Hi guys,

if like me you’ve just got your BFP, then it’s likely you’re due in January too!
congratulations.

Sorry to everyone experiencing morning sickness ☹️ hope it passes for you all quickly!

Today is my first day feeling nauseous and hoping it passes🙈 people who have morning sickness - does it start gradually or do you just wake up one day and boom, there it is?👀

For me it just happened and went boom here it is 👀

Oh no! How are you feeling at the moment?

I've always had quite bad emetaphobia so I'm dreading this and hoping it doesn't get too bad (actually delayed ttc for so long due to my fears🙈). Next week I'm away with work, lots of travelling and presenting and I'm praying I get through that ok! Would be great if anyone have any advice - if you were feeling really crappy would you not go, or do you have any tips for going & getting through it? It's a really great opportunity, just might not be the best timing if I'm still feeling like I do today😬

Still really rough. I had my booking in appointment this morning midwife was great. I have been prescribed cylczine which is helping to an extent but not fully stopped the nausea.

fingers crossed it doesn’t for you 🤞🏾 I find lots of little more frequent meals helps, sickness bands, hard boiled sweets, chewing gum. Ice lollies seem to help as well.

@TigerLily38 from memory it just appears from no where. Currently waiting in dread.

I woke up 6 weeks exactly and boom it was there and hasn't gone away hahs. I'm 8 weeks now and the actual vomiting has started only once a day hoping it stays that way! Xx

I woke up with it one day and then every day/all day after that 🙃I’ve had it since about 5 weeks and still battling with it now at just over 8 weeks. Praying it does one by the 2nd trimester.

Hope everyone is okay! The 1st trimester is having my life 😫 x

Hello All! I would love to join. I’m due end of January 2026. Feeling absolutely fatigued now and got nauseas coming in waves but it’s manageable. Needing lots of naps! Taking one day at a time as I know this time is so delicate and anything could happen but it’s hard! Each week feels like a year. Got my first appt with midwife in a couple of weeks so looking forward to that. How’s everyone else feeling in terms of symptoms etc?

peps2917 · 27/05/2025 19:39

@SnoreyMushroom im also 35 with my first!! Difficult not to be anxious. Taking it one day at a time (it’s very hard!!) - I want to be able to be excited already!!

peps2917 · 27/05/2025 21:50

@SophR890 i was crampy last week and The pain was a dull ache but it’s gone away now at almost 6 weeks! I spoke with The EPU and they said it’s ligaments stretching.

SureLook · 27/05/2025 21:51

Welcome @peps2917 and congratulations! I'm not too bad symptom wise. Sore boobs and very very tired by the end of the day. Sleep is up and down too. The nerves and anxiety are up and down too cause I had an MMC in January.

lifebeginz · 27/05/2025 22:01

Sulymptoms have been a wild ride (and humbling experience) for me... the nausea is horrendous although I do luckily get the odd days reprieve here and there (today being one of them)

Not sure if this is correct place to ask or if I should start anew thread but today I noticed some thick discharge (similar to ovulation type discharge) and unsure if that is normal?? It threw me because it was so similar to what I get round about ovulation. Anyone advise??

Thank you, this is very reassuring xx

peps2917 · 27/05/2025 22:05

@SureLook oh im sorry to hear that. I can imagine it must cause an added layer of worry. It is difficult to let yourself just enjoy it - trying to live each day as it comes which is incredibly hard!! Constantly knicker checking…

Would you have a private scan? I’m thinking of doing the 8/9 week scan privately but I get worried about the intravaginal element as Ive had plenty of gyno procedures in the past (had lots or ovarian cysts) and I struggle to relax even on a smear test.

SureLook · 27/05/2025 22:18

@peps2917 thank you. I hope I'll relax eventually but I think I won't fully relax until baba is in my arms!
I've got a private scan booked for 7 weeks and I'm gonna book in for the NIPT as well. Have you had an intravaginal scan with your gyno procedures?

SureLook · 28/05/2025 06:12

@lifebeginz sorry, I missed your post last night. I've had ovulation type CM also since just before my BFP. I think it's just the rise in hormones. Don't worry!

ChilliPeach · 28/05/2025 07:49

I am currently at 5 weeks and have had faint crampy sensations and the odd little twinge which changes location every time. Sometimes if I make sudden movements I get more of a sharp one-off twinge. Does this all sound like things are just stretching and changing?!

I am finding it hard not to overthink these things after my miscarriage earlier this year…

peps2917 · 28/05/2025 07:54

@SureLook Not specifically no. Will you let me know what the private scan is like? I so want to do one but I’m scared it will feel uncomfortable and hurt. I tense up so much whenever any kind of speculum is going up there which makes it even more painful 😭😭Remind me how many weeks you are? I’m going to be 6 on Saturday.

The sharp pain sounds like round ligament pain! I thought it was too early for that but others have said the same

SureLook · 28/05/2025 08:17

@peps2917 I had a transvaginal scan with my MMC and honestly, it was absolutely fine. They said I might feel some pressure but all I could feel was the cold of the gel.
I've had a private scan before on my DD. I was 9+5. I was meant to go at 8 weeks but we had Covid. It was lovely seeing her!
I'm 5+2, I'll be 6 on Monday.

@ChilliPeach definitely just sounds lie round ligament pain. There's a lot going on in there!

Moosey898 · 28/05/2025 08:21

@peps2917 I must have had a dozen internal ultrasounds now. I find it a bit uncomfortable/weird feeling because they angle it inside to check the womb and ovaries, but it's not painful, so please don't worry xx

Yes it feels like all the growing and stretching is happening so fast! I feel so bloated and full all the time 🤣

The transvaginal scan I had with my first was totally fine, some pressure, a bit uncomfortable in some directions and cold gel but not painful. ☺️

100% all normal. I crnt sneeze without those pains they kill for a second then gone. Is this your 1st? It's my second so i think I'm going to show alot sooner this time round (I'm 8 weeks) xx

ChilliPeach · 28/05/2025 09:12

@Jadeypie yes oh my god the sneezing! Whenever I feel one coming I brace myself for some kind of sharp pull! Yes this would be my first so everything is new and I have no idea what to expect 🤣

Jadeypie · 28/05/2025 09:53

@ChilliPeach 🤣🤣 I'm the same! How are you finding it so far? Xx
