Hey, anyone else due July 2026? I got my first faint positive at 10dpo on Thursday 23rd October, I’m now 14dpo/4 weeks pregnant. Feeling nervous as still very early my period was due tomorrow. I’ve booked an early scan for in a few weeks so hopefully everything is all good, now just an anxious wait

Is anyone else feeling quite anxious about telling work? I had planned to tell them in the New Year all being well but I have a few F2F meetings in the next few weeks that I can’t get out of and I’m really struggling with sickness and tiredness (and look about 5 months already) so I think I’m going to tell them. I have a viability scan next week at 8 weeks so I’ll wait for that first. I only started this job 6 months ago and feel bad dropping the pregnancy bomb!

I was thinking this! I’m 100% office based unfortunately and can’t get away from the germs…I’ve got my booking appointment in a few weeks so will be asking for the vaccine!!

I asked for the flu jab at my appointment this week and they recommended waiting until past week 12 and past the most delicate stage of pregnancy.

Strange, I had my booking in at the hospital so the vaccine woman was literally standing at reception grabbing anyone who looked like they might say yes, nobody mentioned anything to me about waiting. I guess maybe because flu season is now and waiting another month makes it less useful

SummerSolstice25 · 26/11/2025 12:48

@blossomhoney2 had it been any other time of year I’d have likely waited until 12 weeks myself but the risks of getting the flu vs the risk (apparently none) of getting the vaccine pushed me to just get it done. It’s all
over the HSE and NHS website that it’s safe at any point in pregnancy and the nurse administering it to me reiterated that. When I went to register with my GP she basically siad to get it asap and my consultant said the same. I made a point of asking them despite reading the advice on the HSE website as I overthink every decision regarding my pregnancy!

Wow I’ve clearly been told the wrong info! Will ask again when I go for my nipt test in a couple of weeks- thanks :)

This has prompted me to look at getting my flu jab booked in šŸ˜…I'm lucky that I work from home most of the time but there is so much going around at the moment. I'm currently waiting on hearing about booking in my first appointment with a midwife! I felt quite energetic earlier, but I am suddenly so tired, I could really do with a lie down šŸ˜‚

Clarysjb · 26/11/2025 13:46

Got my flu jab booked for 3:30 today guys, easily done through NHS app.

waitingforourmiracle · 26/11/2025 14:24

Hey everyone, I'm very cautiously joining this thread! I'm 5w5d today through IVF, I've had 2 previous early miscarriages prior so super anxious, I've got my clinic scan booked for the 5th December! I've had HCG bloods done what were on the lower end but they did double so I've got absolutely everything crossed for a healthy pregnancy! šŸ’›

I’m in contact with dozens of people daily, and they all seem to be spluttering today. As for your earlier post on cramps, I had a really strong one around 4 or 5 weeks that woke me up in the middle of the night. I’ve had cramps since on and off but none as intense as that was. I imagine it was something to do with implantation.

Haha the level of tiredness already is incredible!! I am not looking forward to the next few months šŸ˜‚I used to get home and get straight on with walking the dog, laundry, cooking and now I need to sit down with a cuppa before I can do anything šŸ˜‚ after lunch my energy just plummets!

Juicytoot287 · 26/11/2025 17:37

Food aversions - YES

I can’t look in the fridge- anything tomato y . I can rarely cook to be honest. It’s not good right now in this household! It’s so heightened the smell of fish lingered in the kitchen at work so I couldn’t eat lunch and had to run off so no one could tell I was gagging.

SoftLaunch · 26/11/2025 18:10

I'm just over six weeks now and symptoms haven't hit too hard yet. A little bit of nausea creeping in and tiredness but nothing like the levels I remember from last time around. Though, saying that, I did nap for all of baby no.1s two hour nap today!

We'll be booking a scan for Dec too, just to get that extra reassurance going into Christmas. I'm swithering between getting one as early as possible so that we can just crack on with telling people and holding out as long as possible so that we can hopefully see that little bit more.

It's only just hitting home that I'll be parenting a little person when heavily pregnant and while I'm not feeling guilty about that (yet) I am thinking that we might have to be a bit tactical with building skills and getting into good routines ahead of time if I'm not going to be able to so easily get down on the floor or carry them around.

Hi everyone - 6 weeks 4 days and going to have a viability scan in an hours time due to spotting and cramping. Really nervous, had a twin MMC before having my son. Also feeling super nauseous and out of it taking anti sickness meds atm

How did you get on? šŸ’•

Limmers14 · 26/11/2025 23:57

Congratulations @waitingforourmiracle, I remember your username from the IVF threads!

I’ve also just booked my flu vaccine. Definitely don’t want to be getting ill!

I have a question for you ladies.

We are booked to go to Majorca next week, however, I find travelling and being away quite stressful and it can make me really anxious (I'm audhd and also prone to fainting when really anxious) I said to my husband that I was nervous about it. I don't quite understand why, I know that it'll be a great time but my brain and body just go straight into big stress mode.

My husband suggested cancelling the holiday and that he would support whatever decision

I know the stress would be bad and I don't want it to affect the pregnancy, especially after not getting pregnant for 6 years, but is that a bit silly to cancel a holiday because it would be stressful for me?

I've been looking forward to a break but also it really puts me on edge

YellowFlowers1 · 27/11/2025 09:20

Morning all, Iv not been very active but Iv been reading through all your comments. I’m so sorry to all you ladies who have experienced a loss, or who are currently in limbo. Iv been there before, it’s awful. Sending love to you all. I’m just waiting for my viability scan (due to pre existing diabetes). I’m 7 weeks today, praying it goes well.

I had a similar situation this week, not abroad but we had a UK based holiday planned. We decided not to go due to feeling anxious and my fatigued had really started. I knew the travelling would probably push my body and in general I'd be run down. And I'm glad I decided to not go as my symptoms kicked in a bit more this week, so I've been able to just go slow and look after myself. Everyone's different but I found not going away has been helpful to my anxiety at this stage xx

88claire · 27/11/2025 10:22

After the most tense 2 weeks I had my 7.5 week scan today. Baby with a heartbeat. I burst into tears! Baby is measuring a couple of days ahead. I've been put on progesterone which I'm going to collect now. Unfortunately there's another small subchorionic haematoma but it doesn't need monitoring apparently. Phew. I was looking forward to that bottle of wine - better scratch that šŸ˜‚

Go on holiday. They become a lot harder to do once the babies arrive.

waitingforourmiracle · 27/11/2025 11:18

@Limmers14 hey I remember your name too! Love that we both made it off the infertility thread šŸ’œ
When did everyone's nausea kick in? I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and I've felt it the last couple of days, not to the point where I'm going to be sick but it's slightly lingering!
@88claire aw amazing!!
@souiii I'd personally go and try relax once you're there, the build up to things is always way worse in our heads!

Lgn90 · 27/11/2025 11:24

@waitingforourmiracle congratulations to you and everyone new on this thread! With my DS (who is 2) my nausea kicked in at 6 weeks exactly (I was never actually sick but just felt nauseous and soo tired up til week 11). I'm 8 weeks today with this pregnancy and it's been much more sporadic - usually I feel absolutely fine in the mornings and then quite off in the afternoon. Went to a work lunch yesterday and they served big mixed meat grill platters and I couldn't stand the sight of it and just nibbled on plain rice! With my DS between weeks 7-11 I couldn't eat any meat, fish, eggs or vegetables (no wonder I was iron deficient) but I have been manging some of those things so far this time.

I agree with this, @souiii. I don't have direct experience of the type of anxiety you are struggling with, but I wonder if there are plans or steps you can take to make the holiday as chill and comfortable as possible for you. Book a massage for while you are there, take the pressure off to sightsee/do activities, and just get the time together and to relax. Take some nice ginger/mint teabags with you in case of nausea. Etc. It would be a real shame to miss out!

Fainting isn't ideal of course (understatement!!) but I'd imagine it isn't as much of a specific risk in early pregnancy as it would be later on when you have a bump that could be damaged from a fall, in case that helps ease your worry about potential consequences/risks.

However, you need to be comfortable with your decision and it sounds like your partner is happy with either option, so hopefully that helps you get to the right decision guilt free!

Andrasa · 27/11/2025 12:07

Hm, urine test from booking in came back and my blood in urine is really high! Anyone else had this? I’ve had a couple utis in my life but only one bad one due to being over Christmas/then resistant to the antibiotics so was very sick and probably hit my kidneys. Hoping it’s just dehydration from the food sickness I had instead.

Bumblebee413 · 27/11/2025 12:15

Made it to 5 weeks. I think my DH knows. We haven’t said anything but I got a wave of nausea this morning and was very obviously leant over by the sink with my forehead on the cool work surface. I imagine we’ll have the chat later šŸ˜‚My boobs aren’t remotely tender or big this time which they were both times with my elder two. I don’t know if that is a bad thing or not. It doesn’t feel super reassuring but I know there isn’t anything to do but watch and wait. I’m going to have a 22 month gap between this one and my youngest so a little nervous. Has anyone got similar? X

souiii · 27/11/2025 12:18

Thanks ladies, we decided to postpone it until after 12 weeks - we're still going to have a chill time next week but something a bit closer to home.
