Hi boodle. I'm keeping absolutely everything crossed for you that this one sticks. Glad that the scan was OK. Hope you manage to relax at some point in the next 6 weeks - the waiting is torture isn't it? Fingers crossed for you.

Meita · 21/01/2010 11:16

Welcome boodle! So glad you made it here
You do know though that the MC risk is significantly reduced once you've seen the heartbeat? Am just a teensy bit jealous of your early scan... I'm still waiting for my regular 12-week scan (2nd Feb) and move from being convinced that it will show "no heartbeat and embryo stopped growing in week 7" to being confident and excited, from one moment to the next and without reason. Ah well. Not long to go now.

hoops so sorry to hear about your SPD. How is it going? Any relief? And how are you enjoying your temporary retirement?
How was that flat?

totally Really sounds like you are having a crappy time. I just hope it gets better soon. How's the raspberry leaf tea?

amyboo good news that things might sort themselves out. Having a baby is so worrying. But I guess it's "let's cross that bridge when we get there"... no point in worrying about things that might not even happen.

apples, any news on the twins-front? And cake, how are you? Is that scan tomorrow or in a week? Fingers crossed that it all goes well!

hoops997 · 22/01/2010 00:17

hello all,

boodle fabulous news with your scan....

meita now I have stopped going to work and walkng around the pain seems to have eased a little bit, I looked at the flat and it was absolutely perfect for me and mini-hoops so I paid the rent and deposit there and then and have started buying all my own furniture woo hoo, can start decorating a little nursery for mini-hoops

I'm absolutely LOVING being on leave, it's great but no doubt the novelty will wear off soon and I'll start getting bored......

Hope everyone is doing great.....

Meita · 22/01/2010 14:07

Glad to hear the leave is being good to you, hoops and that you've found the perfect flat!
I love moving in to new places. It's a lot of work, but you can make the place "yours"... Perfect for when you're nesting, I suppose! Enjoy!

memorylapse · 23/01/2010 12:14

Hi All..cant beleive Im almost 26 weeks!

Just spent a week in hospital as my diabetes went all over the shop..am now stabilised and on insulin 3 times a day. bump is measuring 30 weeks and dont I know it!..one swift kick can send my cofee cup flying now!
Im anaemic too so have bought some spatone sachets..

Totally..sorry to hear that you are having a rough time..all I can say is that this will hopefully all melt away when you have your brand new baby..not long now

amyboo..try not to panic about the kidney thing..I was born with horeshoe kidneys and one is dilated..the worst case scenario is more frequent wee infections so they may recommend putting baby on some anti biotics for a few months.

hoops..enjoy your maternity leave

Boodle..so pleased to hear your news, keeping fingers tightly crossed for mini boodle.

meita..not long till your scan now

Jacanne · 23/01/2010 20:27

Hi Everyone - hope you are all doing well.

Sorry to hear about your diabetes problems Memory - glad it's settled now - I'm nearly 26 weeks too - into our 3rd trimester!!

Boodle - am keeping everything crossed for you

Amyboo - hope everything will be fine and you're not worrying too much.

Totally - I hope things improve soon - all sounds quite shitty.

Hoops - I'll be joining you on mat leave soonish - I have 5 weeks to go (which seems like forever, lol).

Meita - hope the time flies until your scan!

I had my internal scan to check for liklihood of prem labour or Pre-eclampsia - happily I am very low risk for both - got to see baby again and they doubled checked - she's definitely of the pink persuasion! She's quite feisty and kicks a lot at night, bless her - the girls are very excited now my bump is so obvious - I think it's more real to them now - they talk to her a lot and are always kissing the bump.

memorylapse · 23/01/2010 21:00

Jacanne..glad the scan brought good news..cant beleive we are a week away from 3rd tri!

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied · 27/01/2010 13:34

Hi guys,

feeling much better today Very positive. Can't believe I'm 36 weeks and going to have a baby soon!

Jacanne- glad you're low risk and baby is a girl. Are you up t'north or down south?

My maternity leave has officially started. Got a few more bits of work to do and take in but I have no intensions of doing it today

LeeWT · 27/01/2010 13:35

hi all.. so i think you all know theres a flurry of bfps in the last few weeks - SEVEN since Meita's, including my good self..

i'm pretty much hanging out on the ttc thread still as im only 5 weeks BUT now im panicking about symptoms and stuff so thought you guys might be the better hand holders.. im tired and feeling a little off but other than that i have nothing.

is that right? i cant remember and after two mmcs of course i cant relax.

So delighted to see you all doing so well i cant believe some of you are near to popping.. :-)

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied · 27/01/2010 13:39

Hi Lee, yay, I didn't know there'd been a flurry.. very happy for you

5 weeks there's no symptoms. By 7 weeks I was starting to feel a bit run down and shite. Apparently the hormones don't start until 6 weeks and they reach their highest at 12 weeks then things start to settle. So please don't panic.

boodleboot · 27/01/2010 15:09

good, lee you are here....phew. The other thread has been sooo busy lately and grown so big that i kind of started feeling a bit lost on it.....you know, not wanting to rub peoples noses in my BFP that perhaps don't know my history etc...

i am seven weeks now and feeling crapola. Huge boobs, very veiny and hot, the sickness started for me very quickly after 6wk scan....i had really high hormone levels te begin with so i think that is why i have felt soooo awful with headaches etc since the outset....

am now trying not to get nervous about the time inbetween scans....1st march seems awful far away to me.....thats my 12weeker....

not even going near a midwife until 12wk scan over.....just can't....

what you done about your BFP so far? I answered your slimming world/WW question and think we need to def both keep an eye on overexpansion of arse....whats a little weekly weigh in between friends ha....

Hey to everyone else, like lee says i think this thread is about to get some new additions....

OP posts:
randomimposter · 27/01/2010 16:02

hi all
wondered if I could pop over from the MC TTC thread... agree with Boodle it's all gone crazy busy, and I can barely keep up.

In brief am 6+5 today; had a MMC at my nuchal fold scan at 12+6 last August, baby had died at 11+6. I am 41, and have a DS of 20 months.

I'm feeling knackered (not helped by previously angelic at sleeping DS playing "wide awake club" at various silly o'clocks for the last 6 weeks or so...) and also worried of course that all not well...

agree with you boodle March seems like a lifetime away...

Will read through the thread later and get a feel for who's who... gotta dash DS demanding me again...

applesaretheonlyfruit · 27/01/2010 16:14

Hi,
Trying to catch up with everyones news.
Haven't felt like visiting MN recently as I lost one of the twins at 8weeks. After a heartbeat and everything. Other baby is still okay at 13w4d now. Had the nuchal scan last week and risk is 1/145, which is apparently high. But the neck thickness measurement was 1.9, absolutely standard, so the risk factor was raised by my age (41). Am booked for amio but don't think I'll go through with it. With a current risk of 1/145, there is a higher risk at 1/100 that the amio with cause a miscarriage. Not going there then..

I'm just a bit down because that makes three miscarriages, and now I feel like I have been left with half of something. Still, half of something is a whole baby, which was the point..

Must get a doppler to check obsessively on heartbeat. Never stops, does it?

boodleboot · 27/01/2010 16:26

apples i am so sorry for your loss hun....that is gutting....sending you really really bigs hugs....

OP posts:
thefatladyscreams · 27/01/2010 18:28

Hi everyone - another one from the MC TTC thread who'd like to join. I'm 5 weeks today and feeling pretty aprehensive as had a MMC at 10 weeks last year.

Oh apples sweetie - I was only thinking of you the other day and wondering how you were doing. I'm so sorry for you - big hugs. That must be really hard.

hoops997 · 27/01/2010 18:50

Jacanne · 27/01/2010 19:40

So pleased to hear of all the BFPs and sending you all lots of sticky vibes. So sorry to hear about the loss of your little one apples - but very glad to hear you still have one in there.

Totally, I'm in the South East

LeeWT · 27/01/2010 20:03

apples welcome back and so sorry my sweet that this happened to you. it seems that all life does is throw good things your way and then whip them away BUT I have all my hopes pinned on that miracle babby in your tummy right now! we're all here if you need to talk anytime.

hoops hi howareya!

tfls i'm five weeks today too so we must have the same dates.

did any of you change your lmp for the drs? if you went by my lmp it would make me 6+3 today but my cycle is 32 days usually AND i think i ovulated 5 days late meaning my my calculations i would be NINE days behind the official calculations at 5wks.

i called the epu today and coincidentally got speaking to my surgeon from the last time (frequent flier that i am!) and he booked me in for an early scan next thursday when i will be 6+1 (by my dates!)... Very Important Question - is this too early to see a heartbeat?

boodle i KEEP meaning to reply about this - i defo want to do a ww thread to keep an eye on the weight gain this time. im planning to do a 10k walk in june for charity and have started walking now already hopefully thats not too bad for the baby considering technically ive only done it since getting preg.

anyway sorry for the monster post.. all advice from you successfully preggers ladies gratefully received! x

hoops997 · 27/01/2010 20:36

hello lee welcome back, forgot to add in my other post, I'm also sending lots of superglue style sticky vibes to all the newcomers....I don't think 6+1 is too soon to see a heartbeat especially with an internal scan, pretty sure that's when I first saw mini-hoops' heartbeat, yep just checked through my notes and I was exactly 6 weeks when I saw his heartbeat, good luck with your scan chick

Meita · 27/01/2010 21:14

oh... the activity has moved over here! Glad to see you all here

apples that's tragic, I really feel for you. It must be terribly hard to be happy and excited for the surviving twin whilst at the same time allowing grief for the one who didn't make it. I would imagine you'd feel completely torn. And then to add insult to injury I'm certain there will be people who think you should just be happy, as after all it looks like you are still having a baby... some people just don't get that you have lost a baby and that it's not interchangeable or replaceable with another one, even if it is its twin. Oh poor you. I wish I could give you a big hug.

totally I'm really glad you are feeling so much better. Yay... it might be only a matter of a couple of weeks now! How exciting!

lee ah... the no-symptoms-panic... well perhaps you find it reassuring that I had ZERO symptoms until Christmas, which was 2 weeks after the BFP. Since then though I've had the priviledge of feeling sick pretty non-stop. I do remember saying "I'll probably regret it later, but I do wish I were a little sick, just to know everything was alright". And well I do regret it now . And the other point is, some people hardly get any symptoms at all... that does NOT mean that something is going wrong. Just as having all the symptoms doesn't mean that everything is alright.
Yep I too think that 6 weeks should show a heartbeat. Admittedly sometimes they can't find any, but I suppose in most cases that's because the women are actually less far along than they thought/claimed. You're going to be 6 weeks by conservative reckoning - I'm pretty sure you should be ok.

I'm really happy and feel priviledged to be in such great company! Sticky sticky sticky thoughts all round (except to Totally)

Meita · 27/01/2010 21:34

Also, am wondering how louise is doing. I hope all is well with her and she will be able to join us here soon.

Cheepz · 27/01/2010 22:29

Just checking up on all you guys and glad to know almost everything going brilliantly

apples heart goes out to you ..... life is cruel sometimes. I had a 2nd mc 2 weeks ago - but was so early hadn't even had BFP, only got it after when I realised something was wrong. But would rather deal with that that what you must have had to go through. As Meita said, not any consolation you still have one baby when you have lost one. Much love

boodleboot · 29/01/2010 08:27

ooh this sickness is really not very pleasant you know....i have no energy for ANYTHING....housework really needs doing yet all i can do is stare at it nauseously....i'm struggling working fulltime at the moment.....going to speak to my boss about working from home on a wednesday to break the week up and let me work in my PJ's one week.

and don't get me started on how fat i am.....seriously.

hi cheepz.....see you very soon on here hopefully....x

OP posts:
hoops997 · 29/01/2010 09:59

hey boodle the sickness sounds like a positive thing (even though you feel like poo!!)

How is everyone else doing, hope you're all feeling good, and to echo boodle cheepz, you'll be here soon

Meita · 29/01/2010 10:53

Four days to go...

boodle I know! But somehow it's even worse when it goes away for a day... it's really a no-win situation. All you can do is wait patiently.

Oh, and grapes. Excellent healthy snack which you can space out throughout the day. One grape per 20 minutes for instance.

cheepz can't wait to have you here as a "regular"
