Hey, anyone else due July 2026? I got my first faint positive at 10dpo on Thursday 23rd October, I’m now 14dpo/4 weeks pregnant. Feeling nervous as still very early my period was due tomorrow. I’ve booked an early scan for in a few weeks so hopefully everything is all good, now just an anxious wait

Has anyone had any nice ideas for festive treats to enjoy while in the throes of first trimester? It'll be my first booze free Christmas as an adult so thinking about getting some fancy soft drinks in and maybe some posher chocolates...

I intend to eat an entire baked Camembert at some point, plus bread/carrots/assorted cheese vehicles.

i know it’s on the banned list but smoked salmon is still happening for my Christmas.

also really finding sherbet sweets taste amazing atm like flying saucers.

M&S Cornish crunch is like my fav thing at Christmas! It’s a cheese dip thing but it’s all cheddar so we can eat it. I hope I’m feeling better on Christmas Eve/day or else I’ll be having a cheeseboard minus the cheese, chutneys and just plain crackers šŸ˜‚

I can recommend Pentire ā€œspiritsā€ for a non-alcoholic but grown up feeling drink, they had a good Black Friday deal on so have stocked up and they are delicious. Mother Root is also good if you like ginger - less so if you don’t! šŸ˜…

@Andrasa i read recently that smoked salmon is okay if it has been frozen for 4 days, and apparently most supermarket stuff will have been commercially frozen. It’s not mentioned on the NHS website but was in my midwife book… I’m thinking I may treat myself at Christmas as give it a miss after that.

Hi ladies,
Had my 12 week scan date through today… first day back after Christmas typically lol!

on another (possibly TMI) note, has anybody found their discharge is sooo heavy? No odd colours or smells but feels so damp all the time

Yes, I worry I’ve wet myself sometimes! Haha

Yes!! Some days worse than others but its so much!

Betty208 · 10/12/2025 18:02

Oh thank goodness it’s not just me… I definitely don’t remember this with my first lol

Is anyone else really struggling in their first trimester? I honestly feel like this is the hardest out of the three trimesters

Yep really struggling, feel like I can't remember how to function like a normal human!

I found the first trimester the more difficult trimester in my last pregnancy too, (and my third trimester wasn't a breeze as I had heartburn, PGP, sciatica and two weeks overdue!)

Bring on the second trimester I say!

Juicytoot287 · 10/12/2025 20:21

I am SO ready to be second trimester.

i can’t remember what it feels like to not feel awful at this stage. Either tired, sick or both. Feel like a shadow of myself - and the over emotional tops it off hahaha

EL27 · 10/12/2025 20:21

I had my first scan today at 10 weeks. Was going to wait until NHS one but it's not until I'm 13+3 in the new year.

So amazing to see the baby! Measuring correctly, strong heartbeat and could even see it kicking it's little limbs 🄹. Feel more relieved now and may tell close family this weekend!

I also forgot how uncomfortable it is to have a full bladder and someone pushing down on it šŸ˜‚

Also a reminder ladies to do your pelvic floor exercises! I didn't do many in my last pregnancy and regret it as I definitely notice my pelvic floor isn't as strong as before 🫣🄲

Doodlestar · 10/12/2025 20:24

I'm finding this pregnancy so much worse so far than my first. The queasy feeling is just horrible. Fingers crossed it does only last the first trimester, that's all I can say!

Kirsty198511 · 10/12/2025 21:12

Hello, hope it’s ok to jump on this thread. I’m due on the 1st of July with my third baby. I’ve got two older children (10 and 13), so it feels a bit like starting again!

I had a miscarriage in February which was really tough, but I’m currently 11 weeks and feeling cautiously hopeful. I had a scan at 7 weeks and everything looked good. My 12-week scan is next week — I’m a bundle of nerves but mostly excited now.

Looking forward to chatting with others due around the same time x

I can very much relate!

My worst weeks were circa 6/7 with some respite at 8 and worse again at 9 weeks. I’m now in week 10 and it’s a real mixed bag. Less intense nausea but always there, more dry retching which feels cruel as never any respite, struggling to brush my teeth without gagging, still super fatigued (most days I need to nap to survive), changing cravings / aversions, a general feeling of being hungover 24/7, boobs not quite as sore (they grew early on so I think now have calmed down a bit), needing to wee all the time (don’t remember the last time I didn’t get up 2+ times in the night to pee), insomnia waking me at circa 5am most days, emotions all over the shop, randomly dry nipples recently, even more random occasional shooting pains and cramps in my back / down there… shadow of myself indeed!

any more for any more?!?!

PolarJadeite · 11/12/2025 11:56

@nekophoenixrelate to all of the things you said. Am 8+2 and the hungover feeling is so real.

I had a dating scan last week to check my rough dates so my 12 week scan will be in Jan, but I'm desperate to see the baby is ok before xmas. We're planning on telling people then because it'll be very obvious as I'm usually a cheeseboard and pate fiend (can get away with refusing alcohol), but had a MMC previously so a bit worried we will tell everyone then the same thing will happen. £70 for a scan before xmas isn't ideal though!

Juicytoot287 · 11/12/2025 12:15

The scans have gotten so expensive!

I am lucky enough to be 12 weeks next week, and my scan is next week too so hopefully I’ll feel happy enough telling people after this. I can’t believe we started messaging over 6 weeks ago!

TC2023 · 11/12/2025 12:18

Anyone else getting headaches around 8/9 weeks? Any advice on helping with them? I don't know if i want to take paracetamol.

SoftLaunch · 11/12/2025 12:45

@TC2023 it might be dehydration? You need quite a bit more water than normal when pregnant and I definitely get a sore head when I've not drank enough.

Absolutely second drinking more water, paracetamol is safe in pregnancy so if you were finding it particularly bad then you can take it. Even if you started with 1 to see if that took the edge off.

Definitely, I hate the first trimester! Feel sick 24/7, can’t feel baby movements yet, super anxious, always exhausted, bloated… it’s the worst stage of pregnancy for sure!

Limmers14 · 11/12/2025 13:12

We’ve just been discharged from our IVF clinic!!

Had our 9 week scan today and baby is measuring 1 inch (which is insane) and we got to see the heartbeat and then it started moving its little arms and legs around! It was surprisingly active! It feels weird to be out from under the care of the IVF clinic but wow, can’t believe we’ve got a healthy pregnancy and we’re on track. Going to tell my family this weekend 😊

Clarysjb · 11/12/2025 14:08

I’m 7 weeks now and I am just totally exhausted today. Booked a half week at work so thankfully I’m off and then only 4 days next week (and private scan day!!) then off for Christmas thankfully. So excited for two weeks of being either on the sofa or in bed šŸ˜‚

bellaflower · 11/12/2025 14:18

Sorry for the radio silence on here. We had a private scan yesterday and was feeling anxious about it so avoided this chatted.
happy to say all good at 7 weeks. Saw the heart flickering.

Kirsty198511 · 11/12/2025 16:00

It’s so nice to find a thread where everyone is due around the same time! I’m due 1st July with my 3rd. I have two older children who are 10 & 13. This week has been my worst week with sickness - apart from low energy levels I feel I’ve got off with it lightly so far! 12 week scan next week. I hope all your pregnancies are going well x
