Hi, 2nd baby due 22 January

I feel constantly bloated, sporting a giant bloat scared work will already notice ....
Anyone else with uncomfortable bloat ....
I have no sickness with my previous one so not surprised I don't have it this time either! Just the bloat and tender breast plus extreme fatigue and can't stand for long....

Hope everyone is ok!

Hi,

I'm due the same date as you at the moment!
Also ridiculously bloated. This is my first and I really didn't expect this. A stranger last week asked about my pregnancy so it's fairly obvious (although I'm still hoping it's the travel bands that gave it away as I don't think the bump is quite that big).

I've had to buy maternity clothes and been wearing dresses for weeks as my normal clothes were uncomfortable.
We're seeing close family this weekend and planning to tell them straight away as I expect they'll notice otherwise.

Most people should in theory be polite and not say anything even if they notice until it's very obvious and I like to think most people are more oblivious so hopefully everything is ok with your work. Are you planning on telling them soon?

RealTealQueen · 03/07/2025 11:39

Just been for our 12-week scan. All looking good! Baby is measuring at 13+1 so we’ve been given a due date of Jan 8th. We then went to tell my family, who were delighted. It’s starting to feel a bit real now!

Moosey898 · 03/07/2025 12:49

All my symptoms are basically gone. I'm worried that it's over again 😭 I had 3 tiny, tiny spots of blood day before yesterday and it's got me so freaked out. This pregnancy thing is so stressful. How on earth do people not lose their mind!

We're due date twins! So yeah 13 weeks. It's all just so terrifying. My first trimester losses were bad enough, losing another one now would just break me I think.

Ive had that thought tbh like the further along you worry omg what if. But I try to just tell myself to stop being silly and push it away and try turn it into a positive. Losses really do ruin the experience. Sending you a hug xxx

Hello all, I’m terrible at keeping in touch but it’s lovely to see some scan pictures cropping up now. I think I’m 10+4 & have my 12 week scan on 17th. The nausea with this pregnancy has been so much worse than with my first, it’s really knocking me back, as well as the ridiculous bloating, tiredness, sore boobs, needing to pee more often, and digestion issues. It’s ever so glamorous isn’t it!? Doing all this with a crazy 10 month old on the go is a completely different ball game to being pregnant first time round.

Please, anyone further along than me that had terrible nausea in the first trimester, has it passed for you now?!

I had unbearable nausea all day, every day with lots of vomiting. I could barely do anything in the first trimester. I am now 14+5 and the all day nausea has gone. I do get the occasional vomiting some nights, but it’s so much better. I think I was just over 12 weeks when it eased up. So hopefully you won’t have far to go until you are feeling some relief 😊

Also well done on looking after a 10 month old while feeling like that!! That can not be easy 👏🏻💪🏻 x

Oh gosh that sounds awful, I’m so glad it’s passed for you now. It’s really quite unbelievable what we go through to be able to bring these tiny humans into the world. Is this your first? I’m still in shock that we’re here again so soon after our daughter, but it took the best part of a year to conceive her so we thought it would quite possibly take the same again… but we were incredibly lucky to conceive quickly this time. Anxious about a 17 month age gap but trying to hold on to the hope that it will be a positive experience for them growing up close in age 🤞🏼

Jadeypie · 04/07/2025 07:42

@Bakerbean oh wow hats off to you!! Must be so hard with a 10 month old!! I second all the horrendous sysmtoms haha but we march on i suppose.

My sickness has been the worst this time round too (ds 4 years) im 14+1 and even tho my neasua isn't as bad I do still vomit once a day but its definitely easier. As for the tiredness thats just the same. Im still waiting for the 2nd trimester glow up hahaha.

I think i genuinely forgot how hard pregnancy is and I feel guilty moaning about it because how long its took us to get here but God its rough haha xx

No I have 2 boys already…they will be 15 and 13 when baby arrives 🤣 so a huge gap for me! I am anxious about having a small baby again.

Don’t let anyone worry you about the close gap. I only ever have positive things to say about it. I found a small gap lovely. I actually loved it and miss them being small. They always had a friend in each other and when Covid hit they were closer than ever 😊 of course they bicker, but the good always outweighs that 😊

I hope your sickness passes quickly 🤞🏻

Moosey898 · 04/07/2025 11:38

I've been working an event for the last 3 days - 24k steps average per day, 14hrs yesterday and Wednesday. I am absolutely wiped! Was also sick again this morning (forgot to take a couple of my anti sickness pills when I was busy at the event) so clearly it's not all gone away 🤦

Off to the hospital today to get NIPT bloods taken.

Thankfully these long days are only twice a month or so 😅 banking money for the hope of maternity leave!

So curve ball - I can't have the NIPT. It's based on the mother having 46XX chromosomes (i.e. 23 pairs, female). Originally I was told I could have NIPT because I have the right amount of chromosome with the cell line that has the balanced translocation, it's just a bit mixed up.

However, I am 45XX because on the OTHER cell line I have I have what's called a robertsonian translocation, where chromosomes 13 are stuck together. So basically the test would not be able to give me a proper result.

I'm a bit gutted - I was so hopeful that it would help reassure me that I haven't passed on trisomy 13. Now I have to wait and hope that the 16 week scan is all clear on the 28th x

Had my dating scan today which moved my EDD based on period up almost a week so due date is now 4th Jan (but with a planned section so likely to be a Christmas baby).

I forgot how relieving it is to see them on the screen especially when you’ve been pretty symptom free aside from a positive test and aching boobs.
