Hi guys,

if like me you’ve just got your BFP, then it’s likely you’re due in January too!
congratulations.

Hi ladies, please can I tentatively join. I think I’m around 7 weeks with my second baby, although it feels a little too good to be true. We spent the best part of a year trying to conceive our daughter, and with our preference being not to have a huge age gap between her and the next one, we ‘stopped trying not to get pregnant’ and somehow managed to conceive within 2 months this time. Completely different experience and totally surprised.

Our daughter is only 9 months old and I run my own catering business, so I am absolutely shattered in these early weeks. I wasn’t going to join until after our first scan (early viability scan booked on 21st), but I’m just so tired I thought it might be nice to be able to vent a little bit amongst fellow pregnant ladies! Also wondering if anyone has any experience of close age gaps? All being well, we will have a 17 month gap, so it’s going to be chaos but I hope it pays off in years to come!

I haven’t been able to read through from the beginning of the thread, but I have seen that there has been some sad news in recent days so I’m sending a whole lot of love to you ladies, I’m so sorry xx

Bakerbean · 12/06/2025 10:23

I forgot to add that I think my due date is 31st January. I had gestational diabetes last time so was induced at 37 weeks, so I would imagine this one may come a little early too. Will update with the NHS due date if and when we get that far 🙏🏻

Moosey898 · 12/06/2025 11:43

Welcome @Bakerbean . I was hesitant to join due to previous loss but it is a really great place to vent and get advice! Hopefully it's a successful pregnancy for you 😊

It only feels like yesterday that I was part of the due September 2024 group, it’s totally bizarre!

What are everyone’s due dates/how far along are you? Has anyone caved and done an early gender reveal blood test?!

newbaby3 · 12/06/2025 16:48

@Jadeypiewhen is your scan?

I have had some bleeding (only very light and a light pink/brown) the last few days and have a scan booked tomorrow at the EPU to see what is going on. Feeling very nervous. I have been feeling so sick and tired and it’s been such a struggle at work, I think also due to the fact I’m going to take my maternity leave as early as possible and I’m almost certain I’m not returning.

SureLook · 11/06/2025 13:07

Hi girls. Unfortunately it was bad news at my scan again this morning. There was just an empty sac with no embryo or yolk sac. They've booked me in again for next week to confirm but I'm gonna ring my EPAU today to see if I can come in to get the ball rolling on the inevitable a bit earlier. I'm feeling more pissed off at the moment then sad. Some slight comfort that at least there wasn't a poor little baby in there this time. It's still so shit though!

So sorry to hear this @SureLook
I also had bad news today. No heartbeat. MMC. Also need to get the inevitable over with. Will ring the EPU tomorrow.
All the best to the January babies in the group. Wishing you all successful pregnancies. Xx

Thank you ladies for the nausea tips/sympathies!! It’s horrible, never had this in my successful pregnancy nor losses!

BunMum26 · 13/06/2025 07:28

Hi ladies, hope everyone is doing ok.

i went to see Robbie Williams this week and then yesterday felt really tired (even more exhausted than I have been!) and felt like I had really bad hayfever symptoms. It was only when my partner got home from work and told me I had a temperature that I realised it wasn’t hayfever and is the start of a cold/flu like thing. I didn’t sleep even a minute last night as I couldn’t breathe through my nose, my nose was dripping constantly, I had a raging headache and coughing constantly. I’m assuming I’ve picked something up at Robbie :(

my immune system is usually like steel so this is a complete shock to me, I’m wondering if it’s partly due to me cutting down vitamin D (I was taking high strength 4000iu pre pregnancy but dropped down to the normal lower dose in my prenatal vitamins). Does anyone know if it’s safe to take high dose Vit D during pregnancy? And anyone got any remedies to help me shift this cold/flu thing?

Ibe had a a horrible cough out the blue. I don't feel sick like flu wise but definitely sound it!

Im going to a concert Sunday and im dreading it because I know its going to wipe me out.

I would ask the pharmacy regarding the vitimins ive just gone to pregnancy Max ones and stopped other ones I was taking previously.

Hope the cold doesn't stick round too long xxx

I don’t think there is much medication to can take in pregnancy for that, but you could check with the pharmacy. A couple of things you could try to help get you through…hot honey and lemon, you can gargle with salt water if you have a sore throat, saline rinses to clear your nose. I think you can use Vicks vapour rub while pregnant, but I would just double check and just lots of rest and stay hydrated. Other than that I’m not sure what else, but others might have better advice 😊

Sorry I don’t know anything about the vitamin D side of things, but one of the other ladies might.

Get well soon and I hope you had a fab time at Robbie 😊
