So many threads by so many names but this thread is a place to come after TTC after MC..

Deposit your worries in the box by the door and grab a cuppa! :-)

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Ba8y1 · 04/06/2010 10:15

Hi ladies

Have been loitering with intent on this thread, without having the guts to join until now - a little scared to label myself a 'grad' just yet. I had an early mc (6wks) in April and found out last week that I am pregnant again. No idea re dates, as I had no intervening period, so saw doc Tues and arranging a scan - hopefully within the next couple of weeks. I think the most I can be is 6 weeks again so I guess there won't be much to see just yet.

The reason I decided to join is coz i'm in a similar situation to dorcas; I started having some odd symptoms on Tuesday - some light brown spotting and have had it intermittently since then, no cramps or bleeding, but last time I got this I had the mc a few days later, so feeling a bit horrid at the moment to be honest and completely empathise with others in this position.

Strange though I feel slightly more attached to this 'bean' - I couldn't get excited at all about the last one even though we had decided to try the month before and I should have been, almost like I knew it wasn't going to last - don't know if that means anything...

I'm 28 and the last one was my first pregnancy - hope it's ok to join this group? Feel a little hand holding might be needed!!

Hope everyone else is doing ok today!

Goodluckbear · 04/06/2010 11:05

Welcome Culina and Ba8y1!! Congrats on your BFPs, glad you have come here, this is the place for hand holding and sharing worries.

I don't know if this helps, but up to at least week 6 I was having period pain cramps all the time - sometimes really bad ones. They got less frequent after week 7, although I still get the odd one now. I would say, as long as you haven't got bright red blood, you are pregnant and it's ok. And even if you do get bright red blood, it doesn't mean game over, I know there are other ladies on this thread who can testify to that.

Having said all that I know it's a really worrying time!! One day at a time I guess.

xxxx

MsJL · 04/06/2010 11:14

louisesh it's so funny that you say you thought "Here we go again" when you had your bfp as those were exactly my words as I waved our bfp in my DH's face. I wish you all the very best as things progress.

dorcas congrats on your bfp. I am sending you lots of positive, sticky vibes. I had horrible dreams in two of my previous pregnancies and had my first dream for this pregnancy featuring bright red blood last night. It's a very stressful time and the mind can do very cruel things. I don't have any magic answers as to how you get through it - I'm using rescue remedy, burning uplifting oils and finding support through MN. I really wish you all the best.

culina some people find that early scans are a great source of reassurance but do be prepared for the fact that they may not see very much or that there may not be definitive answers. I have a 7wk scan on Tuesday and am feeling very anxious as my three previous pregnancies stopped being viable just past 6wks.

Loads of good wishes to you new grads. x

clareanna · 04/06/2010 12:18

hello all - can I save a place on this thread please?!
Bfp 2 days before rtd due, now officially one day late and so cracked open the cb digi and still bfp!

Very early days but am excited about joining you (and sad to be leaving the mc thread, although will be a big lurker there- will miss them) have decided to be as positive as poss, try not to worry about things thatmight happen, and to enjoy life as much as poss until the vomming starts....

waves to happy, gi1da, alba, glb, unbuffy, sparkly, dorcas, redhead...

AlbaDeTamble · 04/06/2010 12:40

Gosh the list is hard work to update when it's a few days worth, hope I didn't mess up anyone's dates...

Welcome to everyone new, Dorcas, Clareanna, Culina and Ba8y1, please feel free to add yourselves to the list (forgetting about the list for a while gets us a bit of a telling off from some of the oldies ). As others have said, it's never ending worries, just try to take each day as it comes and do whatever it takes to relax as much as you can.

List is about all I can manage today the nasty cold has got worse. Am in bed feeling terribly sorry for myself and hoping that this isn't doing any harm to little bean as far as I know, all I can do is rest up as much as I can and try to eat and drink?

Feeble waves to all

Hello Clareanna!!!

Hope you feel better soon Alba, your little bean will be well protected so you just put your feet up and get well soon. Well done on doing the list!!

Have a lovely weekend everyone

xxxxxxx

Redheadgal · 04/06/2010 15:41

Big wave to Clareanna and Dorcas. Glad to have you here! And greetings to Culina and Ba8y1 Congratulations on your bfps!

Alba rest up and look after yourself. Hope you feel better soon.

Great to hear you're feeling dreadful ToomuchT . Have had a terrible two days of nausea and exhaustion. Completely knackering, but reassuring. Symptoms disappeared at the weekend and I was convinced it was going wrong again. I'm spending today sipping ginger beer to ward off the nausea.

Hi to everyone else. Hope all's well and you all have a great weekend!

xxx

boodleboot · 04/06/2010 17:26

alba straight to the top of the class for the list update....

hot hot hot hot hot hot hot.

seriously....that is all i can muster....pfffffhmm. i is like seriously well baked man.....urgh, third trimester over the summer eh....this happened with my first and by the end of the gestation (born end of july 99 - big old heatwave!)i was being literally hosed down by the sprinkler setting wedged into a bucket chair downing jubblies....beached whale territory for sure.....isn't it MARVELLOUS tho being pregnant woop woop!!!!!!

we MUST be due another baby now surely??? becky and jacanne where are you girlies???

hi to everyone - welcome to newbies - ....heres to pukey mornings and swollen ankles - chin chin!!

toomuchteaching · 04/06/2010 18:03

Thanks so much redhead, nothing like someone cheering over your nausea! I seriously cannot get off the sofa, I slept for ten hours last night, plus a two hour nap this afternoon, and I'm pretty sure I could go back to sleep now. What am I going to do when school starts again on Monday!?

Ginger beer... hmm... a possibility!

Hello newbies (from a fellow pretty much newbie!)

HappyGirl1 · 04/06/2010 20:57

Hi Ladies,

Sorry I've been quiet for a few days since the scan..

SO so so glad to see all of the newbies that's just great news!

Welcome Clareanna, Dorcas, Culina and Ba8y1,

Ba8y1 - The exact same happened to us.. we MC'd late February and then got pg straight away. It's incredibly worrying but worth it in the end. I totally agree with GLB I had period type pains on and off probably forthe first 8 weeksand even now the odd time. They definitely get less frequent though. Main thing is to somehow stay positive and keep positive thoughts.

Hope everyone else is well too.. Hi to GILDA too!

Ba8y1 · 05/06/2010 10:40

Thanks for the welcome ladies!

I'm afraid I'm probably not going to be the most fun person or the most long-lived on this thread....
I started bleeding this morning, just a little and no cramps yet, but I guess it's just a matter of time...

Very difficult to find anything positive to say, i'm sorry, just going to curl up and hide away today I think. dh being lovely - he is just amazing so I guess that's my positive vibe for the morning!

Will let you know if things improve. Anyone else ever had a positive outcome in this situation?!

Anyway I hope everyone else is doing well? Wishing you all the best of luck over the coming months - will hopefully get to know you all better next time!

Gi1da · 05/06/2010 12:45

Hello ladeeez!
Stats first, then post!

I've moved Jacanne and Becky to the congrats list, seemed a bit weird counting days so far past their due dates - had a scary vision of them still pregnant and the size of houses!

Gi1da · 05/06/2010 13:28

Ba8y1 so sorry to hear that. Will be keeping fingers and toes crossed for you and hope that it all works out.

Welcome too to Dorcas and Culina congratulations and wishing you very, very dull pregnancies!

Holy moly! Clareanna !!! Crikey, I turn my back for a minute and lo! There you are, huge congratulations on your diffment! I am utterly made up for you.

MsJL hows it going? Thinking of you and wishing you a triumphant scan on Tuesday.

Happy how are you feeling now? Hope everything is feeling much sunnier after your scan and now you're trucking through the second trimester (though of course quite how far is a mystery you minxy list-dodger you)

Which brings me to congratulations to Luckybear for passing the 12 week post (in my head it's like a big may-pole, but kind of a cross between an enormous diff-test and one of those thermometer style fundraising posts you used to get outside churches in the 70's telling you how many more milk bottles tops to collect to mend the roof).
Sorry, I probably lost you all there...

Sparkly - hitting double figure weeks tomorrow - woot woot!

LucyT can I tempt you to join the list? Must be near 10 weeks now too?

Alba how's tricks? Hope you're enjoying a relaxing weekend.

Toomuch and Redhead hope the bleuch's not too bad today. .

Hoses down Boodleboot on passing... Not envying you in this heat love! Sorry!

Upduffy hope everything's good with you.

Samantha good luck with the scan on Monday, are you finding if it's Boy-Baba or Lady-Baba? (Lady Baba comes complete with outrageous sequinned romper outfits and a bonnet which looks like a telephone).

How's the little Libran brewing Louise? I'm so envious of your due-date on my birthday - it's so nice to have a birthday in early October, just after the summer's done, the weather is often still lovely, and its still a long way to go before Christmas. My poor little scamp will forever be getting double presents. Oh well maybe I'll call it Jesus to make up for it. Cos that will make it all better

Gosh I'm starving now, must go and grab something. Sorry to everyone I've missed. I hope you are all feeling happy and well, or those feeling sicky are atleast at peace with feeling sicky, IfYSWIM.

Not much news in Gilda land, delighted to be a very grown up 11 weeks differoo, starting to feel a little more relaxed. Have midwife booking-in next Fri, then my official scan the following Tuesday. Then off on hollibobs!! Woot Woot! Just trying to work out of I should contemplate a preggers swim suit / tankini even though am only bloated rather than showing. Although given our record I should just invest in the traditional Holiday Kagoul. Cornwall I love you.

Have a super Saturday all x

Gi1da · 05/06/2010 13:29

Actually I have to say this one more time. Clareanna WOOT WOOT WOOT!!!

Unbuffy · 05/06/2010 14:29

Hellooo!

Afraid RL has been intruding scandalously on my mning recently, have just caught up... phew... Hello to newbies and WOWIES to Clareanna - really really REALLY pleased for you! Hurrah and also Hurrumble! Congratulations due to all other new folkses too, of course, although a little muted for ba8y1 and with hopes all is okay but much sympathy of it's not to be this time. iyswim.

Very happy for everyone gone past scans/12week mark and all is well; sumer is ycumin in, lude singe cuccu! I am very proud to be part of that part of the gang. Again, iyswim. It's nice to have so much good news (mostly) on here at the mo, rl is basically a bit wierd. Love and empathy for all those feeling like shiteness and sickness will never end - I was you 3 weeks ago (or less!)! Unless you are one of those very, very unlucky all-through-throwuppers, all will get better, honest. Oh, and the stopping taking folic acid bit helps, too.

Well life in buffyland is basically very odd atm. Funeral went well, and then we managed to get home (after 3 weeks away, a MASSIVE relief). Then MIL came to stay for a few days, good but a bit sad plus of course house had to stay tidier than usual etc. Am glad to have space back now although I hope it helped her to come. Am still waiting for dh to break down about it all though - will ply him with alcohol etc at some point and hope he gets a bit of it out of his system... He's doing the keep calm and carry on and bottle everything up thang. bless 'im.

As for bean, it seems to want to double me in size in a few days right now. I have so many stretches and cramps and ouchies! And am obviously preggers now but maternity clothes still too big - doing that 'cycling through two skirts and a pair of trousers' thing until I get bigger again!! The really good news is I am basically not feeling sick any more. Still knackered and not blooming yet but not vomitous (much)! So no more sick bands - tan line looks v weird around my wrists - and more food again, although I am still off tea, bread and bacon (boo - no bacon buttie breakfast for me for a few months). My mother helpfully pointed out that no bread would help me stay slimmer 'this time' - nice hints, mother (grr). Also cold better, although chest infection has returned (me: help; dr: nothing doing, you're pregnant; me: gah, cough cough spit yuk)

Think that's all the update here, hope all of you are well or getting well-er, hopefully will now be able to stay up to date and in touch better! Apologies for excess of !!!! (again), will try to calm down a little (and have less to say for myself) next time... tatty bye and happy weekends!

ljg72 · 05/06/2010 15:25

Ba8by1...keeping everything crossed for you Hugs X

naitimum · 05/06/2010 15:54

Hi,
Can I join the party? I mc'd beginning of april, easter weekend, and have just got a faint line this weekend. I'm terrified because last time started with a faint line and ended with cramping and bleeding.
I think I'm only about 4 weeks and have already decided today that any symptoms I had are going away again. How do you get through this?
Mia

clareanna · 05/06/2010 18:12

baby1 thinking of you - I had a bleed at 6 weeks and 9 weeks with my ds and all was fine so it can work out- fx for you

fanks gi1da and unbuffy really nice to see (?!) you guys again too.

naitimum I got a bfp on thurs so also v newly pg after an mmc at 12 wks in jan. My plan is to rake each day as it comes- am trying not to look too far ahead and not worry about things that might happen- too exhausting (although will be v difficult not to, but when I do start what iffing I'm going to give myself a good talking to and tell my brian to STOP BEING UNHELPFUL) nb is brian on this thread too PR only on the mc one? Otherwise naiti will think my spelling is awful.

I'm feeling fine, but crampy but nothing unusual- feels weird being pg again when last pg is still so clear in my mind - did any of you find that ?

Right must stop rambling and go and apply lashings of instant tan for wedding do tonight. Practising my cunning drink manouvers too- some peeps may find it's very odd that having got bladdered on the hen do 2 weeks ago I'm now teetotal...

Comiserations to those at the top of the list in this heat !

Unbuffy · 05/06/2010 18:45

Calm and collected ladies, calm and collected. Mind, I was totally convinced it was all going to go wrong, positive i lost it after a bleed at 8 weeks and certain there wouldn't be a heartbeat at the 12 week scan. Am now much more relaxed - it is possible (about 1 day a week...) so you can get there. And symptoms come and go, and just when you think they've all gone they hit you with double whammys again, and then vanish into thin air. We're all on the same rollercoaster, which can be fun while hand-holding but there... Share and share alike, oi raaackan.

Oh and I think Brian stayed behind - Mrs Pretty G had care of him for a while I think because there's been no sign for a coupla months. Although Gilda might know, she's on the ball? But if you've got the Seed of Brian and wish to bring him along Clareanna, please do. Could do with some assistance here and there...

Unbuffy · 05/06/2010 18:47

although not the 'seed' in That way... (snigger snigger)

dorcas111 · 06/06/2010 08:21

Hi just wanted to say thanks to everyone who responded to my slightly hysterical post last week, when I was feeling hyper stressed. It helped knowing I'm not the only one who has found it hard reaching the point where they miscarried last time- really thought I was going to lose the plot. Anyway, I wanted to say a proper hello to everyone, I hope that I am here for a good long boring while. Hi to Clareanna, who kicked my arse onto the grads list on the other thread, . Hi redheadgal, I remember you were on the other thread briefly too, and alba, sparkly and gilda, I think you were heading out the door as I came in. And hello to all the other ladies here too.

Marrow · 06/06/2010 09:39

Hello - can I join please? I think I would feel more comfortable here than on the antenatal threads.

This is my sixth pregnancy and I will be seven weeks tomorrow. I have a wonderful DD but have also had two ectopics and two miscarriages. One miscarriage before DD and 2 ectopics and a miscarriage since having her. I have PCOS so it normally takes a couple of years to conceive each time however this pregnancy was very unexpected - especially as I now have only one tube!

I had a scan last week which showed baby in the right place with a heartbeat. I felt ecstatic for two days but my pregnancy symptoms seem to have all but disappeared now and I am terrified I am going to have another miscarriage. I have another scan on Friday but it feels like such a long time away. Can I camp out here for a while?

AlbaDeTamble · 06/06/2010 09:54

Hi Dorcas, I'm feeling just the same way right now. Last time spotting started at 10+5 after having seen heartbeat at 7+4... am currently 9+6 and petrified we're going to hear 'it's not good news, I'm afraid' at scan on Wednesday. I know odds are better this time as 'early' scan was a week later than last time and beyond where our last little one got to developmentally, but all the worst moments from last time are haunting me, and I'm still not feeling well so it's hard to just get on with things and distract myself. Wish I could just go to sleep and wake up in a month with all fine....

All the best for tomorrow SamanthaB, and fingers tightly crossed for your 12 week scan GLB

off to try a relaxation track and attempt calm, zen-like state.....

AlbaDeTamble · 06/06/2010 15:14

Hi Marrow, cross posted this morning. Sorry for your losses, it must be terribly nerve wracking for you just now. Fingers tightly crossed for you that you'll find out on Friday that all is well, meantime although it's a bit quiet today you have found the right place for handholding through it.

SamanthaB123 · 06/06/2010 19:09

Thank you for all the messages of good luck - it's really nice that you have all been so thoughtful! .

Scan is at 10am, but I'll be straight off the school after that so won't post before the evening. We are going to find out if we are having a boy or girl, DH is sure it's a boy and I'm pretty sure it's a girl - so we will see tomorrow! It doesn't matter a fig either way of course.

For all of you newbies and those in the earlier stages, when I was first on this thread others were having scans and I was so jealous. I can hardly believe it's me here now . Having had the first scan at 12+6 the risk of mc had diminised dramatically and I felt much much more optimistic. Recently I have been worried about the amount that the baby moves - I think I'm just predisposed to worry about something! My midwife thought I was mad when I said I still didn't feel I was going to actually end up with a baby. She just looked at me and said, 'of course you are!'.

Today, for the first time the baby gave DH a good kick while he was holding my tummy, it was a really lovely special moment. I can't wait to see him/her on the scan tomorrow, I think I am the most excited person in the world right now!

Hope all is well for you all, SB
