greedy - with the ttc - just having fun trying at the moment, not getting too concerned about it. Currently ov-ing and making dh have loads of sex!!!!! ok that was too too much info!¬!

Chooster · 03/11/2008 13:36

Ah, good to have some activity on this thread!!! Great to hear from you Greedy and rainbow. So whats the other news around MN - any more pregnancies from the ttc-ers?

So, you're stopping at 3 Greeds? I can totally understand what you are saying about not wanting to add another baby into the pot. You can be restricted by the youngest one and even with just the 2, I still feel it, i.e needing to work around Theo's sleeps, and not being able to all go the movies etc... I think in some ways life will get a lot easier and more fun when Theo is a couple of years older. So, can totally get with what you are saying. Wonder how you will feel in a few months? What about you honeyapple - have you got any more thoughts on number 4? Good luck with the ttc rainbow - you are right, if you're going to have another soon would be great .

Great to hear that you had a good holiday Greeds - will definately check out the CP abroad. We'd have to find one where we could fly direct from EDI otherwise we'd have to add on costs to fly to London as well and that may make it too pricey, but will have a look. We're booked again for CP in April as this will be the last holiday before Max starts school in August and then we'll be a bit more restricted. Oh and that reminds me... me and DH have a free return BA club class ticket to use before the end of March . Not sure what we'll do with it yet but it wont go to waste .

Aw, Jak's crawling sounds so cute rainbowy... whats the situation with your work as well? Are you due to go back at some point? And if you become pregnant again will you just not go back? I remember you did a lot of travelling though??? Is that right?

Sorry to hear you are so sick Mrs... Its grim isn't it... My MS got worse with each pregnancy, not sure if it was just because I had less time to rest, but I was puking quite a lot with Theo .

Climbing was great thanks ladies!!! Really good fun. I was a little nervous about it but it was easier than I thought. I took DH later in the week as well and he loved it adn then I took Max at the weekend. He was so good and got 3/4 of the way up a really high wall before he got a bit anxious. He loved being lowered down though . I'll definately be taking him back again as I think it will be good for him as well.

Right, better get back to work, but good to hear from you!

Mrs, how have your parents reacted to B2???

iamamummy · 03/11/2008 16:53

afternoon ladies

greedy glad you had a nice holiday, we are thinking south of france for next summer and taking the great grandparents with us. im glad you feel complete at 3 children and both you and hubby are happy with the decision.

chooster glad the climbing went well! how are things at work? has theo settled into nursery now? i have been looking at our local nurseries as i am looking to return back to work part time before xmas (job hunting permitting) but luckily ds grandparents have said they would rather have him which is such a relief.

rainbow - good luck for ttc n.4 enjoy your bonking sessions whilst oving!! we are still ttc but not counting days etc just what happens happens.

mrs sorry to hear about the sickness hopefully not too much more to go now...

all is well here, i handed my notice in at work as apparently they cannot cater for me anymore and could only offer me my previous job which is totally unsuitable. so i am now looking for something to do part time that suits family life.

hope everyone else is well. did everyone enjoy the snow last week??

hiya

greedy- think that you have made a good decision about sticking with 3- pretty sure I am too- although I wouldn't want DP to get the snip (that is a bit TOO final!). I was looking at pics of Dex when he was just born and it made me a bit sad cos that tiny baby has gone now - I can see how some women get addicted to having babies! But I think I need to move on really. Dex is 1 tommorrow! He hasnt been very well though- turns out he has an ear infection and doc has given him antibiotics- hoping he will cheer up for his birthday. Have ordered him a cake from waitrose- havent the energy or inclination to bake one at the moment (he is so clingy and moany with this sore ear). He is waking up... better go

x

Chooster · 04/11/2008 12:46

Poor Dex - hope he's feeling a lot better in time for his birthday - poor lamb... Theo was poorly on his and I felt so sorry for him. I also SO know what you mean about seeing your baby grow up. I also get a little nostalgic when I see one of my friends with a new baby or when they're pregnant - its all such an exciting time. .

rainbowdays · 05/11/2008 21:38

Happy Birthday Dex! Hope you feel better today.

fettle · 05/11/2008 22:04

Happy Birthday Dex!

Still got problems with this thread! No others - just can't seem to write anything on it easily. computer just takes forever!

love you all though!!

happy birthday for yesterday dexy boy! hope you had a good one! glad to hear you might stick at 3 as well honey! wont be too jealous then. i know when rainbow gets pg i will be very jealous, not that i enjoy being pg, just jealous of the excitement o it all................but like you say, you have to stop at some point dont you.

marcy is actually back to being super cute at the moment! sure it wont last, but i will enjoy it while it does. her sleeping is still erratic though!..............whatever happened to my fantastic sleeper hey?!!

chooster - never dawned on me that little ones could go climbing! i might look into it for ellis. not that he is very atheletic, but he would probably enjoy it!

marcy has started taking a couple of steps between furniture which is a big achievemnet for her...............she might even be walking by xmas at this rate!!

ok, better go and see some patients.............super busy at the moment!

bye all!

rainbowdays · 07/11/2008 20:53

thought I better post to bump up this thread as we seem to keep slipping down the list.

greeedy - I won't say a word....

MrsMcJnr · 07/11/2008 21:25

Hey ladies here to catch up! How are you all? I?m feeling shattered after a day of shopping in Gibraltar with my Mum and Xavier. I bought Xavier his stage 2 car seat from Mothercare there too (what a weight!) so I am really pleased as I feel he is getting a bit big for the stage 1 seat am still pretty sick every day (all day- yawn!) but I am either getting used to it or it is getting a bit better

So? my parents reaction to our news ?.silence, followed by my mother saying ?maybe it is just as well as Xavier is getting very spoilt? nothing from Dad. Luckily DH?s folks were there too and over the moon, FIL started crying, it was so sweet. Since then my mother has ignored the fact and my father summoned me for lunch on Weds (not a good day anyway, Xavier has a cold and was up 6 times Tues night so I was feeling even sicker than usual on weds). My Dad proceeded to lecture me on the following over lunch: 1) I have to get a job, ?the holiday? is over and I should get out of my ?ivory tower? put Xavier in an ?institution where he belongs? and stop wasting my education 2) I?m putting everyone out by not driving here (eh, no car!!)) and must be doing so twice a week by the end of the month when he wants to ?meet? me again. I?m fuming with him, how dare he surely you give your kids an education so they have choices?! All through my 20s he banged on and on about having a career before a family and now at 35 I?m not allowed a family life either because it?s a waste of my career ? grgrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Rant over!

Greedy the shoulder is fine now but I wish you were closer too as I?d love to have a coffee (well about 50!) and a chat face to face how are things with you? I am not surprised that looking after 3 kids can get on top of you, I think you are amazing I am having a really self confidence dip at the mo, I don?t seem to get much done in the day and I used to be so organised I just don?t know how you manage to get everything done. Ellis sounds like such a lovely little boy the holiday sounded good. Interesting to hear your thoughts on 4 kids, we are still hoping for 4 but we?ll take it one at a time and see where we get too!

Hey Chooster DH is settling in better thanks he?s met a few people through the football but gets on quite well with some of the fathers of Xavier?s mates so that?s great LOL at Theo going round in circles but it also shocked me too, is he really the same tiny baby I held in my arms not so long ago?? It goes too fast doesn?t it? that?s fab about Max and the veg the baptism was great thanks, Xavier was an angel! I?ll put some pics on my profile sounds like an idyllic scene with your boys and the fire! Where was your climbing lesson? Was it at Ratho or Leith? Ohh that BA club ticket sounds like a recipe for fun! Any ideas??

Honey ? how was DS1?s night away? how exciting about Dex?s steps! Hope he had a lovely birthday and felt well enough to celebrate

Bodkin ? how is Isla now after the jag and the teething? she sounds soo sweet with her "I yuff ooo"

Fettle ? I?m good thanks hon, 10 weeks now and craving oranges and lemons! also crying at everything sorry to hear that the coil is not working for you how was the wedding? The whole kids situation sounded odd ? can?t have one and not the other!

Seaside ? wow! Amazing news about Rattling and Rah, must go find them after this! Xavier cuddles me and says ?ah ah ah? I love it! We had a childfree wedding (we got married at 6pm and the black tie reception started at 8pm) we put on a crèche for under 2s and it was a disaster, all the babies periodically woke each other up and most of the parents missed the reception. How are Cassius? teeth? Sounds like our boys are doing similar things

Hey Iammummy, thinking of you, hard times hey? x

Hello Rainbowdays fingers crossed for a 4th BFP for you! Xavier HATES chicken but likes most other things!

Can you all share with me your tips for keeping house, making meals for hubby and baby and getting out and about?? How on earth can I work too when I can?t keep on top of this now?

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

rainbowdays · 07/11/2008 21:57

MrsMc - sorry to hear that your announcement was not taken so well, I am at your dads reaction, it is not good. I have to say that I have learnt my lesson when it comes to announcing (hopefully) another pregnancy, I will not be telling my parents-in-law until it is too blatently obvious and then I won't be telling them, but leave it to dh to confirm any suspisions they have. They only live 500yards away from us but the stress of the bad reactions each time I am pregnant,is too much for me to deal with. You also asked how I keep on top of things - my solution is to only do what is vital and leave the rest. Of the vital tasks much is made easier by having a very big utility room, that works wonders to organise and sort all washing etc, this includes boxes with each persons name on, for throwing in clothes as they come off the dryer or ironing pile, and then once the box is full it gets taken to the room to be put into cupboards. Everyone who goes into my utility is amazed at how simple it makes sorting washing. I also have a big notice board there with all my appointments, tasks for the week and anything I should not forget. Are you bored yet or shall I continue... I also have written two week menu, and associated shopping list for each week, I am not very good at sticking to the menu all the time, but it means I have to think less about ideas for meals. OK I think I have waffled enough here to bore you to sleep MrsMc. Suffice to say, I live in organized chaos, but am crazy enough to love it.

iamamummy · 07/11/2008 23:09

hi ladies

honey - belated happy birthday to dex!! congrats on his first steps too - any sign of teeth yet?

mrs - i am and so so with your parents reactions to B2! and also the comments your father made toward xavier how bloody awful for you ((hugs)) glad to hear dh is feeling more at ease in spain now. we also bought oscar the next stage of car seat - he was beaming from ear to ear when he sat in it for the first time. dont stress yourself out with trying to be the perfect housewife just get the essentials done and concentrate on little xavier and B2, i am also finding the more active oscar gets the harder work he is i have to constantly watch him he is into EVERYTHING! he has already ripped down our patio door blinds god knows how though i dont think even i could do that with brute force!!

rainbow - you sound perfectly organised with your expanding family! how old is jack now? cant believe he is crawling already!! oscar is showing no signs whatsoever of crawling he just likes to stand or go in his walker - if i put him on the floor he screams.

hi to everyone else xx

greedygreedyguzzler · 08/11/2008 10:55

iamamummy - maybe he wont crawl! maybe he can be a bum shuffler with marcy! its very cute.............and funny when dh was trying to do it down the hallway last night to see what it felt like! he is a dick sometimes!

rainbowdays - WOW! now that is organised!!! hows the bonking? ...is that a real 90's word? sorry! hows the shagging?.......or baby making, is that better!?

mrs - your mum and dad never seem to say the right things do they?! im sure they are only thinking of you and what is best for you and dh and X but it probably doesnt seem like that to you at the moment. dont forget you are super hormonal so you are bound to take everything to heart a lot more.
my advice for keeping house etc is to lower your standards! you cant have a perfectly neat tidy clean house with a beautiful meal cooked for dh every night. it would be too stressful to even try, so just try and relax your standards a bit and only do what you really need to....................no one is ever going to come round to mine for coffee are they, its really not that scummy, honest!

rah seems to have disappeared off MN since her BFP so i hope shes ok.

fettle · 08/11/2008 19:56

Evening all!

I might have to stop even trying to come on here as this delay is really frustrating! it is only on some threads. This one andn the temping buddies threads are really bad! don't have time to psend hours scrolling thourhg it and then typing is a right pain when you can't see what you are writing at the time!

Anyway......

Mrs Mc - how rubbish are your parents! Your father!!! I don't have words to express what I think about what he said. But big hugs from me!! I'm so pleased that DH is settling in better though - that is great news.

Greedy - never say never!!!! I'm still not saying never - even though DH is! Don't tell him that though. Maybe when Toby is 7 I might persuade him that another might be a good idea. My sis-in-law had a baby girl on Friday morning, which is so lovely. But then live in Ireland, so I don't know when we will get a chance to meet her. So want to have a cuddle with a little tiny baby So sad that my little Toby is now a toddler, but he is so cute toddling around everywhere! He's got nearly all his teeth now though - only 1 left to appear on the bottom and 3 on the top. i'm sure DD took much longer to get them all. GHe's been pretty poorly recently and I'm sure these teeth have been part of the promble especially in the last couple of days. For the first time ever his cheeks were rosy this evening, so it must be bad today!

Rioght - really sorry everyone, but I can't be bothered with this blasted slowness any more, so I'm off to make my supper. DH is in hospital - he had a torn tendon repaired in his shoulder and they did something else complicated sounding that DH didn't really understand, but as long as it sorsts his pain and he's not incapicated for too long, we'll all be happy again!! Not sure he'll be skiing at Christmas which he's annoyed about, but means that he can look after Toby while I do a bit more skiing than I have done for the last couple of years!!!. Although... I'm off to see an orthopaedic surgeoun too as I've been diagnosed as having torn my cartiligelidge and possibly damaged my anterior cruiciate ligamnet in my knee! Will be fun having that sorted out although the GP thinks they might leave it as I've survived for over 20 years with it so far! Annoyed it's taken numerous trips to different GPs before one finally diagnosed it currectly. Had a bad skiing accident when I was 10!!!

Not going to bother reading this through for typos, so I hope you can understand it!

big hugs and waves to everyone.
xxx

Chooster · 08/11/2008 20:07

Hee hee - your DH doing bum shuffling down the hallway . How did he get on? Is he going to try again or was it not convinced about it as a mode of transport?? Ellis may enjoy the climbing Greeds - At the place I go to (Its Ratho Mrs, have you ever been? Its fab out there isn't it!), they wont teach the kids til they are 5, but I can take Max until then and teach him myself. We'll definately be going back again... Glad Marcy is back to being adorable, but whats the story with her dodgy sleeping? I was always very envious cos you seemed to only make good sleepers .

Mrs - I can't believe your parents reaction to B2, at least your PIL were there to save it from being too awkward. So sweet that FIL cried... He must adore Xavier. But some of the things your parents said are awful and I feel so annoyed for you. How can a baby under 1 be spoilt? By his family loving him too much . Thats just crazy! Am sure deep down they are pleased - they have to be because they are really very lucky to have you guys so close and being able to see their grandson (plus number 2!) on a regular basis especially as your 2 sisters are in the UK. Your Dad sounds really controlling with his 'meetings'. I'm sure they did the very best they could for you and your sisters growing up, but it is your right now to do what you please, and if that is to jack it all in permanently to concentrate on family then so be it (if only we had the cash to do that eh!?). Are you going to go to his next summons?

In terms of keeping on top of things, I dont have any magic answer apart from, as Greedy says, lower standards, and mine weren't that high to start of with . DH still has higher standards and expects the house to be regularly tidier than it is, but its not that easy with 2 lively boys in the house. It really is a juggling act that only get harder when you throw in more kids and work, so set expctations now . Very glad to hear that DH has setlted in more now. It always takes time to get used to living in a place.

Any luck with looking for part time work Iamamummy? What sort of things are you looking at?

Right, better head off, MIL is here so DH and I can pop out to the pub. Have been doing a ridiculous diet the last 2 weeks so this is my first drink for a while. Can't wait!! And we were out last night to see James Bond - really enjoyed it!! .

Chooster · 08/11/2008 20:12

Crossed fettle!! The slowness sounds really annoying! And it seems like you are all in the wars a bit?? Is DD OK?

Better head off...

MrsMcJnr · 08/11/2008 22:03

Thanks for your support ladies

Rainbowdays ? it?s so unfair that family members can dampen great news like a baby isn?t it? why are your PIL so anti an expanding family? You know, I?ve just remembered, my Dad was on a business trip when my Mum told my Grandparents (his parents) that she was pg for the 3rd time, their reaction was that she still had time to ?get rid of it? before he got back! She was furious as my sister was very planned and yet she and my Dad are virtually repeating history with their attitudes! I love your organisation ideas our utility room is tiny (the whole place is ? this is my biggest problem, it is so cramped and gets so messy!) I use the back of the front door as a message board, it?s covered in post it?s of things I need to do!

Iamamummy ? thanks hon. I know what you mean about the babies being into everything!

Greedy ? I know a girl at the park whose baby bum shuffles, it?s so cute! Thanks for playing devil?s advocate I just feel that a big motivator for my Dad is the fact he just wants a daughter working as a lawyer and I hate that materialistic crap thanks for the house keeping advice, I feel like I don?t even manage on very low standards fingers crossed for Rah.

Fettle ? how annoying that MN is playing up for you thanks for your support hon congrats on the new niece I was cuddling a 4 week old last week ? delicious!! Hope your DH makes a good recovery, off to France over Christmas?

Hey Chooster ? I?ve been to Ratho but I didn?t climb myself, I hate heights and Ian and his cousins were doing the sky walk thing, ugggghh! I could hardly watch! Thanks for all your thoughts and support, like you said, I wish I could afford to never work again alas I don?t think I can but I don?t need it rammed down my throat! Glad to hear that you and A are having some time to yourself

iamamummy · 11/11/2008 11:29

hi ladies!!

we are dropping down the page again so thought id bump us!

i am totally full of cold feel bloody terrible! had an incident with my car on saturday night on the way to fireworks so that is now off the road and i have to walk everywhere in the freezing cold can you tell im feeling sorry for myself?!

greedy - oscar doesnt even bum shuffle - he just sits there! lol at your dh being a copy cat that though thats so funny!!

fettle - hope your dh is out ofhospital and on the mend, on the plus side though wahey to more skiing!! whats up with your computer not loading mn?? i have the same thing when i do tesco online for some reason the pc will not load the special offers

chooster - what sort of diet have you been doing? i cant seem to stick to one at the moment i cave in after 2/3 days...hope you enjoyed your night out with dh. no joys yet on the work front, im keeping my options open to anything really. something to do with property would be great but not very likely in this present situation so just applying for assisstant/receptionist type jobs.

mrs - has the sickness tailed off yet? how are the injections going?

well id better go sounds like world war 3 downstairs oscar is on the loose!!

xx

iamamummy · 11/11/2008 11:38

i have updated my pictures of my little monkey xx

Chooster · 11/11/2008 12:15

I can't see your page Iamamummy to see the pics of Oscar. It seems blocked - or is it something personal? .

Good luck with the job hunt. The hardest thing I found was finding a job close enough to home and with hours to suit. Looking for part-time work can be tough can't it? Am sure there is something out there though .

Sorry to hear that you are feeling a bit crap as well... We've all had some kind of cold / virus thing. Glands have been swollen for over a week and just headachy etc... Not poorly enough to be off work / nursery, just under the weather. Of course DH is affected more than any of us . Oh yes, and I was on my Atkins diet again... I've lost another 2.5 pounds which is not good considering I did it for 2 weeks. Only 3 pounds to go before I hit my target weight though, just finding it so hard to keep off what I'm losing. Not sure if I'm just trying to go below what should me my natural weight, if you see what I mean.

Hi mrs, parents can be bloody annoying can't they? Strange how they have forgotten how they were treated when having your sister. Good to hear that the sickness is getting better though.

All good here, at work at the moment and probably gonna do some on-line xmas shopping now. I'm getting all xmas excited already!

Chooster · 11/11/2008 12:17

By the way what are you all getting for your kids?? I need to buy stuff for the kids for me and DH, and from my mum who can't get out to the shops and for PIL who are in Aus for a month before xmas. So, I've got the great job of buying loads of pressies but get loads of cash back

greedygreedyguzzler · 11/11/2008 12:44

just did a HUGE post (for me anyway) and then lost it!!!

iamamummy, i cant see your pics either. did you save them under an old nickname. you dont have a profile as 'iamamummy'

having a pants day today. lots of stuff going on at work i could really do without. might be losing the room that i rent and need to look for new premises which is a real shitter. not sure i can be arsed with all the hassle of it and dh is hopeless at this sort of thing too. anyway, i wont bore you withh all my problems.

chooster - if you had little girls i could suggest millions of things to buy for them, but i think boys are much trickier! i am struggling with what to get for ellis. he wants all the astrosaur books that he hasnt already got (great if they like books, dinosaurs and space) and he wants some magic trick stuff and a joke book! apart from that i am stuck too, so i will see what everyone else suggests!

better go, got no time to do a long post now cos my next patient is here!

greedygreedyguzzler · 11/11/2008 12:47

just wanted to say, well done on the weight loss chooster, 2 1/2 lb is better than nothing. i cant keep my weight off at all! i am too heavy and would love to lose a stone, but just cant get motivated at the moment. need to lose it before xmas though.....cos i always gain 1/2 stone then......so need to lose it first if you see what i mean!

iamamummy · 11/11/2008 15:03

i hope i have changed the settings now so you can see?

well done on the weight loss chooster! i just cant seem to lose it, im heavier now than while i was pregnant! for xmas we are getting oscar that springy zebra thing advertised on tv, and some other bits and pieces. i want to go more along the educational toy route if that makes sense?! or maybe im just boring dont even get me started on how colds affect men. dp woke up saturday with a sore throat as did i - sunday i had practically lost my voice and dp sounded normal but he was "dying" and so so poorly...bless him

greedy - poor you on your work situation! i hope you find somewhere else suitable. and things pick up.
