Blondie that is great news I'm so pleased for you (is it just me or are we developing a girl, girl, girl, girl, boy, boy, boy, boy, pattern? I predict the next 3 arrivals will be girls!)

Welcome to the world Jessica!

congrats blondie - also 1 handed here!

scotlass · 30/01/2010 15:57

I'm not one handed as DS is now a very active 9 mths and is currently wreaking havoc in his DSis's room while I MN

Just wanted to say well done to blondie and welcome to Jessica! Enjoy every second I don't know if its because pg after mc goes so slow that the time seems to fly once our precious babies are here.

Good luck to all the newbies too. This thread was a huge source of hope / comfort for me for a long time!

upsoearly · 03/02/2010 12:52

Things are looking up! I had a scan this morning (8 weeks 3 days) and everything is looking fine. It was just such a massive relief to see the heartbeat. Now we can start to believe it might be OK, though I know we still have a long way to go.

Good luck to MsJL and iwishuponastar - I hope you have good news very soon.

And of couse congrats to blondie.

blondieminx · 03/02/2010 14:01

Hi all,

Upso that's great news!

Scarlotti, ciara crunch alana thanks . I can't believe I've got an actual baby. Can't stop baby gazing hence lack of posting, sorry! Will try and find the postnatal KC thread soon. Will also do birth story soon - is quite funny. I'm recovering well but it looks like unfortunately Jess has inherited my thyroid prob so that's being looked at, she's got to have a few blood tests over the next few weeks poor little mite! But she's alert, feeding well and generally a little angel. People keep telling me she looks like an Anne Geddes baby! I feel truly blessed and have had great support so far, which is lovely.

I've done a bit of tidying up of the list - newbies please add yourselves as and when you feel ready to do so. This thread was such a great source of support while I was pg, just take it one day at a time. I wish you all long and happy stays on the thread, and happy babies who sleep well when they arrive!

upsoearly Your post has given me a bit of hope, I am being scanned tommorrow so I will no for sure what is happening. I am 6wks + 3 days. Last week I had pink discharge on & off and on one occassion I had red blood appear when I wiped myself after going to the toilet. I also bleed red blood very lightly on the Fri Morning and have had nothing since today, I have just started bleeding bright red blood again. Did you bleed much before seeing the hearbeat? and was it red blood? Are you taking baby Asprin? sorry for all the questions, I am trying to give myself a bit of hope especially after having 3 m/c.

upsoearly · 04/02/2010 09:18

Hi iwishuponastar. I do hope the scan goes well today. I had two bits of bleeding, one at almost 6 weeks and one a week or so later red blood, but not a lot), nothing more yet. I'm not taking aspirin - i wasn't sure if I should without a doctor's advice.

My first scan was at 5 weeks 6 days and there was no heartbeat so I was very down, even though they did say it might be too early - I guess the same might be true for you today, so try not to assume anything unless they give you a definite response.

Sorry - you probably know more about all this than I do - I just saw you have had 3 m/cs. I do hope that this time things work out better for you. Let us know how the scan went.

iwishuponastar · 08/02/2010 16:36

Well I had a scan today and I saw a heart beat, I am over the moon, the sonographer said it is still early so I am not getting my hopes up too much. I am booked in for another scan in 2wks which will make me 9wks. I can't wait. Had an awfull week last week with sickness and tiredness, and think it's going to continue this week...! Not looking forward to it.

upsoearly · 08/02/2010 21:22

Great news iwishuponastar! It is so amazing to see a heartbeat isn't it? Hope you don't feel too awful this week. I'm pretty shattered but sickness not too bad. Keeping everything crossed for the next scan.

iwishuponastar · 09/02/2010 08:47

Thanks upsoearly it was amazing, its the first time I have ever seen a heartbeat so it was very over whelming.

Hope all is well with you. Speak soon. x

iwishuponastar · 12/02/2010 13:07

Cant believe how this pregnancy is going. I was tested last year for recurrent m/c and when I went back to consultant they said everything was normal, I got called to the hospital Thursday for them to tell me my Chromosomal test is abnormal and it could effect my baby as my chromosomes may be passed on. I have been told I can be tested between 10- 14wks which is the Amniocentesis test or CVS analyses. I just can't beleive this has happened. What if they tell me the baby has chromsomal abnormalities but they don't know what effects it will have on the baby. If I have these tests there is also a chance I could miscarry. I am also thinking well I have the chromsomal abnormalities and I am a very healthy normal person.

Has anyone else been through this? If they did how good are the tests with finding out if my baby did have an abnormality what it would be.

I see a genetic specialist next week but I am so worried. In the back of my mind I keep telling myself the other pregnancies that ended in m/c must of been because the baby had an abnormality and this pregnancy must be normal because it hasn't ended in miscarriage. I was so happy Monday after seeing the heartbeat for the first time and yesterday I received this news.

upsoearly · 12/02/2010 13:26

I'm afraid I don't know anything about chromosomal abnormalities iwishuponaastar, but I just wanted to say I'm so sorry to hear you have this extra anxiety to deal with.

I really hope the specialist is able to give you some reassurance next week. I guess the thing to focus on might be that there is only a chance that any abnormality be passed on and the baby might not be affected at all.

Will be thinking of you next week and hope you can try to stay positive until then, though I can imagine how hard it must be.

sydneysuze · 18/02/2010 10:35

Hi from Oman!

Just popped on to check for news - huge congrats to Ciara and Blondie!!!!!!!

Well done you guys and welcome to the world of Nappy Checkers!

Can't believe LittleSyd is 22 weeks tomorrow - seems like yesterday I was 22 weeks pregnant and repeating 'it will be alright' to myself every morning. She's currently giggling away on the sofa next to me and I think I might burst she's so cute.

Hang on in there newbies - it's all worth it.
