Hope you're all doing well and enjoying a tiny bit of a break from the heat this weekend, it's been relentless and possibly the hardest thing to manage the last 7.5 weeks!

Theo has been a dream baby - lots of sleepy time, naps in his cot (my DD never did!!) and he's a smiley, cooey boy. He's 10lbs 2oz (25th centile) and after all the worry about his size on the inside, he's actually on the 91st centile for length - the opposite of tiny!!

I just feel like I'm falling apart physically - my toddler DD landed on my scar site in the first week and it opened, landing me back in hospital. I'm having my worst ever eczema flare-up due to contact + heat and sweat during breastfeeding, and when it's 27+ degrees I'm scared to leave the house. I've got a bad back from lifting too much and I feel like I've constantly got one or both of my DCs hanging off me. When do we mums get any time to actually recover and reset? It's so hard!

BrightGoose · 05/07/2025 19:03

@LeBonBon aw I’m sorry you are going through so much ! Are u managing to get multivitamins and plenty of water and protein ? I have a a-z multivitamin with probiotics and it’s made me feel so much better !

Rainbowsunshine81 · 05/07/2025 20:46

@BrightGoose That's good, no constipation! It was horrible when Luca had it, felt really sorry for him. One thing I'm not looking forward to is him having his needles next week 😔

Rainbowsunshine81 · 05/07/2025 20:52

@LeBonBon it's so hard for us mums at times that's for sure! It's been nice to have relief from the heat this weekend. Trying to fit in having a shower and washing you hair, generally looking after yourself. I think we definitely forget what we've gone through and push ourselves too much.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 05/07/2025 21:29

How do you give infacol if I'm BF? He does take a bottle but rarely finishes it. Yes he is very farty and burpy. So could try it. The break in the weather is lovely!!

WildWhirlwind · 06/07/2025 16:25

Your comments have been so reassuring to read. Currently dealing with a lot of crying, so hard to see her get so upset!! Also coincides with partner coming home from work so he is down about coming home feeling like he can't do much. Hoping it doesn't last long. Again, major 👏🏼 to anyone doing this with toddlers or other children!

@LeBonBon that was my worst fear so I am ssoooo sorry that happened to you. Really hope you can manage some rest - can you?

SnakebitesandSambucas · 07/07/2025 13:17

Has anyone else had the comments about baby weight yet? I lost a ton. As I had HG so shrunk and loads of people have made remarks. 😒

SnakebitesandSambucas · 07/07/2025 13:18

My being worthy of a conversation increases the less I weigh! What a world eh 😮

SnakebitesandSambucas · 07/07/2025 13:20

@LeBonBon if your struggling emotionally please see your GP don't suffer alone. I'm on a low dose med and it helps take the edge off. Go easy on yourself x

microwoods · 07/07/2025 13:35

@LeBonBon I’m sorry to hear that you’re going through it atm! I never had eczema until I had my DD and suddenly it appeared all over my hands and eyelids. My hands were red raw! I ended up with steroid cream for my hands and using hydrocortisone on my eyelids. Thankfully it hasn’t flared to those extremes since having DS but it’s still on my hands a little. Did you have it before?

DS had his 7 week HV appointment today and he’s now 10lb 7oz (was 7lb 6oz at birth) so they’re happy with that. His head circumference is 91st centile which I’m surprised about tbh because it doesn’t look that big! Apparently it’s fine though 😂

BrightGoose · 07/07/2025 14:16

Aww growing lovely !

my gran asked me if I was still pregnant 3 weeks ago even though I was 9stone 5 at the time good old dementia 🙃, I’ve been working at my diet and tummy has finally gone down people have commented on how I’ve snapped back but the thing is I was loosing weight in pregnancy couldn’t eat and had HG so it isn’t I’ve snapped back I just popped and dropped 😂

BrightGoose · 07/07/2025 14:16

I cannot weight to get back to the gym though that is one thing driving me mad I want to run!

SnakebitesandSambucas · 07/07/2025 18:28

Not a runner myself. But I love the rowing machine and my dance class aqua aerobics!

Rainbowsunshine81 · 07/07/2025 22:30

@SnakebitesandSambucas you use the dropper and squeeze into their mouth just before feeding, I think it's definitely been helping Luca bring up his wind. Xx

BrightGoose · 08/07/2025 20:42

Why does my 7 week old poo like an old man honestly I’ve never seen a baby have such a funny poo face🤣 arnt they funny

Rainbowsunshine81 · 08/07/2025 23:03

@BrightGoose Luca pulls some corker faces when he does a poo then like a face of ah that's better! 😂

BrightGoose · 20/07/2025 09:32

How is everyone getting on?

SnakebitesandSambucas · 21/07/2025 18:12

Hanging on for the summer holidays!! Ugh. Jabs this week as they were cancelled last minute dreading them. Anyone going on holiday?

BrightGoose · 21/07/2025 19:59

We had jabs last week and all good just a day of being grumpy but other than that she was ok, we are starting a cows milk trail this week days 1 and all seems ok.

we are considering going in august, we have something booked for October but think we will change it to august. Our school holidays start Friday and I am looking forward to not having to do the school run 5 days a week

Rainbowsunshine81 · 22/07/2025 08:30

Luca had his first lot of needles two weeks ago and was unsettled for a couple of days after, has his second lot next week. We're going away for a couple of days to a park dean park in Wales not next week but the week after. Trying to plan some things over the break to get out of the house.

Rainbowsunshine81 · 22/07/2025 08:31

Girls, can I ask a personal question, have any of you thought of going on contraception again?

BrightGoose · 22/07/2025 09:29

I was sterilised when I had my section so don’t need to worry

yes my little ones want to visit library’s so that will be nice for them and suited to the rain lol

Poster57 · 22/07/2025 12:22

@Rainbowsunshine81 its tricky for me because I react really extremely to the hormones. Husband is going to get a vasectomy but I don’t think we’re ready to say go for it yet. We don’t want another but we’re not ready to make it permeant yet.

how have you all been mentally? I think I’m nearing a little something to help. I’m so happy with my new addition and little family so it’s frustrating!

SnakebitesandSambucas · 22/07/2025 13:10

His were delayed as appointment was cancelled so they are tomorrow. Yeah no school run but holiday clubs instead 😆. How was the 6 week check the receptionist was very pushy about it saying it was a legal requirement? Last time the doctor just said hello, then said are you ok. Then left! @Poster57 I've been having panic attacks and anxiety more. Woke up today and he was on his Belly and I honestly thought the worst. I'm in CAT therapy and peri natal service. He keeps rolling onto his side no most of the time!

SnakebitesandSambucas · 22/07/2025 13:12

Contraception is the baby lol. Can't even think about a shag ha ha even though their dad is getting very frustrated and annoyed. I don't react well to hormones either got option of tube thing but I have enough scar adhesions already so opted out. The coil is non hormonal isn't it?
