I'm 36 weeks and so bloody fed up now. Fed up of not being able to get comfortable, needing the toilet every 30 minutes and most of all people asking me how long to go, "ooh haven't you popped yet?", "It could be another 6 weeks yet if you go over". ARGH!!!!!

So I thought I'd start a thread for all us pregnant ladies who are fed up of waiting. I know there was one a few weeks ago but I couldn't find it.

My bump has moved south! There is no bum in my ribs anymore but there feels like there is a watermelon between my legs. Hopefully he won't be long now.

Morning all, still no sign of this baby coming out - but I have now entered paranoid city - ive woken at 5am for the bathroom and for some reason feel like she hasnt moved in ages. I know her movements are much suttler now she has run out of room - and she is probabley asleep - but i would do anything to feel her kick me right now.

So im now trying to ice cold water, gonna try some sugar in a minute but god i am through with pregnancy already

Hi Ladies, could I please join you. My due date was Saturday so I'm now officially 3 days overdue. Had a false alarm 2 weeks ago and have had bad BH since then but nothing else. I'm seeing my midwife this afternoon so will see what she says/do. To say I have had enough is an understatement. Canl't wait for my baby, this is my second one.

Kelly7 · 02/12/2008 09:55

Morning BestestMummyof2 - im new too - so welcome! I hope all goes well with your midwife today - they should offer you a sweep which may help?? Im 38 weeks today and already feel like im overdue haha. I have a scan tomorrow (im taking part in a pregnancy study) so at least that will help pass the day!

Hi Everyone!

Katelin Amelia-May was born last Friday, 28th November at 9.11am. She weighs 7lbs 6 ozs and was 55cm long! Takes after her daddy (he's 6'6!)

I had a great labour (once it finally got really going) - only 7 hours and the average for a first baby is 12 - 15! I also achieved my goal - to only do it with gas and air. Dont get me wrong, next time it'll be an epidural but i'm glad i persevered and did it this way! My waters didnt break until i was fully dilated and then she arrived 10 mins later. Again, the midwives were amazed as the average pushing time is 2 hours!

My early labour started Mon night, contractions 10 - 12 mins apart, continued on like this till Wed aft and then they got harder and quicker, down to 4 mins in the end. Loaded the car up, drove 45 mins to hosp and got there at 11.30pm expecting to come home with a baby. Contractions were still 4 mins apart and wasnt on any pain relief - was told i was 3cm. Continued on till 6am and they started dying off. By 9am, they were 1 in 15. They told me to go to antenatal ward, i couldnt stick it there so i went home mid morning. I was distraught, cried and cried, i expected to walk through my door with my baby. So this is now Thurs aft, i havent slept for 2 days and im knackered! About 3.30pm, it all kicked off again, down to 1 in 8 etc but more painful. By 12am, they were 1 in 4 and i was screaming in agony. DP packed me in the car and drove me back to hospital. I was admitted to labour ward just after 1am and was 4cm, was pronounced as in active labour at 2amish. Well it was the worst thing i've ever been through! Dont get me wrong, i'd do it all again for her but i seriously cant get over how hard it was! The midwives were so good to me and i left at 5pm the same evening.

Oh and i have proved everyone wrong - all the way through my pregnancy i have been told i'd most likely end up with an assisted delivery if not a c-section coz im overweight and wont have enough muscle to push. Lets just say when i saw my midwife yest, she didnt dare mention anything regarding my PERFECT un-assisted, problem free birth and my resulting extremely healthy baby who got 3 apgar scores of 9!

I have to admit - this baby thing is harder than i expected! I'm sure all mums say that but she is the most beautiful thing in the world and i cant believe she is finally here!

This is the first time i've managed to get online since she was born, she is currently asleep in my left arm.

Sorry to hear some of you are still overdue i hope your little ones get going soon - just hope your latent phase isnt 3.5 days like mine - that was a bitch!

kayzisexpecting · 02/12/2008 10:03

Congratulations Babylove!!!!!!!

What a beautiful name and a great story.

I thought it was happening last night but it all stopped again. I don't think he'll ever come out.

Hey Kay,

Thank you!

It is a demoralising feeling isnt it? Is this your first?

kayzisexpecting · 02/12/2008 10:12

No its my second. He was 2 days late and I am just hoping this one doesn't copy his brother.

Awwww, i feel for you, it is horrible. Everyone will tell u that he/she will be here soon etc and u just wanna lamp them one! The only thing i suggest is actually keeping yourself busy. I got so sick of timing contractions etc, you'll know your labour is well established when ur screaming in pain and thrashing around the room like me - then you know its all going to be over soon!

kayzisexpecting · 02/12/2008 10:27

I am getting sick of people asking me when he is coming. If I knew that then life would be easier.

Kelly7 · 02/12/2008 11:53

ditto! Friends keep ringing the house - "any day now! ... you will text me when you go int labour wont you!?" Yeah coz that will be my first priority!!!

Jenski · 02/12/2008 16:11

Congratulations Babylove. Fantastic news

babylove123 · 02/12/2008 18:20

Yep - it doesnt get any better once you've given birth either - they ring saying "why didnt you tell me - um, coz its been less than 24 since i've given birth and currently the only thing on my mind is the fact that i feel like i've shot a hippo out of there!"

Thanks Jenski

HI all

DD born on tuesday 2nd december at 1.42am. weighed 8lb 1oz (the smallest of the three, so it's a myth they get bigger - thanks god cos ds2 was 10lb )

Went in at 11pm - ish when contractions were about 2 mins apart, lasting about 1 minute each.
Got in the pool. I was really against having my waters broken (had ARM both times previusly), so i hung on in there and they literally broke and then i delivered her within 10 minutes of them breaking.
Just had gas and air and no stitches (had episiotomy twice previusly), so I am so pleased I stuck to my guns and got the birth I wanted this time.

Thanks everyone for your support over the last couple of weeks X

kayzisexpecting · 03/12/2008 20:28
