I’m so glad you’re all saying the same thing. We’re at 7 weeks (8 weeks Saturday but I honestly can’t say that out loud) and I feel like I’ve blinked. I’m almost beating myself up for blinking and missing it. I mean of course I haven’t - I’ve been there for the first few days cluster feeding trenches and just trying to survive the total lack of sleep and keep everyone ok, I’ve been there through it all but suddenly she’s focusing and her eyes follow me around, suddenly she’s an little fuller cheeked and her skin is clearer and I worry that I didn’t pay enough attention for the blur of days when she was so tiny and fresh and fragile. (As if she isn’t still..)

I do regret things like trying to keep on top of the house at times instead of just sitting cuddling her and leaving visitors to think what they like but really I think that’s pretty normal. I don’t think it matters what we do, it just goes so quickly

BrightGoose · 20/06/2025 07:10

We’ve been in and out hospital had multiple birthdays and I have had so much time just holding her and her sleeping and I also feel like I’ve just blinked n she’s a month old, life moves so fast it’s hard to enjoy it when your body hurts your breast leek and the crying is so new and uncomfortable but I said to my husband the other day I cannot remember it being so beautiful with the other two

SnakebitesandSambucas · 20/06/2025 13:24

I'm glad I took so many photos. But there is a lack of me and him together which is a shame. Does anyone else get cross and roll on their side? Yes it's a blur of food, feed and nappy! He's 5 weeks old today!

SnakebitesandSambucas · 20/06/2025 13:25

With the older two doing there activities and school I always know what day it is lol. But my little girl is struggling a bit as I've been unable to play as much. As recovery has been a bit slower due to existing surgeries

Rainbowsunshine81 · 22/06/2025 07:33

If I didn't put dates in my calendar I would forget.
Been trying to spend time with our other little boy well he's 9 at the end of the month. Trying to include him in helping with Luca, he likes to hold him etc.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 30/06/2025 14:42

Hey all how's everyone? Just got baby weighed he's 9.1lb Oz. Taking his time. Both my other 2 did two. He's turned into a vampire sleeping some of the day then partying at night 😬😀. Any good TV recommendations!

BrightGoose · 30/06/2025 18:20

Miley was only 8.9lbs on Friday.. I have just moved her to 5 ounces 5 times a day now she’s still on the allergy milk.

Miley is smiling now she is 6 weeks tomorrow she’s very alert when she is awake !

SnakebitesandSambucas · 30/06/2025 19:01

Hi @BrightGoose baby boy is 9lb 1oz he's a slow grower! But getting long! Very possety as well. Hope her tummy is better now! Yes he's smiling and holding his head up more amazing how much they change!

Rainbowsunshine81 · 01/07/2025 03:16

The health Visitor came out last week for the post birth visit and weighed Luca, he was 10 pounds 7 ounces. Won't see him now til about 10 months. He's been smiling and cooing, it's crazy how much they can change in a small amount of time isn't it. How's everyone finding it in this heat? We're sleeping downstairs tonight as it's quite warm upstairs in our house.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 01/07/2025 10:44

Ah yes the 6 week check. I've opened up the loft hatch and its made a little difference In the heat!

Rainbowsunshine81 · 02/07/2025 08:03

@SnakebitesandSambucas that's a good idea about opening the loft hatch! Will do that 👍

SnakebitesandSambucas · 03/07/2025 11:36

Baby is growing on the 9th centile height and weight. Plenty of dirty and wet nappies but they want me to do another fortnightly weigh in.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 03/07/2025 19:42

Ugh anyone else struggling with the school run. I'm normally ok but Thursdays are swimming as well and in this heat. Baby refuses to be put down. I did see a comment from another user won't post any details for privacy. But I hope your feeling better and I'm struggling as well x

Rainbowsunshine81 · 03/07/2025 23:13

@SnakebitesandSambucas I've found Luca likes to be held pretty much all the time, don't know if it's a growth spurt. It's warm in the swimming pools as well on top of this heat. X

BrightGoose · 04/07/2025 06:53

Anyone follow wonder weeks this is when they have their first leap… my little one is great all day til around 6-7pm and then completely looses it til we settle her again midnight/1am it’s so difficult just when I am trying to switch off it’s super difficult, I was running the shower and sitting next to it at 11:30pm I’m guessing it’s colic but I don’t know 🤷🏼‍♀️ any tips on breaking the cycle ?

she could sleep through an eathquake in the day yesterday all hell broke loose my nephew was screaming dog was barking my daughter was crying (all after school) and she just slept through it ! 7 o’clock hit and she’s just a different baby it’s so strange

SnakebitesandSambucas · 04/07/2025 08:16

Think they call it the witching hour or 3 in my case! Anyone else's partner keep falling asleep? While feeding or holding them. I used to be able to get an hour or two kip before 12pm. But now I can't as it's not safe.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 04/07/2025 08:17

@BrightGoose could you go for a walk in the sling / pram or car? No idea my eldest has the same manic period as well. Maybe stick the baby in the bath!

BrightGoose · 04/07/2025 11:07

I could some nights but my husband works a lot of evenings and isn’t in the house so I have to stay inside the house because the other two are in bed. I am going to start bathing her every night at 8pm and try settle her that way but I have tried that several times but she didn’t get the message 🤣 maybe it was a little to early, this is advice from the moms on call schedule.

BrightGoose · 04/07/2025 11:08

She is also 9lbs 5 today she is 6wk and 3 days old

microwoods · 04/07/2025 15:14

@BrightGoose DS tends to have a long afternoon nap until around 5/6 and then stays awake until 9/10pm. During that time he can get very whingy and doesn’t like to be put down at all! He’s on and off the boob and sometimes over feeds because of this and ends up throwing up. My DD never had such long wake windows at this stage and I think DS is a FOMO baby! X

SnakebitesandSambucas · 04/07/2025 15:36

Could you get a treadmill / walking pad only semi joking! I'm tempted to bounce on my exercise trampoline 😂. Never heard of wake windows that's interesting. Never know how long to sleep or stay awake at this age can't control it much. Yes baby is also very nosy shames it's at 11pm nightime.... 🫠

SnakebitesandSambucas · 04/07/2025 15:38

@microwoods mine plays rippy nipple when he's overtired as well. Plus the posseting he does it with a bottle of ebm as well. My oldest two were never this sicky!!

BrightGoose · 04/07/2025 17:01

I actually said to my husband I need a walking treadmill !

Miley isn’t sicky but I’m sure she has silent reflux I’m on and off the gaviscon can’t seem to see if it’s helping or hindering.
yes Miley has long wake windows when she’s actually awake makes up for all the sleeping.

Rainbowsunshine81 · 04/07/2025 22:21

We thought Luca has reflux, so got prescribed infant gaviscon, which then made him constipated so stopped that. Been giving him infacol which I think is helping.

BrightGoose · 05/07/2025 04:15

Yes I’m only giving one sachet a day and dentinox 2/3 times so far not constipated !!
