mine were nearly 2 weeks overdue Franny (13 days I think with no. 2?)

came out fine in the end

obviously it was more MASSIVE than I would have liked but

FrannyandZooey · 15/07/2008 10:12

don't I just ran the gauntlet of taking ds to nursery
I knew I was going to cry if anyone went on about it so I marched very rudely past about 6 parents all going "oh NO!"
and then tried not to blubber at the nursery staff who were harder to avoid

I'm just losing my nerve here
I don't see any reason why anyone should be induced unless they want to or unless the baby is in distress etc
but holding out and not doing it is another matter

lol @ 'oh no'

I looked humungous from about 5 months so I basically had four months of those sort of comments

e.g. "ooh a summer baby, how lovely!" "err no it's due in October"

etc

morningpaper · 15/07/2008 10:14

so what's your plan Fran? (or should I do the polite thing and read thread?)

I was deteremiend to wait until 14 days overdue and then submit to ... whatever

came at 13 days

from what I recall

Guadalupe · 15/07/2008 10:14

Franny - the longer a pregnancy goes on the easier the labour. That's a fact. Everyone knows that.

FrannyandZooey · 15/07/2008 10:15

I don't know
sorry

Everything will be ok

There are pros and cons to all of it

Either way you are going to have LOVELY BABY SOON

we are all right behind you

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/07/2008 10:21

Oh Franny, I wish I was there to soothe your brow and look after you. You sound thoroughly and totally pissed off.

You need to start believing in yourself and your baby. It seems like you can't see the wood through the tree's at the moment. I would recommend a bloody good cry.

You need to get rid of this negativity that is bringing you down.

Please cut this post for me and then paste it on my overdue thread that I will no doubt be starting in about 8 weeks!

I went so overdue that my farking midwife went on holiday and I got her deputy (was still about a gazillion times nicer than getting any old random person like I did in LOndon). I bumped into her at about 10 days over and she said 'oh my GOD I can't belive you're still here'. Which was nice

anyway, I was desperate to avoid induction again but had given up all hope, in the end I went into labour the night before the appoinmtent and turned up 5 cms dilated which was most satisfying. I strongly believe that in my case my body might have been hholding back as I was worried about my aged parents having to looki after DD - my sister arrivfed from the UK and I went into labour that night so she could do it - fabby.

You poor loves. I feel you pain, I really do, it's such a weird time, just teetering on the edge of teh unknown, knowing that it it MUST happen but not being able to imagine how

(teaching my grandmother to suck eggs in some cases though with most of you lot!)

i am incoherent
I have had a completely JOnah day with DD and her sodding ear infection
it's turned me into a gibbering wreck

I have been baking

springerspaniel · 15/07/2008 11:03

Franny - I feel just as miserable as you but for opposite reason. I think I probably do want to be induced. For some irrational reason, I feel like baby is so late because something is wrong. Worried about placenta failing maybe? Just doesn't feel natural (which, again, I realise is mental as lots of BH and baby moving normally last night.)

ER didn't help. Always makes me cry.

TigerFeet · 15/07/2008 11:06

Franny

Here is a mango for you, look, it is not in the least bit cunting. And see how it is sitting next to a luverly cuppa tea and a nice slice of Victoria Sponge.

Oh dear, a RL friend went overdue recently (lovely ds born about 10 days after EDD I think) and I rolled out the usual platitudes - "ooh you must be getting so fed up". I remember her fixed grin. She probably hates me now doesn't she?

springerspaniel · 15/07/2008 11:09

TigerFeet - she won't hate you now that she has baby. All will be forgiven.

We hate you for reminding us about anyone ever having a baby.

FrannyandZooey · 15/07/2008 11:10

springer I know what you mean
I am getting very anxious now
is the baby moving enough, is it moving in the same way, etc etc
I don't think I have the nerve to go much more overdue
but I really really don't want a medicalised birth
I am fucked aren't I

roll on the tea cakes and mango
when i pick ds up from nursery I am going to take him out for lunch somewhere nice
just trying to think where

OP posts:
springerspaniel · 15/07/2008 11:16

I picked up DS early from nursery yesterday as I knew I might be late today after sweep.

Was expecting the usual tired toddler/tired mummy nightmare combination but we surprised each other and has a nice time sitting in the garden. Was just what I needed to cheer me up.

Would suggest picnic but is chucking it down here.

Franny - I've sent you an email as I didn't want to post her details on here without her permission.
