Come here and obsess about mucus, etc.
Have fun.
Try not to swear too much.
Oh actually, go for it.
The phrase "any news?" is BANNED. Offenders will be sat on by the most overdue woman present.

hope no-one minds am copying post from 10 / 10 thread:

he's really beautiful
ds1 (omg I have a ds1 and a ds2 ) is being SO solicitous about him and telling us off for being too noisy (speaking in whispers
I will do details later but I was so lucky, can't believe he was born just in time to have him at home
and ds1 did not wake up a bit!
I MOOED oh god did I moo
and the gas and air ran out
oh man
what a night
thank you all

oh and his head was 35 cm
and my waters never broke
he came out in the membranes more or less and she had to strip them away
and I couldn't deliver the flaming placenta
that was the worst bit probably - it took forever and I was ready to jack the whole thing in
but they couldn't do anything - I hadn't had the injection and I wad going to have to transfer
anyway somehow it came out
I don't remember it all

oh and I bit the doula
I thought it was my own hand LOLOL
she was going "stop biting!" and I was saying "it's alright "
I didn't know I was biting HER
that was shortly after the gas and air ran out LOLOL

HUGE congratulations F&Z. Bet you can't even remember the horribleness of the last two weeks now. LOL at biting doula!

Am soooooooooooooo sad now.

  • 40wks+10days
  • 2days till induction
  • 2 relatives shot dead due to "any sign?/ooh I thought you were phoning to say..." type comments
  • 4 relatives wounded severely due to not saying "any sign?" comments but still have the tone of voice that says "any sign?"

you, you pacificst, eco friendly, veg munching lentil weaver bit the doula! hahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

moooing is good, good birth noise to make!

being born inside intact membranes ( the 'caul' ) is very lucky.. sailors used to buy the caul as you will never drown at sea if you are born in the caul....

a very auspicious start to life for lucien

shame about his ASBO mother !

Congratulations to Franny! I'm hoping this full moon will help us all along. I've been told to attend the hospital on Monday (41 weeks) but don't want to have a sweep, any advice for a first timer who doesn't want intervention? Are there any religions that forbid fanjo tampering that I can convert to over the weekend?

Report
MamaG · 18/07/2008 09:21

gilly are there any specific reasons why you don't want a sweep? Is it nerves/fear of the unknown?

I don't think they can force you to have one - I had one with DS and I wouldn't hesitate to have another. Yes, it was a bit uncomfortable but it wasn't painful and it really did get things going.

gillythekid · 18/07/2008 09:25

Yeh, MamaG I just want my body to get ready itself and not be coerced into it really. My last period was 16/10/07 which means I'm probably not due till Tuesday anyway so want the chance for things to ripen naturally. Not nervous or fearful at all, thank god!

MamaG · 18/07/2008 09:27

Just tell them that - they might be more cooperative than you think

OMG am I the only person who would except any form of intervention if it meant I was no longer pregnant and I could run around after my 3 other kids, wear my normal clothes and actually kiss DH without traversing into him sideways!!!!

39+1 and seeing midwife this pm to beg for intervention !

MamaG · 18/07/2008 09:33

jamie I'm the same as you

Just get it out
