Hi Happy my belly is huge too! I keep saying to myself, 'I don't remember getting this big with The One That Got Away... This has got to be good, right?' As nobody knows yet I'm spending my time as either a hermit or a very baggy in biiiig jumpers and trackies, and hoping nobody comments. Bums, I'm not going to get away with this for much longer.

Am also on the verge of total exhaustion, very sick and can't eat anything (even Lucozade is bad now) - I'm living off milk and the occasional hot chocolate and yoghurt. Try to eat properly at supper and then have a bath and lie down straight away, so I do get a little bit of proper grub. I'm soooo bored and really depressed and can't wait to feel better, it feels like I've been sick forever and ever. Luckily dh has been home for a few days and I've managed to sneak in a few extra hours sleep... not enough though...

Really glad about your scan glb. It's reassuring to see that little flicker! We would not be getting a dog, um, we'd be mating our bitch and having lots of lickle labradors - very cure and lovely for a month then hell on toast and hard work and poo for a month. Then my mum would have one of the pups, and we'd have one off her in a few years' time. Complicated, no? All this and (all things being equal) 5 months pg - madness. Still, last time we had puppies I was at this point - morning sickness and cleaning up poo is a TERRIBLE combination!

Hope everyone's enjoying the bank holiday at least a little bit!

Gi1da · 02/05/2010 19:41

GLB great news! Really pleased for you. Hope you're having a lovely stress free weekend now

Happy I feel big on the belly (and boobs) already and I'm only 6 weeks so you've got nothing to worry about!! I got some skinny mat jeans from gap before, they look like normal jeans but have a soft waistband. I often wear dresses with jeans so no-one can see the band anyway. Haven't dug them out yet but am fondly thinking about them! Oh yes my beauties, not long till we meet again

Gi1da · 02/05/2010 19:50

Unbuffy so sorry you're still feeling so crappy. Hope it passes soon and you can get some good food down you. Understand on the puppy thing now, good luck whatever you decide. I bet the puppies are super cute. Even cute enough to outweigh the poo!

Gi1da · 03/05/2010 10:30

Will someone please slap me round the face with my own kipper? Am feeling really crampy this morning (no spotting) but I really hate it! Makes me anxious. Oh I just wish someone would loan me a crystal ball for just 5 minutes!

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend inspite of the weather!

AlbaDeTamble · 03/05/2010 10:37

slap (and here's the kipper back, yeuch.... hate fish, excuse me a minute whilst I throw up)

it's your little bean burrowing in and making more space, nothing wrong at all.

But I'm just as bad - have been searching for best value, most conveniently timed early scans and wondering if one at 7 weeks and one at 9 weeks is a little much...? I know perfectly well it's going to make no difference to the ultimate outcome.

What we really need is a quick peek into the future to know it's all going to be ok

louisesh · 03/05/2010 19:48

Congrats GLB its a relief isn t it?

Hope everyones having a lovely weekend we ve had a fabulous time.Cinema last night and country drive to visit some country pubs today [for a variety of boring soft drinks!!!]

I too had to give in and buy some maternity jeans on saturday , my others soo uncomfortable recently...Soo finally succombed although, did spend ages talking to a lovely shop assistant in new look, whos 2 weeks ahead of me at 5 months pg who suggested just going a size bigger in some cheap jeans which i ve also done and they re more comfortable.Might need to get 1 more pair but do n twant to buy loads not to wear them again after this time.

Hope everyones had a lovely weekend and even better off work this week YEH!!!!!!!!!!

OK - 20 wk scan today was absolutely amazing!!! Was a shaking bundle of nerves when i went in there with DH and my DM and only stopped shaking when the man found the heartbeat which was good and strong. Bubs is a real wriggler and it took a good 20 mins to get all the measurements. Scan dated me at 20+5 today. We opted to keep sex a suprise....cannot wait to meet this baby now!

He also found a large fibroid that wasn't noted or metioned to me last time. May need to be rescanned at 30 wks to see if fibroid has grown much. It was really noticeable in the scan and am now panicking that it either will grow so big that baby will be squashed or that it is something more sinister than a fibroid.....boo. Going to do a bit of googling. Anyone have any experience of fibroids and pregnancy?

Sarahlou8 · 04/05/2010 15:41

Boodle no experience of fibroids, but please please don't google! Never google anything medical, you'll frighten yourself (even though I'm just as bad)
Really glad the scan went well

I'm having a quiet few days. 15 weeks. This is where I lost my last baby. And my due date would have been this Sunday. Really trying to stay positive xx

HappyGirl1 · 04/05/2010 15:45

Awh SarahLou thinking of you loads. You poor thing. It'll be a tough tough week for you but try to stay positive somehow.

BestLaidPlans · 04/05/2010 16:07

Hello, I've been lurking since I got my BFP in March. So lovely to see so much good news. I was on helpet's thread originally with Cheepz, TFLS and Meita, then wandered over here when I got pregnant the second time, lost it again and was a bit too scared to post this time. Anyway, I find I'm getting more and more scared as the first scan approaches (Monday) and the superstition is being outweighed by the need for some metaphorical hand holding, or perhaps a slap with the kipper since it's being passed around. Last two have been MMCs but never got as far as the scan before, really worried about just seeing nothing. Hope it's ok to add myself to the list and hope everyone's having a lovely Tuesday.

HappyGirl1 · 04/05/2010 17:17

Welcome BestLaidPlans.. this is a lovely thread and all of the ladies give really good advice. Best of luck for your scan.

I'm just so nervous today, getting pains / movements etc and each time it's such a worry and since I was pushed back a week just so so worried. 4 weeks today though until the 12 week scan so have to somehow find patience from somewhere.

Goodluckbear · 04/05/2010 17:59

Welcome BestLaidPlans, hope the scan is really, really good.

Glad your scan was good Boodle, hope the fibroid thing is fine, but don't google too much if you can help it (I never can, I'm google obsessed).

Happy, Gilda - the pains make me super nervous too!! I told the sonographer this on Saturday, she was so unconcerned about it it was as if I had mentioned I had an itch on my nose. It is all normal, but I know it's a worry at the same time.

Sarah - thinking of you, hope you have a nice restful couple of days.

Ok, I'm off now, leaving work as I feel sick (but am secretly v happy about it as I feel it's a good sign for me). I just have one question - I just got my date for my booking appointment through (finally) - it's not until I am over 11 weeks, is that normal? I haven't got a date for a 12 week scan yet either, is that normal too? I'm 8 weeks now....thought I'd be getting the booking appointment sooner than that.

xxxxx

Gi1da · 04/05/2010 19:30

Thanks for the kippering Alba sorry if it made you barf! Slap me with some rhubarb next time if it's less offensive to your nose!

GLB thanks for the reassurance too, it's good to know that those in the know aren't the least bit bothered, even it makes us jittery! I will do my best to regain my sense of Z E N

How's Malteser? Scan time soon? Looking forward from an update from you.

Boodle crikey, I second (third?) the step away-from-google advice. Best just wait and see what they say in 10 weeks, they can't be that worried about it if they're leaving that long before the next scan, so do take some reassurance in that. If there was the slightest suspicion of anything 'sinister' you'd be booked straight back in.
On the super plus side though - hoorah for you on scan! 20 weeks, now that's a proper milestone! Half way there!

Sarahlou sorry to hear of your history, that's really tough. Be super kind to your self this week.

Louiseh hope you're enjoying your new comfy clothes, Happy did you give in and get any bigger stuff yet?

waves at bestlaidplans helloo! Not too long to wait for scan now, do you want me to knock you out with a tuna? We'll wake you up again on Sunday, promise.

I have my first appointment with the doctor tomorrow, at least it will start the whole process off. Seems like a long way away till I'll have scans. Just very optimistically booked a holiday for mid June when I should be 13 weeks. Off to Cornwall - can't wait!

louisesh · 04/05/2010 20:14

Yeh BOODLE lovely news X mine s in 2 weeks time and atarting to get worried AGAIN!!!! Bt trying to put it out of my mind for now.Keep reassuring myself that at the private scan we had 2 weeks ago no abnormalties seen.

Yes GILDA loving my new "fat" clothes can breathe again

SARAHLOU its a sad time isn t it? This sat, 8th may is the first annivarsary of my little one i lost in my first mmc s due date. Can t quite believe its a year since we had our little one' s cermony at the seaside.I ve still got my garden ornament to commerate my 2 lost babies, sometimes i talk to it [yes ,i could be a distant relative of prince Charles!!!!] and give it a little "pat"[its an ornament of a daddy, mummy and child in a semi circle] .Don t know wheter to do anything this Sat or just remember quietly.Does make it slightly easier that i m now pg but you never forget.Take care X

Hope everyone else is well.Made it back to the gym this am YEH, feel better for it.Been busy painting shed, fence panels etc....LOVE being off work.

louisesh · 04/05/2010 20:17

Oh forgot to say hi to bestlaidplans

toomuchteaching · 04/05/2010 21:49

Hi ladies,

I'm looking for somewhere to join, so please point me in the right direction if here isn't it!

Have just find out I'm pregnant (EDD 8.1.11) after mc last August at 10+4. Have been a total wreck since then to be honest, we were on holiday, had to be evacuated, awful. So I'm completely terrified to be here again, and could do with the support! It's weird, I never found any of this when it first happened, could've done with other people's experiences then.

Am already stressy about lack of nausea (4wks) and can't tell if I'm imagining the other stuff. Plus when I saw my gp straight after the mc she said they don't do reassurance scans. The next 8 weeks can't go fast enough! Am excited at the same time though, it feels mixed up.

Anyway, fingers crossed and hope everyone is well!

HappyGirl1 · 05/05/2010 10:05

GLB - good to hear re the pains. It is good that they literally don't take any notice of them I guess. Still easy for them I say!

Gilda good luck with your doc appt today! great to get the ball rolling.. I felt much better once I was in the 'system' so to speak.. Let us know how it goes.

Boodle try not to google too much! As the girls said if they were super super worried they would scan you much sooner.. I know I'd still worry though so you prob will too.. hope all is okay. How great though that your 20 week scan went so well! That's such good news and what a relief.

LouiseH thinking of you this week too.. such tough times

TooMuchTeaching - welcome.. yes this is definitely the right thread to come now you are pg after a MC.. we have all unfortunately been there.. the ladies are all wonderful and give great advice when you are having a nervous/stressful day.. on happy days too obviously!

Yep I gave in and bought maternity trousers for work in Next.. as really pleased they were just my regular size but just with a comfy waistband.. so so so much comfier now in work I'm glad I dove in and did it! Also got a bigger bra so much comfier now! Thing is though because I was so comfy yesterday I freaked out my belly and boobs weren't as big cos I was used to being in pain from it all.. DH was like yes they are still big!

Fingers and toes fingers and toes. Honestly I spend my day hoping and praying that everything is going to be okay. I keep talking to the bean in my head wishing it well. Honestly i think I'm going crazy sometimes!

Goodluckbear · 05/05/2010 10:18

Hi toomuchteaching, welcome, you're in the right place!!

I think it's normal to not feel sick at 4 weeks, the first time I started feeling sick was last Friday (so was 7+2 at the time). And today I don't feel sick at all!! Hopefully it just comes and goes! And I know some people never feel sick (I think 20% of women don't get morning sickness) so that is normal too. Wish there was a definitive sign everything was ok!

I've done the list (below), but mine was a day out so I'm not sure if others are a day out too? I've just added a day on in any case, so let me know if this is wrong! Toomuch - would you like to add your stats?

sparklyrainbow · 05/05/2010 17:35

Hi everyone

Have been mostly lurking so far but perhaps someone could add me to the stats:

sparklyrainbow- Baby~1 5+5 EDD 1st January 2011

I am now booked in with midwife but have been told there is no chance of an early scan as I have 'only' had 2 mc. Has anyone paid for an early scan and was it worth it? Part of me thinks 'what will be will be', part of me wants to know desperately and as soon as possible if this one will be ok. Advice welcome!

PS Gilda, greyhounds are gorgeous and half the time you won't even notice you've got one! Friend has one and it is the quietest dog I've ever known... especially compared to our terrier!

sparklyrainbow · 05/05/2010 17:35

and yay for malteser

louisesh · 05/05/2010 18:49

Fabulous news Malteaser its lovely isn t it?

Sparklyrainbow i paid for a private scan was £90.I orginally booked it at 8 weeks but was naughty and rung my epu with "symptons" soo they scanned me.I was then referred to a consultant obstetrician who referred me back to epu for luteal support and two weekly scans.I put my private scan on "hold" and had it at 17 weeks. Was very good and well worth the money.[its help being a nurse as know what to say re;signs and symptons]

Thanks Happygirl

Hi Toomuchteaching Welcome

HappyGirl1 · 06/05/2010 12:03

Congrats Malteser great news!

How is everyone today?

I'm grand but just totally exhausted. I could barely get up for work this morning and got up 1.5 hours later than I should have done, really really struggling in work today. My tummy seems to have exploded also. Don't get me wrong I'm delighted that things seem to hopefully be progressing well.

toomuchteaching · 06/05/2010 17:12

Thanks for the welcome! Am still at the stage of checking for bleeding a bit too often, I hope I can stop myself soon. Still not called the doctors either, going to wait for 6 weeks I think and then see what they say about early scans.

Can someone add me to the stats? I'm still new to all this! Today I'm

toomuchteaching - baby#1 4+5 wks EDD 8th January

Hope you're having a good day. I'm off for something to eat, again!
