I'm 36 weeks and so bloody fed up now. Fed up of not being able to get comfortable, needing the toilet every 30 minutes and most of all people asking me how long to go, "ooh haven't you popped yet?", "It could be another 6 weeks yet if you go over". ARGH!!!!!

So I thought I'd start a thread for all us pregnant ladies who are fed up of waiting. I know there was one a few weeks ago but I couldn't find it.

Thanks Kay, I may have to go to the shops...

JennysMummy · 21/11/2008 11:08

39+5 today.. still pregnant & still sick of it!!

All my signs of impending labour have disappeared.. I only had one BH last night & usually I have a lot more, so that was strange. It really doesn't feel like today could be the day, so I'm not getting my hopes up at all.

babylove123 · 21/11/2008 11:22

Hi my fellow whingers!

Mabel - you made me chuckle at the larger norked lady! Mothercare measured me and said "you'll be needing 44F" - i was like "WHAT?!" Seriously, i am trusting that when you buy these bra's they give you a free crane hire to help you carry them round?! DP and i were talking about reflexology last night, if im not in labour by mon then i think i'll ring our local place and ask if they think it could help. Its expensive but hey - if it gets her out!

Kay - i've gone past the "i'll be polite" to the "please stop damn asking - tell you wot, i'll phone you day or night to let you know when i'm in labour, then you wont have to keep asking me!"

Hi Whitey - you can join in by all means, at 22 weeks i was already fed up. At 40 (yes the big 40 today!), i'm beyond help. I'm sorry, it doesnt get much better - it does indeed get worse. The pain gets worse, the sleeplessness gets worse, the bladder control dies.......sorry - hope you're not too depressed yet

Snorris - i had the same thing, mid 36/early 37 i seriously thought the time had come. Such strong contractions, were up to 15 mins apart, then i'd go to bed, wake up each morning and repeat the process. Still pregnant . Infact my midwife said to me at 37 "oooh, we should have a baby in a couple of days" - shall be decking her at my next apt!

Wine - welcome to the whingers My DP doesnt get it either - the best thing to make them realise how bad it is is to cry - they hate it. I can complain, whinge etc and DP will just ignore me to tell me to stop waffling on but as soon as the tears start - hes all "oh im sorry you're feeling like this, can i get you anything, you need a hug?" Works!

Havent got up the town yet, have come on here to whinge (obviously) and also try to relax myself. The big 40 day is here and i cant believe i have reached my due date and im still pregnant. Officially my hospital due date isnt till Mon so in their eyes im still 39 but date and size wise, baby is due today! Grrrrr! I havent made it up to town yet because of course, everything decided to go wrong this morning. As if my baking disaster wasnt bad enough yest, this morning my washing machine broke down. I've rung the repair ppl and sobbed saying my baby is due etc and they're getting someone here mon morn (not bad i spose). Luckily my mum will be on hand to do any washing this weekend if nec. I cant believe it though - what else can go wrong?.....

DONT ANSWER THAT!

babylove123 · 21/11/2008 11:28

By the way my fellow annoyed people, i googled tips to induce labour.

Now the information below is not for the faint hearted!

Now we all know the "sex can trigger labour" due to the prostaglandins.....well i read that it is better to actually "absorb through the stomach" iykwim..........i'm not saying anymore, depends on how desperate you are to get the baby out

kayzisexpecting · 21/11/2008 11:37

I have heard that before Baby. Don't know if I fancy trying that one though.

JennysMummy · 21/11/2008 11:43

Happy Due Date Babylove!

I've heard that prostaglandins are better absorbed through the stomach too.. I reckon it was an idea invented by a man because if it was more effective then surely hospitals would induce with something taken orally rather than using cervical gel? I don't know.. but I'll just stick to taking EPO instead, that's supposed to have lots of prostaglandins in it!

babylove123 · 21/11/2008 11:52

Well actually i've been watching all the baby programmes on sky and Portland babies follows women who go privately and have their babies at portland hosp london. They dont use the cervical gel, they use a tablet that disolves under the tounge. Lets just say you hear more woman going into labour from that little tablet than u do on the NHS ones who sometimes have to re-apply later on..........

Am i freaky for finding the absorbing option a little less creepy than the usual one? I've banned DP from the usual way as i cant bring myself to do it - im very aware she is there inside of me. The other seems more "normal".........not that either take my fancy!

AllieBongo · 21/11/2008 11:54

the midwife gave me castor oil with No 1. I had the worst diaorrhea in the world, but it worked! They don't really recommend it but I was overdue and so constipated!

JennysMummy · 21/11/2008 12:02

Oh right, I've never heard of that tablet thing! They used cervical gel on me with DD1 & it did the trick. I don't think any "natural" methods are going to get this baby out TBH.. I've tried most things already. I was even considering taking castor oil the other day, but I decided against it.. I can't be bothered spending all that time on the loo!

babylove123 · 21/11/2008 12:04

You can get clary sage on Ebay but i just have this horrible worry about what might actually be in it - hence y i am going to go to the local health shop.

Go get yourself some radox muscle soak bath - try that one!

mabel1973 · 21/11/2008 12:07

I Also heard about the prostaglandins being taken 'orally'....i assumed it was a joke put about by men
however, like you Babylove, having spent far too much time googling ways of making labour start...I have read that in some countries they do use oral methods of induction as apposed to sticking it where the sun doesn't shine!

Welcome to all the new whingers! Feel free to vent your spleen!

had a very stressful morning, DS2 is driving me mad...he is so destructive! I won't bore you will the details, but if it can be broken, he will break it.
Plus I have had the plumber round about our extention who has totally flummoxed me with jargon.
And also realised earlier this week that the builders have started building the foundations round our outhouse (that houses my tumble dryer), so I can no longer open the door, until someone kindly takes it off it's hinges, so not only can i not use the tumble dryer, but I now have a suspicion that there's a load of washing in there, probably going mouldy! Great!

kayzisexpecting · 21/11/2008 12:12

Here something to cheer you all up but it probably wont bring any babies.

I was just rearranging my tender, aching boobs when I realised there is a man on the roof of the old people flats opposite us. When I looked at him he was getting on with whatever he is doing to their tv aerial.

BUT what if he saw me?????

OP posts:
babylove123 · 21/11/2008 14:54

Mabel - sounds like your day is as bad as mine! Not only did the washing machine breaking down make me cry - i went up the town, got out to my car and have found someone as keyed it in 3 places. WTF?! WHY?! I just stood there and could have hit something - i cant believe everything is going wrong at the moment. Who thought it'd be fun to do this to my car?

I've had enough, i really have, just feel like curling up in a ball and blocking it all out.

Also, the health shop didnt sell clary sage, boots did next door - £8.50! No way! Going to go on my vitamin website and see if they do it!

Kay - hehe, sounds like you made his day!

babylove123 · 21/11/2008 15:19

Just ordered myself some clary sage from homeherbs.co.uk - looked like a good site.

Cost £3.85 - lets hope it is quick del!

kayzisexpecting · 21/11/2008 15:22

Oh I might order some from there.

I don't mind making his day. He didn't fall off his ladder so its all ok. I would have died if I had made him fall off.

OP posts:
snorris · 21/11/2008 15:50

Well,I had a wander round Tesco to get some bits for tea and they do a clary sage bubble bath for 79p. Probably not very potent but it's very relaxing all the same! I managed to have a doze too before picking the dc's up so I'm feeling slightly revitalised.

Jenski · 21/11/2008 16:03

Mad4mybaby is very quiet - do you think she is having a baby???

mabel1973 · 21/11/2008 17:38

Babylove - You just can't understand what get's in to people who do things like that! Makes me so angry!

Kayz - similar thing happened to me when I about 8 months pg with DS2, I got out of the shower, totally naked, walked into the bedroom, so find DS1 had pulled back the bedroom curtains and there was the window cleaner....he really did get an eyeful...i was so embarassed! The thing is he still knocked on the door expecting me to come down and pay him...obviously I just ignored it..I couldn't face him again and was relived when he decided to emigrate to australia!!!!

Well I have had my reflexology...it was lovely, really relaxing, but when she did certain pressure points I could feel everything tightening and have been getting tightenings since I got home, so fingers crossed they might become stronger contractions.
The reflexologist seemed to think I was more ready this time...I can only hope!

kayzisexpecting · 21/11/2008 18:34

Oooh Jenski, you could be right about Mad4. She could be in labour this very second!!!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Mabel!!

OP posts:
Whiteybaby · 21/11/2008 19:08

Babylove you made me laugh for the first time today.. More pain, less sleep and no bladder control sounds like a real joy! So sorry to hear about yr car its really not fair. Good luck to those waiting to pop. Hope the weekend brings news. You won't believe but I had my experience of 'ooh not long then' today when I said baby due March??? Wtf? No sure, just another 18 weeks!!!

kayzisexpecting · 21/11/2008 19:19

I've just had 2 painful BH's or 2 weak contractions. I'm not getting to excitied. I'm going to go have a bath and see what happens from there.

OP posts:
babylove123 · 21/11/2008 22:22

Kay - hope the contractions keep going! I've had one tonight - woohoo, thats more than yesterday!

Snorris - hope you enjoyed your bath. I cant use bath products but am thinking of using the radox as a shower gel....... maybe i'll just go and sniff the bottle instead

Mabel - oooh good luck on the reflexology. I'm def gonna ring up mon and see if they can help if i havent gone into labour. As for the eyeful - i had the same. I got out of the shower and went up to my bedroom to change, dropped the towel and there was the window cleaner doing my window! Whoops! He was old and died not long after this incident - i trust i had nothing to do with it!

Whitey - oh yeh, it only gets better! You wait, you'll soon not be able to even put your own socks on - that takes me 5 mins in the morn to shuffle my ass on the edge of the bed to be able to pull my trouser leg to lift my leg up and quickly slip it on! Pregnancy is just the most dignified thing in the world! They dont tell you all the shite bits in these damn books that you buy!!!

Have taken my frustration out on everyone tonight including the cat! He keeps whinging for me to play with him and i told him where to go! Hes now sulking! Poor bugger doesnt understand i know but i wish he came with a mute button sometimes!!!

kayzisexpecting · 22/11/2008 09:11

Morning,

Everything stopped. I think he is just winding me up by giving me the odd contraction.

Whitey, Baby forgot to mention that not only will you not be able to put your socks on, you won't be able to see your feet. Also you won't be able to shave your legs, I have to get DH to do it!!!

OP posts:
mabel1973 · 22/11/2008 15:20

Kayz - same here. weak contractions all evening and this morning as well, but now it has eased off ...oh well I have my sweep to look forward to tommorrow

Babylove - shouldn't laugh about your window cleaner but..... !!!!

Dh tried to ring his parents this afternoon about something random, but bearing in mind they are 'supposed' to having the ds's when i go to hospital, so any time now...no answer on the home phone, not answer on either of their mobiles, he left a rather stroppy message, Which will go down particularly well with my MIL who is not the easiest of people.
Luckily unknown to them I have my parents on standby anyway, but that's not the point!

mad4mybaby · 22/11/2008 16:34

hey ladies! I had my ds2 thurdsay at 3.30am after 1 1/2 hours so kinda quick. Got my waterbirth which was lovely. No stitches this time!!! Made up with that. I was in such a foul mood wed night so i had a hot bath with clary sage, put clary sage all over bump, then put aload on a pillow and breathed it in and out and then my waters broke! Not sure if it was a conincidence......

so sorry for those of you still waiting, your time WILL come.
