Starting a new thread and hope it will fill up in the next few weeks

I am a bit nervous starting this group as I am still SO early, only just testing positive this morning at 9DPO, ive taken 3 tests just to be sure. Hoping for a sticky bean, I am not a stranger to chemical pregnancies so really keeping everything crossed, its so nerve wracking!

I've gone off 'conception date' rather than LMP as I ovulate late, and for me, its more accurate - this brings me to due date 1st August 2026.

If others would like, I can start a Facebook group, maybe in a few weeks, I found the group sooo useful with my first little one! Let me know πŸ₯°

How is everyone? Any symptoms yet?

@Giraffemug30ahhh welcome, congratulations!!!

Have you told your partner yet? I waited a few days and surprised him with a card 'made by our little girl' it was a tree, with the tests stuck down on the bark, inside said, our family tree is growing! Took him a few minutes to notice the card on the table 🀣

I dont have many symptoms tbh which is making me a bit nervous, my due date based on my late ovulation is 1st august so im not that much ahead of you! A few others have the same due date as you im sure!

Yes I told my partner, I'd planned to surprise him but he was in the next door room 🀣 it's my Xmas party tonight so I wanted to know if I could drink 🀣

Like you I don't really have any symptoms so it doesn't feel real and yes I feel nervous right now, I don't want to get ahead of myself when it's such esrly days!

That's such a cute idea with the card, was your partner surprised?

Where in the country are you all? (Or elsewhere if not the Uk). My group with DS was very mixed but I’ve made some lovely friends who are near-ish. We’re in Coventry.

I'm in Norfolk

mummatara · 29/11/2025 20:30

I’m in Essex. 5 weeks tomorrow I keep getting nausea in the morning but it goes by lunchtime and I’m just exhausted by 7pm. I remember with previous ones nausea didn’t properly kick in until 6 ish weeks so this feels super early. I’m going to ring the EPU tomorrow and get them to book me in for a scan for week after next

Clarysjb · 29/11/2025 20:59

I’m outside of Manchester. 5+2 today and fatigue is getting worse, last week I just went to bed earlier than usual but past day or two I’ve had to sleep in the day to get through to 8pm bedtime! Does anyone else have a racing heart aswell? My watch has picked up my resting heart rate has increased 13bpm on average compared to pre pregnancy but I find feeling breathless and heart beating fast really distracting when trying to sleep.

No I haven’t even looked to be honest, my main thing will be hospitals that allow your partner to stay with you though. Was your partner allowed to stay with you at that hospital?

Are you north or south?

He was allowed until 8pm, although the ward was surprisingly quiet so they let him stay until around 10pm!

It had its benefits as it meant I had a pretty private ward with very little disturbance!

I'm North Yorkshire but close to the Lancashire border. About an hour from both Leeds and Manchester.

@Notmeagain24I'm quite excited but also keep having "What are we doing?!" thoughts every so often. Mainly when the children are all bouncing off the walls! Ours was also a 'we'll just try and see' conception and it happened on the first cycle, so I'm feeling a little blindsided. On the whole, I'm really excited, although bricking it about telling my Dad and work (start a new job on Monday, eek). How old are your other three?

Creepyoctopus · 30/11/2025 09:26

Hey guys sorry I’ve been a bit mia, I’ve been doing my Christmas shopping and wrapping 😭, regarding the group I really don’t know why it changed I got a notification and was confused, I’ve tried to change it back but its telling me it will change is 3 days πŸ₯΄ I’ll let you all know once its changed back

Hi all! First of all congratulations to all the new mamas, second I would like to join the thread.
I First tested positive yesterday morning, showed 1-2 weeks. Grabbed the lone clear blue still left over from my first pregnancy and it was still in date. Yesterday I did not test with first wee, so today I tested again with first wee as what prompted me to test were the symptoms and it is still appearing as 1-2 weeks. Judging by how I am feeling I thought maybe yesterday's test was showing a smaller period of time because I did not test with first wee but today has proven me wrong, it is indeed showing just 1-2 weeks.
I have one 14 month old and last time I had barely any symptoms through the whole of pregnancy and the nausea appeared only at end of 5 or beginning of 6 weeks and was gone by week 10 and I had just the sensation of retching, without actually vomiting and now I have this sensation what feels like an increasing amount by day and I am worried about what is coming later haha. (yikes)
I had been having this feeling for several days, some times in the evening, some times in the morning but now it is increasing in lenghth and intensity. I can't say I am surprised about this as they say no two pregnancies are ever the same and if last one was so asymptomatic then clearly this one could be the opposite.
I looked at the calendar and my due date would be 7th of August.
I am based in West Midlands.

Oh my goodness - I'm exactly the same about telling my dad and work too! I'm currently on a career break after my third (they are 7, 3 and 18 months). I was due to go back in September next year having agreed a career break with work... theyve already started to get in touch with me about what hours etc I want to do when I go back! I obviously haven't told them yet... I'm dreading it. I'm actually feeling a bit embarrassed. And my dad... well. He said a few months back 'don't have anymore, it'll ruin your life'. He's a grumpy old man - at best - anyway but it's funny how much dad's opinions matter. How old are yours?

Im also North West, about an hour outside of Manchester too but in the West Lancashire area.

Congrats to all the ladies just joined too.

BunnyWilliams · 30/11/2025 17:44

@Notmeagain24 Oh wow, so similar! Mine are 8, 5 and 3, although the 5 and 3 year old are about to turn 6 and 4 just after Christmas. We've got boy, boy, girl. I suspect this will be another boy!
I told one of my really close friends and her mum today and they were SO happy for us, and really positive. It made me feel a lot better. I was literally trembling!
I don't even know how best to go about telling work! I'm definitely going to wait until February at the very least. I'm just nervous about sickness starting soon, as I was super sick with HG in my previous pregnancies, and I'll not be able to let on that I'm feeling anything less than 100%.

Jojo1203 · 30/11/2025 17:48

Hi, I’m tentatively joining! Lovely seeing all your experiences & congratulations 😊
I am 6 weeks tomorrow (I think) so late July/aug DD, but not getting fixated on a date due to previous MC’s & this one is uncertain.
I only found out 6 days ago, after I had β€˜what I thought’ was my period, so assumed not pregnant. Then spotted randomly last week, so did a test out of curiosity & got a blazing positive!!
I then had a heavy bleed for 2 hours & assumed it was a MC.. so I did a test afterwards & still strong plus a 2-3 on CB.
did another test yesterday, and surprisingly got 3+ on CB .. so clearly my HCG isn’t dropping..
so I’m in complete limbo on what is going on!πŸ™ˆ
I have done an online referral for EPU, so hopefully I will get some answers this week coming🀞🏼
I am not getting too excited & was accepting that I was MCing, but then after my 3+ yesterday it’s just completely blown my mind!
obviously been Dr googling every possibility.. so we shall see🀞🏼
i already had a blighted ovum back in 2023 (didn’t realise until 11 weeks ) and that broke me.. but I have a beautiful 14mo DD now. So not getting too strung up on things..
we are just hoping to add one more bubba soonπŸ₯° x

i have 3 also about 2 years older than yours 10, 8 and 6 πŸ˜– I’m absolutely petrified @Notmeagain24i can also relate to the β€œwhat are we doing” I’ve been a feeling all over the place the past few days I don’t know how you both fount going from 2-3 but I found it so challenging once my youngest got to about 1/1.5

Wherestheteenguide · 30/11/2025 20:13

Can I join? Again, very tentatively as very early on. Due date of anywhere between 1-15 August. Can't quite believe it as there's a massive age gap with my other kids. I've also had two MC in the last 5 years so not expecting this one to stick around. It's hard because I can't quite enjoy it yet!

Hi everyone, I just got a positive pregnancy test which would give me an EDD of August 10! Feeling excited/slightly terrified. I have a 3 year old and 4.5 year old. Someone tell me this will all be okay?! 😭 Have never joined a group like this, so thought it might be time for a bit of solidarity and support.

Thank you so much for the kind words @BunnyWilliamsit truly means a lot to hear that. Just going to take it one day at a time and try not to β€œmap the stars” like I usually do. My husband is very excited so that helps! Not telling the girls until we get a scan in a few weeks time. Is this your 4th baby?
aplogies if I post at strange times- I live in Western Canada!

LoveYouHoneybear · 01/12/2025 00:28

@BunnyWilliamsjust read that this will be your 4th :) that’s so exciting, congratulations!!!

I suffered terrible nausea with my previous pregnancies… dreading it! Right now my only symptom is an elevated resting heart rate- does anyone else have this? I have a very anxious feeling and I’m not sleeping well! Did not have this symptom in previous pregnancies

Wishingandwaiting2453 · 01/12/2025 06:38

Sorry to be graphic but I don’t know how I’m going to get through work. Never have I been for a number 2 so many times in my life!! Literally what the hell. πŸ™ˆ

Notmeagain24 · 01/12/2025 06:54

@LoveYouHoneybear - it will be amazing! I second what Bunnywilliams says! My third made our family complete - I can't imagine the other two without her.

i am truly hoping I feel the same about number 4 - I hope we all do! @Creepyoctopus and @BunnyWilliams ! Hopefully this time next year we wonder why we were so panicky and going from 3 to 4 was a breeze and totally meant to be!

I found going from 1 to 2 the hardest BUT I agree with you, @Creepyoctopus , now my youngest is 1.5, the complexity of managing by 3.5 year old with her has gone through the roof. Hoping it's eased a bit by the time this one arrives. I'm trying to prepare myself to roll with the chaos. My main dread is still telling work - I'm probably gonna have to hand in my notice in reality I think. I don't think they're gonna be happy if take a career break for 4 years otherwise. Also dreading it being my 4th section but that's a different problem entirely and I have a scan to check scar tissue etc next week.

praying for less panics and more positivity this week.

@Wishingandwaiting2453 - I'm also feeling you haha

Sunnycrispwinterrobin · 01/12/2025 08:39
