Starting a new thread and hope it will fill up in the next few weeks

I am a bit nervous starting this group as I am still SO early, only just testing positive this morning at 9DPO, ive taken 3 tests just to be sure. Hoping for a sticky bean, I am not a stranger to chemical pregnancies so really keeping everything crossed, its so nerve wracking!

I've gone off 'conception date' rather than LMP as I ovulate late, and for me, its more accurate - this brings me to due date 1st August 2026.

If others would like, I can start a Facebook group, maybe in a few weeks, I found the group sooo useful with my first little one! Let me know πŸ₯°

How is everyone? Any symptoms yet?

@LoveYouHoneybear I'm on prochlorperazine, I asked about Xonvea but they don't do that one here.

I had cyclizine in my first pregnancy but it turned me into a bit of a zombie and didn't help nausea much. Prochlorperazine made me quite drowsy the first day or two but now it just takes the edge off enough that I can function.

Good luck with the GP tomorrow, let them know everything you've tried such as diet changes and don't take no for an answer because they can be a bit hesitant to prescribe sometimes.

And if they prescribe you something and it doesn't help, do go back and ask them to try something else. I wish I had with my first because the cyclizine didn't work for me personally (for lots of people they do work so don't be discouraged!)

LoveYouHoneybear · 18/12/2025 00:13

@JennyTigthank you! I had Cyclizine for my fist pregnancy and it did nothing. I will definitely advocate for myself, but luckily I have an amazing GP! Hoping to get something that works.

@givingitanothergo I really feel for you, pregnancy after loss is hard. I had three losses before conceiving my daughter (now 18 months old). To be completely honest I didn't allow myself to get excited or really believe that there was going to be a baby until the 20 week scan. Having said that, I did find reassurance in this website which shows how the chance of miscarriage decreases each day. It's not for everyone but I personally found it useful to focus on something which felt rationale/objective. Try to remember that not everyone gets a "dye stealer" - I didn't in my successful pregnancy - so fixating on that as proof of things going in the right direction might not actually make you feel better. xxx

My nausea stopped completely with my first at around 7/8 weeks, and then a week or so later came back really mild after having been quite severe. It really worried me.

He's 5 with unstoppable energy now!

Thank you! I had similar with my first aswell, it peaked at 6 weeks and dimmed down on 7 weeks, then came back for 1 or 2 occasions at 9 weeks but that was it. I got away very easily, I remember last time I was freaking out aswell, this time it came in much stronger, much earlier and week 6 is chill now.
I just can’t help but channel an overthinkers hotline.
Scan tomorrow morning it can’t come any sooner!

Thank you so much ! I’m sorry you had to go through this as well

my husband keeps reminding me we have 2 healthy boys so my body can do it again but all the trauma is still there for me πŸ₯² even losing a twin last pregnancy but still having 1 healthy baby (eventually, from positive test til birth was a very rocky one) I’m still on edge

Though I do feel a bit more relaxed today after yesterday’s test. This morning is the first time I haven’t tested since the when I got my first positive on the 3rd 😬 I don’t even feel the need to test so that’s nice as well. I do only have 3 cheapies left and a digital, hoping for a 3+ when I hit 6weeks on Monday (or I might do it Tuesday) but I know I shouldn’t really fixate on getting that either πŸ₯²

bigbaggyblue · 18/12/2025 18:54

Also really struggling with nausea, it’s allll day, no breaks and then retching at certain things, it’s making me really miserable! I tried cyclazine but didn’t find it helped so now I’ve promethazine, one before bed, took first one last night and so far hasn’t helped but GP said to give it 48 hours. If I feel this grim tomorrow I’m going to have to phone in sick over the weekend πŸ™

Hi all! Hope you don’t mind me joining. I found out I am pregnant with my 3rd Saturday night. I’m super early. I’m getting spotting and I’ve never had this much spotting with my toys boys. Wondered if anyone else has had this and everything been fine? Tested clear blue 1-2 Sunday, still 1-2 but would expect it to be. I did get one not pregnant clear blue Tuesday but then later Tuesday 1-2 and had some strong line son first response. Feel so anxious! Hate this bit xxxx

are you early on enough that maybe it’s just something from implantation bleeding?

Some people do get spotting and everything ends up being okay so don’t panic yet xx hopefully everything is alright 🀞

I had proper full on bleeding and an early loss of a twin in my last pregnancy and the baby we did have (though a rocky pregnancy) he was absolutely fine x

i don’t know how anyone stays zen and relaxed in early pregnancy i feel like i bounce from absolutely fine to on edge a lot!!!

Xur · 19/12/2025 11:47

Hi all,
so I had my private scan today morning. Baby is measuring 6W 2 days ( but 6w 4 days by LMP) which would make me due 12th of August. We have a strong heartbeat of 122bpm.
She pointed out I do have a subchorionic hematoma, however it's just 2cm she said which is classed as small and if I've not spotted so far it might not come loose and might just reabsorb. Was told to stay off exercise, heavy lifting and intercourse until 12 weeks.

I was whinging about lack of nausea the other day right, I should have just kept quiet because following that I had nausea yesterday at daytime and today morning it came on quite strong. I also have smell/taste aversion again. What they say-careful what you wish for.

wandatotherescue · 19/12/2025 11:58

@Xurcongratulations on your scan! That is so funny, I had my private scan this morning and also measuring 6W2days and I also have a small hematoma (1.7cm) - which had already been identified in hospital on Sunday when I went in following a bleed. We are 12th August due date twins ❀️ I feel bad that I was continuing my gyming and weights in the first few weeks, before I found out about the hematoma, obviously not doing anything now. I am awful at staying still and hate not exercising but totally worth it of course! It’s so special seeing the heartbeat isn’t it?!

Due date twins!
Last time I abstained from exercise till 12 weeks, even though I had no hematoma, but after 12W I started again and went till 38W twice a week!

wandatotherescue · 19/12/2025 12:05

@Xuryes makes sense, I was naive to be cracking on but first time so didn’t realise. Hope your nausea gets a bit better soon 🀞 mine is bearable but the insomnia is really getting to me!

Aquarius93 · 19/12/2025 12:10

I’m tentatively joining! Due date would be 28th August. I’m already expecting the comments around holding on for a September baby πŸ™„

I had a faint positive this morning, but testing early (period is not due until Sunday). I only tested as I have had so many symptoms, including the fact that I have been crying at everything and anything for over a week! (Usually with PMS I may get one emotional day).

@1sttimemummn Ive been having lots of spotting too - since Tuesday. I had the same when I was pregnant with my daughter which gives me some reassurance but I am just praying it stops soon!

givingitanothergo · 19/12/2025 12:19

@Xur @wandatotherescue great news on the scans ! so funny that you’re due date twins as well
I had a hematoma seen on the scan with my first baby but it just absorbed I guess because I never had any bleeding

Another one who has had a scan this morning πŸ₯° measuring 7w5d, due date 2nd august πŸ₯° feel so relieved, but absolutely shattered today and nausea is awful πŸ˜–

Ahhh congratulations @Sunnycrispwinterrobin @Xur and @wandatotherescue on your successful scans - what a relief to see that everything is progressing as it should be! I'm a bit torn about what to do re: early scans.

I booked a private early scan in my last pregnancy, and then brought it forward as I had some bleeding and was hoping for good news. It wasn't good news. And that scan was horrible. The technician wasn't very clear and didn't explain what she was seeing (or not seeing) very well and although we were half expecting it not to be good news, it was just not an ideal way to find out or be told and was very very confusing.

Since then I've had some blood tests done by the NHS fertility team who have said if I call EPAU they'll get me booked in for an early scan and may prescribe me progesterone if needed but I've been a bit scared/nervous to call. Largely I think I want to wait until I'm a little further along to have a bit more confidence in the longevity of this pregnancy and don't want to jinx anything by having a scan date booked in.

Is it worth me pushing for an NHS early scan? Or going private again but maybe try somewhere new?

Obviously, I'd love a scan if it's going to be positive and reassuring, but I'm terrified of having bad news again. I'm only 4w+4 today so it feels like still a LONG way to go before we're in scan territory!

Give it a couple of weeks then call them? as scary as it is it is so worth the reassurance if the help is there available for you

I’m not sure about other areas but mine here were not interested in seeing me until I was over 7 weeks in my last pregnancy.

I’m quite choosy with sonography services, long time ago I read somewhere that sonographers working private are not legally required to have a formal education in medicine or specifically sonography and they do not have to be professionally registered with a body of professionals. Dont quote me on that though because I’ve not double checked and I’m speaking from memory.
Obviously respectable practices will require their sonographers to be educated and possibly certified with a body, but I see that there are many places that sell this service very cheap and I just don’t have the confidence in it when I see a really cheap price. So in my last pregnancy I found a really good clinic for this which is 40 mins travel from me but the service is great. It’s pricey, today cost me Β£107.00 , but atleast I know I’m getting a good service.
I’d suggest reviewing your budget for a scan session and possibly investigate the best clinic for your budget in a reasonable distance.

Same here with the scan and due date! Also on the nausea, it's awful and relentless. I feel like a shadow of my usual self and it's making me feel down (even though I'm obviously also really happy if you get me!). I think I had this with my first and it was amazing how you forget how it felt to be constantly nauseous when it does go!!

Applewisp · 19/12/2025 18:49

Congrats! I’ve had a very faint positive slowly brightening for 3 days! It’s my first DE IVF FET after having failed to produce more than one egg for IVF four years ago. Took us this long to get out of debt for the IVF and go again. Of course we tried naturally all the time in between and with expensive fertility supplements, etc. So this positive test is a thrill πŸ’ But just crossing figures it holds on tight. Luck to all of you and especially to meeeeee πŸ€πŸ’žβ˜€οΈ

1sttimemummn · 19/12/2025 20:58

@Aquarius93 congratulations! I tested super early too , well a day before I was due on but I’m on 26 day cycles at the moment. It’s so stressful isn’t it! Praying everything is on for us. I have blood every time I wipe when I go to the toilet today and have had a pad in too with a little bit on it 😣 I hate just not knowing!! Desperate to get 2-3 weeks on a clear blue haha I’m spending so much money on them! I’ve only ever had a tiny amount of spotting before and later than this. Hopefully everything is ok for us both! Xxx

1sttimemummn · 19/12/2025 21:02

@givingitanothergo im so sorry πŸ«‚ that must have been very heartbreaking and a stressful time / pregnancy. I did think that at first but it’s heavier today and every time I wipe but not like period heavy?! I’ve never had this before. I did have a bad prolapse last time so I’m wondering if it could be related to that. No idea, trying to stay a spoaitve but also as realistic as possible. We go on holiday tomorrow so the timing is a bit of a pain 🫣 xxx

givingitanothergo · 20/12/2025 16:37

I’ve just had some brown coloured discharge when I wiped and my mind has automatically gone to a bad place 😭

ByEdgyZebra · 20/12/2025 18:46

Hi all! Got two extremely faint positive tests, on days 11,12 PO and one digital positive on day 13 PO
Super early, but would have a due date of 29th August πŸ™

CJade1993 · 20/12/2025 19:12

Hi all,

I've never used this before so apologies if I say anything I shouldn't.

I suffered a loss in December 2024 after I PPROM'd at 16 weeks 5 days and delivered at 19 weeks 5 days.

In July of this year my ultrasound showed focal adenomyosis. Still awaiting to see a gynaecologist, had no treatment.

On the 8th of December I found out I was pregnant again. I've had spotting since then with a three day break. I've also had three blood tests so far HCG has been:

10/12 - 220.2
12/12 - 583.3
19/12 - 8304

Also on 19/12 had a private scan. They couldn’t locate any sac but my lining was 2.1cm thick and they could see cysts (making it difficult to distinguish the sac)

Could I be to early in my pregnancy? LMP 7/11 so works out to be 6 weeks 1 day today.

I have another GP appointment and a scan on 24/12 and will try and get another HCG but just wondered what are other people thoughts or experiences. I'm in the UK.

Thank you x
