Hi guys,

if like me you’ve just got your BFP, then it’s likely you’re due in January too!
congratulations.

Feeling sad today as my sport of choice is figure skating and I was really looking forward to this summer as I was planning on increasing my training time. However, I realise today that while I could continue doing low level skills, the effort of travelling an hour each way and cost isn't worth it (and I'm soo tired 😫). Which also means cancelling my skate camp in August (though is more due to the cost and how little I could be able to do as I would be around 18 weeks pregnant), which I was looking forward to all year. Why do I have to love a sport that really isn't pregnancy friendly 😢 I have signed up for some fitness classes at the local leisure centre but it's not the same thing 😞

@BunMum26 ive been taking vitamin D, B12, magnesium and vitamin C in the same way as I did before pregnancy! Also taking folic acid of course but I don’t think there’s any issues. My GP in fact recommended it.

ah that’s great thanks, I stopped taking everything I was taking previously when I started taking the pregnancy vitamins, but I’m just worried the dose of Vit D is so low in comparison to what I was taking. Google suggests I don’t need high dose but I can take a high dose if I want, so I’m just in a bit of a quandary!

Be careful with vitamin D. My aunt was taking high dose and a multivitamin and ended up in hospital with vitamin D overdose. The consultant was surprised she hadn’t died.

I chased up the MW team after filling out the badgernotes referral thing about 3 weeks ago. I now not only have my booking appt scheduled for the 1st July, but they’ve confirmed I can go straight to the NIPT and the screening MWs called me to ask to phone them next week to arrange a scan so they know for certain when to do the NIPT 🥳. Feels like things are all falling into place, but I’ll be bricking it at the scan, as my previous experience of EPU scans have not been positive…(this time at least I think they’ll have more chance of seeing something, but now I’ll just be paranoid about MMC instead…)

Jadeypie · 13/06/2025 11:57

Finally had my booking appointment 🙌🏻 dating scan booked for 2nd July when im 14 weeks. Having my little white folder makes it feel real. Next is scan at half 2 xx

Is anyone feeling out of breath? If I walk for a bit or go up the stairs I feel like I need to sit down. I popped to the shop and had to go back to the car for a sit down. I can’t remember if I felt like this before (it’s been a long time time I’ve been pregnant).

newbaby3 · 13/06/2025 21:51

Thank you everyone for all of your comments. It all went well and measuring 7 weeks and 4 days. We saw a very small baby with a little heart beat. They gave me a little picture which was lovely too. It really put my mind at rest and will (tentatively) start to relax a little bit.

Awww love this update!! Now time to relax xx

My son was admitted into hospital on Wednesday and was, thankfully, discharged after surgery yesterday. He just stopped being able to walk on one leg and they found fluid on his hip which they had to take samples of. The samples have come back to say not an infection which is good news, doesnt give a definitive answer as to what's happened but hoping he will be walking without pain soon. But as soon as we got home I suddenly realised how shattered I was and went straight to bed. I'm 9 weeks exactly today, which is nice as I always like to read the next update in the 'pregnancy week by week' on the NHS website and Emmas diary. A grape now woohoo lol.

@WanderWalker yes I get out of breath easily too. It's a 5 min walk from the work car park to my office and by the time I get there I feel like I've done an hour at the gym 😂

Jadeypie · 14/06/2025 12:31

@ChickenLady37 sorry to hear about your son, Must of been worried to death!! Glad hes on the mend now and everything was okay.

I love reading them too. It just feels like one step closer doesn't it.

As for breathlessness im also the same some times I have to take a big deep breath OH always thinks im sying ha xx

WanderWalker · 14/06/2025 13:04

@ChickenLady37 so sorry to hear about your son. I hope he’s okay! X

glad to hear the breathlessness isn’t just happening to me. I was getting a bit worried. Then I thought maybe all the hybrid working has just made me incredibly unfit and I didn’t realise 🤣

Can anyone recommend anywhere to get some decent maternity/nursing bras from? For a bigger bust. Or just any specific ones you have used in the past that you would recommend. My boobs are already out of control and my wired bras are really starting to bother me, especially when I’m already breathless. Thanks in advance 😊

I’ve recently brought some maternity bras from baby go. I have a big bust as well. And they are very comfy!

Anyone struggling with these heat? 😩 to think I’m not even heavily pregnant yet and I’m struggling

behindthelight · 14/06/2025 19:27

I am too @Sunshinemoom!

I was heavily pregnant this time 5 years ago - it was a different kind of struggle.

The heat is making me feel more sick, I've had horrendous diarreah (tmi sorry!) And a headache I just can't shift!

I'm staying as relaxed and cool as I can - had a Netflix binge today lying next to the fan!

Yes the heat made my sickness worse. I’m just trying to drink as much as I can to help. I hope your headache goes.

it’s just started to chuck it down here so I’m hoping it brings the temps down tonight.

I’ve pulled out the portable aircon to help and go the fan blowing the other side of me. Also watching Netflix binge 😅

WanderWalker · 14/06/2025 20:43

@Sunshinemoom @behindthelight snap I am really struggling with the heat too. It’s making my sickness worse and also have terrible headache all day.

We moan all year about not having the sunshine, but now I’d take a bit of rain 🤣

Yeah we moan when we don’t have sun and moan when we do. I wouldn’t mind it if it wasn’t so muggy and humid
