you planning a fourth honey, BTW?

How's the expressing going?

Very disjointed post above sorry - Toby kept passing me his phone to have a chat on and I lost my thoughts!

Bodkin · 23/09/2008 20:26

Cor, these babies are all turning into such tinkers aren't they!!! I do think that 2nd children are generally more tinkerish than the first though - that's what seems to be the case with about 99% of my friend's 2nd children anyway.

Fettle - My heart did do a quick flip when you said about returning the cardy - as it is for a lady in Wiltshire!!! Hope she's not a mate of yours But it is genuinely lovely and doesn't smell in the least of that rank Chazza shop smell as it has been lovingly handwashed by me!
That's lovely that you got to see Toby's first step. Am sure he'll be toddling around the place in no time...

Greedy - That sounds like an absolute mare of a day! Still not quite sure how you managed to lock yourself IN the house, with your keys still in the car... did your DH lock you in by mistake then?
I am slightly that you have seen my dodgy DIY website which I did about 4 years ago using some rubbish software.

Chooster - sorry to hear you've been suffering with the voms...sounds really grim...you always sound so casual about such things. That's nice that you feel happy and content to stop at 2 - me too. It's so lovely now that Nelly and Isla are starting to get a real bond and be so fond of each other... Isla gets so excited when we go to get Nelly from school.

Honeyapple - hanging on to the Amby eh? I'll say no more

MrsMcJnr · 24/09/2008 22:32

Hey ladies so sorry, seemed to loose the thread and it took me a while to find you again! all good here, hope it is with you too... I shall read up a bit

MrsMcJnr · 24/09/2008 22:45

?lose? the thread even

Oh Firsty am thinking of you if you are lurking xx

I?ve missed so many first days at school, 1st birthdays and anghuish as well as laughs!

Xavier is exactly 8 months old today, now has 6 teeth, shrieks, kisses, claps and crawls ? god I love him not much happening on the TTC front, CD 534 today!

greedygreedyguzzler · 25/09/2008 13:57

bodders - yes, dh did lock me in (which he always does when he leaves and we are still in bed, otherwise ANYONE could get in). my second child wasnt a tinker but marcy is a right pain in the arse at the moment!!!!! never wants to be in her buggy or held by me, just wants her freedom but cos she shuffles everywhere on her bum its difficult ever getting her out! kikis nursery starts at 12.30 and marcy is the tiredest child in the world EVER by that time so just whinges, screams or cries when i take kiki in. she pulled a handful of kikis hair out today when she was saying goodbye to her. kikis teacher said " shes a bit of a handful that one isnt she!".....................cant wait till she starts walking cos then i can just put her down and let her go!!! shes asleep now ........THANK GOD!!!!

by the way.......you think getting locked in the house is daft.........did i ever tell you about the time i got locked in a corridoor for 10 hours!!!!!! i had to make a potty for myself out of a plastic bag and an empty plum punnet!!!! see what a dippy cow i am!

went to the opticians yesterday (my brother) cos he thought ellis needed glasses and its ended up that kiki needs them!!! so her bright pink spongebob squarepants glasses are ready for us to collect next week. cant help feeling a bit sad that she needs them and i nearly cried when she tried them on but obviously had to pretend to be really excited for her. poor little thing........shes not even 4 yet!

fettle - talking of fires, my dh managed to leave one ring on the gas hob on the other day and we didnt notice until the next evening so it had been on overnight and all the next day!

my friend who had a baby 3 weeks ago just phoned. she is the one who is a midwife, so i thought this baby lark would be a piece of piss for her, but i think she is finding it harder than she thought it would be. brought it all back to me when she was describing her labour and everything!

bugger! think i can hear marcy and i havent got my energy back yet!

MrsMcJnr · 25/09/2008 18:14

Gosh Greedy when I read your post I wondered if I was ready for a 2nd (no news yet! ) I find one hard enough! Sorry to hear Marcy is being a handful, I can empathise on the not wanting to be in the buggy; Xavier makes his back rigid and screams! I got locked in the loo at soft play yesterday for 20 mins!! Luckily a friend was looking after X but she did begin to worry what I was up too!

Xavier has zonked out after his swimming class he?s so cute in the pool, loves it!

fettle · 25/09/2008 21:31

Greedy - if your DH told you that your keys were in your car and he was the one who locked you in that morning - then surely he's the dippy one, not you?! He knew you didnt' have your keys in the house! How you get locked in a corridor though? Was it dark?

Did I not tell you about my attempts to make a cake for DD's birthday and how we left the hob on and set fire to the oven gloves - thank goodness for smoke alarms I say!!

Sorry - have to dash off... hope everyone is doing ok?

Did I tell you Toby fell down the stairs yesterday? My goodness was I shaking for hours afterwards - needless to say he's fine, save for a little bump on his forehead - so so lucky!

xxx

MrsMcJnr · 26/09/2008 10:00

Oh my god! I think I am pregnant took a test just now (well 2 different makes actually ) and there are faint lines on both! I?m jumping between excitement and fear ? I am so happy but no have no dr here yet, not on Soc Sec, no private health insurance, no job plus there is the whole heparin complication! BUT I?m hopefully going to have another baby!!!! Ovusoft says I am due on 6 June next year but they?ll only want to go on scans due to the fact that I am on CD536!!! DH is going to be thrilled but my parents are going to kill me, thank god they left to go on holiday for a week which gives me time to think it all through!

Chooster · 26/09/2008 10:39

Oh my goodness - potentially another baby mac - Very very very thrilled for you!!! . Even if there are things to think about and consider, at least you're over the first hurdle . Great news... And you've got a bit of breathing space from your parents which will help you and DH get your head around things and get a good plan for how you're going to get doctors etc... before your mum starts chipping in. Aaaah, and little Xavier sounds as cute as a button . Oooops about getting locked in a loo at softplay, kind of funny though .

Yeah, I'm also intrigued by the corridor thing Greedy - 10 hours is a huge amount of time, you must have been starving... Sometimes I get stuck between floors at work when I forget my access pass, but thats probably only for 5 mins tops...

Speaking of fires though have I told you that my car caught fire... as I was driving along??? It was a fire engine job as well and the tyres and petrol tank exploded . Needless the say the car was a write off.... The road was closed as they dealt with it and I was so embarassed and shaken. at the hob being on Greedy!!!! Thats one of my pet OCD moments - I always check it before we go out and then worry its on just after I've left the house. That and my hair straighteners...

Theo is definately a total tinker!!!! So he fits the mould - he's just so full on and so full of energy all the time... He got a black mark against his name at nursery yesterday for trying to rugby tackle the smaller babies . He has some good wrestles on the floor with max so I think he doesn't understand why a 5 month old baby doesnt want to do the same.... I'm sure Marcy will settle soon once she's on her feet Greeds....

Right better be off and do some work - I'm just so busy at the moment that I've been working most evenings and am just knackered. I think you asked a while ago if I would be sad to lose my job and I dont know fettle. I do kind of enjoy it and the great thing is that it is so flexible and part time. I just dont see myself being able to get a well paid job with the same benefits. And I do need to work somehow financially...

Right, gonna go now...

honeyapple · 26/09/2008 16:22

blimey mrs! That was pretty speedy work - really hope it all goes well and those faint lines become big fat ones. Dont worry about all the boring stuff! Everything will be fine! Promise!

fettle · 26/09/2008 19:01

MrsMC - wow - that's good going!! CONGRATULATIONS Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly for you.

Chooster - Completely understand your work thoughts. I'm actually really missing work (not really my job, but just working and being important and seeing the (nice) people I used to work with and I'm really missing bringing in my own money). however, I'm also loving spending time with Toby - although he is exhausting and has to watched all the time! He just has no fear and climbs everything! He definitely sounds just like Theo - i must have run up the stairs about 25 times today! Let's hope the weight starts falling off again soon (or we should really try and find a stair gate that fits at the bottom and that would save him climbing all the time!).

Sorry to hear Marcy is a bit of a handful Greeds - have to say that once Toby is in his pram he's very happy to stay there - does take quite a bit of strength and persuasion to get him strapped in at times!

Honey - any joy in the expressing yet?

right - need to go find my watch and then i'm going out with some school mum friends - hope you all have a great weekend. Hope this beautiful weather lasts.

Take care
xxx

MrsMcJnr · 27/09/2008 15:14

Thank you all for your good wishes the line is still very faint but it?s there! I was trying to think of a good way to tell DH because last time I just waved the stick in his face at 4.30am! so I made him a G&T and broke the news as he fed DS his supper. DH was in shock said ?seriously? Really?? about 10 times so I showed him the tests and then he said ?is it mine?? ? he said he couldn?t remember getting up to much recently!

Fettle ? hope Toby is ok after his fall you must have got a horrible shock too! Thanks for the congrats hon

Chooster ? thanks hon what a nightmare about your car catching fire! hope your job is ok and you get to keep it. I?ll email very soon x

Thanks Honey we are really excited about ?B2? already!!

Greeds ? you ok hon?

Miserable weather here, torrential rain!!!!

honeyapple · 29/09/2008 09:39

iamamummy · 29/09/2008 10:00

mrsmc - WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! huge congrats!!! sooo quick! im really pleased for you, now get yourself to the docs so you can get the injections you need!!

fettle - how was your night out with the school mums? hope you had a lovely time

greedy - poor you being a prisoner in your own home!! lol @ ellis being passed through the window though! my dp also locks us in the house when he goes to work too cos he thinks that someone could come in whilst we are asleep in bed.

bodkin - result on the cardigan!!

sorry this is a quickie, i am now off to paint one of our flats as the tenants have moved out and totally wrecked the place! on another note i have had a brainstorm..my maternity leave ends in a months time and i wont be returning to work purely for childcare reasons but i have decided to go to law school!! im really excited and feel that i would really be acheiving something if i managed to get a degree!

big hellos to everyone else xxxxxx

MrsMcJnr · 29/09/2008 22:41

Where are you all??

Hey Honey

Thanks Iammummy - law school! brave girl! I know what you mean about this age Xavier gives me such lovely cuddles and kisses

greedygreedyguzzler · 30/09/2008 12:26

hello all!!!

cant believe i have been away for a few days and missed your news mrs!!!!!! WOW!!!!!! massive congratulations! how exciting another baby on this thread!!!!! in some ways i think its even more exciting getting pg the second time cos you know EXACTLY what is in store for you and that you get this gorgeous little bundle at the end of it!

marcy is a bit better the past few days, but i am at work now so i would say that!!! i thik its a combination of frustration and teeth, but thank god my other two are superstars (most of the time anyway!) and i do remember kiki doing exactly the same at a simliar age.

i had a very strange experience yesterday that i have to share with you all! i went to change marcys nappy cos she had done a poo and as i went to take it off i noticed lots of crumbly stuff coming out of the top of her nappy at the back, kind of like biscuit crumbs. first of all i thought it was just a very messy poo, then i remembered i had given her a hobnob about 5 hours earlier and i thought it had gone staright through her undigested. then i finally realised that she must have posted the hobnob down the back of the neck of her vest and as she bumshuffled around it worked its way into her nappy and got crushed. doesnt actually sound that strange, but it was!

ok chooster. let me tell you how i got locked in a coriddor! we used to live in a flat in a big old house. i closed the door ( which locks as you close it) and i had accidently dropped my keys just inside the door. so i needed my keys to get out of the front door or back inside my flat. so i was stuck! i knocked on the other 5 doors and everyone had gone to work. luckily (?!) i was meant to be staying at a friends house that night and so had a duvet with me (which is prob why i dropped my keys anyway!) but at least i could just snuggle down and wait! i did have my lunch and a punnet of plums for food (and later, to use as a toilet!) actually it sounds like heaven now! having nothing to do all day apart from sleep! i didnt have a mobile either by the way (it was about 9 years ago!)
anyway.....there you go! thats how daft i am!

CONGRATS again mrs!!!!

Chooster · 30/09/2008 19:50

Just about to say hello and Theo stirs - whats that about!! Anyway, hello!!!! Hopefully I'll pop back later but DH has a big exam tomorrow and I'm meant to be testing him .

Amazing you had a duvet with you when you were locked in a corridor Greeds!! Love that story - your neighbours did long days eh! Did you have anything to read???

Right, he's really whingeing now... BYE

Bodkin · 30/09/2008 20:38

Wowzer Mrs!!!! That is amazing!!!! Hope that line gets nice and fat and am sure everything will fall into place - well, it will just have to won't it! That is just like my best mate who was TTC for about 2 years and then they realised she had a blood clotting problem. So as soon as that was diagnosed and treated she fell pg straight away. Then for No. 2 they started TTC when DS1 was about 6 months cos they were worried about it taking so long again, and needless to say she fell pg without even having had a period!

Iamamummy - Law school eh? My brain is still complete mush!

Chooster - hope Theo settles for you tonight.

Greedy - i have just been chuckling at your post... a classic Greedy post that - hobnobs in nappies, peeing in plum punnets...I don't think I can top that really
Although we did find it quite amusing on Saturday when I took all our lunch out into the garden to eat on the lawn (was lovely and sunny) and when we sat down I said, "oh, i must have left Isla's in the kitchen" but it wasn;t there... it was only on close inspection we realised that Isla was actually already sitting right on top of it. Scrambled eggs and beans on toast as well. She was completely unconcerned about the whole situation....

Hi Fettle, Honey and everyone else

fettle · 01/10/2008 19:22

Hello all

How you all doing? Been checking up, but never really got anything interesting to bore say to you all!

Iammummy - good on you doing a law degree! Fantastic plan. Good luck with it all - I really wish from time to time that I'd done my law conversion course!

Greedy - still imagining you in a really dark corridor with no lights on - but pleased you had a duvet to get comfortable on! How is Marcy doing? Is is she getting more content? How close is she to walking? Any signs? I'm sure she and you will be much happier when she is up and about! But I was a bottom-shuffler and I didn't bother walking until about 17 months, as there was no point, you've got 2 free hands to carry everything when your on your bottom, so there's no incentive to get up on to your hindlegs!

Toby is still just cruising - he's standing on his own less and less now, but it still climbing constantly!! He'll probably be the youngest ever to the summit of Everest if I let him go!!

Mrs - how you feeling? Hope it is all going ok? And i hope you've managed to find a doctor to start arrangements for your injections?

Bodders - poor Isla sitting on her lunch! Did you make her some more, or did you feed her her squashed beans?! how is Nelly getting on at school?

I've found out from DD's teacher than she is very enthusiatic, almost too much and always wants to say the answer to questions and always asks questions, so they are trying to calm her down. Mainly because there are some really really quiet people in the class who aren't getting a chance to speak. While I understand that she is pretty full-on with her questioning, I'm sad to think of her being overly stiffled, so I'm hoping that they are handling it well and they are not going to turn her into a mouse. I'd rather have an enthusiastic girl, than one than never said anything. What do you all think? I'm probably overly analysing it, as of course she is the most wonderful girl in the world!!![biased and totally blinkered mother emoticon]. And all she is being asked to do is think before she asks a question, whether she already knows the answer to the question and whether she really needs to ask it.

Oooops - off on a tangent there - sorry.....

Chooster - how is work going? Glad you are enjoying it. I'm missing it so much, but what my job was before I left it, not what I would have gone back to now, as it has completely changed. Do you think Theo would like to accompany Toby up Everest?!!!

Honey - how you and your beautiful family? How is the new house? Hope all the boxes and completely unpacked. Did you ever manage to express or did you have to give up?

Big waves to everyone else - come back soon and see us!!

ooh cute Toby moment and i'm sure your littlies will have been doing this for ages, but Toby just started giving me a cuddle this evening when I said the word!! So so so sweet, just had to keep repeating it!!!! He got bored before I did

xxx

seaside72 · 01/10/2008 20:35

Evening all

All is well with us - fettle - so cute that Toby is giving cuddles - DH has taught Cassius to "kiss" when you say kiss and make the mwah noise he stops what he is doing and opens his mouth and leans in to your mouth!! _ sooooo cute- but need to try and get him to close the mouth! bit of a dilemma about DD and her excellent question asking - is there a way you can discuss it with her and try and find out what the teachers have said to her about it? Perhaps they need to give her a role helping the quieter ones rather than discouraging her to be herself?

Mrs - Wow!! a BFP - amazing news so when will you be due? I had better get a move on to try and catch up Actually think we will start to TTC again next year maybe??
Great news about your decision to do a law degree Iammummy where will you study for it?

ROFL at greedy's locked in stories - 10 hours is mad!!! I sincerely wish Cassius was only bum shuffling - at the moment his commando crawling is super speedy and means all his clothes are filthy - the drool goes down the neck and then wipes the floors as he speeds along - grrr. And poor old Isla sitting on her food - but LOL that she did not even seem bothered !

How is the montessori rainbowdays? I have been meaning to go up to our local one and have a look - would like to enrol Cassius for one or two mornings a week next year. Which leads me onto a question for you all - when did you put your LO's in nursery/playschool etc and for how long? I think Cassius needs the stimulation and I want him to do stuff without me IYKWIM as I do not want him to get to 3 or 4 and never have been away from me?? Is that OK?

Right better go have bills to pay and now we have dropped the 11pm feed I can actually go to bed early which is bliss! (fingers crossed - he has been sleeping 7.30-7.30 ish - hope it lasts a while )

MrsMcJnr · 01/10/2008 20:53

Hey Chooster that sounds like the story of my life..?I?ll just do X? I think and then ?Wahhhh? good luck to DH for his exam!!

Thanks Greedy we are really excited about B2!! Got my first Drs appointment tomorrow to get scanned and sorted for the heparin. Spookily I am exactly the same stage as I was with DS when I had my 1st appointment, 5+3 so let?s hope that?s a good omen! Teething is such a horrid think for babies isn?t it? LOL at the biscuit, same happens to DS with rusks! Love the corridor story

Thank you Bodders LOVED the story of Isla sitting on her lunch oh dear!!!

Fettle ? I?m feeling fine thanks, tired, smelling far too many things for my liking but that?s all fine I do get worried about all the lifting of DS and all his stuff I have to do ? silly I know but I didn?t have this to contend with last time, should I worry? When I was little I was always told I was a chatterbox, over the top etc etc and as I got further through school that became ?participates well and shows enthusiasm in class? don?t let them stifle her!!!

Seaside Xavier does those kisses, I love them well only from him not from DH! think I?m due on 6 June

I resigned today, got emails back immediately from all 3 bosses saying how much I?d be missed, I was quite taken aback!

scorpio1 · 01/10/2008 21:31

Congrats Mrs!!!!

I don't think i can get pg whilst BF-ing, nothing happened, but not stressing at all.

We had a lovely week in France

Chooster · 02/10/2008 13:02

Hey ladies, Hope you are all doing well...

Great news that you have your doc appt Mrs, wow - its all happening fairly quick isn't it . Thats brilliant . I wouldn't worry about lifting anything, unless you've got specific concerns? I was picking up DS1 right up until the end of my pregnancy with DS2. In fact I remember running through Luton airport at 6 or 7 months pregnant carrying DS1 and our bags - I must have looked a right sight . Just wait til you are pregnant with DC4 and you'll have kids hanging off you everywhere . Let us know how you get on at the docs! How is DH getting on in his new job?

Aw, all these babies giving kisses!! Its so cute isn't it... Theo does big open mouth kisses with a bit of tongue and now Max does the same back to him, and they both think its hysterical - this often happens when they are in the bath together naked so it looks well dodgy . We are considering taking a photo to humiliate them in later life when they are fighting.

Oooh yes fettle Theo will be well up for some mountain climbing!!! There is a climbing centre near us with a huge indoor climbing wall and I want to take Max when he's about 5 or 6 and I can totally see Theo there too. Sorry that you are missing your job fettle, but I know what you mean about missing your old job rather than how things would have been if you'd returned. It still sounds like you've made the right decision, and I'm sure some part-time work locally will help when you decide the time is right. I'm still unsure about whether I would want to be a full-time SAHM or whether I want to work. Maybe fate will step in . I can understand your concern about DD - I'd always want my kids to be confident and question things as opposed to be reluctant to speak up, but it sounds like the school are only teaching her to consider what she wants to say before she does it rather than telling her not to do it. Is that right? Also if they are teaching a greater awareness of others in the class as well then that will be a good social skill for her. (not saying she needs it of course )

Great to hear from you seaside! Cassius and his regular sleeping sounds wonderful . Theo is finally turning into a semi-regular through-the-night sleeper, but he often stirs and gives a little cry out. However he doesn't need much excuse to start having broken night sleeps, i.e teeting, too hot, too cold etc...

Poor Isla and her beany bottom!!! . I bet your DP and Nelly found it funny . Hows DP's work - is he still really busy? When is your little break?

Oooh, run out of time and need to get back to work... All is well here really - DH's exam seemed to go well which is good and nice to have that out the way... And he is still going to see his 'shrink' (well, anger management lady) and its making such a huge difference - he's actually being a lot calmer with the boys.

iamamummy · 02/10/2008 15:01

afternoon ladies

mrs - you are sounding blissfully happy! let us know how the doctors goes. are you quite confident with the language? i assume the doctor will be spanish

seaside - cassius sounds delightful! i have taught oscar how to kiss and when i say kiss kiss he opens his mouth wide and lunges for my mouth but uses his tongue so hasnt quite perfected it yet. i was going to ask the same thing about nursery/playschool so be interesting what is said. i will be going to luton uni however i will have to do a year at college as i decided against doing a-levels so have to take an access course first which is slightly annoying but it will get me back into study mode. welldone cassius on his sleeping!!

chooster - brill idea of the photo of max and theo. i have been making a baby memory book of oscar since he was born and for halloween i have bought him a devil costume so really looking forward to getting snap happy and putting them in his book for a future gf to admire

anyone heard from babylove she has been very quiet?!!

hello to everyone else. xxx

rainbowdays · 02/10/2008 16:22

Hi all, just catching up for a quick moment here before Jak wakes up.

News here is that Jak is 6 months old today and today I finally gave him his first solid food, I can hardly believe that I made it to six months with breastfeeding alone, Jak has thrived on it, and starting the hassel of giving him food seems so much harder than shoving a boob in his mouth!!!! With all the talk of baby kisses, Jak gives lovely mouth open wet dribbly ones too.

Mrs - Congratulations, great news, hope scan and docs visit go well. I am really pleased for you. But I am a little , as I would like to be starting again now too!!!

Seaside - montessori is great, dd is getting much more stimulation than she was at her playschool, but it is still relaxed enough. I think it is a good idea to get Cassius to have a couple of days a week with others. I personally think that it is great to be able to prepare children for being away from you as they learn their independance, but before school hits.

Chooster - good to hear that your dh's exam went well.

Scorpio - you never know you might get pg while bf-ing, I did and I am hoping it will happen again soon. So perhaps we both will have happy surprises soon.

Bodkin - your tale of Isla sitting on the scrambled eggs and beans made me smile!!!

greedy - sorry to hear that Marcy is having a screeching phase, it is not easy to deal with. How is it that little girls are equiped to emit painful excruciating sounds, boys are so much easier!

Fettle - I think I missed saying happy birthday to Toby, wow that year passed by so quickly. Great to hear how he is cruising all over the place now, first steps soon.

Iamamummy - how did the painting go, I always think that painting is so relaxing, but only once you get started. It is the hassel of arranging rooms and paintpots that is a pain. I will have to be painting our second spare room soon, as my parents will be using it as their sitting room, just got to get organised with it now. Also - well done on going back to study, it will be hard work but it is great.

big waves to firsty, honey, baby and I am sure I have missed someone else so hi to you too and sorry my brain is not working out.
