It may be a bit previous, but have done 5 tests - all positive (albeit faint lines). Am about 5 weeks. Anyone else out there who has just found out they are expecting?

I'm 6 weeks pregnant. I have very few symptons yet, last time I felt so sick.

Hopefully this time I may feel a lot better!

LucieB · 23/06/2003 09:37

JulieF
I am just about 6 weeks too and no real symptoms either apart from the odd headache and feeling quite tired. Not sure if I can put the tiredness down to being pg though as have a very hectic life right now!

Felt good this morning as I finshed filling out the tax credit form, sent off my mortgage form - to change it over, a dark cloud soon appeared, and i quit or had no choice in the matter my job -- it was only two days - my boss is a complte and utter w????r, told myself not to get upset, spoke to darling hubby and broke down and said "how will we survive?", he is so laid back and not a worrymongerer like myself and said not to worry and we will get by. The words of reassurance were just what I needed and I am sitting here thinking I don't give a shit - the most important thing is my family and the little bambino(s??) inside me, everything else is material and can be replaced. I am going to chill chill chill. I really fancied an alcoholic beverage this morning, but settled for orange juce, toast and a pack of cheese and onion crisps, feel much better. Disappointed that there was no letter with a scan date, but hey ho I am sure it will come soon. Hope you are all having a great day, if not things will get better!

Hi February Mums, hope you are all feeling well, I am glad to say I am not eating as much last week, I think I was eating for two or three!! Feeling ok apart from a few sharp twinges above my hips and still waiting for date for my scan, how quick did you have to wait for yours???

dino55 · 24/06/2003 22:27

LucieB · 25/06/2003 09:15

Hi, I got my email from Baby Centre this monring, I am now 8 weeks pregnant, I am due around 9 February, but this hasn't been confirmed. With dd I thought I was 6 weeks and I was in fact 10 weeks, so who knows, I am so impatient I want the date of my scan so I have something to look forward to - hopefully everything will be alright - I am too much of a worrier as well - had a missed miscarriage 1st time round about this time - so myabe that is the reason for that. I have been getting a sharp pain just above my left hip, don't know whether to call my GP as she will probably - it's just ligaments - so I'll wait and see. I am also getting really bad breath and am constantly brushing my teeth, but even the toothpaste is making me heave (luckily that's all I do). Have a nice day everybody xx

Mutley · 25/06/2003 12:40

Hi all,

I'm absolutely fine at the moment but DS is off nursery with a mystery rash - both chicken pox and measles at nursery but this doesn't look like either!

Enquired about places in baby room for my second baby (due early Feb) to be told that no place until Nov 04. I'm the main wage earner so we're going to be broke if I take 11 months mat leave. Must have a chat with DH tonight.

What a day and it's only lunchtime

LucieB · 25/06/2003 12:43

Can anyone give me some reassurance pleeeease!!!

hi lucieb, fwiw, i had a fairly symptomless pregancy until around about six/seven weeks. i even took another test just to be sure it hadn't all been a big mistake.

Mutley · 25/06/2003 19:07

LucieB - in my first pregnancy I had no real signs of pregnancy (apart from positive pregancy test!) I was not convinced until my first scan!

Pregnancy was generally untroubled until third trimester when high blood pressure took over my life.

No news can be good news!

dino55 · 25/06/2003 22:54

Hi LucieB,i know how your feeling, i too dont really have any symptoms apart from tender boobs. I have done 7 tests over the past 2 weeks to convince myself that im really pg.In a way i wish the morning sickness would come so then at least i know my hormones are getting more and more.My friend keeps asking me if im tired in the daytime yet but i can honestly say im not!I know pg symptoms arn't very pleasent but right now i feel i would welcome a few of them.... it is quite worrying,is there anyone else gone through pregnancy without any symptoms and gone on to have a healthy baby.Reasurance needed please.Had much more signs when i had my others.

LucieB · 26/06/2003 10:37

Thanks for all your messages, really appreciate it. I am 6 weeks and 2 days and I guess its early days. Some days I feel tired but thats probably just because I am working f-t and have a 10 month old. Have also had the odd headache but think they were due to not drinking enough. Like you, dino, I am anxious for the symptoms to kick in and yesterday I did yet another test which again was positive. I seem to be a lot more paranoid this time around. I didn't really have that many symptoms last time - a bit of nausea, needing to empty my bladder a lot more and tiredness but that all eased by about 12 weeks. Fingers crossed for us all. So wish I could have an early scan just to confirm things are in the right place and going well etc etc. I find myself wishing the next 8 or so weeks away.

I also went off alcohol and coffee last time and certain foods made me feel ill - none of that this time - maybe that means I am having a girl? Who knows!

How is everyone? Feel utterly exhausted today and on and off a bit nauseous but that might be because I am hungry! First appointment with the GP this week...roll on week 12!

OP posts:
dino55 · 30/06/2003 14:00

Hi LucieB, i also have my 1st appointment with gp this week, and cant wait until week 12 either, it just cant come quick enough. Im not feeling too tired but boobs are still sore and i am also starting to feel alittle sick when i havent eaten for a while. Its also the 1st day today that i havent been able to drink a cup of tea.Going by your dates, when do you think your due date is?

LucieB · 30/06/2003 14:16

on or around 16-19 Feb, I reckon. I am feeling very tired and headachey today. I am not really nauseous though find the same as you - feel a bit sick if I don't eat for a while. Also getting a bit of heartburn. Not told anyone yet - this really is the hard bit!

dino55 · 30/06/2003 14:41

I haven't told anyone yet either, its so hard keeping it a secret.According to my dates i think im due around the 20th feb.

Hilary · 01/07/2003 19:24

Due about the 25th February but, going on my track record, will therefore be 10th March! Hoping to get that far though as last pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 8 weeks in November last year. Have two kids of 4 and 2.

Not sick yet but tired and, boy, can I eat!

chatee · 01/07/2003 20:44

lol

Ghosty · 01/07/2003 21:01

Hello all ... glad to see that the symptoms are kickning in!
Am nearly 10 weeks now and morning sickness has stepped up a notch i.e .. my new name is 'Chunder Bucket'! ... with DS I felt pretty rough until 15/16 weeks so I may have antoher 6 weeks of this to look forward to!!! 2 and a half weeks to go before I can have another scan ... can't wait ... how did women cope before scans I wonder???

dino55 · 02/07/2003 10:08

Well just come back from the dr's and now it all seems so real.He has made my 1st appointment for the midwife on the 31st,i will be 11 weeks then.Is it normal to have a scan at 12 weeks? I thought maybe the Dr would have sent me for an earlier one to confirm dates, its hard having to wait another 4 weeks.Oh and yesterday i felt so sick on and off all day, but i dont feel at all sick today is that normal?

LucieB · 02/07/2003 11:07

No dramatic symptoms for me yet and still no growth in the chest area unlike last time!! Glad to hear everyone is ok. Dino - I had my scans last time at C&W at 12 (nuchal fold) and 20 weeks. Not all health authorities offer the nuchal fold scan at 12 weeks as I understand. I did have a dating scan last time but that was private and not routine.
I am seeing my doctor for my first antenatal appointment at the end of this week. Am now 7 + 1 - time seems to be going really slowly!

OP posts:
Mutley · 02/07/2003 23:05

I have seen my GP now to be "booked" at the local hospital.

I'm also going private to have a nuchal scan too. This is booked for 23rd July. They also offer OSCAR (a one stop clinic for early assessment of risk) which combines biochemistry and ultrasound scans.

Didn't have any of this last time round so I'm not sure how I'll feel about it all

dino55 · 03/07/2003 09:46

Hi Mutley, how do you go about having a private nuchal scan, i am very interested in having an early scan now,if i wait for my DR or MW to send me i have to wait about another 5 weeks.I am only 7 weeks now do you think this is to early to pay for a private scan, i just would love to be reassured, how many weeks are you Mutley?
