Hey, anyone else due July 2026? I got my first faint positive at 10dpo on Thursday 23rd October, I’m now 14dpo/4 weeks pregnant. Feeling nervous as still very early my period was due tomorrow. I’ve booked an early scan for in a few weeks so hopefully everything is all good, now just an anxious wait

@Clarysjb I don't remember bloods at booking from first time round (could be wrong!).

I do remember my booking appt being very strange, just a lot of questions, the midwofe was a bit odd and giggly and the first thing she asked was "have you ever been in the army" - what?! Thankfully I didn't see her at any future appts! But the questions could definitely have been done by phone anyway.

I've been thinking about how to advocate for myself more with midwife appts this time round as I had some disappointing experiences. So maybe along the same lines, when you do have your booking call you could try asking what to expect, will future appts be all in person, when and where do they do bloods etc? If that information would be helpful for you to know in advance?

Pregnancy was my first real experience of hospital /medical treatment beyond just the gp, and found it really noticable how all the appts and even scans etc were so routine for all the staff but for a first time mum it's all new and exciting and also stressful. I found that disconnect quite hard to deal with sometimes too.

@88clairei hope the week flies by for you. I imagine you’re fully consumed with it all and being a children community nurse surrounded by children must be a constant reminder.

sorry to hear your colleagues aren’t as supportive. Fingers crossed for good reassuring news at the scan in a weeks time.

Thankyou. A lot of my job is treating/monitoring jaundiced newborns so you can imagine not ideal after loss or even while pregnant!

I really hope the week goes quick. The nausea is definitely ramping up a bit so that's sort of reassuring!

None of my colleagues have kids yet (apart from the one on mat leave). I just don't think they know what to say and if this is loss number three it's very broken record. Were a small team so when someone goes off its a massive pain in the ass!

bellaflower · 20/11/2025 21:00

Oh wow, definitely surrounded by newborns. With my job, I thankfully take my mind off it somewhat. Plus I remember with my first, I would sneak away for a nap as I work from home.

I didnt have nausea last time, so wait and see game.

I think when people haven’t had similar circumstances it’s hard for them to fully comprehend what it’s like to be in your shoes. Plus being pregnant can feel so lonely too. You’re expected to carry on as normal but have all this change and anxiety happening at the same time.

Juicytoot287 · 21/11/2025 06:24

So sorry for all those anxious over loss. I’ve definitely decided to be positive until a reason not to be comes. I know MMC can happen but mostly there are symptoms of loss so without those, don’t panic until you need

i had my booking appt. And very similar to my first time - lots of questions and a urine sample. You use this to opt in to different tests. For example blood test when you have first scan.

I am taking my nausea meds the same as they make me very sleepy so only when the big waves come. Sometimes I’m too late and sick anyway but mostly it’s kept it at bay and I’ve been able to eat this week which has been amazing

Curiousrobin · 21/11/2025 07:35

The 2 times i've had bloods done at booking appointment. My booking appointment was around 10 weeks last time.

This is why I was confused mine was over the phone, it says online you should be given the choice for certain tests and take your height, weight and blood pressure etc. the long form that everyone is referencing I have to fill out beforehand whereas I would have liked to have asked some questions. It even says all the information about my antenatal care/scans/options for birth will be done via a group session so can’t even ask that in the booking appt.

Oh wow 8 months old. 2 under two for you.
my dd just turned 18 months.

Juicytoot287 · 21/11/2025 16:47

@Clarysjb a group session? What if you have more intimate details to share. That is bizarre to me

Juicytoot287 · 21/11/2025 16:51

Just got my 12 week scan through!!!
feels very real now haha and it’s before Xmas! Which is amazing as I hope all goes well and I am able to share the news Christmas Day

bellaflower · 21/11/2025 16:52

@Juicytoot287yay! When’s your estimated due date?

Juicytoot287 · 21/11/2025 16:53

@bellaflower 3rd July! I had my booking after 7weeks so it’s took the hospital this week to sort it, but they’ve done it quick! It’s on my app not by letter yet

Couldn’t think of anything worse than going to a group session, especially if you’re having your first baby. Will keep you guys updated when I go!

This is so weird, what if you wanted to keep it private? What if you saw someone you knew?

I didn’t even think of seeing someone! We haven’t told anybody and won’t be telling until Christmas so I would be so upset if news got around to my family and friends before then

Has anyone started any pregnancy vitamins? I was taking a whole host of stuff whilst ttc but they were general female vitamins with vitamin A and only 200mg of folic acid so want to get something better now. Seen pregnacare or proceive? Want something that’s only one tablet a day so easy on stomach 😊

I’ve got pregnacare - the one with the normal tablet and omega 3 tablet. It says safe for all stages! And recommended by midwives I believe

Almost the same as me 😊 LMP puts me at 29th July but I think I ovulated on CD18 which means my due date will be closer to the 2nd August (and I've never had a baby come before their due date!). Congratulations ā¤ļø

bellaflower · 21/11/2025 20:03

@Sunnycrispwinterrobin@BunnyWilliamssimilar dates with me. Lmp is 29th July, by ovulation it’s 28th July. Congrats to you both

Disgruntledpelicanlady · 21/11/2025 20:19

Unfortunate news for us today. Went for our 6 week private scan for some reassurance (no worrying symptoms just wanted to see how everything was before we told our toddler) and was immediately sent to hospital with an ectopic. Waiting game to see if we go for surgical or medical management but will obviously be dipping out of this thread.
I hope everyone else has a smooth pregnancy and enjoys every minute 😊 good luck for those lovely summer babies šŸŒž

Phoenix321 · 21/11/2025 20:57

So so similar, I also ovulate around cd18!
Ive created an august group on the pregnancy board feel free to join that too, I am going to dip in and out of both! Its still quiet over there but I think we're still early on in the month!

How are you both feeling? Do you have any symptoms? Im so nervous really hoping for a sticky bean!

Also for @bellaflower

Im so so sorry that's awful news, it must have been a shock. Im glad you caught the ectopic early but that doesn't make it any less devastating. Look after yourself 🩷

For anyone who isn't enjoying the large pills, I have been using 'naitre' they're little sachets rather than pills - I have a swallowing issue so prefer them. They are a little more pricy but seen good reviews, I also take omega 3 supplement alongside them.

TMI but is anyone else getting awful constipation or finding it hard to distinguish between a constipation cramp and gynae ctamp? I feel they are all so connected it's hard to tell! I'm on progesterone suppositories as well as big dose of ferrous fumarate (iron) and it's a lot!
