Effilump - that's fantastic news. Enjoy the relaxation - bet you sleep like a log tonight.

amyboo - sorry he hasn't moved. Hope you get your date confirmed soon.

Memory - sorry not sure if I've missed something but why the high risk clinic? Sounds like you should be taking it easy and nuturing yourself whilst you get the chance!

Love the definition "you're a pregnant wuss"! Thanks for the reassurance meita. Being an idiot I spent ages googling yesterday to alternative scare and reassure myself. Did find some fantastic stat about the chances of success after seeing the heartbeart at 8 weeks - they were stonking - meant to cut and paste for lots of you (but forgot ).

The cold has lessened up but the disturbed sleep has well and truly continued. Don't think I've had a good night's sleep since about week 4! Sorry the rash is still continuing. Annoying if less worrying now at least. I guess you can't take anti histimine at the moment. I did find some references to rashes being common in pregnancy - e.g.:

Pregnant women can also be affected by rashes like eczema and psoriasis. Moisturising creams like calamine lotion are safe to use to soothe the skin. Your doctor will advise you on using steroid creams.

What did pregnant women do before google - besides the obvious answer of worry and obsess less!!

memorylapse · 13/03/2010 20:08

Hi All....Ive been going to the high risk clinic since I was 16 weeks as I have Gestational Diabetes, underactive thyroid, kidney trouble and am on blood thinners..apart from that Im fine!

they monitor you really closely with diabetes so Im seen every 2 weeks and have had regular growth scans from 28 weeks..am told to expect induction around 38 weeks as Im on insulin

louisesh · 14/03/2010 19:56

hello ladies, well it looks like I'm in early labour, had to go to the hospital yesterday cause I was having every sort of pain you can think of!! Midwife examined me and I'm 1 cm dilated and contracting every 10 minutes or so, so mini-hoops shouldn't be too long now.........

Meita · 14/03/2010 22:00

effilump great news! Glad to hear it. You must be so relieved.

Hoops soooo exciting! Best of luck in the coming days!

emmielou81 · 15/03/2010 08:31

Effilump · 15/03/2010 10:08

Thanks everyone, relieved isnt the word! we're still keeping it to ourselves untill after the 12 wk dating scan, but im so happy! My toddler cried and wriggled all the way through the scan, not so pleased at his first glimpse of his new brother or sister!
hoops heres wishing you a smooth easy labour.
Hello and good morning to everyone else.

Freezingmyarseoff · 15/03/2010 10:16

Morning everyone, I can hardly keep up with the news.
Very happy for you effilump with the positive scan news.
Looking forward to hearing some cries from minihoops, hope it all goes well hoops

Just been re-reading the past few days of posts to catch up with everyone's news but got sidetracked by the mention of salt and vinegar chipsticks... I have been eating for england in the past few days, anything I can get my hands on. Went to a birthday party yesterday for a friends 2 yo DD. I was in heaven eating mini sausage rolls, fairy cakes and carrot sticks, luckily the kids weren't very hungry

Hope everyone is well and had a relaxing weekend.

Cheepz · 15/03/2010 10:35

I give up. Now I've missed myself off. Aaaarrrggg...

thefatladyscreams · 15/03/2010 18:16

Hoops - go hoops go! So exciting. Wishing you and minihoops all the best and looking out for the annoucement.

Cheepz - prawn & mayo ummmmmm. Had a craving for prawn cocktail with a crispy baguette at the weekend. Well I say craving, maybe it's just me trying to relabel being greedy! Good news that you've got the reason for the spotting sorted. I found accupressure bands helped with the nausea. Just popped into the other thread and now I really want a lemon cupcake - they were handing them out!

Freezing - your party sounds delicious! Well except for the carrot sticks!

Memory - sounds like they are taking really good care of you. Must cost you a fortune in hospital parking though!!

Sarahlou - that's why I never touch the list now! I always screwed it up. Wow, sounds like a stressful week. Well done on the housesale - have you got anywhere new sorted? Sounds good that the spotting isn't going anywhere - IYKWIM. Hope you can take things a bit easier this week.

One week to go to my scan. Feels like the Sword of Damacles is hanging over me!

amyboo · 17/03/2010 07:14

Just checking to see if there's any news from hoops yet... I've got a date for my caesarean now - 29th March at 10am. The gynae offered me Tuesday (23rd), but that kinda panicked me a bit, so we're going for 29th instead. I'm still worrying insanely about it all, and am quite upset that I won't get to hold my baby boy straight away. Still, they've said that they can give him to my husband to hold while they close me up, so hopefully that will be OK.

Good luck to everyone else with scans coming up etc.

Cheepz · 17/03/2010 09:28

i feel sick sick sick .... all the time, didn't have this last time - its f*cking horrendous!!! even when i am sick i don't feel better, at this rate am going to have to take time of work, can't just sit here gagging all day - anyone got any tips to help?

went to bed at 8 last night because I didn't want to be awake feeling sick anymore!

Freezingmyarseoff · 17/03/2010 10:02

Me too cheepz. I've been feeling awful for the last few days, and started being sick too. I don't know if gets worse with each pregnancy or what but I now realise I was really lucky last time. I also went to bed early last night, same time as DD at 7pm!!
Any tips gratefully received. Might try some of those travel sick wrist bands.

Good news amyboo about getting your c-section date. Totally understand about freaking out with dates too early. With DD they called me up and said can you come in tomorrow! Anyway was all fine, and I'm sure I had DD on my chest for a few minutes while they were stitching me up but it was all rather a blur so I could be wrong. Tis totally true what they say that it doesn't matter how you give birth in the end, it's having a wonderful baby that only counts.

SamanthaB123 · 17/03/2010 11:22

cheepz and freezing We're all at about the same stage - I'm 9 weeks today and my nausea is horrific. I feel sick every minute of the day and wake up in the night feeling sick. I've come home from school today because I was awake for half the night as well. Once I get up to go to the loo I can't get back to sleep so I am getting increasingly tired too. It's desperate isn't it? Nothing seems to control the sick feeling. Earlier on in the pregnancy eating seemed to help but now I'm right off all food and drink. I'm eating because I must but I hate it.

I'm feeling really emotional and sad at the moment, I don't feel like I'll ever stop feeling sick... SB

Cheepz · 17/03/2010 11:35

Good idea freezing found acupressure bands in bottom of handbag - use them on ferry when go and see folks in france, seems to be helping a little, feel marginally less nauseous than yesterday so far and haven't been sick.

samb know what you mean about having moved from eating helping to eating being a necessity! I am trying to have something every 2 hours. Cream crackers are my new best friend and skimmed milk.I will be 9 weeks on friday and just console myself that everything you read suggests nausea is a good indicator of high hormone levels which reduce likelihood of mc

as for never feeling nrmal again - I had 18 months of sleep deprivations hell with DS where it felt like life would never be good again, but eventually it gets better, Its amazing what you can tolerate

worst thing for me is feel bad for moaning about symptoms when all i wanted for months was to be pregnant! and there are so many post mc ladies who would happily be sick as a dog just to be where we are now so i try and think along those lines - is hard when had none of this last time!
