Can i join you ladies??

I was due on the 12th so am too overdue. Im throughly fed up and bored with waiting!

I really thought i would be a week early but baby is beng lazy like its daddy.

No BH's, pain, niggles, nothing!!

Ive got a hospital appointment for a sweep tomorow at 9am so hoping that moves things along nicely.

mrsmacleod - agree about being hot .... im boiling!!

springerspaniel · 15/07/2008 16:46

Sweep was no worse than a smear test. Not really dilated but soft - not very interesting for pregnancy number 2.

Arses.

Induction booked for Sunday so at least I know that I have a maximum of 7 days until baby.

MamaG · 15/07/2008 16:47

Hang in there Franny, DS won't even remember this period in a few weeks, he'll be so busy with the baby!

Hatrick - lol at your facebook updating

All of you getting second babies, I just want to tell you how ENORMOUS your first child will seem when they walk into the room/hospital after you've had teh baby - I got such a shock with DD, she suddenly looked like she'd grown a foot! (she also had some vile lacy ribbons in her hair, which was tied up in high pigtails thanks MIL for that)

MamaG · 15/07/2008 16:48

Glad it went well springer

pigleychez - welcome - Squonk and I aren't overdue, we just have a strange fascination with this thread

I nominate us the MN Overdue Cheerleading Squad!

FrannyandZooey · 15/07/2008 18:18

I can't really understand how people genuinely think it is ok to keep ringing up and asking 'any news?'
I mean, really

AIBU?

pigleychez - welcome I'm actually not even pregnant. I'm just a birth groupie

I second what MamaG was saying about suddenly seeing a HUGE child when your older one comes to visit. When ds was born, dd2 was only 14 months old, so not exactly a giant, but it seemed that dp went home and collected a rather large child to visit us in the hospital!

I didn't have to worry about the pigtails though, as dd2 was still totally bald

Tatties · 15/07/2008 19:32

Franny YANBU

I could never get this either. I mean fair enough if they are just phoning for a diverting chat but...

fryalot · 15/07/2008 19:33

oh, and franny... YANBU

in the slightest.

Poledra · 15/07/2008 20:17

Evening all
Had consultant appt this afternoon, so was 1cm dilated - woo bloody hoo - that would be the 2 hours of contractions between 3 and 5 am this morning then.
So, sent off home post sweep, booked for induction Thursday. No signs of sweep having any effect . And if dd2 asks up for the toilet one more time (and doesn't do anything) I am going to staplegun her to the bed by her PJs.

sweetkitty · 15/07/2008 20:59

Evening all quick update from me, first the birth story: went to bed as usual last night, had a few BHs in bed but then again thought nothing of it, went to sleep to be woken up by huge gush of water at 2.50am, told DP who bounced out of bed, we got the room ready and came downstairs, few really sore contractions later he phoned MWs and our childcare, favourite MW arrived 20 mins later, ran upstairs inbetween contractions and had a scary moment when they thought the gas and air tubing was broken. They got it sorted and started on the gas and air which was lovely for a bit, spent an eternity screaming and biting gas and air sorry had forgotten how bloody sore it was. Told MWs something had changed and they had a look and said the head was coming down, next thing pain stopped room spun around and I knew I was in transition. Felt the urge to push and her head was out before MWs could do anything, body followed shortly after, total time from waters breaking to baby out 1h 35m. Had lovely cuddle for a bit then had some gas and air to push placenta out. Then came the afterpains OMG how sore were they? Any multips get painkillers asap. DD1 came in and met her sister about 5, DD2 slept through everything until 8am. Both utterly delighted especially as she brought them presents. Second degree tear but didn't need stitches.

Pasted my birth story for you ladies, OK it was sore but so so so worth it, still can't believe she is here, keep the faith ladies will be checking in on you all, how's next for a baby?

FrannyandZooey · 15/07/2008 21:07

Butterfly! great stuff, congratulations, really good to hear your news

to people who said they have come on here to check up on me: that is really sweet of you
I genuinely feel touched when people on here remember or ask how I am and the support has been lovely
I think it feels different in RL because it is more intrusive, doesn't always come at a good time, and you have to give a response when you might not be feeling up to it
hard isn't it
I saved all my phone calls up till just now when I felt calmer and it was cooler
have tried to explain to my mother it is hard to have her phoning every day when there are so many other calls, but she just says she is worried
(about what?)
I feel evil but I am a bit cross because we talked it through and she totally admitted she rings because she gets a bit agitated and wants to hear things are ok. Then when she gets me she doesn't want to have a conversation, just says "ok bye" which doesn't exactly make you feel cared for
I wanted to say "so you are ringing every day for YOU. WHO is the one here who is pg and might need some thoughtfulness and kindness?"

oh I am so precious

F&Z - I so hated the "any sign" phonecalls I know people are just being kind but still!

Remember ladies I went to bed last night with no signs nothing feeling all down and miserable, now on top of the world, good luck to you all.

FrannyandZooey · 15/07/2008 21:23

yes that is good news kitty
