Hi!

Just thought i’d start a thread as I know a few of us have found out we are expecting! Would love to hear everyone’s stories to start us off as I know December feels soooo far away yet!

I’ll go first, I already have one child, he is 6 years old Totally did not plan to have anymore once me and his dad split, I was one and done. However, years on met my current other half and I just knew straight away I had a change of heart. We started trying 18 months ago with negatives every month, later finding out there was infertility on both our sides. We moved in together January this year after deciding we would give IVF a try once we were settled in new GPs etc, only to find out we were pregnant! This came to an abrupt end 3 days later where we had what’s known as a chemical pregnancy. Absolutely heartbroken I had half given up, what were the chances we would fall pregnant again so soon after so long of nothing?

Well, here we are, after only 1 cycle later, pregnant again! Hopefully this time is different for us, it definetly feels different!

I’m so nervous in trying to keep myself busy until I’m further along aha, but congratulations and yay birth date twins aha ❤️

@Nosejug DD1 IVF, DD2 natural surprise, and now this will be DS (gender selected IVF (we do not live in the UK so gender selection is legal))

So cool you got a surprise! Especially before forking out all that money. IVF is so expensive 😭

@Farmz96 twinning! Can I ask why your pregnancy is high risk?

@Pigeonwings baby number 4 🤩 I've been told in no uncertain terms that I'm capped at 3 by DH lol

Of course! from the beginning of my pregnancy I had quite a bit of bleeding through my first and second trimester so I was monitored two weekly. I then ended up having a retained placenta after birth and needed emergency surgery straight after giving birth. Which I was then told if I ever fall pregnant again I’ll automatically be high risk and surgery will be booked ready just incase, as a retained placenta often reoccurs tho not always! I know a retained placenta can lead to life threatening haemorrhaging that’s why they’d prepare the surgery this time incase. Sounded abit daunting first time they told me but I think they just like to be ready if anything happens x

Found out today that I am pregnant with my 2nd, there will be a 10 year age gap between my eldest and this baby! My expected due date looks to be around the 8th December

@expat321 yes I know 😂 currently have 3 gorgeous girls and my youngest is an absolute dream…. Probably been tricked into a false sense of security 😂

ooft well I discussed all this with the clinic that were planning on doing my IVF and he's concerned I got such an early positive, he thinks it might be an ectopic pregnancy. I feel sad and a bit sick about it :( I know when I ovulated for sure (27th/28th march) and got a positive test on the evening of Wed 2nd. Anyone ever heard of an early positive test not being ectopic? I'm heartbroken.

I think I ovulated on 26th March and found out 9 dpo with two positive one was a digital not even an early detection one i wasn’t due on until the 8/9 April so I’m praying all is well as I’ve had previous mc’s. Tho with my last mc I noticed the digital didn’t progress to 2-3 when it should’ve it just stayed at 1-2. I don’t know much about ectopics tho but early doesn’t always mean bad im surprised I got a bfp 9dpo but I actually saw a shadow on 8dpo wasn’t sure if it was line eyes tho 😂

Can’t quite believe it but got my positive test today! Had to take 4 because I just couldn’t believe it. Only 11 dpo today.

Month 6 of trying for our 2nd and finally it’s happened! I’m in shock tonight because I really thought we were out. Only managed a quickie 4 days before ovulation!! But it worked! 🙌🏻

I’m 17dpo and got my positive a week ago. We’ve been trying for 3 years and had a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks last year which went on for months. A fortnight before getting this positive we’d been referred for IVF by a consultant, so it feels very surreal! It’s going to be an anxious few months and I think I’ll be doing an early scan to check everything is okay. Anyone else planning an early scan, if so when? Debating between 7-8 weeks.

ill be doing an early scan but purely because I’m impatient and can’t wait till 12 weeks 😂

with my first I went at 9 weeks for private scan just to ensure it gave enough time to show a heart beat etc so I’ll do the same this time wait till 9 weeks.

Hey @Mitzingtoncongratulations on the positive test. I’m similar to you, ttc 3.5 years with 2 failed rounds of ivf and a spontaneous pregnancy between the rounds that ended in mmc at 10 weeks which delayed everything. Because of my history my epu have given me a reassurance scan at around 6.5/7 weeks. It might be worth giving them a call. Sorry you’ve been through similar, I understand how the mc&combined infertility make it so hard to feel the joy of a positive test. Wishing you the best of luck

Oh that’s good to know! I’ll definitely do that and see if mine would be able to offer the same. Last time I didn’t have a booking in appointment scheduled until 13 weeks as the midwives were so busy, so hoping for a bit more support this time.

I’m abit confused now aha so according to my app I’m 3weeks 5 days as you can see from my original post digital said 1-2 which would be right I was around 3weeks 2days. Took another today and it’s saying 2-3 so digital is saying in further along than the app? Anyone had this?

I find this bit really hard….. just waiting. Scans seem so far away and I just worry constantly….

I had this with my first. I was 14dpo , 2 weeks to the day of missed period and I took a clear blue it came up 2-3 weeks. Which is right as the clear blue goes from your last period so you’re 3+5 which is nearly 4 weeks pregnant.

I got 1-2 weeks on the clear blue on Friday I was the same as you 3+4 I’m holding out till the weekend to do the other test just to make sure the weeks have increased.

Oooh okay so does it matter that I’m 3w6days but the test is saying I’m 4-5 weeks? Basically I came off the pill in January so all my normally cycles have been out the window all over the place I’m wondering if maybe Im out by a few days aha. With my daughter I didn’t find out until after my period was due but this time super early and not even used early tests and still got darks lines straight away. Im so useless with all this lol thank you for replying to me 🤗

@Farmz96 id say you’re only 1 day out being 4 weeks so dates would all match up. Or could be ovulation sooner than you thought maybe and further along? Or maybe just HCG are just slightly higher.

i think you’re all at the right timings with the clear blue. There’s not exactly accurate to that day of 4 weeks etc.

I was the same with my daughter I waited for missed period but this time I wanted to take the test at the weekend so I wasn’t in work for the outcome 😂

I’m terrible finding out so early I feel like I gotta wait even longer 😂 I thought I was a patient person…apparently not 😅

I know I thought the same! 😂 it’s going to be a long 9 months as we’re only 4 weeks! hopefully it goes quick I just can’t wait to be off work 🤣🤣

Maybe if we try forget it’ll go quicker 😂
