i went to 42+1 before VBAC. had to cancel induction.

understand how you all feel.

stay warm, well hydrated, plan a treat for every day for next two weeks, massage from dh, lunch with good friend, swimming, cuddle time with dc, manicure, pedicure, indian head massage, watch hilarious comedies (laughing opens all orifices), eat regular but no huge sugar rushes, relax, dim lights in evening, sleep whenever you can...

get my drift?

most babies are born by around 41 wks but it's also normal to go past 42. Expectant Management can keep an eye on you, baby and placenta whislt you enjoy twilight of pg.

Stay strong!

it is the 'knowing what to do today ' that is bugging me
clean the house? again is one glaringly obvious proposition

or

eat?

FrannyandZooey · 12/07/2008 11:44

I am trying to get out for lunch but ds is sobbing and shouting in a corner
marvellous

FrannyandZooey - my midwife says you need to orgasm for the sex to make any difference, the sperm alone doesn't do it. Not sure if this is based on any sort of medical research. My BH only seem to be brought on by eating foods that give me indigestion - such as pineapple.

I too am in the eat or clean the house mode. Might get my sister to babysit tomorrow night and go see Hancock as figure it will contain many loud bits that might kick something off.

Have switched off my phone as I really can't take any more well meaning calls/texts form people who really should know better. I spent yesterday responding to them with a curt "when there's news, I'll let you know".

When will this baby come? [agonised wailing emoticon]

ButterflyMcQueen · 12/07/2008 13:26

pruners - i could do and that normally works for me - infact did bring on the bleed yesterday

however am back in scared mode and not actually acknowledging i am going to give birth.....

Fajita is a lovely name....but for a girl. Perhaps Enchilada? Chil for short?

I recommend breaking the washing machine or the tv.
You can guarantee the baby will arrive before the repair bod.

sweetkitty · 12/07/2008 13:48

Last time I had BHs during sex kind of puts you off.

Think it's a combination of an orgasm and the erm extra pressure on the cervix that is supposed to work wonders.

You could try DIY I have thought about it if it's just the orgasm thing.

I think I'm going to lie down for the rest of the day.

AllieBongo · 12/07/2008 14:06

I think this is the worst part of pregnancy. I truly feel for you all. I was overdue with both of mine. I think I was going to knee cap the next twat who said" oh you're still here then" No it's a figment of your imagination you fuck witt

fryalot · 12/07/2008 14:14

afternoon everyone.

so...

still here then?

(quickly)

AllieBongo · 12/07/2008 14:17

squonk, i'm only 18 weeks at the moment so your knees are safe at present.

AggiePanther · 12/07/2008 14:19

ooh scones. yum

Klaw · 12/07/2008 14:27

brings out her cinnamon & fruit scones for a taste test with Squonk's....

fondly remembers eating the ones I made at 9pm the night before when in labour at 42+1....

decides to make some in rl....

FrannyandZooey · 12/07/2008 14:45

well I can manage the sperm bit, and I can manage the orgasm bit, but not at the same time
the midwife said "at least it will be something pleasant to do"
errr NO actually it is painful and uncomfortable

anyway have been out for huge vast fab lunch
and you know the best bit
it was a classy place and NOBODY MENTIONED THE FACT I WAS PG AT ALL
not one wink nudge or hoot
even when I ordered enough food for a small medium sized army
lovely

Allie if you'd got your finger out and got pg 6 weeks earlier, we could have mooched and moaned about being overdue together in 16 weeks time

I bet your births are veeeery interessssting - DAvid Bellamy springs to mind.

EVERYBODY

What were your other births like? I'm juist being nosy really. Are you planning different types of birth this time around? Maybe if we go into gory details, it will kickstart something

AllieBongo · 12/07/2008 14:58

mama g, i was overdue by 2 weeks with my other 2. my due date is 12/12. I will not be expelling a baby on boxing day. I simply refuse.

fryalot · 12/07/2008 15:13

beat that klaw

FabioTheLiterateCat · 12/07/2008 15:21

[fat cat]

fryalot · 12/07/2008 15:23

fabio, have you been eating cake?

FabioTheLiterateCat · 12/07/2008 15:27

Can't...move...too...f.f..fattt

sweetkitty · 12/07/2008 15:32

mmm the thought of all the lovely cake in here

I'm hoping since I have had about a week of pre labour when the time comes my cervix will shoot open, one push and I will be all done in 15 minutes

MamaG · 12/07/2008 15:56

ALlie I went overdue with my other two as well - due on 30/10 and my birthday is on 15/11 - this area makes you go over until 14 days before inducing and I usually take aaaages to get going. Guess what I'll be doing on my farking birthday this year?!

fryalot · 12/07/2008 15:56

sweetkitty, you got one of these in your hospital bag? just in case?
