Come here and obsess about mucus, etc.
Have fun.
Try not to swear too much.
Oh actually, go for it.
The phrase "any news?" is BANNED. Offenders will be sat on by the most overdue woman present.

Well done Franny and congratulations, I can stop lurking now. But good luck to everyone else and hope your wait isn't too long and hideous.

jamiesummers · 18/07/2008 09:56

Hatrick
just had to look up dystocia (def difficult labour) was it shoulder dystocia? if so my reading suggests spending the rest of your pregnancy on all fours just in case of a repeat performance

Boys often do get themselves in undesirable positions from around 14 months old until death I presume!!

Tatties · 18/07/2008 09:59

Have some more congratulations and and from me over here too

And lots of good luck wishes to all of you still waiting

Yey for Franny. We can all get going now - it just wouldn't have been polite otherwise.

Hatrick - I think mine is in bad position too. Had same with DS (v long complicated labour and 12 days overdue with intervention in the end). DD was a dream birth 5 days early6 hours from first twinge.
Feeling extremely glum and hopeless...

jamiesummers · 18/07/2008 10:16

Hatrick I ahve been 40+ at least 10 with all 3 and feel justified in my opinion that I most definately should not be over with this one! I am worried because my only sister is on her 6wk hol to Cyprus and my 2 sil go away on Tues for 2 1/2 wks aswell, that only leaves my lovely dad to help my sixteen yr old dd with ds's aged 2 and 3 . Please don't mentiopn my in laws for fear I might spontaneously combust !!

mummy2bsoon · 18/07/2008 10:20

im so jealoussssssssssssssssssss!!! and os happy for u!!!!!

so who si next?

jamiesummers · 18/07/2008 10:21

Forget to add I will ask for a sweep if I am favourable ( I thought begging for sweep mw would assume I was favourable) but I think they mean my cervix !!

HumphreyCushioni · 18/07/2008 10:47

Congratulations Franny.
Hope you're OK, Hatrick.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/07/2008 10:58

Oh, oh, oh. I've just seen the good news Franny. Congratulations, and welcome to the world Lucien. I'm so glad everything went well for you.

Now the cervix opening vibes need to be directed towards Hatrick and Umlellha

morningpaper · 18/07/2008 11:02

Good luck to Hatrick and other soon-to-poppers

TigerFeet · 18/07/2008 11:09

The collective MN birthing vibes are more concentrated now aren't they?

LackaDAISYcal · 18/07/2008 12:02

congrats to F&Z and welcome to Lucien

MehgaLegs · 18/07/2008 12:51

Yeeha - well done Franny and hello Lucien.

jamiesummers · 18/07/2008 13:29

where is Hatrick?

Can her abscence be a sign do you think?

fryalot · 18/07/2008 14:16

hmmmm... there are a couple of hugely pregnant ladies missing at the mo, I think.

FrannyandZooey · 18/07/2008 14:17

LOL I see my suspicions about the Lucien / Lucian spelling were correct
we are not sure which is best tbh, and I can see whichever way, he will spend his life saying "no, with an --"

thanks all for lovely wishes and I hope this releases a tide of prostaglandins onto the thread
wish all you ladies-in-waiting much luck and love and hope you will be holding your babies soon

Lucian It is lovely whichever way you spell it

You know Franny I often get people spelling my ds's name with an e

harpsichordcarrier · 18/07/2008 14:51

yes I agree I think it is lovely spelt either way.
dd2's name (you know the one ) - well half the time ( I mean that literally) it is spelt incorrectly.
I don't think it matters tbh

FabioUnblogged · 18/07/2008 14:54

I think with an 'e' more likely to put emphasis on last syllable, with pronounced 'e'.

Did that make any sense?

LU-cian vs.
luci-ENN iyswim

fryalot · 18/07/2008 15:10

I agree with the others - both spellings are lovely, but luciEn is pronounced more loo-see-YEN.

when can we see pics of him in all his perfectness?

NotQuiteCockney · 18/07/2008 15:12

I see Lucien as the French spelling (hence French pronunciation), Lucian as the English. We know a Lucien, we know no Lucians. Tricky with the spelling, isn't it.

How are you pronouncing it?

FabioUnblogged · 18/07/2008 15:22

Isn't there a Lucian in ER and they pronounce it Looshan?
