Mine has been sleeping in a 1.0 tog Tommee Tippee swaddle bag with the arms out (basically a sleeping bag) since day one. It's 0-3 months size and one of the few suitable from 7lbs as we knew he'd be on the small side. He wears just a babygrow and that - I think our room is on the warm side but he sleeps well in the next to me crib.

All babies are so different - we had the exact same kit and set up for DD, and it took months for us to wrestle her into it. Spent the first couple of weeks holding her as she slept and not getting a wink myself 🫠

Rainbowsunshine81 · 03/06/2025 23:33

We have Luca in a mamas and papas Lua bedside crib and when we first came home we used a purflo swaddle sleeping bag, then either the midwife or health Visitor was saying it's too early to use one of those, so we switched to using a cellular blanket and just a baby grow, but I've noticed he seems to kick the blanket off, so now I'm thinking do I go back to using the sleeping bag, in our room it's currently 21.6 other nights it's been 22.

I’ve been on strong antibiotics for mastitis which has given Miley really bad loose poos I can’t wait to stop them tomorrow so we can finally see what her poops are actually going to be like, Miley moves so much in the night she puts her head up against the cribs (day and night) and is so noisy I’ve never heard or seen anything like it 🤣

Rainbowsunshine81 · 04/06/2025 01:06

@BrightGoose Luca has started to make little noises now, little snuffles etc. Certainly keeps me awake 😴 😂

BrightGoose · 07/06/2025 15:45

How’s everyone doing I had to be readmitted and have a d and c for retained products, so annoying I’ve been in and out of hospital all week.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 07/06/2025 16:52

@BrightGoose oh shit. No infection I hope. What were you symptoms? I stopped bleeding then started again. Really annoying. I've been using a light gro bag. His weight is slowly gaining. My poor nipples get no break. Between pumping and feeding!!

Rainbowsunshine81 · 07/06/2025 17:08

@BrightGoose hope you're ok! I was bleeding after my c section, then it seemed to stop then when I stopped breastfeeding I started to bleed again, the midwife did say it could start and stop for about 6 weeks. Luca got weighed on Thursday and was 8lbs 15 ounces so pleased with that.
@SnakebitesandSambucas I don't know wether to try the sleeping bag with Luca again, been using a cellular blanket, he seems to kick it off during the night so don't know if that's disturbing him.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 07/06/2025 17:30

I don't know if it makes a difference sleep wise as mine doesn't really sleep until about 3am! He's still got night and day mixed up. Lucky he seems to want a half decent nap in the morning or I would be wrecked. Dreading the end of paternity leave !!

SnakebitesandSambucas · 07/06/2025 17:31

@Rainbowsunshine81 well done great weight gain!

BrightGoose · 07/06/2025 19:06

Lucky I was on such strong antibiotics for the mastitis it masked the infection in my womb, my bleeding just got really heavy and thick gloopy clotty just disgusting that’s how I knew it wasn’t right then they examined me and saw active bleeding so scanned me and that’s when they found it.

Miley is finally back at birth weight and feeding much better

SnakebitesandSambucas · 07/06/2025 21:36

I'm glad they took you seriously. Hopefully this will sort it out. Will they knock you out for the d&c? I can't imagine being awake for them. I've had numerous ones after misscarriges. I know it's not the same but still. So glad she's back to birth rate. I'm getting him weighed on Monday so hopefully he will be as well. He's feeding well and my boobs feel definitely heavier supply wise. But still feel more stressed about feeding never had it with my other two! He's keeping me on my toes for sure!

BrightGoose · 07/06/2025 23:38

Yeah Miley is different to my other two but they re different to each other too.

i had it done yesterday and I was asleep, they asked me if I wanted a spinal or under GA I said under GA no chance I was being awake!

Rainbowsunshine81 · 08/06/2025 08:02

@BrightGoose hope you're ok, and start to recover soon ❤️
@SnakebitesandSambucas boys do keep you on your toes, that's for sure! It's nice when you get them weighed ❤️

SnakebitesandSambucas · 08/06/2025 11:48

@BrightGoose glad it's all over now and yes a GA is much more pleasant. Yes their feeding style is a lot different. I'm so sick of pumping though I find it more draining than BF. It's interesting my little boy looks practically identical to my other 2 a perfect combination. It's quite scary how genetics are aren't they! @Rainbowsunshine81 tbh weighing is stressful but that's because I'm pumping and ebf so feeling the pressure as he's not quite up to birth rate. Feel like I'm going to have a panic attack each time. Fingers crossed I can avoid PND this time.

Rainbowsunshine81 · 08/06/2025 16:13

@SnakebitesandSambucas ah I'm sorry I shouldn't have put about them getting weighed was insensitive of me. I hope you are ok ❤️

SnakebitesandSambucas · 08/06/2025 17:08

@Rainbowsunshine81 don't be silly I'm happy for you! The weighing thing is a me issue. Everyone struggles with different things baby wise 🙂

Rainbowsunshine81 · 08/06/2025 17:36

@SnakebitesandSambucas I don't think you ever stop worrying when it comes to our little people 💗

SnakebitesandSambucas · 09/06/2025 11:25

Getting him weighed today at milk group 🤞🏻 it's good news!

Rainbowsunshine81 · 10/06/2025 00:43

@SnakebitesandSambucas how did you get on? Xx

SnakebitesandSambucas · 10/06/2025 12:19

Woo he's over his weight now. Going to discharged from midwife care today! So relieved I was really starting too feel like giving up lol 🥺. My confidence was not great

WildWhirlwind · 10/06/2025 12:56

@SnakebitesandSambucas happy for you!

Rainbowsunshine81 · 10/06/2025 15:47

@SnakebitesandSambucas that's wonderful! You're doing a wonderful job 😊 ❤️ xx

BrightGoose · 11/06/2025 19:11

Hey guys our rough ride has continued Miley has had chronic loose poos over 10 times a day and has become very uncomfortable with her tummy, they sent us to the hospital as the GP was concerned about her which resulted in us having to switch her to a hyper allogenic formula which has meant I have to stop breastfeeding. I am sad about having to stop but at the same time I cannot take much more of the rubbish that’s been thrown at us so I just want us both to be healthy, did anyone else stop breastfeeding cold turkey and how long did it take for your milk to reduce ?

SnakebitesandSambucas · 11/06/2025 19:58

Thanks @WildWhirlwind @Rainbowsunshine81 it's been tough but turning a corner. Still feeling sore sometimes after C-section but scar healing well.anyome know when I can get a massage!

SnakebitesandSambucas · 11/06/2025 20:01

@BrightGoose that's sounds bloody tough on both of you. Try to hand / pump express to ease the edge of a bit cold cabbage leaves ease the swelling. Don't do tight bras as you don't want to risk mastitis. I know my boys poos were horrendous after I had antibiotics.
