We've now filled up the last thread - and the two before that! Seems that there are a lot of us old girls out there getting ourselves into trouble

So - if you've just found yourself to be with child or have a LO and you've hit (or about to hit - we'll let you sneak in just under the radar!)the big 4 0, then come say Hi!

There is always a spare comfy chair - plenty of cake and many old ladies to listen to your moans! Think of the lovely ladies knitting shreddies - only we're not sporting a blue rinse, but wearing cashmere and kitten heels

Hello regular ladies. I avoided putting FAT, F*cked or Knackered in the title - tempting as it was

PortofinoPumpkin · 28/10/2008 22:47

Oooh don't say that - I thought I was safe to drink copious amounts of wine!

jeanjeannie · 29/10/2008 08:51

Morning all.
SNOW! SNOW! SNOW ALERT !!!!
It's all over the place! According to the news it's not snowed in South East in October since 1974. Ah - 74, what a year....think I got my Chopper bike then..!!

Well, apart from her usual thinking it wasn't Verity but Iris who kicked off. She actually had her first bout of hysteria... Never seen it before - but boy, it was bonkers!

portofino MMmmm, you may need to re-test, as floria says you may have caught later....especially if you've not been keeping a diary.....naughty girl

jw you are not alone in being a crank m'dear. Hope you finished your sewing...I didn't! My eyes were out on stalks like a cartoon.

Its snowing here Bloody freezing I'd say. Got up at 6am for first feed and the house was like a fridge so put heating on. Even in her grobag K's hands were like little blocks of ice Think I'm going to leave heating on low all night when weather is like this.

Read last night that Katona person has sacked Max Clifford as her mouthpiece. Fark. I think the husband is well and truly in the driving seat now...expect car crash telly all the way (runs off to grab a front row seat) Also on DM website is the 'must read' £100k wedding of the gypsy chav person. Bored with the Brand/Ross episode. Not condoning phoning an old man and laughing at his expense but getting the PM involved...Purlease! Nothing better to do Gord??? And to look at the creature......she's like some S&M queen!! haha.

Anyway, jabs day today and spoke to my MW who is now back off hols. She's coming later than normal today due to teeth trauma so hoping that K is weighed and then no need this afternoon for another strip n weigh at the jabs clinic. I'm gonna guestimate the weight of the baby at...drum roll.........11lb 9oz (conservative).

johnworf · 29/10/2008 09:31

Oh btw jj did finish the sewing and DSS has gone off on his cubs soiree covered in badges! The last few look like a blind man has done them but hey ho they're on the jumper! If you're sewing things for LO's you need to invest in a sewing machine. I would have used mine last night but my SiL has borrowed it and not yet returned it Shall have to rectify methinks. Seriously, a machine saves a lot of work. Or, you have one and couldn't be arsed threading it up!

johnworf · 29/10/2008 09:34

Oh, and while I'm at it...Jo Whiley. What were you thinking naming your baby after a body shop shower gel?

Coco Lux my arse!

Tee2072 · 29/10/2008 10:01

Morning, Ladies!

Had another bad night. So I am very very tired.

Little worried, cuz most of my PG symptoms seem to have disappeared! Except for the fact that my trousers are a bit too tight! No sickness, boobs don't even really hurt any more...should I be worried? Maybe I should go pee on that extra stick I have...

jeanjeannie · 29/10/2008 10:05

JJ I am the latter. Couldn't be a*sed to thread up the machine - plus it's soooo heavy I couldn't be bothered to struggle downstairs with it!

Coco Lux.....MMmMmmmm. Now, I'm all for a nice name - bit unusual and all that BUT...why, oh why, oh why do people in the media do it to their kids? They are assuming that their Los are going to be like them - that they won't want to be taken seriously. Poor Little Coco Lux may want to be a great scientist or lawyer. It's almost a self fullfilling prophecy....that they are going to act like their name suggests.....see the Geldof clan for evidence!!!

I want to play Guess the Weight of the Baby I reckon....11 lb 14oz

That husband of The Katona seems like a right pimp Wonder what Iceland thinks about it all?.....that's the el cheapo supermarket, not the flat-broke chilly country.

mornin 'all

It's ffffrreeeezzing here too. No snow though.

DM website: That niece of Andrew Sachs looks like Rosie Webster offa Coronation Street. Oh and coco lux? like you say jeanjeanie - why doesn't it occur to them that their children might be disadvantaged by these ludicrous names - just look at the silly geldof girls

and as for the traveller wedding the dress looks like it came from Ann Summers. tarmac laying must be a very lucrative business

lilibet · 29/10/2008 11:33

Well, I told him!

He was quite shocked but very pleased, and as I had to do it in a whisper with my back holding the kitchen door shut so that we wouldn't be interupted it wasn't the most romantic of declarations!

I'm off to London on a course tomorrow (that's another thing - recently told my boss I was interested in promotion and going full time!) so will get to the drs next week and arrange a dating scan.

My mind is now jumping all over the place and I'm getting up in the night to wee - that must be psychosomatic (sp?).

Hedgepig - I'm here!!! I put a late message on your birth announcement before I had this bit of news

Goldenpig - hello, can't help you but I'm sure some of the tohers can - I have had three vaginal births

Tee2072 when are you due? It's a worry knowing what to do with the information when you get it.

Johnworf I've looked at your profile, I'm glad K is doing ok. How did your older ones take the news of a new baby?

with the Ross/Brand debacle, I heard teh granddaughter on the news today after she had been interviwed by The Sun asking that no more publicity be given to the situation.

Tee2072 · 29/10/2008 11:40

lilibet I'm due 26th June. I have my first antenatal appointment next Tuesday. I get to go a few weeks earlier than most because I have diabetes and will be on a very strict regiment!

I am feeling very odd today. Tired but also kinda woozy. Not really faint, just not really all here.

And I just called the Fertility Clinic and told them to take me off their lists! That was very fun!

mrsboogie · 29/10/2008 11:40

well now they have both (ross and brand) been suspended

lilibet · 29/10/2008 12:13

Had to happen really - re the suspension.

I think if you go ont heir show's you have to be prepared but this was deffo OTT

lilibet · 29/10/2008 12:25

Just been reading teh timeline on bbc - the recording was played to Andrew Sachs before it was broadcast !!!

jeanjeannie · 29/10/2008 12:25

lilibet See - I told you he'd be pleased....shocked but pleased none-the-less!

Tee I bet that was a lovely phone call to make! Woozy and tired sound VERY normal. I remember that both times the first 12 weeks were the worst....absolutely knackered by 3pm....rolling eyes, spinning head - just like someone had woken you up in the dead of the night.

OK. Mr Ross....I just don't get him I can appreciate he's quick and topical but I just don't laugh. He's not got smart, intelligent humour.....(not radio 4 dahling!) It's like schoolboy jokes for lads. And Russell Brand............WHAH...all that hair and those breasts he shows off in his low-cut T-shirts...................UGH! NO. WRONG! Did like that ad he did for Radio 2 though - where he plays the ornemental lute in the hotel foyer to the REM tune. Now that was funny!

Can I be bovered to go to the shops with the girls later on? I could buy CAKE there I suppose...there is a lovely M&S....MMmmmmmmmmmmmmm C.A.K.E CAKE

lilibet · 29/10/2008 12:30

Ok...MW has been and gone. 2.5 hours we were chatting! But we always have a natter and chew the fat about nothing in particular. Anyway, the news: K is 9lb 12oz. I was waaay off mark. She's following her 25th centile line perfectly as is her head circumference. We've dropped her down a notch on her O2 so she's now on 0.03...a whiff!

lilibet my (older) children are now of the age where they do their own thing...so mum having another baby doesn't impact on their lives at all. The oldest two live with their partners and the youngest lives with his dad ...and he's off to uni next year anyway. They love her to bits, think their mum is mad (no change) but don't turn up everyday to see her as they are at the centre of their own universe at the mo.

We have DSS who is 8 and lives with us full time and he's made up with his leedle sis It's actually easier this time around - 4 kids under 25! haha.

I'm off to buy some cake. My resolve has crumbled. It's freezing and I NEED sustinence.

Off to hospital very soon for K's jab. MW informed me lot of babies (esp prem) getting RSV Hope we're the lucky ones who don't what with the jab and all.

mrsboogie · 29/10/2008 16:32

blimey jw you are a sociable one - I usually can't wait to get them out the door! Hope the jabs went ok.

'ere - re Ross/Brand kerfuffle - I didn't realise that the silly girl has actually slept with Brand - Gawd he doesn't half get about him

OH is bringing me cake this evening - rhubarb and ginger from Marks yummmyyyy

jeanjeannie · 29/10/2008 16:32

JW that's fab - following the 25th centile. That's way better than Iris managed....go on girl And now just a mere whiff of O2............sounds like one of your perfumes!!!!

Hope jab went ok. What's RSV?

Didn't go into town...so no CAKE Spent afternoon stacking boxes, counting and putting shapes into the box. It's all go here....it's a wonder I can keep up with the pace........
BTW, those activities were for Iris, not me, in case any of you wondered

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 29/10/2008 16:34

you come across as a brilliant mum jj you always seem to be doing fab activities with Iris - I loved the sound of the little bag you made for her to collect things when out and about

jeanjeannie · 29/10/2008 16:35

mrsB - that your OH brings you cake!

I know - I only just realised that he actually slept with her. God - what a twat. Imagine the horror of someone you randomly copped off with ringing your grandparents to tell them the news.......WHAH! He needs a slap. Thank goodness I never had famous grandparents with agents to hand out their phone number

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 29/10/2008 16:43

oh mortifying jj and then the whole thing getting blown out of proportion and even ending up on PM's Question time!! It was very very bad show for him to broadcast it like that - just as well she doesn't look the easily embarrassed type

lilibet · 29/10/2008 18:33

Really good news about your dd johnworf, hope she is ok after her jabs.

The people on here seem to have very nice names for their children, not seen onle that I don't really like.

And I noticed that someone has an Amby - I looked at these when we were 'trying', I'm a bit of a planner - I like to know exactly what I'm doing/getting. What are they like?

lilibet · 29/10/2008 18:33

How do we kow he slept with her?

goldenpig · 29/10/2008 18:41

John and I had lunch in a caff today so I had a quick scan of the papers in there, and the grand-daughter's tale was all over The Sun, or Mirror, she slept with him 'three times'.

As my boyfriend just said, watch out for her on Celeb Big Brother any time soon...
