I am FREAKING OUT. I don't have any symptoms and my boobs aren't even sore today. I've got the scan on Saturday and I keep imagining it in my head being the same as last time with that god awful silence. Please please please can you guys just do the following:

a) slap me around the face a bit
b) remind me the period pain cramps are normal
c) remind me not everyone gets morning sickness, tiredness, sore boobs
d) tell me the scan will be ok

I can't think of anything else, I'm not even getting any work done

I'm sorry I'm a lunatic today, no one to talk to as DH "fed up of hearing about it"

JodieO · 29/04/2010 15:14

Why did I just do a clearblue test with the conception indicator? Sigh. It came up as pregnant right away and then 2-3 weeks, it should be 3+ by now but I should have used morning wee. Why am I even doing it??? Driving myself crazy I swear as now I'm worrying again..... Even after the scan, I think because we couldn't see a heartbeat yet. 2 weeks is going to be torture.

thefatladyscreams · 29/04/2010 16:29

Hi and welcome to all the new faces - lovely to see a new batch of BFPs springing up!

Great to see you here Alba

Sorry for the really quick and dash posting. Been manic at work and off on holiday tomorrow for 2 weeks. Tonnes of work still to finish and then the packing but hey ho.

GLB - I wrote a virtually similar post the week before my 12 week scan - so take heart! It all sounds completely fine - easy for me to say I know! Will be thinking of you on Saturday.

Jodie0 - there was an interesting thread ages ago (I found it in the archives) about the time indicators on the Digital causing false alarms. A midwife commented that they got lots of worried women who didn't get the 3plus result when they expected but everything was fine - so seems like they are not as accurate on that bit as they'd like us to believe.

Lee- lovely to see you [big wave]

Sorry if I've missed anything - haven't read back past the first page. Will catch up properly on my return - love to you all and hope you've had a lovely holiday by the time you read this meita!

POLITE REQUEST TO ALL YOU LOVELY NEWBIES - please bring the list with you!! i had to scroll back to page 8 to find it! Meita will NOT be a happybunny to come back from her hols to an obsolete list ha ha.

have prob updated lots of people wrong ( i just added two weeks 6days) and there are lots of you that are not on it at all so please add yourselves when ready. There seems to have been a real baby boom over on the TTC thread which is nice.....lots of you i haven't seen before so hi!

I am well, very excited about my scan at 21wks next week and definitely not going to find out sex....have any of you thought about that yet? Lee - wot u gonna do? you not too far behind me....(you know that me and bubs are going to come to ireland to see you at some point don't you....i just have to! - won't bring the rest of the mob tho!)

glb - i was exactly the same and even took myself off to the walk in free scan clinic at the hospital at 9weeks as was convinced period was about to start i was so crampy....try to be calm, when we get anxious we release cortisol into our systems and that is not good so just relax and trust that all will be ok....

jodie - step away from the digis - they are the work of the devil and a curse to the nervous pregnant lady.....(take it from one who has been there!!)

barrenbrook - the spd is completely unpredictable and some days i feel great others i can really struggle but keep reminding myself i think i made a pact at somepoint that i would be prepared to walk on glass for this baby to stick....maybe it is going to be like that literally!!!

Hey to everyone else - the longest journey in my preg so far has been the one to 12wks....it was torturously long for me with loads of ups and downs etc but from that point it really does seem to go at a normal rate....the last 3weeks have literally flown by.....hang on in there....

thefatladyscreams · 29/04/2010 16:47

About to log off but just saw you boodle - hiya!

Hope you're doing OK. Very impressed that you've tried to resurrect the list! I got told the gender by my acupuncturist this week (she can try to tell from my pulse) but will find out on my return if she's right! Yes - I'm going to ask at the scan - impatient person that I am.

Take care.

HappyGirl1 · 29/04/2010 16:48

GLB I had the exact same problem at about 5 weeks when I was still on the MC thread and hadn't quite graduated.. I COMPLETELY freaked out.. my GP subsequently told me that it was nothing to worry about.. boobs soreness can come and go especially if you are dehydrated etc. I totally sympathise as I was completely freaking out..

Fingers crossed for Saturday

JodieO Same thing also happened to me.. I did another test the following morning and the hormones were fine again and back up to 3+. Fingers crossed.

Now I'm obviously no expert GLB and JodieO just giving my twopence!

HappyGirl1 · 29/04/2010 17:02

Oh Ladies i had just typed in that message and then went and tripped up over my trousers while going to the printer. Totally paranoid now i've done something bad. Fingers crossed bean is okay. the worry of it all. Hopefully it'll all be worth it. Going to try and relax and enjoy a meal out tonight with DH.

JodieO · 29/04/2010 17:04

thefatladyscream thanks for that, puts my mind at rest a bit! I swear they make these tests to drive us insane.

boodleboot I know what you mean, I'm also a serial tester when ttc, I've gone through more tests in the past year than I care to remember. Ended up buying some cheapy ones online and have loads left now. BUT I have a digital one left as it was a double pack.....I don't know why I do it to myself, I really don't.

Happygirl1 It's a relief to know that you had the same. I'm so tempted to use the other one in the morning, I shouldn't though should I? Sigh.

Just updating the list as I seemed to have gained 4 weeks! If only

I'm feeling really sick again today, after being okay for the last few days. I was really hoping to be in the 'blooming' stage by now, and now I'm back to green. Oh well...

AlbaDeTamble · 30/04/2010 08:24

GLB, hope you slept. I didn't feel sick with DS and it was an uncomplicated pregnancy, but did feel sick with bean we lost. There's no telling on pg symptoms or lack of. Tomorrow is going to be good news and a huge wonderful relief.

Have you tried self hypnosis relaxation tracks? I find them fantastically good for my stress levels.

Jodie, I've been warned about conception indicators. Such a lovely idea but concentrations of hormone in urine fluctuate too much. Not unusual not to get result you expect. Does that help? I hope so

Calm zen-like thoughts to all (and how are you doing unbuffy, still keeping calm and zen-like? I had a pang of 'if only' when I saw how far along you are already)

Boodle, sorry, can't manage list on my phone, can I be forgiven please?

JodieO · 30/04/2010 09:37

louiseash So glad that everything was ok, try to keep the stress down as much as possible

Sarahlou8 hope the sick feeling doesn't last too long!

Alba Thanks, I ended up doing the other test this morning first thing (I know, I know!) and it came up 3+ very quickly. Glad it did but I'm leaving well alone now, no more test!!

I'm feeling much better this morning, no cramps so I'm going to take things easy and try to stay stress free!

Hope everyone had a good night.

Unbuffy · 30/04/2010 09:39

Okay, I'm going to have a go at the list. This is a BAD IDEA as I kill things like this... Wish me luck and tell me off when I get it all wrong...

Hope I haven't lost anyone. Have not added GLB, Happy or Alba as have no stats yet!

Hope you feel better soon GLB - I know exactly how you feel.

And glad to hear all is well Louise. How was Peter Kay or did you not really get to see much?

Happy I am on a diet of Lucozade and Ryvita at the moment. mw suggested it so it can't be that bad (fizzy orange poison that is. Ryvita CAN be that bad. I am SOOOO bored). Also I spent the first 6 weeks of pregnancy with dd falling over while chasing sheep during lambing - 2 big nonos and a successful pg. Don't worry, the bean is so padded at this stage that it's very unlikely to come to any harm. I have an 8-week-scan pic to prove it - masses of Stuff around tiny tiny blob.

Jodie, step AWAY from the tests. They're not super accurate, that's all a marketing doojab and they'll only fret you. YOU'RE PREGNANT, you're going to have to live with it for a while...

Hi Alba, hope you is holding out okay, bastarding doctors. My brothers are both slimy know-it-all junior gps. (mutter mutter grumble)

Gilda, glad you're still smiling and hitting people with fishes - did you bring across a supply or are these fresh ones?

Sarahlou, crap to be feeling poorly again. I can't wait for 'blooming', not good at this stage...

Hi to Teaser, Effilump, TFLS, Boodle and Lee. Have run out of things to say and this post is getting out of hand so just big mad waves really, so glad to see that it is possible to get beyond this bit. Am currently trying not to think 'this is about as far as we managed before...' - it's lovely to be able to see that we can.

Love to all x

Goodluckbear · 30/04/2010 09:56

Thanks guys, the fish slapping in particular was excellent. Alba - do you have any recommendations for self hypnosis CDs or anything? I'll give anything a go to keep calm!!

Cramps not too bad today and I think I might be feeling a bit sick (or might be nerves, haha). Although sounds like some of you guys have been through the mill with the sickness, so I won't wish it on myself.

Happy - same as what Unbuffy said, lots of padding down there. Hope you are feeling ok.

Really pleased everything's going ok Louise, I'd have been bricking it, glad her little heartbeat is going like the clappers!!

Hi to everyone else, so glad you guys are here, I would've gone mental by now if not. I'm going to be extra positive for tomorrow and add myself to the list in advance, this is all for the new, positive, calm me:

Doh... did list and then realised I'd magically gained a week. Was pottering about thinking about it, and thought 'hmm, sure that said 10 weeks. Surely i'm not that quite yet...' So I've returned to remedy the situation...

Re sickness, sea bands can be good, although I now have bruises on my acupressure points from weeks of wearing the bloody things. But left them off yesterday and was reeeely poorly all day... So back on 'em today and for the next few weeks.

Unbuffy and GLB thanks re the news on the padding.. Yesterday was just a horrible day between that trip and then got home and managed to annoy DH at our meal out which subsequently ruined our meal out. Was all stressed feeling bad and then feeling bad for being stressed for little bean.

I should have been turning 9 weeks today as I should only be 3 days behind yourself Unbuffy but now I'm still 7 weeks 5 days and still hoping so much to get back to 8 weeks on Sunday. Hopefully I will. I think I'll feel a bit better if / when i hopefully do get to Sunday.

sorry Ladies I'm just a bit blah at the moment and had a caramel slice this morning which I'm sure is full of sugar so can't be good. Oh well it tasted great!

Wishing you all a Happy Friday xx

Unbuffy · 01/05/2010 17:17

Hi just a quicky... any suggestions re really sore and itchy nipples ?

SamanthaB123 · 01/05/2010 18:07

Hi Everyone, I never have time to post properly any more...I do read all of the news and really mean to respond to everyone.

Unbuffy A quick answer to your quick question! When I was breastfeeding dd#2 I had thrush on my nipples which made them sore and itchy. It might be worth seeing your gp to check that it isn't that as it would need particular treatment.

Hope everyone else is well and enjoying the bank holiday, SB x

louisesh · 01/05/2010 19:41

Thanks UNBUFFY,JODIE O and GOODLUCKBEAR

Hi to everyone else hope all are well.[grins]
Had to succomb and buy some "fat/pregnancy" jeans today as all my others becoming very uncomfortable.

UNBUFFY have you tried aqueous cream? its dirt cheap, about £2 for a tub thats 500grams , its an emollient so not particularly for itchy skin however, sometimes your skin can be excerbated with regards to itching if also dry.

HAPPYGIRL know what you mean about the first 12 weeks DRAGGING took fOREVER !!!now is flying by!!! I just took it week by week and each week , for me, past 8 weeks was a bonus/major progression.

Peter Kay ok .I have seen him before, still funny but not as much as used to be but.....

Hope everyone having a nice weekend. We re sorting out ordering wardrobes, new dishwashers and finally got our car back .YEH[ smile]

There, hope I didn't mess anyone's dates up... not entirely sure about mine - obsessing about it slightly... by LMP I'm only 4+4 but ovulation is reliably day 12 (and we stopped SWI on day13), so am basing on that instead. Tested very clearly positive late morning on a CB at 14 dpo too... It may seem silly to worry over a few days, but DS was 2 weeks late, and I know if I get that far I'll be very thankful for an induction a few days earlier! So will just tell the docs LMP 3 days earlier to make up for short cycles as they stubbornly don't take it into account (despite most online due date calculators, including MN, taking the more accurate cycle length approach). If it truly is wrong by much the scan will make it clear but they won't shift it if less than a week anyway.

GLB I'm still tightly crossing my fingers for you -- hope it was all ok?? Hypnosis tracks... I have some from a local hypnotherapist I saw, and also downloaded conception track from www.innerv.net which I used last month, maybe coincidence, maybe it really did help... still using the relaxation track that's on there too. I do think it does help the stress levels.

My local hypnotherapist also gave me a track for IBS, which worked wonders when all else failed, Louise, I know how painful that can be, hope you're feeling a little better now.

Malteser, hope the night-shifts aren't too overwhelmingly exhausting and helping the time fly. Fingers tightly crossed for your scan too -- when is it? At the end of the last night shift?

I'm happy to say I'm feeling really rather queasy and terribly tired, and the sore boobs just starting to kick in too. Urgh.

Unbuffy I had terrible trouble breastfeeding with DS, I remember when I stopped, sudocrem worked wonders on healing, and vaseline and breast pads were also a good combination to make them a little more comfortable. Hopefully you're not feeling anywhere near that bad though. Lanisoh may help? No idea which creams are contraindicated in pregnancy though, so maybe better to see GP or midwife.

Hello to all, hope the wet weather hasn't messed up too many bank holiday plans

Unbuffy · 02/05/2010 13:59

Hi all,

Have looked out a barrier cream/emolient that I was prescribed while bf for the nipples, but bar running around topless all day can't really do much else (bit too cold for that imho). Am trying to work out whether we should have puppies this year or not, we want to as we want another dog just like this one, but it's a lot of work and there's a toddler to take into account (not to mention me hopefully being a big fatty). But too exhasuted atm to make coherant sentences let alone decisions...

Roll on the next bit and the end of sickness and knackeredness!

Hope all are well, apologies for no namechecks.

Gi1da · 02/05/2010 15:53

oh arsewhang! Just lost a whole post and am now too knackered to try and type it again! List updated with Memory and Olivia.

A toddler, a dog, puppies AND a baby? Crikey Bufferzoo that's a lot of poo to clear up!
I was planning on adopting an ex-racer greyhound but was put off by a friend bringing a dalmation round. Stinky thing farted all evening, I nearly vommed! Now thinking I might go back to having cats. At least they are discreet about their toiletings!

Waves at Alba I wouldn't mess with you when it comes to your dates, sounds like you're right on top of it!

Hope everyone's feeling ok and not minding the drizzle.

It was ok!! I couldn't get online yesterday to tell you. I had the scan and she said it all looked fine, there was a heartbeat and everything, I was so relieved I started crying and she gave me a big hug. She even gave me a photo of the scan, bean looks like a little seahorse on it, it's a bit fuzzy because I was crying and jiggled around a bit.

Not sure if my nerves had hidden pregnancy symptoms, but I puked in the shower this morning, so I'm going to take that as a good sign too. Hoping it doesn't last though.

Phew!! Thanks for all the good wishes.

Hope the sicky clears up soon Unbuffy - what sort of dog would you get?!? Decisions, decisions. Sorry to hear about the nipple problem, I'm afraid I don't have any ideas on that one but sending sympathy, it sounds v sore.

Alba, sounds like a plan on the dates. Thanks for the info on the hypnosis stuff, I've seen a few threads on this now so I'm going to get onto Amazon and have a look for stuff.

Big happy wave to everyone!!

HappyGirl1 · 02/05/2010 18:03

GLB delighted to hear ur good news on the scan.. I cried too! Such good news for u with the long weekend.

Alba def a good plan on the dates I think.. MW at scan told me it was prob cos of my cycles that she was pushing me back a wk so i def think ur right.

Have had a nice wkend with my sis, on way home now to DH who has been out for a few drinks so he will be merry! Got a few pains today which r worrying me a bit but trying to remember things r moving about in there and growing so hopefully, everything crossed, it is all okay. Touch wood.

Other thing a bit odd, all of my trousers r so uncomfortable on the belly, cant understand how my belly is so big already. Im 8 weeks today when i shud have been 9 + 2 but am jst really happy to be back at 9 wks. I dunno what to do, next size up r way too big on legs its literally jst my belly that has exploded but jst feels far far too early to buy preg trousers even tho they look really cosy. Tricky.

Well have a nice sunday evening everyone.
