It may be a bit previous, but have done 5 tests - all positive (albeit faint lines). Am about 5 weeks. Anyone else out there who has just found out they are expecting?

Its lovely to hear how everyone is getting along and looking forward to sharing the trials and tribulations of pregnancy over the next 7+months. Its especially nice to chat at the moment as I haven't told anyone really (except a few close friends) but am obviously bursting to tell everyone! Still, know I should keep my feet on the ground over the next 7 weeks....
Am very tired all the time at the moment and have also got quite an appetite!

Hi Dino - I've booked at the local BUPA hospital - nuchal needs to be done at 11-13 weeks I think so not much earlier than NHS dating scan.

Have you asked whether the NHS will do an earlier scan - If you're anxious they might. Otherswise you can self refer to BUPA

Boo hoo, the nausea and tiredness have hit me big time this morning. Am not being physically sick but am finding it really hard to get down to any work and am tempted to slope off to the loos and have a quick kip!
How is everyone else?

Have had my queasiest morning so far today, though still not actually sick. Only really felt better at 9:30am. By this point (6.5 wks) with ds 1 I was being sick morning noon and night though so I am thankful it hasn't got that bad (yet!) By this point with ds2 I was still perfectly well but got sick leter on. They really have all been different.

dino55 · 12/07/2003 11:25

Hi everyone how are you all? LucieB, hows the tiredness and sickness going?I had an early scan last week as DR thought i might have an (eptopic)but everything was fine and i saw the little heartbeat flickering away(what a relief).Hope everyone on this thread are O.K.

Ghosty · 12/07/2003 22:18

Hello ... glad Dino that all is well ... and everone else!
I am 6 days away from the magic 12 week mark ... hurrah! I have my scan on Friday ... nuchal fold wotsit and all. Just can't wait ...
Still feeling pukey and tired .... but all good signs! Have put on silly amounts of weight already (have to eat every hour) and will be the size of a house by 40 weeks Ho hum ... lost the weight before ... will do it again ...

LucieB · 14/07/2003 09:49

Dino - I am fine - the nausea isn't really too bad at all - only really kicks in when I am hungry and tired or when I stand up too quickly! The tiredness is still there and its exacerbated by the fact that it is so hot at the moment and therefore difficult to sleep. But am getting excited about the first scan which is 3.5 weeks away (too long!!!). How is everyone else?
Ghosty - hope the scan goes well....

How is everyone? This thread is quite quiet at the moment...guess things will speed up when we all start having our scans etc...Mine is booked during the first week of August (at 12.5 weeks) and am looking forward to my booking appointment too. Really liked the midwives team I had last time and looking forward to seeing them all again!
Just want the next few months to whizz by now...its awful to wish the summer away but am already thinking about Christmas!

I'm ok. Pretty sick which is horrid but I was already losing the baby by this point last time so it's good that it's still going strong so far.

Does anyone have any morning sickness tips? I am sick of ginger biscuits!

LucieB · 15/07/2003 15:32

Am not really feeling sick although every so often feel dizzy and sort-of nauseous when I consider certain foods.
Last time I did feel sick a lot - found that eating cereal helped and also sherbert lemons - but I think its an individual thing. Try the various recommendations and see what works for you. I often find that I feel nauseous when I haven't eaten enough - so I try to snack little and often to keep my sugar levels up! HTH
What is your due date?

Hi everyone,

hope I'm not too late to join you, but I've been away from mumsnet for a while due to being extemely busy at work and hardly ever able to get on the computer at home. I used to post under a different name but ever since dd1 found out what it was she started looking at everything I posted - not that any of it was that revealing, but it was a pain nonetheless.
Anyway, I'm current almost 11 weeks pregnant with no. 4 - complete surprise!! - had gone back on the pill but think I may have started too late in my cycle for it to work properly. That's the only explanation I can think of. I've come to terms with it anyway and am starting to look on it as a 'happy accident' and be positive about it.
So far haven't told anyone except for dh. Haven't felt too bad except for tiredness and strange headaches, which I also got with no. 3, and occasional feelings of nausea. Funnily enough I feel much better now I'm back at work from my holiday.
Btw, I think Hilary was asking about camping with moning sickness in another thread, I've just come back from a caravan holiday - not the same I know, but it wasn't too bad. The worst thing was the travelling, nightmare journey down there, and refereeing the fights between my 3 kids.

dino55 · 15/07/2003 17:33

Hi Tabitha, nice to hear from you. How old are your other kids? Its good to know somebody elses kids fight in the car!

tabitha · 15/07/2003 20:05

Hi Dino,
they are 16, 12 and 5. The oldest two are girls and the youngest is a boy.

LucieB · 22/07/2003 09:07

How is everyone doing this week? Am still very tired and a teeny bit nauseous in the morning but otherwise not feeling too bad. First scan is booked and is in 2.5 weeks, can't wait! Am about 10 weeks.

Hi LucieB, i still feel quite nauseous and finding it hard to fancy things to eat.Im 10 weeks on friday and my scan is on the 11th aug(cant wait). How is everyone else on this thread?

naughtynoonoo · 22/07/2003 18:17

Hi everybody, it seems to have gone very quite on this site or are people posting somewhere else??? I am 11 weeks today I think, I have my booking in appointment on Friday with scan so can't wait, it seems that I have been waiting for ages. Still feeling really tied, but do go to sleep with DD at lunchtime, so am very lucky I can do that, still eating loads, wonder if it is for 2 or 3 or..... Anyway hope every body is well.

LucieB · 23/07/2003 09:17

Yes, it has gone quiet here, hasn't it? I am not eating nearly as much when I was at this stage with ds...and really the nausea isn't too bad - just feel a bit queasy now and then when I am hungry but haven't been physically sick. I have a friend who is about 36 weeks who is still throwing up every day, poor her. Scan 2 weeks on Thurs and can't wait. Went to see the doctor 3 weeks ago and still haven't heard from midwives.

Utka · 28/07/2003 20:53

Hope I'm not too late to join the thread.

I'm about 11 weeks (?), due 17th Feb. It's my second (dd is 2.5), and I've got my scan next week. Am feeling much worse than first time around, when I wasn't even slightly queasy. This time, although I haven't been actually sick, I feel queasy all the time, and can't face food (except of course for chocolate, biscuits and cakes!). I've found strong ginger beer helps as it's fizzy and got ginger in it (which apparently helps digestion).

Am I right in thinking that next year is a leap year? My dd was 2.5 weeks late, which got me slightly worried about this one arriving on Feb 29th....!

Hilary · 28/07/2003 21:14

I've been worrying about the leap year thing too. Mine is due 26th Feb although my two boys were 10 and 13 days late so I will probably bypass February entirely!

And no, you're not too late to join. The more the merrier.

dino55 · 29/07/2003 18:30

Hi Utka, welcome to this thread.I know exactly how you feel,im feeling queasy and just never know what i fancy to eat(never suffered with sickness with my other pg's).Im 11 weeks on friday and have my scan on 11th aug and it cant come quick enough.LucieB, how are you and how is everyone else on here?

LucieB · 30/07/2003 09:28

I am fine thanks, Dino. This thread has been very quiet recently - much more subdued than the March thread!!! I am now 11 weeks too and my scan is on 7 August - can't wait. Then have booking appointment following week so its all beginning to feel a bit more real although just wishing the time away now! How are you and how is everyone else?
Only real symptoms are some nausea in the mornings and evenings and extreme tiredness - hope they pass soon. Best of luck to you all with your impending scans.

Hello everyone,

just to let everyone know that I had my nuchal scan and cvs last week and got the good news on Friday that everything's fine wrt to the 4 major chromosomal abnormalities that they test for. Also from the scan they could see the spine, heart, bladder and limbs and they all look fine too.
I had planned to tell close family and work this week but have been totally laid low with a horrible cold/flu bug so haven't done it yet.
Hope everyone else is well. Look forward to hearing from you all when you get your scans.

Mutley · 30/07/2003 22:27

Hi all - had by booking scan today and BUPA nuchal and early blood tests next week.

At this stage I know I have one baby in the right place with a heart beat. Assessment of downs risk next week - I'm 37 so risk is about 1/240.

Congrats on your scan results tabitha.

LucieB · 04/08/2003 14:22

How is everyone? I have my nuchal fold scan this week - already getting nervous. Still exhausted but the nausea seems to be lessening. Finding I am not half as hungry as I was when pg with ds.

naughtynoonoo · 04/08/2003 15:01

LucieB I had my nuchal scan on Friday, it was fab, and the results were good too, I am 32 but after they did all the calculations they put me in the same risk as a 15 year old!! It took 3 people to measure the fluid as "Baby" could not lie still for a minute - I didn't mind as I loved watching the screen. The scan people were lovely and I ended up with 5 pictures (I won't tell you where I went!). Try to relax and enjoy! They also gave me an estimated due date of 10th Feb, I made it 9th Feb, but we will have to wait and see
