thinking of you tomorrow spikeycat. I've also had quite a bit of bright red scary bleeding this last few days but had a scan yesterday and the baby is fine but I have a large area of bruising under the placenta (I think ) where the bleeding was coming from. No-one knows why this happens. I have to put my feet up a bit and try to rest more (yet again). I'm so happy the baby was OK as I'd really convinced myself that this was it. Another scan in 2 weeks to see how things are going. I don't know if my nerves can survive all this - 4 scans already.
Anyway, sorry to ramble on - good luck tomorrow spikeycat I'll really be crossing everything for you.
good luck chatee on Monday
how are the pains moosh? I had a lot of stomach pains with my first pregnancy and I think they are supposed to be quite common. Not too long for the scan anyway.

Thinking of everyone

morocco · 14/08/2003 20:50

oh spikeycat - meant to add - I also couldn't eat but after midnight (nicer nurses?) but it's because of the blood tests they do for your glucose etc levels so don't worry about that at least

moosh · 15/08/2003 07:50

Pains were bad last night went to the emergency hospital and was checked out. Doc said baby is fine even though I never had a scan, but I have to take her word for it. She said it is ligament pain where my body is trying to adjust. It is specifically on the left hand side which she said is where the womb could be mainly lying. She told me it is fine to take the odd paracetamol and to go to my own GP. All I can say is a little relieved but will be more relieved after 26th August when I have my scan. And after next week I will be 12 weeks, so I can return to my regular back and neck massages which should relieve worry and tension. Take care all.

Tillysmummy · 15/08/2003 11:33

Oh Spikeycat. Hope everything is ok. Thinking of you and big hugs. I had bleeding around week 6 and 7 but had an early scan last week (now 9 weeks) and looked ok. It's so worrying though. Moosh when is your scan next week ? How do you feel now, are you ok ? I keep getting pains everywhere.

moosh · 15/08/2003 14:25

A little better TM, I have taken a paracetamol as I have been on the move all day. Nursery run, hairdressers, taking ds to speech therapist. Don't want to keep popping paracetamol so will ask the doctors on Monday for any alternative to reducing pain in the ligaments. Really scary this has happened so early, what will it be like when I am bigger and carrying more weight and I am on my feet at work all day. (I am a visual merchandiser and window dresser). 9 days till my scan, still awaiting nuchal date though.

spikeycat · 15/08/2003 18:26

well, good news, I had the scan and there he/she was, little heart beat blinking away at us. I was shocked as I had convinced myself totally.
Thanks for all the kind thoughts.

They have said I am only 9.5 weeks though as according to my dates I was 11ish.

chatee · 15/08/2003 18:29

excellent news spikeycat-have been thinking of you and looked earlier for news....have a great weekend

morocco · 15/08/2003 22:58

fantastic news spikeycat - it must have been a great feeling. So when is your due date then?

those pains sounded really horrible moosh - poor you. I'm pretty sure it will settle down before too long though. I think it's supposed to be pretty much a first trimester thing and we're all getting nearer to that change to 2nd trimester!

Just thinking about painkillers reminded me though, did everyone hear that news today about not taking aspirin or ibuprofen during pregnancy? there doesn't seem to be much left that's safe in the world for us pregnant women.

LEWEI · 18/08/2003 10:54

I hope you are all ok, i am sorry to read that some are having problems.
I have'nt been on much for the last couple of weeks, although my pregnancy is going fine, i have been feeling very down. I think it is a combination of relief at passing eight weeks, fear of what lies ahead, ds's birthday/anniversary coming up and lack of support from midwife/consultant. I know i will cope but at the moment things are just getting on top of me.
My midwife makes her first visit tomorrow, she couldn't come any sooner because they couldn't find my notes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and i have my first scan on thursday, i think once i see the scan i will feel a little better.
Sorry to be such a moan, hope you are all feeling good.

spikeycat · 18/08/2003 13:07

Hope all goes well with the midwife lewei.

Not too sure of the due date, think it will be late march early April, so you may have to evict me off of this thread!

I had a nose bleed this morning, gushing blood for over an hour, feel very weak now and was wondering if it could be anything to do with being pg?

Elvis · 18/08/2003 21:04

Hello again. Not posted for ages - on holiday and since then too tired!! I really could just sleep all day.
Had my dating scan today. It was lovely, a baby and not a little bean any more!
Good luck on Thursday Lewei. I'll be thinking of you.
I feel I can now make the official announcements - work, friends etc.
Having a mc has dented my confidence, so today was really special.

Elvis · 19/08/2003 08:12

Oh god. Woke up in the middle of the night and realised how SMUG that last posting sounded!! Sorry.

chatee · 19/08/2003 08:35

good morning everyone,
well had my dating scan yesterday and all was well, baby waved to us and dd was fascinated(she's 3 next week)we hadn't told her about the baby and were not going too unless she was inquisitive-well she was and i think dh really couldn't wait to tell her!
all yesterday afternoon she kept role playing with her dolls house and saying "mummys got a baby in her tummy"
Expected date is 7th March but more likely to be a Feb baby due to previous history(DD 7 weeks early) and was also a c-section...
will phone to arrange a midwife appointment today

lol to all

LEWEI · 22/08/2003 14:50

Hi everyone, had my scan yesterday and all is fine. baby measuring 12wks 3days and jumping about like an acrobat. What a relief!!! I got my care card and lots of extra appointments, which is reasuring.
Hope you are all well, with lots of pregnancy symptoms

Hi everyone, new here and hoping to find some older mothers like me (just 44). Due 29 March 004. Just had bad bleed scare but all's well, thank God. Thinking of you all and wishing all well.

JanHR · 25/08/2003 08:50

My aunt told me yesterday that my 18 year old cousin is pregnant>She is due on 9th march, which is my aunts birthday. I have mentioned this site to her, so you may have a newbie joining you soon.

morocco · 25/08/2003 09:49

so pleased for you lewei. How is everyone doing? What's your due date elvis? Is your little girl still all excited about the baby chatee? A friend of mine suffered throughout her 2nd pregnancy from the indignity of having her t shirt pulled up and belly exposed to passers-by by her 3 year old who would proudly announce that 'mummy has a baby in her tummy'. Made us smile anyway.
how are the nose bleeds spikeycat? Was it just a one off? How horrilbe for you and unfair after eveything else we all have to suffer as well. I don't know if they are common in pregnancy but perhaps it's just the heat at the moment? Or did you get bashed on the nose by your little one? Mine is a horror at the moment for punching and hair pulling.

spikeycat · 26/08/2003 10:21

Thanks for asking, I've had about 5 in the last week or so, they are very long lasting as well and leave me feeling wacked. I know its not hight blood presure because mine is v v v v low.

Have got my scan today and the nunchal (sp) fold test, feel a bit nervous...

moosh · 27/08/2003 15:22

Hi hope everyone is well. Finally had my scan yesterday, all is well little bean stretched and had a fidgety time. It is such a releif to know that all is well, have been given an official date of 28.02.04 but will stay on this thread as I started on this thread. Still feel sick though even though I am 13 weeks now. Hope it goes soon, feeling a little tierd today but happy too. Have my nuchal next tuesday. Have told ds who is 3.5 and he wants a little brother and a little sister, can't stop prodding my tummy and asking "Is there a baby in there?". Kids are so funny!

Elvis · 27/08/2003 20:58

Glad to hear things are going well for everyone at the moment - long may it continue. My date also officially throws me off this thread - 24th Feb. Particularly delighted that all went well for you Lewei.

What has happened to the size of my stomach?!!! Last week when I told some friends the news they said well you don't look it. They wouldn't say that now. I caught sight of myself in a shop window today. Bloody hell. What's been happening in there this week?

spikeycat · 28/08/2003 09:43

had my scan, they couldn't do the test as my dates are out by a week. I am due on 14th March, so I have to go back in two weeks.

Hilary · 28/08/2003 10:05

Elvis, feel the same about my tummy. Due 29th Feb and I don't think anyone could not know I'm pregnant, who knows my normal size. With my first (this is my third) I got to 5 1/2 months and some people told me I'd lost weight!! No chance of that this time. What's troubling, though, is how big I'll be by the end!

Tillysmummy · 28/08/2003 11:54

Hi all it's been a while since I posted coz I got made redundant a couple of weeks ago and haven't had a pc. All is well. Nearly 11 weeks now. Nuchal next Friday. How is everyone?

LEWEI · 28/08/2003 13:59

Sorry to hear your news TM, i hope things improve for you soon. So glad to see that everyone is well and scans are fine. I will be 14wks on Monday and the morning sickness is settling down a little. I have been busy getting ds's memorial ready for the paper, which has been very distressing at times, just keep thinking " i should be planning a first birthday party, not ordering bouquets and writing a poem" but we just have to deal with it.
Has anyone else got a craving for meat, i was never much of a meat eater (more chicken than anything) but at the moment i just want steak, mince, sausages basically anything with meat in it!
I also caught sight of myself in a full length mirror the other day, i look like i am carrying twins!!!!!!!!!! Dp says i am being paranoid, but i am sure i am bigger now that i was with ds at this stage. Anyway who cares as long as the little bean is healthy and growing, i will deal with the weight issue after we get home from hospital safe and well.
Hope you are all happy and healthy
Dp is grinning from ear to ear today, because Gp has lifted the sex ban. I think he thinks he is in for a treat tonight, don't know if i will be able to stay awake long enough
