know how it goes. Marrow ? hope yours on Friday goes well ? so sorry to hear your story ? fingers and toes crossed for you!

SamanthaB ? hope your scan went well?

Gi1da ? Only one week till the big ?12? ? so excited for you! Hope you have a fantastic holiday!

Completely sympathise with the nightmares clareanna ? having those too ? the mind is one tricksy operator! Though the ones about having twins are more wishful thinking than nightmares I think?!!

Sending huge congrats to all fellow newbies ?and lots of luck and sticky vibes to all!

Once again, huge thanks for all the messages of support ? such a lovely thread to be on!

clareanna · 07/06/2010 22:07

MrsJL hope scan goes well tomorrow

Ba8y I have a "friable cervix" which means it easily bleeds if knocked. I had a lot of breakthrough bleeding when I was on the pill, and this was eventually established as the cause. as the pill mimics pregnancy hormones, during my first pg I also had bleeds at 6 and 9 weeks (once after sex) so am aware that I am prone to bleeding when pg.
Hope this helps. When was your last smear? did the nurse mention cervical erosions then at all?

Ba8y1 · 07/06/2010 22:13

Yeah I have a 'marked cervical ectropion' due to 12 years on the pill. Hoping it is that playing up now rather than the alternative!

Night all

Cheepz · 08/06/2010 11:17

meita - OMG just noticed you are top of the list - closely followed by Boo, Lee and TFLS. Feel like expectant aunt so glad you have all made it to this point and am sure will be happy news all round come the autumn.

I am still WTTC with new job and house move and all that taking the time. Have now had all the tests after last mc in April and all clear on all fronts just waiting for the kareotyping test but they reckon its 99% all clear because of DS

So come the summer will start trying again.

Good to see my team going strong!!

Congrats to everyone else and big wave...

Goodluckbear · 08/06/2010 11:45

Big wave to Cheepz!! Hope the new job and house are going well. Good luck for the TTC in the summer, sending positive sticky BFP type vibes your way.

MsJL · 08/06/2010 13:18

I don't have good news to share I'm afraid. No fetal pole seen so ERPC booked for Thursday morning. I cannot quite believe this is happening again. It was so depressing going through the whole thing this morning: filling out forms and being given leaflets you've been given before.

I have to admit that even though I was pretty sure it wouldn't be positive there was still a part of me that thought it would come good this time around. I think I was just trying to prepare myself for the worst in the hope it would make things easier - it hasn't.

I'm not sharing this to scare anyone - you have to remember that I'm the tiniest percentage of the population and there is much hope out there for all of you. I wish you healthy and happy pregnancies and thank you for all your support over the last couple of weeks.

xx

Gi1da · 08/06/2010 13:35

oh bloody hell MsJL I'm so very sorry. I know there's nothing to say that can help, but I do so wish you all the best for the future x

AlbaDeTamble · 08/06/2010 13:42

MsJL, so sorry to read your update. If I recall you're seeing Prof Regan? Hoping that she'll be able to find some reasons for you and that you will be able to go on to have a successful pregnancy before long.

Bad news at a scan is just so awful. I can't find the right words, but big hugs and I'm so, so sorry.
