Hi!

Just thought i’d start a thread as I know a few of us have found out we are expecting! Would love to hear everyone’s stories to start us off as I know December feels soooo far away yet!

I’ll go first, I already have one child, he is 6 years old Smile Totally did not plan to have anymore once me and his dad split, I was one and done. However, years on met my current other half and I just knew straight away I had a change of heart. We started trying 18 months ago with negatives every month, later finding out there was infertility on both our sides. We moved in together January this year after deciding we would give IVF a try once we were settled in new GPs etc, only to find out we were pregnant! This came to an abrupt end 3 days later where we had what’s known as a chemical pregnancy. Absolutely heartbroken I had half given up, what were the chances we would fall pregnant again so soon after so long of nothing?

Well, here we are, after only 1 cycle later, pregnant again! Hopefully this time is different for us, it definetly feels different! Grin

How is everyone? Any more babies? 39+5 today and I’ve been thinking all week is it ever going to happen 😂

few pains here and there but no contractions more so ligaments so hopefully baby is moving lower. Don’t feel like it’s going to happen any time soon. Just praying I go next week so I have a week before Xmas!

IcyLimeSwan · 11/12/2025 15:41

Bit delayed from our side, but our baby girl was born 4/12 😍 little bit of an eventful birth but she is here safe and sound, absolutely in love with her! Definitely having postpartum baby blues hit, when it gets to nighttime over the last couple of days I find myself in tears due to the impending sleep deprivation 😅 milk coming in really well though and each day we’re getting to know her needs a bit better! Hope everyone else is okay!

Congratulations!! The early days are so rough and it's so normal to cry, take it easy on yourself as much as you can ❤️

Congratulations on your little one. ❤️ The blues are horrid aren't they. I said to a friend I feel like I'm losing my mind. One minute I'm happy the next I'm crying and half the time I don't know why

STILL PREGNANT! 😩
anyone else over due? 40+4 by NHS dates 40+1 by mine. Which is only just over but I’m so done now.
Feeling ok it’s just the waiting round and not knowing! No signs what so ever & any other time I’d be fine waiting I just don’t wanna be in hospital for Xmas 😩

We are in the same boat! 😫

I’m not due until the 30th, feeling so uncomfortable now although I don’t really want baby to arrive before Christmas as I don’t want to be away from my son on Christmas Day! My last baby had IUGR and this one doesn’t, gosh the difference in how I feel is huge, I am ginormous!

Thegirlhasnamechanged · 18/12/2025 18:11

Proper last minute addition to the thread as I was originally on the January 2026 one (EDD was 4 Jan) before getting a section date of 30 December… and then having baby on the 15 December following a spontaneous water breaking event all over the brand new rug

obviously all trusts are different but the ward here (we’re still in following some postpartum issues) are not heaving like I worried they would be at this time of year. Lots of twinkly lights and so calm.

Obviously not want you guys want to hear when overdue from somebody who delivered 37+1 spontaneously 😅

Well I got a text confirmation of my section today for the 30th… have to say I was hoping for something a bit more official but I’m pleased the hospital haven’t forgotten me!

MyLilacPoet · 19/12/2025 20:26

Hi all, I had my daughter on December 7th at home as planned (40+4). She was born one minute before my midwife arrived (luckily my doula got there in time to help me into a half-filled pool for the last few minutes)! It’s true that second babies come more quickly - I was expecting a slow labour like my first. It was a brilliant experience, and this baby has taken to breastfeeding unlike my first. Hopefully it won’t be too long before more of us have our babies in our arms.

Pinkstuffs · 26/12/2025 04:27

My baby was born Christmas Day evening, at 39+2 weighing 7lb 7oz. Labour started spontaneously so my planned section was brought forward as a category 2. It was super quiet at the hospital, arrived at 9.30pm and he was born at 11.30pm!

emzlyz · 26/12/2025 11:26

Baby Molly arrived 22/12/25. After pessary induction on 21/12. My waters broke around midnight. By 9am my no epidural rule was abandoned and baby was an emergency c-section around 8:30pm as she wasn't coming down the birth canal. She kept going back in. But she's here and she's perfect. We were discharged Christmas Eve.

CandyRain89 · 26/12/2025 14:19

Aww congratulations to you all 🥰

Mama09876 · 26/12/2025 21:19

Baby arrived last week. A week over due, ended in induction due to baby weight dipping a lot, had a scan and they wanted to induce me there and then which I declined. Was really over whelmed and not expecting it. Everything else on scan was ok so made a plan to give myself 2 more days to get to spontaneously. Didn’t happen!

Pessary went in but had to be taken out after 2hrs I reacted very quickly and contracting to quickly for baby. Had to be continuously monitored which wasn’t how I planned it but overall was fine. Luckily with both mine I labour fast. Went from 3cm to birthing in 2hrs.

8pm delivery and was home by 12.30am.

Forgot how bloody painful it all was 😂 gas & air did nothing! Once again was rubbish. So just used my tens machine. Again thankful I labour quick because I was on verge of asking for stronger stuff but didn’t want it to slow things down and lead to a C section.

In a beautiful baby bubble enjoying these newborn weeks 🤍

How's everyone getting on? Mollie will be 5 months next week. She's just under 9th centile. We had so many issues with feeding (tongue tie, reflux, bottle preference) breastfeeding didn't go as planned and she has been mostly formula fed, I'm about to stop expressing which I'm happy and sad about. Can't wait to start weaning next month. She's doing great with rolling from her front and can sit up for about 10 seconds. She babbles non stop and has been teething since about 3 months.

Levi was 5 months last week. We've also had a journey - tongue tie released twice now, wouldn't latch and BF so I've been pumping but only getting 80mls in a day. My doctor said I was in the menopause and has failed to investigate. I got pancreatitis after all the cholescystitis I had in my 3rd trimester and had my gallbladder out in March so 4 months between 2 major abdo surgeries. Despite that he's doing well, he's dropped from 7th to 2nd centile but he's a happy chap, babbles away, can ping himself out of his bouncy chair and loves the dogs. We got a highchair this week as he's very interested in food.

@CheeryPombearaw he is so cute!

my little girl is 5.5 months now. She is doing really well, she was below 9th percentile for a while but just moved to 25th. She never had any issues with feeding, just has small bottles. I breastfed and supplemented with formula but moved to formula only at 3-4 weeks old. She loves her sleep too, she usually has a bottle at 10pm and manages to sleep until 6-7 in the morning.

i’m also doing well, finished my blood thinners in February. I was advised by my consultant to be careful as next pregnancy will carry significant risks and I would need injections from the pregnancy test. However we are happy with 2 and don’t plan anymore. It makes me sad tho she is growing up so quickly 😭 I also did couple of KIT days at work which was nice to catch up with my team. We have holidays booked in August before she starts nursery and her big brother starts high school. We have day time flight so hopefully it will go smoothly lol

My LO was 5 months a few days ago. Shes rolling back to belly and occassionaly belly to back. Not quite sitting yet shes abit wobbly still. We started purees a few weeks back, just a little taste at lunch time. She loves it.

I breast fed for 6 weeks but with 3 other kids and a house to run , mastitis twice , i was starting to struggle mentally so we switched to formula and she has been fine. Sleeps most nights 9pm - 7am. With the occassional wake up some nights.
I had a c section, first time out of 4 births , since she was breech. The overall experience was great, staff were chilled, christmas songs on in theatre that they were singing along to. But oh my, the recovery is taking alot longer, i just feel so weak in my core. It also took them 3 goes to get the spinal right and i suffer with pain in the spinal sight now.
Overall though going good. Good to hear from people on here.

Charlotte will be 6 months on Sunday! Not rolling yet but trying very hard to and she'll get there. We started purees a few days ago which have been going down well! We're finally emerging from the 4 month sleep regression and only having 2 or 3 wakes a night which is miles better than what it was a week or so ago! She's still combination fed (breastfeeding and formula) but starting to shift more towards formula now with the aim of finishing breastfeeding soon. It's going too fast! Where has 6 months gone!

chickengirls · 14/05/2026 09:23

So lovely to have some updates my little one is not rolling yet! She goes to her side and back! She’s 5months but has slept through the night most nights from about 2 weeks old which im
very grateful for as she’s my 5th! We are all totally obsessed with her it’s going too fast! So lovely to hear about your gorgoues babies and how wonderfully different they are in their own ways! ❤️

CheeryPombear · 14/05/2026 12:03

Levi has rolled front to back about 3 or 4 times but not the other way. I can't believe they're all 5-6 months already. Thankfully we haven't had sleep regression, he sleeps from roughly 8pm to 5am. Last night he went down around 7, woke at 22 but slept til 7am so think we are blessed with that. Just a shame I'm still doing 2am and 6am pumps. I thought about weaning with my supply being so low but it makes me so sad to stop it even though I hate pumping. I was hoping after the tongue tie release that he would latch but do far he's had a lick and a chomp and that's it.

@UNICORN1589 I hear you with the loss of core stability. I've just started osteopathy to try and balance things out before I start exercising.

I don't know if we will have any more. We have 2 embryos left and I can't imagine not trying but clinic won't entertain anything until January at the earliest and this pregnancy, birth and post partum period have been so traumatic for us all.

emzlyz · 14/05/2026 12:16

So lovely to see how well all our babies are doing.

We've had our first 2 holidays. One to Iceland at 12 weeks and she was a dream baby on the way out, had a feed on take off, fell asleep and woke up when we landed. We did a lot of driving and sight seeing but she mostly slept. Was with my hubby, dad and sister so she always had someone sat next to her in the car. Coming home she was a little more unsettled but did fall asleep about 30 minutes into the flight and slept until landing again. Then we had a caravan holiday a few weeks later.

I've not had any kit days. Hoping to use them September to November when I get 0 pay. Planning to return 1 day a week in December then Jan-April 4 days using my annual leave. Then evaluate it in April and consider doing my hours over 4 days or dropping 7 hours.

I also run a dog treat shop with a family member. I do 1 or 2 days a week so Mollie has been coming with me to the shop, teaching her colours using our yak bars 😂

She is my first, possibly only child because she's such a good baby, not sure I'd cope with a baby that wasn't so chilled. I'm just soaking it all in and trying to enjoy everything but I am dreading when I have to go back to my full time job.

MyLilacPoet · 14/05/2026 13:34

So lovely to hear how all the babies are doing! :)

Neve just turned 5 months and is a snuggly, relaxed baby. She’s napped in the sling since day 1 and is exclusively breastfed which I really wasn’t expecting! Feeding my eldest was tough going as she was a small sleepy baby, it involved formula top-ups, pumping, tongue tie, and led to some PND. Hang on in there if you are also struggling, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

This second baby has been healing in that respect - lovely home-birth and she latched straight away. We did have reflux for the first 2 months and took turns to hold her upright overnight but that’s all settled now and she sleeps well.

Her big sister is nearly 4 and enjoying her new role!
