LeeWT · 02/03/2010 22:28

but i hear you on the thirst.. god its wild and does not help with the peeing fifty times a night..

interesting fact.. i have been so sick all day today, with the exception of the hour i was in an appeal hearing and was arguing tooth and nail with the commissioner.. distraction? adrenaline? if they'll let me i'll gatecrash some more hearings tomorrow!

louise let us know how you get on with scan xxx

Freezingmyarseoff · 02/03/2010 22:36

Thanks for the welcome
I lurked on the ttc after mc thread but never actually joined. I was lucky enough to get pregnant before first AF.
Am due on 21st Oct but need a dating scan to confirm.
Phew feel better already to tell someone other than DH

Effilump · 03/03/2010 10:08

Morning everyone, and welcome freezingmyarseoff
Good to hear things have settled down for you cheepz
Im exactly the same with the symptoms thing, when i havnt got any im convinced it's all over, and then i'll start to feel sick and relax again. Madness. I've got an apt with the midwife this morning, not expecting her to do much, I know she'll book my 12 wk scan, so thats okay. I've already booked myself a private early one anyway, I cant wait, it would drive me mad.
cheepz I think its ok to finish the conception vitamins before moving onto pregnancy ones, I was taking them too, and I think it says so on the box doesnt it?

thefatladyscreams · 03/03/2010 10:10

I finished off my conception ones cheepz - seemed a waste not to use them plus my superstitious side was putting off buying the pregnancy ones!

I've had the thirst for the last week or so. Found I have to make myself drink loads in the day or I'm dehydrated at night and end up drinking loads then and getting up all night.

Lee - so pleased to hear you weren't feeling sick during the appeal. They might give you an odd look if start lurking outside the appeal room!

Freezing - love the name my the way. It's lovely having this group of ladies to obsess away with! It helps keep me (and my DH by proxy) slightly sane!

Effilump · 03/03/2010 10:11

boodle Glad your scan went well.

emmielou81 · 03/03/2010 11:29

Hi Ladies

Hope you don't mind another gatecrasher! Im currently 5+6 on my 5th pregancy, had a MMC, followed by a gorgeous son (5yrs) and a beautiful daughter (3yrs), then another MMC that was picked up on my 12wk scan on December 11th that I had an ERPC for.. Absolutely terrified now

Never posted on these boards before, spent the last week reading a couple and thought it lovely to see what a great support network is available! Having very mild symptoms at the mo, though I've never had anything other than mild nausea in all of my pregnancies, Im just doing the whole paranoid, over analytical thing constantly! Saw Doc yesterday who's referring me for an early scan, have to wait for app to come through post, hopefully will be seen in the next fortnight or so.. The waiting is agonising..

thefatladyscreams · 03/03/2010 11:42

Welcome emmielou81, great to have you on board.

The waiting is agony isn't it. You just can't win - obsessing over every twinge and sympton. I had a mmc last year and it's just such a horrible thought that something may have gone wrong but you don't know about it.

I have come to the conclusion that being pregnant is mental torture!

But there are some ladies on this thread who are much further down the path and give me hope!

Hope your appointment comes through soon.

Cheepz · 03/03/2010 12:02

I am at the epu, dr got me early scan for today!! Last time I was here was to confirm mc so it feels horrible being here again although nurse ha done pre check and confirmed everything is normal so far.

Didn't expect to be so nervous. Have found I am expecting the worst! Such an idiot. Hopefully won't have to wait to much longer.

thefatladyscreams · 03/03/2010 12:49

Cheepz - fingers crossed for you and sending you loads of positive, bad-memory busting vibes!

boodleboot · 03/03/2010 13:14

OMG....cheepzy it will be fine.....how exciting. Totally feel your nerves but try to keep calm and remember to breathe....

welcome emmielou

Hello to freezing and emmielou. Welcome.

Hope everything goes OK today at the EPU cheepz. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Sounds like lots of other people on here are getting on along well, which is great news.

I had another gynae appointment this morning. Nearly 36 weeks and baby is fine. Wiggling around all over the place, but still stubbornly breech. I'm probably going for an ECV next Thursday on the maternity suite (just incase anything goes wrong). Praying it works, as I'd really like to avoid a c-section.

Glad everything's good with your boy hoops. Is he still transverse? Can't believe how close we're getting now. Only 1 more week of work after this week thank goodness!

Cheepz · 03/03/2010 13:44

Saw Heartbeat...........all looks fine and normal. Waiting to see doctor to discuss but it's looking fine for now. So relieved and abut emotional!

HoopsIsGettingMassive · 03/03/2010 13:47

amyboo no he has turned again and is now very much head down and ready to go!! Hope your ECV goes ok, and that when they manage to turn him he stays there!!

I also can't quite believe how quickly these last 9 months have gone........

Welcome to newbies, hope you are all feeling good and not too nervous, there are a couple of us due to drop in the next 4 weeks and we have been through soon tough times and this thread has really helped us on our way........

HoopsIsGettingMassive · 03/03/2010 13:49

woo hoo fab news cheepz always good to see a lovely heartbeat xx

amyboo · 03/03/2010 14:38

Yeah - that's great news cheepz. You must be so relieved. Huge congratulations.

Glad that minihoops is now facing the right way hoops. I can't say I'm looking forward to an ECV, but I'm willing to try anything to try and avoid a c-section. I'm still hoping he might get the right idea before then and move on his own accord. Wishful thinking perhaps....

Freezingmyarseoff · 03/03/2010 14:40

Very exciting to hear about the babies almost ready to explore the outside world. I always get emotional about new babies. I was a bit of mess last watching one born every minute (like I am every week).

Can I ask, have many of you managed to get early scans through the NHS or gone privately? I was booked in on Sunday and community midwife said she'd request an early scan but it would be up the hospital as to whether they would give me one. I don't think I can wait another 6 or 7 weeks, and tbh I'm abit confused about how far along I am.

HoopsIsGettingMassive · 03/03/2010 14:53

freezing I think about 99% of us have managed to get early scans on the NHS due to history/bleeding.....hope you manage to get one, there is nothing like seeing the little heartbeat for the first time, I did at 6 week due to bleeding

thefatladyscreams · 03/03/2010 15:18

Oh cheepz - that is fantastic news. So pleased for you.

Apologies in advance for the me, me, me moan. Just got a letter through giving me a scan date of 26 March when I will be 13 2. I had been promised an early scan at 10 weeks, then told that wasn't allowed anymore and would get a 12 week appointment. Now I've got to wait even longer. Just tried to ring and get it bought forward but they are shut after 1.30pm which their letter helpfully didn't mention. Sorry for the rant - I know in the overall scheme of things it's not critical. It's just I'm 10 weeks today and that's to the day when I miscarried last time. And I keep feeling so scared that I'll have another mmc. So horrible feeling scared all the time. Sorry - - rant over. As you were.

thefatladyscreams · 03/03/2010 15:20

Freezing - the policy is my area has just changed. You can only have an early scan if you have an etopic history or three previous miscarriages. But everyone else on this thread seems to have got early scans so fingers crossed that you will.

LeeWT · 03/03/2010 15:34

CHEEEEEPZ omg that's amazzzing!! im so excited in work and getting strange looks!!!

once they detect a heartbeat your odds are wayyy better!!

TFLS the EXACT same has happened to me, i've been given the 26th march and by then i'll be 14 weeks by their dates and 13 by mine.. plus we have a family ceremony for burying nanna's ashes the weekend before and it would have been really really nice to be able to announce the pregnancy then with the scan behind me. i called today to try and have it put forward but have to call back this afternoon..

welcome emmielou

good luck amy and just to say i had a section with DD and it really wasnt bad.. quite peaceful actually.. so if worst comes to the worst dont worry!

effilump when's your scan?

thefatladyscreams · 03/03/2010 15:59

Lee - hope they can work out something sooner for you. 26th is my mum's birthday so I was hoping to have some good news to announce by then. Of course, I'm paranoid that it will be bad news and don't want to be a crying wreck and trying to hide it from mum on her birthday (she doesn't know that we're even trying). What is it with scan appointments and that date!

Just rang re private scans. They charge £120 around here and want a refereral letter from the GP. Boodle - did you have to provide a referral letter?

memorylapse · 03/03/2010 16:06

blimey..so much to catch up on..welcome to the newly pregnant ladies..this thread has been fantastic..I think I joined here at about 6 weeks pregnant..and has been a great source of support

Cheepz congrats on the positive scan..thats wonderful news

Im soo tired today...heartburn, rib ache, everything ache keeps me awake...spent this afternoon asleep.

Our travel system arrived yesterday...cant beleive that baby could be here in about 6 weeks

MW popped round yesterday as no high risk clinic this week...bump is measuring 35 weeks!

memorylapse · 03/03/2010 16:08

TFLS...I had a few early private scans and I only paid £75...they do not usually ask for a referal from a GP..where abouts are you if you dont mind me asking?

thefatladyscreams · 03/03/2010 16:10

Thanks memorylapse - I'm in Bucks. Sorry you're feeling so wiped out. Hope you get some quality sleep soon.
