Hi guys,

if like me you’ve just got your BFP, then it’s likely you’re due in January too!

@peps2917 just to add to everyone else's comments on the early scan. I've had two in the last week. They don't use a speculum it's just a wand type device, they even use condoms on them and add extra lubrication. It's no where near as uncomfortable as a smear test. The wand itself is fairly thin, internet says similar size to a regular tampon.

If it would be more comfortable you could ask if you can insert it yourself. But they will need to manoeuvre it around. Just to warn you both times I've had it done the sonographer was male. They were completely professional and I had my husband in the room as well which made me feel more comfortable. I have another in a couple weeks and I'm not at all worried about it. Feel free to ask any other questions about it as well, I'm happy to answer.

Good luck if you decide to go for the scan x

ChilliPeach · 28/05/2025 10:14

@Jadeypie it’s been really weird, some days I feel really positive and excited and some days I try not to let myself get excited because of how quickly the excitement faded when I had my early miscarriage.

I’ve had so many more symptoms this time though and I’m trying to stay positive!! Just can’t wait to see baby on a scan. That will be really reassuring.

How are you finding it? Has it been different to your first so far? Xx

Jadeypie · 28/05/2025 11:13

@ChilliPeach aww i get that I've had losses myself, I'm starting to ease into it alot more now tho and let myself think more positively.

Well that's a nice sign to have more symptoms. Do you have any scans booked? I had one at 5 weeks just to check and I've booked one for 2 weeks time.

Oh so much more different regarding morning sickness and food aversions. Also think I might have forgot abit because my ds is 4 hahs xx

RealTealQueen · 28/05/2025 11:19

Hi everyone. Hope it’s OK to join. I’m 7 weeks today. I’ve previously had two miscarriages and a chemical and I’m 40 so there’s a lot of fear and worry with this one! Went for an early scan the other day and all looked well for 6.5 weeks. I’m speaking to the GP on Friday to see if there’s anything more I can do to get this one to stick!

Thegirlhasnamechanged · 28/05/2025 11:31

8 weeks and the nausea has hit… as well as all the emotions which had me full on sobbing at my desk earlier this morning so it’s a good job I work from home.
never had anything resembling morning sickness with my previous pregnancies. Not sure if I’d prefer it to stay as nausea or to progress to actually being sick. Not a fan though!

Sunshinemoom · 28/05/2025 11:51

After keeping barely anything down for the last 14 hours the GP has prescribed me prochlorperazine to take on top of my cyclizine. Have been warned though if this doesn’t work I’m gonna be admitted to be on IV fluids.

im hoping it does the trick 🤞🏾

I’ve also had two MCs and a CP in the past three years (most recent MC in March) so I’m still in a state of disbelief about this one so far. I’m nearly 5 weeks and had a telephone appt with the GP last week, who said he’d refer me to gynae for progesterone, and I’ve also started baby aspirin.

Keewro · 28/05/2025 12:52

Hey,

I went for an early scan on Saturday, from dates I should have been roughly 6wk 5 days.
she could only see gestational sac with msd of 9mm, they referred me to EPU, I went there yesterday, sac has grown to msd 11.5mm and could see a yolk sac, so some progression over 3 days, but still so behind on dates, I have to go back in 2 week for another scan, well 2 week 4 days 😫.

im trying to be hopeful, but im sure my dates can’t be that wrong !

lmp 7/4/25 - first very faint positive 26/04/25 .

Oh I didn’t mention….. they think I’m around 5 week from what they could see…… however dr google says 11.5mm mean diameter of the gestational sac says 6 week.

ugh what a worry !!

Oh no this sounds awful!! And a nightmare and hears me moaning about mine. How many weeks are you know? I know going into hospital doesn't sound great but will make you feel abit better you must feel awful xx

Nothing wrong with moaning about yours. Nausea and sickness is rubbish regardless the level you are getting it at. Thankfully I didn’t have it this bad in my last pregnancy.

im 8 week 1 day. Yourself? Yeah I know it be rubbish to go but I would prefer it if it help me feel better xx

I’m hoping for some progesterone too as I’ve heard good things from people with a similar history. I can’t enjoy this one or look forward as I’m just constantly worrying I’ll MC again.

Moosey898 · 28/05/2025 13:43

@Sunshinemoom I had IV fluids twice after my miscarriage because I'd been so sick with morning sickness and it felt like a miracle. Not nice to have to go into the hospital but it will definitely help you feel better if you do need to go xx

Jadeypie · 28/05/2025 13:46

@Sunshinemoom would you say it's got progressively worse? I've heard 8-9 weeks it peaks. Im 8+2 or 8+5 and I feel like mines started to get worse abit.

Mines worse than my last pregnancy I have a son so I'm thinking maybe this is a girl because of the difference xx

So sorry to hear this, hopefully that's positive that there's been some growth though?🤞🤞🤞 sending you big hugs and positivity✨️✨️xxx

TigerLily38 · 28/05/2025 13:51

Thank you everyone who replied about the morning sickness- sounds like it just comes from nowhere! I feel less sick today and hoping it stays that way...🤣

On another note though I've had some brown spotting today, only very light and Google tells me it can be totally normal. Can't help but feel a little bit anxious though ☹️ I'm 5w4d today and had some light cramping yesterday, not as bad as period cramps but noticeable for a little bit. This early stage is literally so anxiety inducing😭 has anyone else had light spotting with this pregnancy? Xx

Yeah definitely been getting worse since I was 7 weeks. Had it since 5 and half weeks. So I’m expecting it to peak then hopefully drop off soon.

I hope it doesn’t get any worse for you. 🤞🏾🤞🏾 not far ahead of me then!

mine so much worse this time round and I had a boy before. So a lot of people have said they think girl this time around. Xx

Hi just to reassure you…I had brown spotting last week over 3 days and went into a panic. I had my midwife appointment this morning and she said it’s completely normal and nothing to worry about 😊 unless it’s red and comes with any pain then I would give them a call otherwise fairly normal x

peps2917 · 28/05/2025 14:30

@TigerLily38 I’ve had some creamy discharge today which on the pad looked a bit like light brown (I am wearing pads on the days I have black knickers on so I can check knickers for blood - paranoid!). I looked online and it says to only worry if it increased and if it comes with pain that intensifies, and if the blood turns red. I wouldn’t worry but perhaps contact your EPU to check if it makes you feel better? I had cramping last week at 4 weeks and when I called EPU they said it’s normal unless the pain becomes more intense. It’s gone now luckily. Cannot wait to be out of this first trimester!!!!

peps2917 · 28/05/2025 14:32

@TigerLily38 I am also 5 weeks and 4 days by the way!!

TigerLily38 · 28/05/2025 15:09

@WanderWalker that's so reassuring to know the midwife said it was all ok, thank you so much for replying! So glad all was OK for you 😊 it is so worrying isn't it!

@peps2917 ahh we are twinning😆 thank you for your reply, that's a good plan to wear a pad with dark underwear - I've been rapidly washing all of my light ones as I'm the same with wanting to check 🙈 I'm thinking if it continues tomorrow/Friday I might call the EPU just for peace of mind, but I'm not sure they'd do much at this point with it being so early and me not being in pain or anything (thankfully).

Early scan booked next week - cannot wait now to hopefully give me some reassurance 🤞 hope everyone is doing ok - I never anticipated how scary this part could be! X

TigerLily38 · 28/05/2025 16:01

Now got stretchy sort of discharge that's brown ☹️ not feeling great about it now x

SureLook · 28/05/2025 17:22

Welcome @RealTealQueen and congratulations ❤️ keep us posted about what the GP says.

@Thegirlhasnamechanged sorry to hear you're feeling unwell. Hopefully it won't last long.

@Sunshinemoom fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

@Keewro try not to worry too much. Baby is so tiny at this stage, they're hard to measure. Even a millimeter out can throw things off!

@TigerLily38 I haven't had spotting but it's so normal! And brown blood is just pld blood so I wouldn't worry!

Hi all, i just got my BFP today but Im only 4 months postpartum from DS1 who was an emergency section.. hoping to have a VBAC which would make me due around 1st feb but who knows they most likely may suggest early section which makes me due late jan ! Nice to
meet everyone ! (Weirdly had my first 27/01/2025) so its a crazy coincidence really!
