I'm 36 weeks and so bloody fed up now. Fed up of not being able to get comfortable, needing the toilet every 30 minutes and most of all people asking me how long to go, "ooh haven't you popped yet?", "It could be another 6 weeks yet if you go over". ARGH!!!!!

So I thought I'd start a thread for all us pregnant ladies who are fed up of waiting. I know there was one a few weeks ago but I couldn't find it.

Anna - Go you! I hope it is all starting for you! If you come back on 2morro saying you've had your baby then i think all of us will be calling our DH's & DP's home from work to try it too!

Mabel - she seriously went for it - there was no sweeping, a pnuematic drill would have been less painful! The bleeding has stopped but she must have really had a good fish around! The fact that my cervix was closed but she could feel the babys head must show how much she was ramming! When are you due?

Kay - you have a problem with the ass too do you? The student midwife felt my tummy today and said "she has a nice round bottom" - i said "you mean she has a fat ass like her mum!" That ass is gonna be huge - i can tell!

Well as i say, the bleeding has stopped, phew. Had a few twinges today but nothing much. Am getting a bit annoyed as im starting to feel more ill with this cold now, can feel it travelling up towards my sinus'. I'm also really prone to chest infections - the last thing i need when in labour! Keeping an eye on it and will be straight to docs for antibiotics if it starts crackling!

Have had a clary sage bump massage thanks to DP this evening - thing is, how often do you do it? Dont wanna overdose!

mabel1973 · 26/11/2008 19:14

hi still here.

Babylove - i was due on sunday.
Had another sweep today and she said there was not much change to my cervix from sunday . it was soft but still long. it didn't sound too promising.
I have another sweep booked for tuesday then my induction will be a week on fri when i am 12 days over...if it comes to that.
I was 10 days over with DS1 and 7 days over with DS2, haven't had to be induced before, so i am hoping it won't come to that...

kayzisexpecting · 26/11/2008 20:55

Sorry the sweeps haven't worked Mabel.

Apparently putting evening primrose oil on your cervix can help. I saw it on a website. If you put a capsule up there when you go to bed, by morning you should be in labour.

everyone trying to get started!!!! have an orgasm, it worked both times for me! with 24 hours!! worked for afew friends of mine too. obviously only works if your body and bubba is ready but if you are near or overdue date you should be ready. i know it's the last thing u feel like doing but it's worth a try!! go on ladies have an early night

kayzisexpecting · 27/11/2008 04:57

I was tempted last night but couldn't stay awake.

Now I am up at stupid o'clock because I have really bad backache and I can't get comfy or anything. Maybe I should go and wake DH

I wonder if Annabelle has had her baby yet.

OP posts:
mummy2t · 27/11/2008 08:48

backache could be the start, alot of people labour in their backs. did u wake DH??
hope annabelle is ok

kayzisexpecting · 27/11/2008 09:02

No I didn't. I fell asleep on the sofa. I will get lots of rest today(hopefully) so I can jump on him tonight.

mabel1973 · 27/11/2008 10:27

Kayz - I was trying evening primrose oil, up until last week, but then i got fed up with doing it, although i might start trying again.

I have had a bit of a show this morning.
I am telling you my ligaments at the top of my legs and lower back are killing me, they can't soften any more, or i will officially become jelly!
Nothing from babylove since tues.....
or annebelle...wishing them good vibes!
when are you due Kayz?

kayzisexpecting · 27/11/2008 12:38

Not until the 12th Dec. Just so fed up now.

mabel1973 · 27/11/2008 14:25

let me tell you those last 3 or 4 weeks might as well be 3 or 4 years.....

rebekahbird · 27/11/2008 16:15

eight days waiting to go for first child, and i'm really really fed up with waiting now!we haven't had sex the whole pregnancy so my darling husband is hoping that's on the cards!

Jenski · 27/11/2008 16:30

Hello waiting ladies,

Mabel - It doesn't sound like you have long to wait.

I am 39 weeks today. I had a midwife appt on Tuesday and she offered me a sweep . So after initially saying no, I agreed to it!!!!! Well, it didn't hurt (but didn't work either - so maybe a no pain no gain scenario!) She told me that I am 2 cms dilated and my cervix is soft but still a bit long (whatever that means!) She gave me a Bishop score of 6 (i think it is out of 10 but doesn't mean much to me!) She predicted Saturday for me (I am wondering now if I actually saw a midwife or mystic meg!)

I have decided to forget all about having a baby (in the hope that this will bring it on!)

Good luck everyone else too! I will be checking for those babies ....

kayzisexpecting · 27/11/2008 16:47

Jenski, I thought that too. If I stop thinking about it maybe he'll come sooner.

OP posts:
mabel1973 · 27/11/2008 20:14

Jenski - LOL at mystic Meg!!!
I am 4 days overdue now. I went 7 days over with DS2, so was expecting this one to be earlier, but am starting to wonder.
It is DS1's birthday on monday...I am really hoping it doesn't happen on his birthday, I will feel so guilty..

mabel1973 · 29/11/2008 14:04

Please tell me it's not just me that's still pregnant?????
6 days overdue now...

Kelly7 · 29/11/2008 19:16

Hello ladies, this is my first post - so glad to find this thread - im 37 weeks + 4 days and im starting to get fidgety now! Ive been on maternity leave since 34 weeks (had loads of annual leave i had to take) and im soooo bored.

I have everything we need for the baby - and im thinking of starting a hobby of some sort to see me through the next 2 weeks!

Jenski - I really hope my midwife offers me a sweep at 39 weeks - i didnt know they did that. I really dont want to go overdue coz my mom did with me by 2 weeks and she got horrendous stretch marks - so far so good for me!

kayzisexpecting · 29/11/2008 20:59

Nope Mabel, I'm still here too.

I have done loads of walking today, now feelin awful, but maybe it will help.

Hi Kelly, the weeks spent on maternity leave while waiting are probably the worst of the whole pregnancy.

OP posts:
Kelly7 · 29/11/2008 22:22

Hi Kayzisexpecting - its the worst isnt it!? I presume your now overdue - hope your feeling ok - how far over are you?

kayzisexpecting · 30/11/2008 07:50

Still got 12 days until he is due. Just really fed up of waiting now. I was hoping all the walking I did yesterday would help but nothing yet.

OP posts:
Kelly7 · 30/11/2008 09:46

Morning Kayzis expecting - im taking a leaf out of your book and going for a walk this morning - wish me luck!

kayzisexpecting · 30/11/2008 10:33

Good luck. Even if it just gets the baby's head engaged its good.

I've just had some raspberry leaf tea, apparently you need to drink 5 cups in 1 day to get labour to start but I think it's horrible so I won't be drinking that much.

OP posts:
Jenski · 30/11/2008 11:16

hello there,

Kay - good luck with the raspberry leaf tea. I haven't drunk any this time! Maybe that is where I am going wrong.

I thought it was all happening yesterday evening - quite regular contractions from about 4 until 10pm (but uncomfortable more than painful) and then nothing

They started up again this morning and then stopped - so I have given up and trying once again to forget all about it!

Kelly7 - yes I was surprised to be offered a sweep at 39 weeks (not that it worked!) but it is my third. Is this your first? I don't think it would be offered with a first baby but I might be wrong! Good luck with the walking, I think it really helps get the baby into position.

Mabel73 - I hope things are progressing.

I am hoping that I just have a very high pain threshold and that I am actually dilating all the time - yeah right

mabel1973 · 30/11/2008 12:40

hi!

still here! a week overdue now
I did spend the morning at the hospital though!
Ds1 and DS2 ran headlong into each other this morning and whilst DS1 had a few tears but was ok, DS2 had the most enormous egg on his forehead, which was so large i actually felt sick looking at it, so we had to take him up to A&E just to be on the safe side. They said he's fine, he may get a black eye, but other than that he is ok. I really didn't expect to be turning up at the hospital in those circumstances though.

I am still getting contractions most evenings, but I am not even taking any notice now, until they are unbearable and 5 minutes apart, it's not worth me getting excited!

I have noticed in the past few days that the top of my bump is really sore and actually hurts to touch, particularly on the right hand side. I can't work out if it's the skin just stretched, that's sore, or if it's my actual bump.

Kelly7 · 30/11/2008 14:03

hi guys, how nice it is to hear from mums who are about to drop - you start to feel like your the only person in the world expecting a baby!

I just got in from my morning out - i walked round the big car boot sale near us - was miserable to say the least with the drizzly rain - and then i popped over to see the husband at work whilst popping some washing into the launderette - then i went into town! I know - dont know where this idea came from - but ended up grabbing some great baby bargains i had been after for a while - now im home and i feel no different apart from backache (which i norally get after a walk) boo! But hey at least it made my day pass quicker! Just another 14 to go!

kayzisexpecting · 01/12/2008 08:33

I thought it was happening last night. I was having BH's that started to get painful and more regular. But it all stopped at 4 and I managed to get some sleep.

How annoying???
