Toomanysweeties - no-one's bothered calling me today (I think they are all too scared)! I'm kinda missing them now!

Hi all, glad to see I'm not the only one feeling fed up! 38 wks today, had check up, but GP didn't seem too bothered/interested about my disappointment at baby still not engaged... maybe it was the gp student she had there... even asked when's the earliest I can be induced (DS1 starting primary school 2 wks after EDD, so need to be ok before then!!!)!

Ds1 was 40+9 (went into labor day before booked induction), but had convinced myself this was going to be early as had lots to do to get house ready after stopping work, plus running after 4yo... and now that all is ready, I really can't take anymore!!! Spent 3 wks keeping busy with houseworks etc and researching reusable nappies, and now that they're all here washed and clothes, crib, car seat ready I am lost... can't even go outside cos it's horrible (where's the summer gone!?!?!)....

aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh, sorry, rant over, but no-one to talk to/can understand...

hopefully some of you had baby by now...

cyteen · 20/08/2008 17:21

Rant away sunflower, this is the place for it

Still no baby here. Mw says he is 4/5 engaged, which after some efforts to decode what she's written in my notes alongside all the really fecking unhelpful books that all seem to contradict each other, I take to mean that he's only 1/5 in and has most of the way still to go. He has been kind enough to spend all afternoon kicking hell out of me

Yawn, yawn, yawn.

MiniMarmite · 20/08/2008 18:21

Cyteen - I think 4 5th engaged is good news - means she can feel only 1 5th of his head. If she said 4 5ths palpable then that would mean he still had most of the way to go.

It's really confusing as they seem to write it differently each time!

Poor you marmite....just to add bloody insult to injury!! Had on/off periody pains last night, was praying for it to build up to something but alas it didnt!! Midwife today tried to be postive but I think my panda eyes and zits put her off. I'm such a joy. Think we should all get together and get really drunk...if only! Hope UTI clears up soon and lots of love to all the other sufferers. x

MiniMarmite · 20/08/2008 22:08

Thanks Bootus

Feeling much better now as just saw Get Smart - was v funny, thought I was going to laugh baby out.

Hope your period pains turn into something more productive soon .

Off to bed now. These blasted bh's / periody crampy pains keep coming but then going again. Probably should bother to time them a bit as seem to be getting closer together or certainly more of them (maybe that is just desperation setting in !!).
Don't want to tell DH about them just yet as he'll be sat there with a stop watch and be writing it all down .
Fingers crossed they develop for all of us !!
Mum coming over yet again tomorrow, can I face another day of her pandering over me and DD ?????? Know I sound ungrateful, but just when you want to be left alone to wallow in self pity about still being the size of a bus .........

Night girls, better news tomorrow I hope

sunflower78 · 21/08/2008 10:18

Morning ladies,

hope at least someone's had an eventful night, maybe toomanysweeties's cramps and minimarmite's laughs turned into something! Have been having BH since wk 16 (nothing with DS1!!), and had both bh and period like cramps for last couple of weeks, constantly for a few days, but seem to have stopped in the last couple of days ...

off for a gentle walk/waddle on the treadmill now (raining again, for a change...), hopefully little one will carry on her way down and engage...

cyteen · 21/08/2008 10:29

Morning all,

Had a crampy night last night, some clenching cramps across the top of the bump and a faint but persistent periody feeling in the lower part...nothing else to report though. I might go out for a walk later if I can be bothered to see if anything shakes loose

PetitFilou1 · 21/08/2008 10:35

Nothing happening here except bhs (sigh) due on Monday. dh has to take his paternity leave whether or not ds2 is here please please let him come out....

sunflower78 · 21/08/2008 11:01

petitfilou, hope baby comes by Monday then, keeping fingers crossed for you!!

DP can't have time off at the mo as everyone else in his office on hols. but the way I'm feeling, I'd rather have baby now anyway - with DS1 he was recovering from shingles, nearly missed the birth, so had to care for two "babies" after 32 hrs labor and uncountabe stitches (my parents live in other country, and his 6 hrs away, so couldn't really be here straight away), but managed somehow...

bootus · 21/08/2008 11:55

Keeping fingers crossed for you all as well, esp for Monday pfilou!!! And sunflower hope it all happens the minute he can take time off. No news from me....another friend went into labour last night, am last one now, never thought I'd be envious of that! Felt very tired and teary yestrday but better nights sleep last night so at least people can actually spk to me without being cried over/given one word answers!!! Think I need to go for walk/game of ping pong, anything to get this going......

PetitFilou1 · 21/08/2008 12:18

sunflower I've got two other dcs though, 3 and 4 1/2 (ds who is starting school). Of course I would manage - that doesn't mean I should have to though imo! (feeling sorry for self emoticon)

MrsTittleMouse · 21/08/2008 12:24

Fingers crossed that it all happens this weekend petitfilou.

MiniMarmite · 21/08/2008 12:42

Hi Ladies

Just thought I'd let you know that I'm still here too and thinking of you all.

Feeling ok today so antibiotics must be doing the trick. Just feel confused as to whether cramps are UTI or anything more exciting!

I'm having another reflexology session today. I always have the best sleep in reflexology (the reflexologist is kind enough not to comment on the snoring/dribbling that I suspect I do) so even if it doesn't bring labour on at least I'll have a good rest!

I'm enjoying the blissful unknown! Although I met with my antenatal group this morning (who have now all given birth) and they didn't hold back on the detail

sambrads · 22/08/2008 17:00

bootus · 22/08/2008 18:15

Hiya guys, still here too. Minimarmite...are you me. I'm the last of my group too, I've had 2 texts within last 24 hours informing me of new arrivals, of course I'm happy but v. too. Hope the sweep is ok...

MiniMarmite · 22/08/2008 22:11

Bootus...sending lots of labour vibes your way .

I might be about to graduate - waters just broke whilst we were at our neighbours house for dinner! Luckily I didn't have far to drip home.

No contractions yet but off to the hospital for a quick check up.

Love to you all and really hope those of you wanting your LOs to arrive this weekend start their labours soon. xxx

MrsTittleMouse · 22/08/2008 22:41

Good luck Marmite.

MiniMarmite · 22/08/2008 23:58

Thank you

Back from hosp now and having a few contractions. Didn't really have a concept of how much fluid there could be - seems never ending! Sorry, TMI perhaps!

Good night everyone...

OP posts:
bootus · 23/08/2008 11:49

Oooh. So excited for you...hope you got some sleep and babymarmite is nearly with us. Good luck and let us know... and hope evryone else is ok and still gritting their teeth!

MiniMarmite · 23/08/2008 14:08

Thanks Bootus

I'm still just about here. Had contractions a bit last night but tried to get a few hours sleep but then everything has stopped now. Hoping it starts again as otherwise I will have to be induced tomorrow morning at a different hospital than the one (low risk birthing centre) I had hoped.

Hope things start for you soon xxx
