It may be a bit previous, but have done 5 tests - all positive (albeit faint lines). Am about 5 weeks. Anyone else out there who has just found out they are expecting?

hello everyone
do you mind if I pop in here from time to time? my baby is due 3 March but fingers crossed will pop out a week or so early or on time rather than 2 weeks late so I might end up with a February baby after all.
When are you all due? are you starting to feel less sick and have a normal sense of smell? please try to say yes and encourage me as I just feel like puking all the time this week - was fine until a few days ago though so I can't complain really.

dino55 · 11/08/2003 23:50

Hi all, went for my scan this afternoon,it was great, all was well, dont remember it being that clear when i had dd's scan, they have also given me my true date 27th feb(few days later) not that im complaining, just glad everything was fine.

LucieB · 12/08/2003 14:56

Dino - good to hear all was well with your scan. I, too thought things were a lot clearer than with my first pregnancy. My last 12 week scan was in Feb 2002 and I don't remember getting such a clear picture!
Who is going to find out the sex at their next scan? I am, and dh is a radiologist so its a foregone conclusion that we will find out! Don't want him to be the only one who knows. We tried to look at the nuchal scan last week but couldn't find anything - its early days yet though

How is everyone? Hope all the scans went well and that everyone is starting to settle into pregnancy now. I am 14 weeks tomorrow - can't believe it although the time is still going far too slowly for me....

i am due either 26th feb 04 or 1st march - the reason i sound so vague is that i had scans at 2 different NHS hospitals (very long story) on the same day and got these different due dates. i'm having a scan tomorrow when i'm either 12 weeks 3 days or 13 weeks - i have been worried that it will be too late for them to see anything but last time (i had a baby 2 yrs ago) i was scanned at 11 weeks and had to come back because it was too early. am i worrying for nothing? i am absolutely huge for only 3 months and people keep asking if i'm pregnant which is tricky because i need to keep it quiet at work for a while longer. is anyone else showing?

LucieB · 20/08/2003 10:36

Haven't put on much weight at all but tummy shows a bit, especially if I stick it out when on the tube! I even got offered a seat yesterday - result!

Hello Feb Mums, another latecomer... I'm due 3rd Feb but with twins, so could be anytime after Christmas I suppose! Going for my second scan at the beginning of Sept, which I'm really looking forward to as at 16 weeks I started to feel movement but it's been very quiet in there for several days... just paranoid! This is my second pregnancy, and I can't really remember what early movement was like... anyone else noticed their peanut roaming about yet? The actual pregnancy was a complete surprise, then the twins thing was the final bombshell! Feeling fine now altho keep dropping off to sleep and leaving poor DH alone all evening...

LucieB · 26/08/2003 15:24

Congrats Fatgaijin on your twins! I haven't felt any movement yet although am only 15 weeks tomorrow so I guess its early days. However, you are supposed to feel it earlier on in your second/subsequent pregnancies aren't you? Don't like this phase much - beginning to lose my waist, normal clothes are starting to feel tight and I just look a bit podgy and not pregnant! Looking forward to getting a bump and to being in maternity clothes (and filling them!).
How is everyone else? Had another scan last week and all looks ok - still can't tell what sex it is!

Hi everyone. I've been away for a while so didn't post about my scan. Didn't have the nuchal bit of it, as dh and I had already decided we wouldn't do anything about a positive result. So just saw the baby.

Bit odd really as first time around we didn't get offered a 13 week scan, just the later one, so I was expecting it to look a bit bigger, and a little less disproportionate (head seemed really big!). But it was good to see the heart beating.

I'm feeling ok now, but was feeling awful until week 14 or so. Am now 17 weeks (they re-adjusted my dates as the baby was bigger than expected). Got mw appt on Friday, and I'm keen to hear the heartbeat, as I haven't really felt much movement. Keep panicking about what I'll do if there isn't one, but I think it's a bit silly to do this.

Noticed that "Jack and Sarah" is on again tonight. Funnily enough it was on at exactly the same stage in my first pregnancy. Richard E Grant's wife dies in childbirth in the first 5 minutes - not a great thing to watch when you're pregnant. Sat there with tears streaming down my face until dh told me to go to bed! So I'll be giving it a miss I think.

Hope you're all feeling OK.

Ghosty · 01/09/2003 21:11

It's been ages since I posted on this thread! Can't believe that I am coming up to 19 weeks now! (Due 30th jan so am on this thread as it is more likely to be a Feb birth)
The sickness is finally on it's way out. Only feel a bit queasy after about 3pm so I have to have a little 'meal' at 4pm to keep me going until dinner. I have cheese and crackers or a marmite sandwich and a yoghurt or something healthy - ish like that.
I am beginning to feel a bit of movement ... little feelings of air popping in my tummy ... but sometimes I get it confused with wind ! I don't remember that when I was pg with DS ... went from no movement to huge kicks straight away ...
Got my next scan next monday ... the 18 - 22 weeks one to see if all the bits are in the right place etc ... really looking forward to that but am a little apprehensive.
Wearing maternity clothes now ... although still don't have a real bump ... just podge!!
So, that's me ...
Glad all is well with you Utka ...
How is everyone else?

LucieB · 03/09/2003 11:52

Good to hear from you Ghosty. Do keep posting on this thread as its quite quiet - January and March are fairly busy by contrast. I am due 17 Feb so slap bang in the middle of the month and am now 16+1 weeks. Am off on holiday for two weeks at the end of this week and then have 20 weeks scan when I return. Time seems to be passing very slowly for me, perhaps because I am not busy at work and am not enjoying my job, and perhaps because we have a lot to do to our house before no 2 arrives.
Haven't felt any movement yet, but am on the verge of a nasty cold, which is bad luck, just as I am off on my hols.
Hope everyone else is keeping well. Still can't tell the sex of the little one. Hopefully will find out soon - ooooh the suspense! Not that I mind either way but am just damn nosey!

Ghosty! 19 weeks ALREADY!!!! MY goodness.

Sounds like you are doing well. Good luck for you rscan.

Ghosty · 03/09/2003 12:17

Hey ... M2T ... where have you been hiding? The place just isn't the same without you ...
Time is flying isn't it? I just had a bath and had a double take when I looked down at my tummy ... beginning to get a bulge there definitely ... and it isn't only blubber anymore!! Yesterday DH gave me a cuddle and said "Ooooh ... that's the first time I have felt that there is something in the way .... " So he is noticing the bump too
Lucie ... have a lovely holiday ... where are you off to? Not some mad camping holiday like some Mumsnetters I know like to do I trust??
We are still undecided about finding out the baby's sex ... didn't with DS and I don't want to be in a position where they tell me one thing and we plan/buy for it and then find at the birth that they made a mistake (can happen ... happened to a friend last year).
I struggled to bond with DS so I wonder whether finding out will help in that way this time? Does anyone have any experiences in that way?

LucieB · 03/09/2003 15:17

We are off to Spain which should be lovely - two weeks of sunshine (hopefully!). I am also getting a bump (and am only 16 weeks - well definitely not got a waist anymore and some of my clothes are too tight now). Ghosty - hope the scan goes well. As to whether you find out the sex - can see the arguments either way but for us, there is no real choice as dh is bound to find out!

Hi everyone. Glad to see that people are posting on this thread again. I'm 18 weeks now and feeling fine, starting to get some energy back although am knackered at the moment as we moved house yesterday. I think we'll be living out of boxes for the next 3 years!
Good luck with your scan on Monday, Ghosty. I've got mine on the same day. Have a great holiday Lucie. I'm so jealous, wish I was off somewhere nice. Hope everyone else is doing well too.

tabitha · 08/09/2003 15:48

Had my 18-22 week scan today and everything appears to be fine, so that's a relief. It was quite amazing to see the baby in so much detail right down to fingers and toes.
How did your scan go Ghosty? Did you decide to find out the baby's scan. I know already from the cvs but don't know whether I'm glad I do or not.

Ghosty · 10/09/2003 07:56

Hi Tabitha ...
So glad your scan was ok ... mine was too All the bits and pieces in the right place and all that.
The great thing here in NZ is that they send you ALL the pictures that they take ... all on x-ray sheets ...
So I have about 20 pictures of my baby (for free) including pics of its kidneys and heart ... as opposed to the 3 floppy ones that I had to pay 4 pounds for in the UK!

Ghosty · 21/09/2003 21:11

It's very quiet here ... is everyone OK?
The Jan and March threads are very active ... Where is everyone???

LucieB · 22/09/2003 10:00

I am back from holiday now and have my 20 week scan next week - looking forward to it although slightly nervous too. Now feeling quite a bit of movement and will be finding out the sex at the scan (all being well). How is everyone? Not many postings in the fortnight I have been away!!!

OP posts:
tabitha · 23/09/2003 11:18

Hi LucieB
Good to hear from you. How was your holiday?
I'm feeling fine - it's my birthday today and my mum's taking me out for lunch. Also, I'm starting ante-natal yoga classes tonight which I'm looking forward to. I went to the same ones when I was having my son six years ago and enjoyed them. At the moment I'm trying to decide whether to change hospital as I've recently moved house. I saw the new midwives at my local health centre this morning and we're trying to arrange for me to visit Stirling Royal Infirmary (the nearest hospital) next Monday for a visit.
Good luck with your scan next week. I'm sure everything will be fine and it's a great chance to see the baby. Up here in Scotland, or in Edinburgh at any rate, it's not standard practice to have a scan at 20 weeks, just the dating one and I had to practically beg the midwives to let me have one both this time and last.

LucieB · 23/09/2003 13:19

tabitha - good holiday thanks but extremely grim to be back at work! I am also considering antenatal yoga classes. Apparently there are some run at Chelsea & Westminster - has anyone reading this thread been to them?
Feeling ok although still very tired (probably due to working full-time in the City and having an active one year old!). But glad I am nearly halfway through. Now have a bump and am starting to have to wear maternity clothes (am 19 weeks)
How is everyone????
